It was a long night to you. You had no dreams, just like last time. Your mind was clouded with darkness with the occasional image of Selene. Like it or not, she is currently your strongest memory.

The sun peeked through the blinds that lay over the window and rested warmly on your entwined bodies. Neither of you noticed it, but your bodies subconsciously, in search of warmth, ended up cuddling against one another. Her head lay against your chest and your arm around her neck and resting on her back. Half her body was on top of you while the other was out of the blanket that was positioned on the both of you.

You were the first to awake, your eyes slowly opening to take a look at your surroundings. At first, you didn’t notice her. Only when your vision completely sharpened did you see her sleeping on top of you. Naked. You immediately broke into a cold sweat.

You have to get in control of this situation, you think to yourself. You wrap your arms around her and roll to her side of the bed slowly. Her body is limp which tells you she’s still sleeping. After you’ve reached the end of the turn, you let go and she lays there without budging an inch. Plan successful. Or so you think.

As you turn to move to your side of the bed, you feel her hand touch your arm.

“Why’d you move,” you hear her begin in a tired tone. “I was comfortable.”

You can only assume that she’s tired and doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

You see the disappointment in her eyes; you almost can’t believe she’s batshit insane. You sigh, defeated, and lay back down on the bed. You note that her robe has come loose but she doesn’t seem to care, or take notice. You’re not even sure if she can hear you. You’re still nervous, however, when she proceeds to assume her earlier position, expecting to be harmed at any second. A few minutes later, you notice she’s stopped moving and has gone back to sleep.

    “This sounds familiar…”

Suddenly, your body coils in pain. Your eyes shoot open and you see Selene holding her the handle of her bat which has relocated itself in your ribs. You could barely spit out words from the blood that you coughed out of your mouth. “The hell… was that for…?” She seems inexplicably angry. “Why the hell do you have an erection!?” You glance toward your crotch and notice she’s right. You remember the way she was laying on you and just what would happen if you were to suddenly “grow”. As she lifts her bat up again for another swing, you roll off the bed in defense. “It’s the morning!”

You exhale loudly to compose yourself as you explain the situation. “It’s all simple biology and subconscious,” you begin, “during the night, we were both cold and our bodies were seeking warmth, which led us to each other. And then, while we were together, blood began to rush to my crotch – NOT because I was sexually stimulated, but to…” you realize when she’s above you that she’s no longer listening. All you see in her eyes is her desire to kill you.

“Hm?” In a split second moment, you sense something. “Get down!” You tackle her to the ground just as the top of the hotel is blown off. You cover her with your body as debris and rubble falls from the sky. You wince as large pieces slam against your body but you endure. “What the hell was that…?” You think to yourself as you begin to look around.

Before moving, you look downward at Selene who only stares at you. “Are you all right?” She doesn’t respond for a few minutes, but, when she does, it’s one of anger. “Get off of me!” she says while shoving you away. You roll your eyes at her ungrateful attitude and stand up to assess the situation.

    Affection Rise!: Selene

You flinch as you feel something land against your back. It’s your clothes, which you quickly put on. When you finish, you hear Selene’s heal click against the wooden floor. She says nothing and you say nothing back. In the silence, you hear another voice.

    “Artillery, fire!”

You both duck to the ground as you’re fired upon by an unknown enemy. You won’t last much longer in this area, but you can’t exactly get up and leave.

You close your eyes tight as you get on all fours. Your finger nails begin to grow long and sharp, the hairs on your body begin to extend and cover you. Your nose extends along with your mouth; your teeth grow longer and sharper. You open your eyes; your pupils begin to shift, morphing from their usual appearance to a much more animalistic version. You give out a roar as you raise your giant hand and slam it against the wooden floor, shattering it and opening the way to the room below.

Upon your entrance to the room below, which was conveniently empty, you shift out of your Bear Form to conserve energy. You press your back against the wall, away from any windows, out of breath. You glance at Selene, who’s fine, but slightly awestruck. You try to assess the situation.

“Selene, what do you make of this?” She looks away as she begins to formulate her thoughts. “I don’t know. Whatever the case may be, they aren’t looking to take us alive, or completely unharmed. And, whoever they are, they certainly aren’t being secretive about it.” She raises good points; you nod in agreement. You stand near the side of the window for recon purposes and you take a quick look outside; they’re still firing upstairs. That means they don’t know you’ve left yet. Before you finish your peck, you notice a familiar figure.

Your head begins to ache for a few moments before the pain subsides. But, as you did, another headache soon appeared.

