    Comrade 70:
"Bad news. It is a big base. We've got one last obstacle to jump before we reach their original landing site where the leadership caste dwell. I'd rather have you prepared before we attack there."

Your haulers should return to the frontline at the beginning of Day 2 of Month 2 - so you can rest your forces until then, if you like.
    >> Anonymous 09/09/09(Wed)01:01 No.5784473
    Loot Tons of Heavy metal
    Bring more Haulers

Dedicate 20 Artillery, 20 Laser HCDs, and 20 Loot Haulers to the combat. If we don't have 20 Laser HCDs available right now, wait until they're made, then send 'em in.
If the Laser HCDs are available now, send in 10 haulers from the ore mines (for now, at least) to pick up any looted minerals.

    Sell captured Kil'thweq to Alpharange.
    >> Anonymous 09/09/09(Wed)01:01 No.5784477
I think we should focus on napalm and stun gas for shells right now. Napalm will cook our enemy in his power armor but only deal damage over time to us. Gas lets us get prisoners for trade. Keep enough HE to crack open buildings and for some emergencies.
    >> Anonymous 09/09/09(Wed)01:01 No.5784480
    >>5784429
In that case, increase production on HCD and send them up. As many as we can produce and get their in a feasible amount of time. Do we know how much larger the base is?

When we get reinforcements we should send in just what they know we have from the last time. Make them think we didn't restock and were just looting. Hold back the reinforcements to see if they're planning another ambush.

Here's a rough draft of what our facility could basically look like.

The blue square is a representation of our main facility.

The thin black line is our smaller security wall, the thicker black line is our super security wall.

    The gray areas are gates.

The green dots are laser turrets along the outer perimeter wall.

The red dots are artillery turrets located deep within for firing up and out.

What are your thoughts and opinions?

Each construction facility - you have 6 - can make 12 on any type of HCD and send it to the frontlines per day.
However, only the Kil'thweq Frontline facility has them arrive right away.

So, what type of drones would you like to produce en masse?

Know that this will put your gas consumption through the roof.

Also, Uni-peace is harassing us to the south.
We've seen so far that they're using a combination of organics, including natives ($$$) as an offensive force.

I declare the following be used as our fighting teams vs. Uni-peace:
Each squad consists of the following:
4 Stun Artillery / Napalm Artillery / Melee Stunrod HCDs
4 Laser / Stun Gun / Flamer HCDs
4 Light combat drones, outfitted with Stun guns (and Lasers/Flamers if they'll fit) to act as spotters
3 Heavy haulers (Carries ammo in, carries captives out).

These shall be called "Safety" squadrons, in tradition with naming our slavers "Freedom" and our war-teams "Peace".
2 of these squads should be enough to at least slow Uni-peace down if they attack us in the south. We can produce more if needed later.

Thermobaric weapons work in two stages - they're explosives.
The first stage is a shock wave strong enough to strip flesh from bone and basically shatter anything that isn't heaivly reinforced.
The second stage incinerates everything within the radius, setting it on fire.
It's absolutely devastating against any light units and all organics.

My thinking was that if they're so fierce and imperialistic, they may not have had a chance to get a specimen yet.

And if they haven't, telling Lemmington that AlphaRange has interest in them should raise their value.

Since Lemmington and AlphaRange are at odds, Lemmington may see them as a slave force/frontline solider that Alpha may use against them.

Yes, you do have stun artillery. It's like fragmentation except instead, it uses highly deformable metal - the explosion and high velocity is usually enough to mold the shrapnel into a nonlethal, ball-bearing sort of shape.

While Uni-Peace does offer us the chance to get natives as slaves, there are still miles and miles and miles of unclaimed territory as far as we can tell. That must have many natives in it.

It is my opinion that we should simply burn Uni-Peace to the ground. There is such a mix there. The sonic weapons don't work on synthetics, so their android population would be unaffected.

We've got range and fire on our side. We need total annihilation. The rewards for a sliver of native slaves isn't worth the risk of getting in close range, on their turf, when they've got such destructive capabilities.

Take no chances. Take no causalities. Take no prisoners.

That sounds like it'd tear up everything in a specific radius, and not stun anything except by knocking it unconscious with organ damage and bloodloss.
Multiple-warhead Concussive weaponry would do that better but Concussive weaponry only works for a few minutes, not long enough to run up and Taze stuff.

    +585 tons/day
    -577 fuel/day

You exchange your Kil'thweq prawn slaves for cruise missile schematics.

You build 31 artillery drones and 29 assault drones. Due to the fact you have now built roads to the frontline, they arrive immediately.

    Your frontline forces:
    58 Artillery Drones
    31 Assault Drones

Cruise Missles come in two payload variants at the moment:

10 with Napalm Artillery / Napalm Artillery / Short-range flamer
Have them start burning away forest using their lasers, if they have no enemies to engage, so that the enemy can't use cover against us.

