I always used the logic that the hitboxes could be justified that the person you where shooting at could prince of Persia their way out of the bullets as opposed to a plane that is a static object, the hit box being their torso that they cant move out of the way. in a fully rendered spell battle, they would be constantly weaving through out the bullet hell

I eagerly await the possibility of a translation of this. Even if this game turns out to be a clunky, imbalanced, and barely-useable mockery of a system even worse than BESM d20, I'm still going to try to arrange a game of it anyway, if only for the sheer novelty of a Touhou RPG that has actual grid-based rules for danmaku. Plus, since this game appears to be very flower-themed, I can't wait to be able to say things like "amigdalus persica is overpowered".

You can definitely create your own Touhou. However, there are also stats for existing characters. Characters statted by page:

52: Kedama ("pilling", fuzzball enemies), Zako Yousei ("small-fry fairy", generic shooty fairy enemy), something (I'm not the translator guy above, so my moonspeak skills are weak -- I think these are the generic Lily-types), Cirno
53: Tewi, Reisen, Mystia, Medicine
54: Aya, Yuuka, Komachi, Shikieiki
55: Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, Youmu

Good representation of the main cast plus some other relevant folks. There's a couple I'd want to see included (but then, you could just make them yourself), but Yuuka's there, so I'm satisfied. So yes, you can be the little Cirno.

/jp/ and /tg/ both like Touhou, but in different ways. /jp/ gushes over the games and the cuteness, while /tg/ usually loves the setting and NPCs. Hence, something like this will, of course, be infinitely more loved in /tg/ than /jp/.

It's because of one of the best fa/tg/uy traits. Namely, that fa/tg/uys are innately driven to *everything* as long as it's cool or can be made cool. For proof, see Pokemon WW2, Touhou campaign threads, etcetera.

Basically, the average channer sees something mildly interesting and goes "LOL NOT RELATED or WEEABOO SHIT". The average fa/tg/uy sees something mildly interesting and goes "mmmm, could be made cool, gotta work it into my campaign somehow".

And Touhou, as a funny Fantasy/Mythology Kitchen Sink setting, is indeed pretty interesting. Hence, quite a few fa/tg/uys caught a shine to it. In all fairness, though, the lolis probably *did* help pique the initial interest. This is /tg/, after all.
