I've got something of a reputation with my gaming group, for making everything tie together. I've used this, in the past, to cross the line with the group and get away with it, both as a player and as an ST. As for where that line is, it depends upon the group. I'm pretty solidly up for anything, as long as it doesn't leave anyone sitting there wondering when it'll be their turn.

I do not believe that noose would have killed her. Most nooses must be tight across the neck, so as to provide resistance against the head and break the spine. Not the huge amount of leeway in that noose. The victim should have fallen backwards out of the noose.

    Gentlemen, this was no suicide.

I don't think something went INTO the booth via that hole, look at the distribution of the glass shards on the floor. The larger shards are on the outside of the booth, which implies that something exited the booth via that hole. Given the very ragged nature of the fractured glass, its possible that the edge of the hole was used as a weapon during some struggle.

Based on the evidence so far, here's my guess at the events that played out:

The victim goes into the booth, presumably to make a phone call. The killer slips in behind here, and tries to stab her. However, the girl tries to defend herself, and in the struggle a part of the attacker (presumably the hand with the blade) goes through the window, scraping along the fractured glass. It's possible the girl managed to turn the blade on the attacker, which would explain the volume of blood: some of it actually isn't hers. Unfortunately, the attacker makes a lethal stab to the throat and leaves, leaving the bloody footprint. The victim, bleeding out from a lethal wound, tries to get to her feet, smearing blood on the walls of the booth, before bleeding out in the corner of the booth and dying.

Reassemble the glass, then check for fingerprints and body oils. If it's on the inside, the killer struck from inside. If nothing, there was an exterior shatter. If both sides, across from each other, the scene was arranged.

Take notice of this, Mr. Palmer... the noose-loop itself is not particularly tight, however the weight of the body, paired with the bend of the neck, drew-out just enough of the slack to keep it from falling out. The position of the body does indeed indicate it was not originally in this pose, but instead elsewhere long enough for rigormortis to contort the body severely enough that its own weight would be unable to straighten it out - an oversight on the killers part. Yes, this was indeed a murder later disguised as a suicide - rigormortis would not be able to have set in swiftly enough for the victim to have somehow been in that position if they had died from the hanging alone. But this cover was poorly done, it seems, as far too many clues pointing away from suicide are left behind, the stiff curvature of the victim being the most obvious. The question being this... Based on the poor cover-up, did they want to be discovered for their crime, and if so, why?
    >> Anonymous 08/14/09(Fri)12:04 No.5452226
    >>5452158

Possible, but unlikely. Assuming there was some kind of struggle, the killer would have wanted to leave as soon as possible. A struggle in such a confined space would have caused a lot of noise, and possibly drawn witnesses. Given that the killer would have a lot of blood on them after the kill (both theirs and the victims), hanging around to change the crime scene would not fit their M.O. Leaving the crime scene as soon as possible would be.

There is blood visible on some of the shards on the ground, Shas'o. Also, the larger shards are on the outside of the booth, pointing towards something exiting the booth via that hole.

Another thing we seem to have overlooked: the foot print. Are there others? Can we figure out which direction the killer left in? Could we determine a basic profile of the killer based on it? I'm no shoe expert but at a guess I would say the killer was wearing men's shoes, this could point to the killer being male.

Don't assume that every criminal is a mastermind. It is likely that the girl was killed, possibly even unintentionally, and the body was made to look like a suicide in a desperate ploy to avoid punishment. No long term plan, simply what they could manage at the time.

If the crime was premeditated, then the body would have been arranged in the noose as quickly as possible after death, resulting in less time for the rigor mortis we see and have already identified.

Hmmm. Check the throat to check for bruising patterns. I suspect we will find that the subject died of asphyxiation, but caused by the firm grip of a mans hands rather than the noose. The killer would have done his best to arrange a suicide that would hide or incorporate the original cause of death.

I actually did this one once. She was having an affair with the killer, and she would come to this phone booth to call him so that their numbers didn't show up on each other's caller IDs. Well, she was starting to break it off, I'll get to why in a moment.

