Construct- A very complex Frankenstein-type of construct widely referred to as simply, Constructs. Often created by Sparks as lab assistants, they are, for the most part, fairly intelligent (to a point), unwaveringly loyal to their creators, and quite strong; the most basic usually being at least twice as strong as an average human. Most look just like humans, though there are always a few exceptions (multiple arms, for example).
    -Medium Size
    -+4 Str, -2 Wis
    - -2 Will
    -Hit Dice: d10
    -1d8 Slam attack
    -+2 Natural Armor
-+2 to Disguise checks when imitating humans
    -Base Speed is 30ft
    -Lowlight Vision
-Immunity to poison, sleep effects, stunning, and disease.
    -Immune to fatigue and exhaustion.
-Can be either healed or repaired
-Automatic Language: A Construct knows the language of its creator, plus any other languages its creator taught (programmed) it to know. Consult the DM for this.
    -Favored Class: Mechanist

Jägermonster- A more aggressive type of construct, most often found in the services of Klaus Wulfenbach’s armies or those of his vassals, they are strong, tough, and usually incredibly stupid (though this is often made up for in cunning and likeability). Those Jägermonsters who are intelligent are often extremely so, and therefore are usually Generals in Wulfenbach’s armies, though these few are incredibly rare. Jägermonsters most often look like powerfully built humanoids (even when they are scrawny, they are buff) with greatly exaggerated teeth, animalistic features such as heads or horns, and mostly purple or green skin, though grays, browns, oranges, tanned, or pinkish skin are all common too. All Jägermonsters speak any language they know with a distinct and heavy accent which sounds like a mix of Russian and German, though it rarely affects communication.

    -+4 to Intimidate checks
    - -4 to Diplomacy checks
    - -2 to Disguise checks
-If a dice stat roll of 18 or above is allocated to the Int score, then the -4 modifier no longer applies

Spark- Sparks are the men and women who plunged the world into chaos at the onset of the Industrial Revolution; their powers finally realized with the advent of steam technology. Each country sought to overthrow the others and the continent plunged into war. It took the Heterodyne Boys and later Klaus Wulfenbach to restore order to the land (of Europe). Sparks have a “natural” affinity for all things mechanical. This comes at a price, for many go quite mad as a result of their experiments, also they often become quite dead as a result of their experiments as well. Throw in a deep-seated prejudice by the common people for anything strange, and you get a nice recipe for a dead Spark. Until the Heterodyne Boys came around, Sparks were people to be feared, or if possible, killed (We found a Spark! May we burn her?), though it was not until Klaus Wulfenbach returned that there was a place for them to be accepted. While all Sparks are human, their abilities are sufficient to permit classifying them as their own race for game purposes.

Instead of getting rid of the arbitrary -4, why not have the Jaeger's intelligence be no higher than, say, their constitution? It also seems noteworthy that the Jaeger generals are all old, probably getting the +3 bonus to Int, Wis, and Cha.
Likability and -2 cha don't really mix, and Jaegers always struck me as unwise more than unintelligent.
    >> Anonymous 12/05/08(Fri)13:10 No.3118226
D&D probably can't really encompass this sort of thing.

I mean, Lilith/Judy ripped a solid steel warship bulkhead door off its moorings with her bare hands. That's more than +4 str.

Jagers are made by giving a physically fit military-age human a special chemical elixir, which kills most, leaves most survivors insane or crippled, but one time out of ten produces a usable Jagermonster. They're not constructs.

So, nu, Dragonwrought Kobolds get no penalty to aging but get the positive effects. Just give them the same sort of thing with an undefined maximum age-- they could well BE immortal, but they've only been around a few hundred years, so it's had to tell.

One's an unknown mad science process that transforms human volunteers into corpses or twisted abominations, and very occasionally into Jagermonsters.

The other is 'battle draught' that jagers drink to make them fight harder and heal faster.

I would have thought that the spark would be a string of feats, so that you start off with Latent Spark, then Awakened Spark, and then Strong Spark (so humans could start as an Awakened spark but not anyone else, due to the extra feat). And that then there'd be classes made that have those feats as prerequisites.

You could say the same about the Wizards bosses, back in the day when Wizards was still Wizards and not Hasbro.

The real reason would be that GURPS caters to the mad scientist trope and is, contrary to the D20 system, truly universal.

All Jagers have hats. They make take a feat "Damn Spiffy Hat!" and get a +2 to all rolls

If they are ever without their hat, they take a -2/-8 to all rolls, normal hat vs the damn spiffy hat.

A fitting penalty for such a powerful feat.
