SO, it's Nova Europa, and the PC's are finally back in Londonium after a horrible week in Florida. The Italian sniper/cleric has a morphine addiction, the Hollywood gunslinger has become a minor mage, and the French spyman has a demon piggybacking in his brain after a run-in with some infernally enhanced life saving drugs.

Im thinking of landing some longboats filled with viking raiders in the harbor while they're in the operahouse.

WAY back when in the first days of the campaign, they ran afoul of a Germanian Luftwaffe captain, Victor Krupp. Piloting a titanium derrigible with the power of teleportation and LIGHTNING, he harassed them across europe while they collected three magical artifacts so that Krupp would not get his hands on them. He captured them later on, and relieved them of their baggage, begining a ritual to summon an elder god to Nova Europa deep below the Alps. After defeating a platoon of undead soldiers and dark-mages, they fought to Krupps untimely death (he was shot with an under-barrel grenade launcher...in his neck)

Back to the current times, the PC's have had a few adventures and LEVELED UP many a ways. The sniper is working towards being able to snap his fingers and bring a case of ammo into existence. The gunslinger has found GOD and the spark as well, with the added benefit of casting haste. And the Frenchman has a demon in his head.

After some leisure time, I plan to have them invited to the operahouse by one of the more important NPC's (either SCOTTY the big fat mastermage of the British Intelligence Agency, or possibly Vandal Savage, A visiting Oil Tycoon from far-off Hollywoodland). At the opera, they will become the target of the vicious raiding and razing by VIKINGS.

Bursting outside, they see the ocanside of Londonium aflame and awash with Scandanavian Invaders! Fighting them off, they will see a Blimp vanish into a bank of clouds, high in the night sky, POP!-ing out of existance... suspiciously JUST like their old nemesis' derrigible!

The next morning, while the workers rebuild the docks and the citizens tremble with trepidation, the PC's will be called before the BIA for a general emergency meeting. The higher-ups have decided that a strike force will be sent out to retribute for the horrible affront to the Pope-emperor's sensibilities (the same pope-emperor who is also the second coming of christ(C), who is ALSO robo-jesus, the one who got shot in the head with two .45's!).

The assault will be three steamships, each carrying a platoon of the New Roman Empires finest Centurions...and the PC's.

Upon reaching Scandanavia, they will zero in on a NAZI communicae signal, heading northward into Russian territories. When they reach a Fjord deep in the heart of the winter provinces, TERROR! as three Ymir burst from the chilly waters and lay waste to their assault ironclads!

As our heroes will be stranded in the north, yet victorious over the evil giants, they will seek shelter in the caves above them on the fjord walls. This will be a perfect time to torment the Frenchman with his inner demon, but most likely not if he has dealt with it allready.

After a nights rest and recovery, they head inland towards the source of the nazi signal(or some other thread to guide them along. Possibly the sniper begins using his magic offensively, or his survival(mountainous) properly).

Nearing the whermarcht workhouse, they will sight the smokestacks and cavern entrance the Nazi's have used to construct their Titanium Derrigible. Entering, they will see that Krupp has begun another remobilization of his renegade Luftwaffe forces. What they did not suspect, however, is his inclusion of enslaved norsemen.

After this point I find myself at a loss as to HOW to challenge my party next. They all have weaknesses and strengths, and I seem to have tapped my creative juices.

The Italian sniper, Arcus, has a shady background. He worked for the New Roman Empire during the transition when Jesus the Emperor took over, whereby he assassinated key figures that would have opposed the new rule. This secret death-dealing would have him disowned by his Madre Italia, and possibly hunted for the killings of so many powerful religious and political leaders.
His strengths lie in his rifle; A bolt action 7.62mm firearm with a 4x thermal enhanced imaging scope. Coupled with an enhanced time sence that allows him to act first the moment he is aware of danger(as well as a repertoire of magical spells including the healing college) he drops enemies before they become a threat with a fast shot to their eyes.

The French Gentlemanly spy is Michael Zulo. He began his life as a street urchin, became a successful thief, then gave that up to become an even MORE successful spy for the British Intelligence Agency. He is a very wealthy man, talented, but not limited to boxing, pistol shot, acrobatics and is a powerful negotiator. He ranks with the higher-ups in his field, and has access to an array of information and technology.
Unfortunately, a string of bad luck and a life of crime has left him with several disadvantages. He is harassed often by enemies of his former identity of "Le Renard", and comes under fire at least once a week by someone from whom he stole something important. he is a glutton for wine, addicted to cigarettes, and completely intolerant of anything Germanian. As well, he is currently host to a malcontent demon he knows as 'Ulrict', who on random occasion lights errant fires and vicariously indulges in many vices through Michael.