In an attempt to hurry it up, you open the door quickly, just like ripping off a Band-Aid. To your surprise, it’s the hotel’s receptionist. “I’m sorry, but you need to l-“ before she could finish, Selene’s bat sliced through the door, hit her on the back of her head, and slammed her against the ground. You lift the receptionist in your arms. You very well cannot leave her to be destroyed along with this place. “How noble of you,” Selene says with a snide attitude. “What the hell was that for?” You spit back as you check your recent victim for any serious injury. “Well, I assumed it was an enemy. How the hell was I supposed to know it wasn’t?” You sigh, not even bothering to try to sway her with logic and reasoning. The both of you dash out of the room toward the staircase only to hear heavy footsteps. Thinking quickly, you break through a door to another room. However, this one wasn’t empty. Sitting on the bed, feet dangling over the edge, was a little girl. You thought it, but Selene said it. “Oh, you have to be SHITTING me!”

Pretty sure I'm not, I do things my way and enjoy it. You have to think about how you got into this situation in the first place. that implies you have some sort of prior relation and possibly amnesia from selene hitting you in your head. and somewhere deep down she likes you in such a way not to kill you but still harm you like the psychopath that she is and in a way keep you like a pet.

If we don't include "realism" you can probably imagine that the people after her are seeking some form of vigilante justice as the police never did anything in most imaginary settings. but if you include it you can probably go the other way with a bonny and clyde ordeal where you are running from the police as a pair where you are being taking partially against your will due to some form of damage heading to mexico or some such, but this is bizzare due to the assasins guild covering for her, hence the only reason you would really be going that way is that she likes you enough to help you escape as you probably have nobody activley covering up your crimes for you.

but then theres the part that hanging with somebody thats psychopathic has the effect to bring people around them down to thier "level" so in the event of being dragged along for an extended period of time that you cant remember you are probably a lot less stable yourself.
    >> Arawak !B.eX9tKQbw 07/04/09(Sat)19:42 No.5094000
drawing from this why cant I embrace the madness and let loose? I never liked people and generally dont care for their suffering, and would enjoy.

but as far as the choices all you goody two shoes made is completly out of character for selene to even think of brining you wherever shes going. I made my choices based the the alternative timeframe after every voting bit up to the point I got bored. as I dont think any of you are properly assessing the situation you are in and are just saying what you yourself will do when placed in said situation.

If I was placed in this situation with armed guards trying to kill me I wouldn't take the chance to let anyone do such. and since I feel that I could actively do what I want to do around another unstable personality disregarding peoples assumed "right and wrong" I would eventually degrade as to what I can only describe as a hedonist, one that indulges in the pain and suffering of others because of the torment I have endured.

btw enjoy your terrible sentence structure and intermittent spelling mistakes.

“Remember our deal.” You say while giving her a slow nod. She smirks at the thought while lifting her bat and resting it on her shoulders. The soldiers looked at one another for a second before pointing their guns at her.

She quickly swats the heavy gun away and gives in underhand swing at the man. He’s sent headfirst into the wall behind him, his body becoming limp for a moment before twitching. His comrade turned to him to assist, but he soon met a similar fate. Selene steps out of the door and gives a two hand swing toward his chest, sending him down the hallway upon impact. She walked slowly to the man who had begun moving from the wall he had just been recently acquainted with.

He looked up at her and she looked down at him, fear in his eyes and insanity in hers. She knelt down, proceeding to continuously beat him with a bat, her hits growing in intensity even though he had long fell unconscious. She picked up his gun and pointed it at him while a wide grin caressing her face.

Nobody fucking listened to me. This is one of the reasons we need to ditch her. We could have -easily- taken care of the guards ourselves, without this mess. And to the guy speaking about her warming up to us, except for a few moments - hint, a few moments when you've only been traveling with her for less than 24 hours is NOT good.

We need to do something about her to prevent her from killing more people. Obviously killing her wouldn't be the best choice. I think we should turn her in somewhere down the line; at the least they'd hold her in custody while they found information on her.

Alternatively, should the opportunity arise, we could leave her to be captured or killed by the people gunning for us now. Less evil than doing it ourselves, and less complications. Risk of her coming after us should she survive/escape and knows we did it on purpose, but I think we can handle her easily.

Yeah, because her taking him down when we told her to is obviously out of order.
And a fighter who kills their opponent...Shocking!
And as for only showing us a few moments of actual conversaton, we did lift her out of her home for no reason she can understand, if someone did that to you, you'd be wary of them too, a few moments is quite amazing all things considered.
I think we should stop her, some day we should give her the choice, killing or not, but for now we can only order her not to, she isn't attached to us enough yet and doesn't know us well enough yet to actually care what we think or if we leave her.
So stop her for now, we can talk to her about her killing fetish later and deal with it after we're out of here.

