Hey, try not to post these too often. Only once in a while. We don't want people getting sick of them.
Also - here's the latest map. Also, could you please try generating planets? We need more.
    >> Anonymous 06/12/09(Fri)16:04 No.4857174
Remember guys, planets form more or less randomly. If I start to see a grid pattern in the systems or any shit like that I'll RAGE.

I'm trying my best not to - but due to how I arranged the planets to begin with, they're packed too closely. So, in order to consume the remaining space with as few planets as possible, you might see the planets becoming oddly spread out.
I mean, I am looking at the latest sector image - and I am not quite satisfied with it. The latest planets seem too... orderly. As if there's a pattern there.

Holy hell... -200 degrees, give or take 60 depending on ‘summer’ or ‘even more winter’ time of year...uber gravity...but it still has ACTIVE VOLCANOS.
    Oh, and no water.
The Reservation of Society’s Security, Unlimited planet (RSSU) for short, only exists above active volcanos. Floating navy surfs across the waves of grasslands that is harvested for food and processed for a sludge of liquid that substitutes for water. This liquid also doubles as oiling the titans, so some people wonder at the healthiness of consuming the liquid. The many defense lasers are used to carve intricate sculptures in the super dense ice of the planet, or break up any threatening ice bergs. A brave few people venture out of the floating islands above volcanos to try and bring back shards of the ice, and the ones who return are able to sell it for massive quanities of money.

OP I've got a much better planet generator. It's a combination of the Mongoose Traveler planet generator and the existing one I put together. Planet size actually has an impact on gravity, which both have an impact on atmosphere, which has an impact on terrain, hydrographics, and tech level. No more feral worlds with no atmosphere, 300+ temperature, continual forests and 3 billion people.

Check it out and make some planets.

A massive world dominated by grasslands that feed on its exotic atmospheric gasses. The temperature ranges from -20 in the winter to +50 in the hottest portions of the planet in summer.

The vast majority of buildings on the planet are very short and squat, due to the immense gravity present, and most are environmentally sealed. Those living in the flowing seas of grass making due with always having a respirator on hand. There's not much Adeptus Terra presence, only enough preachers of the ecclesiarchy to keep the major population centers faithful to the Imperial Creed. The planet is ruled by a tryanical dictator, who keeps a very large force of enforcers on hand to keep the population under his thumb.

And here's another planet. A tiny world with 1 hour days, next to no gravity, and a thin, tainted atmosphere. The 'population' of 56 are merely the survivors of a shuttle crash. They are held together by a tyrannical dictator (actually the ranking administrator agent on the shuttle) who uses his 'army' of a dozen or so cronies to keep everyone in line. They use what they could salvage from the shuttle to survive the tainted atmosphere, but in all likelyhood they aren't going to make it past the current generation. Rescuing them for information they have could be a good plot hook.

So... I'm thinking, what? A tiny little Pleasure Planet turns out to be a maiden world when the Eldar come a-knocking? Probably somewhere out of the way, I'd say. Defended mostly by mercenaries working for cog-boys or Ecclesiarchy in exchange for tech. I'm going to say, based on the fact that such a small world is still around despite xeno-incursion, that the Eldar have shown up fairly recently to claim the place. Has some potential...

"Listen up. There's a lot of rumors going around about what we're up against here. I'm not going to lie to you, we don't know a whole lot.

Now, I know many of you are worried about your families. And yes, the rumors are true, the enemy has given us the choice to abandon the planet. I know the offer is tempting. Rest assured, every citizen too cowardly to hold a gun is being evacuated as we speak. But let me tell you something else. The enemy says this world is theirs. That its always been theirs, that they built it. Well, I don't know about that, but this city ain't theirs, theses people ain't theirs, these shrines and statues and ships and factories, none of them are theirs. I've served by the lot of you in the past. We stood and we fought on this soil together. Twice we took this rock from the Orks. We built these cities, and we battled at the feet of these temples. We payed for this world in blood, and by The Emperor I say that makes it ours!

Now any of you who want to run away, any of you who wants to start a new life on one of the nearby hell-holes, well... nows your chance. But me? I'm going to stay here, and I'm going to take my gun, and I'm going to trade my services to the local cog-boys for enough ammo to take down each and every xeno-bastard who dares step one foot onto my planet! Now. Who's with me?"