Last is the gunslinger Simon Tarrasque (I shit you not, this name WORKS for him in-game). Hailing form far off hollywoodland, he is a malicious malcontent on a mission from God. more specifically, he has had run-in with the law ever since his teenage years where he developed a mental quirk that let him hear his guns talk to him. His pair of .45 revolvers have settled(and started) more fights than any other weapon wielded by any other member of their fighting troupe. His addiction to morphine has also led to many interesting encounters, and has unfortunately spread to the sniper, Arcus as well. Aside from a trigger happy lifestyle and an emotional detachment not seen since zombie-Hitler, he has recently found both God and magic. UNdecided on where he stands, he still lets 'the girls' do his talking for him, with armor-piercing Discarding Sabot rounds...

So I now find myself conflicted. What should the next threat to the party be? So far, they have faced
-Nazis: reight occultists, lurching zombies, and stormtroopers
-Ruskies: Soul sapped infantry, light armored infantry and fission fueled supermen
-Floridian monsters, including nuclear and magical holocaust victims
-Cajun lawmen and lawbreakers, as well as skycaptains of tomorrow
-New Roman Centurions armed with grapple-hook guns boarding their train
    -A demon in the head
    -Mecha-Jesus

As well, they will face the Ymir(frost Giants), Viking Raiders, Viking Warpriests, Viking Janissaries, Ice dragons, and maybe a Ghost.

    Have they fought dinosaurs yet?

Since you've given me plenty of ideas for the Spirit of the Century campaign I'm running with this same sort of feel (last session, the PCs battled the unkillable--thanks to his special lifegiving rum--Captain Morgan as he attacked the Hindenburg from his own aeroship. The coolest hat in the world was plucked off the Captain's head during a swordfight between him and the blind PC.), here's a couple links that might be of use to you:

You could have Krupp trying to enslave a Norse god but the raid screwing things up and warping the entire factory (along with the PCs and troops) onto the back of the Midgard Serpent. They have to fight back through Krupp and his henchmen to the widening rift near it's head and seal it off before it enlarges enough that the Serpent can unclasp his tail, slip through, and destroy the world.

Fuck yeah, frenzied fights against Nazis and Vikings on top of a giant poisonous dragon the size of a planet.

OP's story sounds like something that should be written up into a session-by-session story. This is the sort of thing that could top stories like The Army of Commoners (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59107), Alecia the Insanely Epic Paladin (3-4 threads in suptg), or Obama and the Pirates of Wichita (http://randomactsofshark.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html).

well, i kept logs of the first two months of sessions, but it dropped off when they playtested other characters. namely a group of mecha testpilots from Hollywoodland working for Nikolas Tesla, and a trio of Sioux from the midwest exploring the wastes of the united states of Columbia(that group had a retrded daredevil with a peyote addiction who kept getting shot in the knees as well as a samurai and a water mage who was afraid of fish.)

The mechs were my favorite though. They eventually fought off an Aztec invasion(FYI the Aztecs live in the N-Dimension and are technologically advanced elves in disguise)

Please tell me these are on the internet somewhere, or will be.

You keep casually dropping ideas, most all of which I would love hearing more about. Probably because your campaign is what I'm trying to do now, if a little (read: lot) less successfully. The whole thing has the stamp of EPIC across it, successfully venturing into absurdity and awesome without going so far as to break suspension of disbelief.

well, I guess I have a project now to re-write them coherently. I mostly took point-form notes and it all came together rather jaggedly, but I should be able to polish it up for you guys without much flavor loss.

Again, as an aside, the frenchman has the demon Ulrict in his head, and has found that by battling it in his mind, he frees himself of Ulrict's influences for a few short days while the demon heals. I mostly did this to better simulate possession rules, as the GURPS system so far has only two forms that really simulate possession, but not demonic possessions...

Considering the time period you're in, I'd make a suggestion to give some thought to Turkey.