You approach her slowly as you see her finger wrap around the trigger. “Selene,” you say to her in a barely audible voice, but she hears you regardless. “If you kill him, you’ll always be a killer. You will be nothing more than that and your existence will be that of little meaning. Is that what you want?” Her finger switches and shakes at your words. She begins to contemplate what you have just said to her, wondering if it holds meaning to her.

She notices you have backed away and are silently watching her to see what she does. Inside her mind, the thoughts of killing her opponent are ringing loudly and it is driving her insane, farther and farther down the path of insanity she goes the more she tries to resist her urges.

She stands up and begins to fire the weapon into the ceiling with her head held low until the magazine was emptied. She tosses the gun near her bloodied opponent before walking away in silence, her bat dragging against the red hall rug.

You stare at the man for a few moments and sigh before grabbing the kid by hand and jogging slowly to catch up to Selene, but, at the same time, making sure to stop a few paces behind her.

You notice the firing has stopped outside as you proceed down the stairs. Given their actions, you know they haven’t left, which causes slightly paranoia inside you.

You give a loud sigh as you attempt to assess the situation. You feel if you stay inside you won’t last much longer. Tired of running, you go through the front door and meet your attackers.

As if sensing the situation, tumbleweed blows by and dust is kicked around with every breeze. It’s bright outside and there are barely any clouds, but the appearance of the sun betrays the actual temperature outside.

All in a line, in a perimeter, are those who threaten your life. Much to your surprise, they do not fire. You wonder why until you take notice to a woman standing in the center of the soldiers with her hand held in the air; a signal for ceasefire, no doubt.

    “It’s been a while, hasn’t it, Wen?”

Upon hearing her voice, a migraine manifests.

“I’ve been looking all over for you. I think it’s time you came home; your real home.”

    “And where’s that?”

Her expression becomes amused at your questions.

You ignore her words as you contemplate your actions.

    Thanks.

Looks like surrenders the best option at the moment. There's always Bear Form if we get into a pinch, I guess.

Once we're a bear with the Mustache of Command, everyone will be in so much awe of our awesomeness that we can do whatever we want.

If that isn't going to work, then Wind Step to get right next to her, give her a bear hug, and tell her that we'll let her go and go into captivity once we're sure that Selene, the little girl and the receptionist are safely away from her Goon Platoon.

    >[x] Surrender (all will be spared)
The woman came expecting a figth. Why should we give her what she desires? The numbers are against us. If we fight now, we may survive but the whole town, and our companion, will be caught in the struggle.
Perhaps giving up will lend us some answers in the long run. Knowledge is power, etc (at least in the case of Wen/Adahn).

    This.

So, some woman comes looking for us with an assload of soldiers and you think we can just light step over to her and take her hostage with our current abilities?
Give up, playing it safe is better than having everyone die and us still going to jail, probably in no shape to even attempt and escape.

Give the 'stache to Selene, tell her not to forget your second deal & announce you're surrendering.

Get on knees with hands on back of head.

    >> Anonymous 07/04/09(Sat)21:56 No.5094991
Personally, I think some silliness with a mustachioed bear would be much more entertaining than the seriousness of surrendering. This doesn't -have- to be serious business.

But a mustachioed bear is ALWAYS serious business. The only things that could make it MORE serious business would be a top hat and monocle.

    “Damn it.”

You place the receptionist on the ground in front of you and slowly let the hand of the little girl go. The child looks at you solemnly, as if she wanted to stay with you. You give her a comforting expression to prevent her from crying, but tears still form in her eyes. Soldiers, all under the command of the woman in front of you, rushed the scene and “rescued” your former baggage. Selene didn’t budge in an inch however, though your enemies attempted to forcefully move her. However, when they did, they caught sight of the blood on the end of her bat.

“Sir, there’s blood on her weapon.”
    “Arrest her as well.”
    “Understood.”

They pulled her arms behind her back and handcuffed them, doing the same to you after removing your sword from your person. You’re led to the woman in front who is grinning from ear to ear.

“To be honest, I would have loved to kill you here.”

You are pushed away, given no chance to respond to her words. With her fists on her hips, she begins to walk where the two of you are being led.

“I’m guaranteed a promotion for this. There’s no way the brass can deny my hard work now.”

    End of Part 4.

I hope you enjoyed it. I can be expected to resume tomorrow at 10 AM EST. If I will not be able to, I will notify you.

You move quickly, almost like an instant, for a short distance. It does no good if your opponent can see you/follow you, however.

Hopefully we can escape from prison due to them not knowing about us being a powerstriking bear.

Probably not, though. They seemed pretty... prepared. We should probably get all the information we can on the Septima from Selene during transit. Stealthily though, because they apparently don't know we are missing our memories. Best to keep it that way.
