Filbert emerges from the large tube, wielding a BONESAW. He demands that Ruby and Tom, being so clearly infected, must be operated on immediately. He says he will cut them until they are clean.
It would appear Filbert is rather adamant about this.
It would also appear he's gone completely off his head.

[As always, try to keep most running discussion to the IRC room at irc.rizon.net , /join #rubyquest , so as to avoid cluttering the threads too much. Just practice a little self-moderation and try not to flood things.]

If he listens, follow him up then push him through into the plane of teeth when Mouthdoor opens.

If he doesn't, back into the 'fan' room and lay a quick trap to push him over the railings into gorey splattitude.

Filbert is obviously fully-mobile and you have absolutely no head start. Climbing a ladder right next to him probably wouldn't result in a getaway.

If Ruby and Tom are determined to flee, they should find a better method.

The posters in general made the decision to fight, and they have only limited control over Tom and Ruby's actions, since the characters do have their own motivations and instincts. Weaver is resolving the fight the way he thinks the characters would resolve the fight, taking various decent suggestions and attempting to satisfy as many of them as possible. You can stop being upset that you weren't listened to now.

Stop and talk for a while, now that you're not in an immediate danger.

It's been like ten threads since you last talked about this stuff. Since then, the unbreakable trust between you has been shattered regardless, it turned out Ruby killed two people for some reason, her eye is trying to kill/corrupt her, Filbert confirmed you're both dead, Subject 6 is fucking freaky, Ace and Stitches are after you, Filbert just tried to kill you, and everything in general is getting from bad to worse.

It's all taking a toll on your psyche and sanity. You can't let it chew on you, if you want to get out alive and sane. Let all that weighs on your heart get out. Leave nothing unresolved. Try to regain the trust you used to have. Take comfort in each other's presence, assure each other that you will both get through this.

Trust me, you will feel much, much better afterwards.

A strangely familiar voice fires off a string of incredibly foul (and very unprovoked) profanities directed at Tom.

If you wanted to seal off a facility, it does seem odd to allow the lockdown to be lifted by killing the person charged with keeping it in place, who is immobile and directly next to the hatch.

She wants to die, and offers information to give us justification for doing so. Kill her, the lockdown is removed, only then you open hatch to find they've filled the thing with concrete. Or there are others above charged with keeping the thing shut. With guns. But even so, she still gets her wish.

If she's integral to the facility, then really it only makes things worse for us.

She goes on to say that Tom and Ruby do not want the person in charge of security to be against them.
She has asked nicely, she has helped them come this far, but now she is putting her foot down. She will lock doors, activate traps, and seal rooms if they persist.

    Artistic oversight.

Tom and Ruby escape from Ace's lair in cold storage. They seal the area behind them, but knowing Ace, it won't hold him for long. Whatever they're going to do, they had better do it FAST. Ace is clearly on a mission and this facility will not be safe for them for very much longer.

Tom's MANLY PHYSIQUE allows him to carry the prisoner with relative ease, but his move speed is still reduced. Perhaps things would move faster if he and Ruby split up.

Ace was holding 6 against his will, and still is.

Right now, we could use all the allies against Ace we can get. Stitches is out and we've rescued Emobird; Maddie's probably a bit too gaseous and vaporised right now to help (or else she's regened as well and will play her part). So we need to set 6 free, and any other prisoners if we find them.

    THE FLOCK MUST WORK TOGTHER!

Continue to carry Emobird with you, you can't leave someone who can be saved behind in this living hell.

In the time it would take Tom to drag the weakened prisoner up to the exit, Ruby could probably reach both the dummy room and then the downstairs console.
At least, she could if she took a shortcut...

That's it then. Ruby: JUMP! Tom: Take Emobird to the exit.

(Also please don't refer to him as "Prisoner", Weaver. He's free now.)

    Hell NOOOOOOOO!
Filbert would escape AND SEAL THE HATCH AFTERWARDS! THEN IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO ESCAPE.

Or we tell him the evil's in Ace, and to cut it out of him.

Probably won't do Filbert much good, but it'll buy time for the prisoner escape.

RAILROA- wait, no, we asked for it.

So, Ruby: jump down the hole, aim for the non-Euclidean gap.

Tom: shuffle as quickly as possible to the exit hatch, and stab Ace in the eye - well, the tentacle that looks most like an eye - if he gets too close.