The country's position astride Europe and Asia makes it a hotspot of damn near everything colliding together- cultures, religions, races even. The country at about the point in which your campaign is probably running would be freshly reformed off the policies of the Ataturk, into a nation with a very militaristic bent and sense of self, and obviously caught between Islamic and Holy Roman (Christian) religious doctrines that would be pulling at the country from the lowest dockworker on up.

Plus, gunpowder all over the damn place. Turkish mercs wandering Eastern Europe wouldn't be unlikely or unheard of.

    In short:

A militaristic (practically military-worshipping) nation led by a president-general torn between two worlds, with HEAVY religious influence from both Islam and Christianity, assloads of history, massive amounts of naval traffic and naval power due to it being surrounded by water everywhere, and absolutely packed to the gunwales with gunpowder.

Last week-end, we battled on a zeppelin en route to Washington to release deadly pods of Mustard Gas mk II.

Silsila Samsâra, an indian princess (my girlfriend character) pushed the professor's aide, miss Night, to her death.

Meanwhile, my character, Anatoli Zwanziger, moldavian prince in exile, under his guise of THE HOOD (pic related) battled a dozen of henchmen, jumping from one to another, never to be pinned, hurling at them is throwing knives.

Hypolite Escartefigue, the world's frenchiest man, wrestler and gentleman, battled the professor's most vile creation, Boris, the half-man.

it ended up with the zeppelin going down in flames, and me jumping from it onto the top of the white house, my frame against the rising sun, before my valet Lazlo fly above in my hydravion and I burst into an heroic laugh while catching the ropeladder and disappearing into the skies.

Well it sounds like A pulp rpg, that's right. SotC is not the only one, though. it started as a White Wolf's Adventure! game but as frenchmen, we have a certain disdain for rules, so lately we've been doing it freestyle with a quick simplified homemade system that speeds up the action and fun.

because rules aren't written into stone, and personal settings are better.

As an update to this, in today's session the Captain escaped into a biplane with the last crate of his rum, and attempted to make his escape. He went right underneath the blind PC Niels (who uses an atomic powered radio wave generating backpack connected to his brain to "see"), who said "fuck it" and jumped after him, just catching onto an elevator. Captain Morgan attempted to shake him off, and when that didn't work tried shooting him off. While he missed Niels repeatedly, the biplane got pretty battered, and ended up taking a ricochet in the engine. Followed by several more as the somewhat drunk and pissed off Morgan cursed at it to work. As Niels and Morgan fought, the plane went into an uncontrolled dive, and Morgan secured the rum crate onto the only parachute, pulling the ripcord. Niels leaped after it, but was pulled back down by the ankle. After pinning Morgan to the plane with a swordcane through the chest, Niels kicked loose the weakened upper wing and grabbed the loose cables to form a makeshift hang glider. He glided into a heavy landing on shore, his backpack safe from the salt water, Morgan's curses behind him. He still is in possession of the world's coolest hat.

The rest of the party was having fun shenanigans with rioting passengers on the Hindenburg. The Capitalist Commando ended up, in a rushed ceremony, marrying two fine-looking (I rolled a % die to determine hotness, and got 68 and 100. Yeah.) Mormon girls and engaging in some wincest before the zepplin reached New York. The fake gypsy took passengers to her cabin, and hypnotized them for cash and "later use." Whatever that means.

Might I suggest bringing in Australians somehow. I noticed a great deal of European, North American, and Russian enemies. Surely a continent/country being used as an enormous penal colony should be a source for some fuckawesome villains (for instance cyborg outbacksmen with monomolcular boomerangs, an animal trainer creating chemically enhanced saltwater attack crocodiles).

And Aborigines who can channel the spirits of nature to create a colossal, world-shattering boomerang. Which they attack the moon with. And it turns out Napoleon's army was really hiding there in preparation for an assault via orbital drop pods.

Okay, this has given me a wonderful idea for my next Spirit of the Century character--a pair of secretary/maid/nurse close contacts who follow him around, assisting him however necessary. AND TWINS THEY WILL BE.

Twins They Were would be one hell of an aspect, I admit. Isn't it easier to take the Ladies' Man stunt, though, with A Girl in Every Port or similar aspect?

Yeah, but this way it'd be a more noticeable character. Two dedicated "helpers" vs a bevy of call girls: you make the call.

Better still if you made them really exotic. Maybe they don't talk to the rest of the party because they're Russian. Or perhaps you rescued them from the Congo while undercover, and they have sworn a life-bond to you.
