Shit shit shit! I just saw one of these things in my kitchen, and there may very well be more of them. I understand their AC is quite high, and I'm only a 1st-level commoner! What's worse, I haven't seen a wandering band of adventurers in weeks! Am I screwed, /tg/?

Shit OP, I hope you can arm and disable traps.

If you can't you could try getting a house cat, but that's quite literally inviting a lion into your home. Be sure to keep it appeased!
    >> Anonymous 10/19/08(Sun)22:06 No.2838968
Fellow citizen! Hasten thyself to the nearest shopkeep and inquire about "Mouse Trappynh Contraption". I swear upon the 7 Gods that such contraption can work marvels, and for only a pittance of gold!

Arm and disable traps? But... neither fall under any of my skills! I guess I could try the house cat, but I also don't have Handle Animal trained...

    >>2838968
How might one use these contraptions?

That's okay, cats are immune to Handle Animal anyway.

Just go around delivering things for people. In about a month you'll have gained 6-7 levels thanks to the quest experience, and you can throw some of your skill points into handle animal.

paper boys would be like rangers, picking off their enemies from afar with their deadly daily newspapers.

Postmen would be like paladins, who have a solemn oath to always deliver their trusted packages/letters.

Milkmen would be like druids, who know the forgotten art of extracting milk from the great beasts only known as COWS, or sometimes even the lesser beast called a GOAT. They then bottle these precious elixirs known for their bone strengthening properties.

Don't worry, the DC of a mouse trap is quite low. Mice sometimes manage to disarm them completely untrained, even with the penalty for not having hands or tools.

Peanut butter gives the trap an additional +2 to hit.
    >> Anonymous 10/19/08(Sun)22:40 No.2839129
It's okay, just do some menial tasks until you get a couple levels and then take a level or expert (basket weaver), weave baskets and trap the mouse under one, then continue making baskets for the experience, and sell them until you have enough to hire a mercenary to take out the mouse for you.

They have... what? A 1 dice pool? Factor in defense and we're looking at a chance roll. Yeah, there's a CHANCE they're going to hit her and make it hurt, but assuming she's averagely fit and knows how to throw a kick, I don't think they're going to last long.

Hee hee, oh u. Housecats have defense pools of FIVE, which applies to firearms used within arms reach as well. She'd probably only have a defense pool of 2 or 3, each attack would strip away 1 defense plus be a chance die. She'd be as fucked as garou packs attacking lone kindred.