    Here's what happened.
She was breaking it off. He might have been fine with that, but she was also going to tell his wife and her husband. She wanted to come clean.
Our killer couldn't stand that, so he planned this whole set up. At night, she'd go out for a walk like she usually did, or at least, that's what she told her husband. What she was really doing was going to her old spot to talk to our killer.
The victim waited for the usual ring, and when it came, the killer set her up perfectly, and he shot her through the glass. That's not where all the blood came from, though. It came from when he stabbed her. He stabbed her in the groin, and in the abdomen.
Because she was having a baby. I can't tell you whether it was his or her husbands. Doctor Mallard should be able to tell us very soon, but it was a baby nonetheless, and that was what set him off. She was brutally stabbed, and her baby was deliberately killed.

But the killer left one thing behind. A shoe print. Not many people would have feet that big, would they? And not many people would have thought about wearing business shoes to go kill their mistress, would they?
But you would, Mister Michaels, wouldn't you? And those aren't the same shoes you were wearing the other day, are they? Do you mind if we check in your closet?

I think the scene of the second girls death is itself a great clue.

    Consider the following:

She was using a phonebooth. In this day and age, a girl as old as her would likely have had a cellphone. This means that she wanted to make a call that she would not want to make from either her home or cell phone. She didn't want caller ID or other forms of tracking to show who she ways. It was important enough for her to go out and use a public phone booth at night, alone.

I think it is possible, nay, LIKELY, that she was in the process of making an anonymous call to the local police when the killer struck. This would explain the killer's motivation quite clearly: she was going to turn him in. Who he is and what he had done before this are both requiring further investigation.

There are no handprints or smears, and the wound on her neck is negligable.
She was stabbed in the womb. That part I'm sure of. She was having an affair with someone, and they didn't like that she was pregnant because it would ruin everything for them.

This is clearly a set of ritual murders dedicated to the Dark Powers. The fake suicide was simply meant to throw off the Arbites so that the all seeing eye of the Holy Orders of the Emperor's Inquisition would not be turned this way. Clearly this world harbors cults of the entity known as Khorne, or possibly Slaanesh. As such, there is but one answer for such rampant heresy.

This would mean that the killer was already in the process of stalking her when she left to go use the phone. For whatever reason (either an accidental witness or a remorseful accomplice) he already had reason to believe she would try something like this.

Can we get a confirmation on her pregnancy? If it is true, then there the additional spurned lover angle (as has already been touched on by my fellow investigators) which may turn out to be the sole cause of this terrible incident. But if not, than it was clearly an intervention on the part of the killer to hide his previous crime.

Isn't even a noose. Se was crawling on the latticework, attempting to hang a pinata from the loop, and fell. The girl under her was sitting on the stoll, and when she fell, the other girl stood up, knocking the stool over. She didn't fall backwards out of the loop, because she managed to grab onto the rope. This meant that she strangled slowly, unable to drop to the floor out of fear of death (the floor looks to be about 10 feet below her, and she wasn't bright enough to realize that ths would probably just break her legs).

    >>5451941
She was being attacked by a serial killer, who ws going at her with a knife. She ran into a nearby phonebooth to protect herself better, and managed to hold the door shut against his best efforts. It was then that a helpful bussinessman came by, scaring off the assailant. Seeing she was quickly loosing blood (the wide, thick spray patterns mean that the killer must have hit a major vein), he attempted to perform first aid. However, as we can see, he could not get to her, as her log was locked in a position that prevented him from opening the door. So, he attempted to break the glass. We can see that this didn't work out as planned. Her blood was seeping out of the booth, and he, not realizing the blood on his shoe, turned to find another phonebooth, to summon aid. Good work Anonymous, I think we've got motive for the second murder, and I think I may have figured out the overall motive for both murders: to discredit the general and diplomat. The second girl was about to go public with her affair and pregnancy; the diplomat would be stuck in a media circus for months over it. However, this alone wouldn't link it to the first murder, were it at any other point in time. However, the diplomat's daughter revealing an affair and a illegitimate child shortly after the death of the general's daughter? It would cause a media frenzy on an untold scale, forever sinking their political careers. The timing is simply too perfect to be coincidental. Obviously the 2nd girl was an accomplice to the motives of the killer of the 1st girl, possibly unwittingly. Perhaps fortunately for the diplomat, the 2nd killer stepped in before she could go public. The question is this: why has the 1st killer gone to great lengths to discredit the general and diplomat?