I recommend a new Facilities batch of Harvesters and Haulers for an untapped Gas Node.

I recommend that Idle Heavy Construction Drones build a Forward Defensive Wall near our Battle staging area. We need to hit this "Obstacle before their main base" As Well As Their Main Base. In the likely event of our artillery being targeted, I'd like them to have a defensive perimeter. Make it double high, so that JumpJetting is less of an issue. Our shells still fly ballistic, so vertical access is good. Just keep them in a bunker zone.

You evenly spread your napalm over the powered armour and several suits already are starting to collapse from heat, their occupants cooked alive. Distracted by coping with the heat and escaping it, neither of the largest concentrations notice the cruise missiles raining from the heavens. Both of the squads are immediately wipe fom the face of the earth in a massive explosion, while the two largest entrances are suddenly blocked off by a tidal wave of liquid fire. The synths descend upon the infantry, the synthsquids shocking them to death while the Astronautilus tears them limb from limb, almost a hundred tentacles tearing the prawns apart. Yet, these are the only words you hear from him:

I too am concerned at this development.

I am OVERJOYED that we removed their power armor so quickly. Which also makes me suspicious. I think that with a tunneling enemy, the ground may be rigged to collapse, bringing our artillery UNDERGROUND. Sadly, I have no idea on how to scan the ground. I don't think we have sensor tech that can do this yet.

I say continue napalm on the surface Kil'thweq. Ignore the underground ones until We and Centauri coordinate.

We don't know what they eat/survive off of. They could eat rocks for all we know. Additional data is required.

I suspect that the Majority of their base is underground. Up here is just a spacepad, some storage facilities, and some habitat. They need more construction facilities, and power plants. Several of them are disintegrated by the heat ray turrets but that doesn't stop them. A massive salvo is unleashed, dozens of high explosive shells rocketing towards the thruster - followed by a cruise missile, and then another cruise missile. Yet... no. Option 1: Can't kill ship
    -ship kills army
    Option 2: Can kill ship
    -ship falls on army

A cruise only has a radius of about 10km or less anyway, and thus the fallout will reach our troops, and the blastwave will push them, but not kill them.

Collorary: If AlphaRange has nukes. Then they've already won. Copter's get to each factions space in one turn. Copter nukes. All enemy factions lose HQ.

I posit, that they have NOT the nukes, else, they would have used them by now.

Another missile soars through the air, smashing into the thruster - this time, it suddenly bursts into flames, the leaking fuel exploding violently. The thruster comes flying off in fragments with a gigantic gash turn in the hull. Meanwhile, artillery fire focuses on another thruster, two more cruise missiles flying into to heavily damage it. Combined with the damage caused with the explosion, this thruster falls off, tearing off thousands of tons of the hull with it and crashing into the crater from whence it came. Only one thruster remains on that side - and it's obvious that if the ship takes any more damage, it will fall from the heavens.
However, Comrade 70 requires aid. Although many of the damned aliens are being dispatched, there are just too damn many. "I can't hold them off - I need napalm support and quickly!" It's obvious the Astronautilus' shell is taking loads of damage - and it won't hold for much longer. Barely any assault drones are left either.

    TradeStar:
    78 Artillery Drones
    19 Assault Drones

    Centauri Synthetics:
    104 Synthsquids
    1 Astronautilus

    Kil'thweq:
    138 Shockwave Infantry
    21 Lightning Infantry

You've probably done sufficient damage to the ship for now to divert some of your artillery.
    Use a few naplam's

1* Napalm Cruise missile and 38 * Napalm Artillery shells comin' right up, good sir!

that'll be enough to fry at least 80 of the 160 prawns.

For the other 40 artillery, just send whatever cruise HEs and Artillery HEs we have left. Hit it with another 2 Napalm Cruises and it should fall.

    FOCUS ON THE LAST THRUSTER!

The soldiers on the ship will die when it crashes.

Focusing on them now is a waste.

    Tell 70 to withdraw.

Focus HE on the last thruster.

Fire some napalm artillery into the breaches of the hull.

    Save the napalm missiles.

I feel that the progress on the Mothership is moving along nicely.

Let's spare 20 Artilleries to pepper Napalm into the Infantry crowds *Unless the mothership is blocking their ballistic Trajectories* Then use Direct LOS fire.

Use lasers to take down infantry near the AstroNautilius. that should minimize friendly fire (napalm, lol) to his ship.

The soldiers aren't on the ship, they were away from the ship's liftoff ground and are engaging our ground forces.

    Oh.

Then spend a portion of the artillery on napalming them. Make sure to tell 70 to get clear.