Let's look at the clues we have:

    - Abdominal wound
    - Exterior and interior glass shards
    - Bloody footprint

The footprint implies that someone has left the scene of the crime. The size and make of the shoe imply a male foot, and the exterior shards imply that the shot came from inside. The only signs of struggle are the blood and there's only a single wound, so we can safely assume that she entered the booth willingly with a male associate.

From inside, with her trust, he could shoot her however he wished. Perhaps he aimed to kill her, panicked and got an abdominal shot. He was aiming at an upward angle if that is the case, as the break in the glass is quite high. This is, of course, assuming that this was a gunshot. There is no casing, so the wound could have been caused by some other object.

This would make sense in regards to the glass being shattered, and it provides a more logical angle of attack. Yes, I see now. He threw back his hand with the object in it to ready his attack and broke the glass in doing so. He then caused a single wound.

For some reason, however, he was around long enough to get the sole of at least one shoe drenched in blood. Was the wound that bad? Or did he stick around?

Either way, I want Anon finding contact details for all male associates on the double. I shall return to the scene of the crime in order to dig up and decipher more clues. If any associate cannot provide an alibi, bring him to /tg/ for immediate question.

If he does not speak, we give him to /v/.

Look at the body. There's a huge pool of blood in her lap, and a bit running down her dress. While it's safe to say that she had her throat slashed, she was stabbed in the torso, repeatedly. She was stabbed while she was already down. She was also stabbed where it would hurt a woman the most, which is exactly where a baby would be.
There are only two reasons to stab a woman in the vagina. One of them is sexual sadism, the other is to murder her child.
This crime scene doesn't indicate sexual sadism, and this goes beyond some stranger trying to get their rocks off. This was a crime of passion, and there's nothing more passionate than killing your secret lover because she's carrying a child and threatening to out you.

Gentleman, at first I thought I must have mixed up the samples, but its been confirmed:

Both victims were pregnant. The first 6 weeks along, the second was harder to identify due to the damage, but probably only 4 weeks.

Victim the first has shown light signs of bruising to the throat, but not enough to indicate actual choking. Although soffucation was clearly the cause of death.

-the hole in the glass and the pieces on both sides of the door imply someone broke through it from the outside. Most likely to open the door that the female was holding.
-There are too many blood stains for it to be a gunshot. They leave almost no blood from the entrance wound and (if piercing) large exit wounds, which would be localised in a single large blot. The multiple irregular blood splashes imply a struggle.
-wounds to the abdominal cavity do not often cause such profuse bleeding, as internal bleeding occurs most often (the largest blood vessels are close to the spine). That means the stomach wound did not kill the victim. Her throat was cut.
-There doesn't appear to be any blood on the receiver, which means she was already holding the phone when she was attacked. Not alot of criminals would risk attacking someone on the phone at the risk of a short response time (such as the dispatcher calling a squad car that luckily turned out to be just around the corner). There were other reasons for killing her.

motive: Someone chased down a female headed for a phone booth, broke in and stabbed her several times, then made sure she was dead by slashing her throat. Likely she ran for the phone to call for help. But the act of cutting the throat implied the perp had to verify the victim was dead. That is rare in robberies.

Conclusion: this is not a robbery, but likely an assassination.

Specifically, graphic descriptions of sex are not performed, rape is implied if it occurs, but not flat-out spoken of usually. We prefer for the heroes to be in the nick of time to PREVENT the rape of the virgin princess, not stop it midway or avenge it after its already done.

I don't need to, because you'll come along quietly. Your plan has been foiled, and the girl has been saved. Not even your attempt to kill off the SWAT teams will succeed. Did you know the service corridors at the aquarium have emergency pumps in case of a mass flood? They should be kicking in right about... now. Your "lulz" have been denied, Anonymous. Come along quietly, and I'll guarantee you'll live.
