    CONTENT!
What would the proper "knock your ass out" ammo be for a infiltration type: good ol' Stick'n'Shock, or Capsule Rounds + Narcojet? I mean yes, 16S damage vs. Impact (+1AP), but expensive as fucking hell and you stand a chance of actually killing the guy you might want to interrogate Jack Bauer style later on. Also, I keep hearing to mix in DMSO but what's the point if you're already shooting them?

Move-by-wire is the most fun to roleplay. At least for me, as its a computer getting you from A -> B, so you can describe all sorts of fucked up contortions and twists as your body, in some alien-puppet method, covers the distance in the most fluid and inhuman way possible.

It also cost a fortune. Level 2 of that shit costs you 32 bp. And yes, it's possible to pump it to level 3 in chargen for 53 bp (resticted gear advantage from Companion 5 bp, rest is it's cost) which leaves you with whole 2 bp to buy everythign other you need.

More Essence = more room to stuff in cyberware. Also, penalties on healing rolls (default) and social penalties (optional, Augmentation).

    Move-by-wire + Reaction Enhancers.

Max Total Benefits: +9 Reaction, +3 to Dodge Skill, +3 Initiative Passes.

Of course, you really can't afford the best of both Move-by-wire Reaction Enhancers at chargen, but in the long run some combination of the two is your best bet mechanically.

    Enjoy ur seizures.

Seriously, nobody knows one way or another? I must get my ULTIMATE GHOST ARCHETYPE on.

Also, as for the Move-By-Wire problem I'd just take two ranks and a shitload of Jazz inhalers. +9 Reaction is useless when most races top out at 9 Augmented anyway (7 if you're a dorf).
    >> Anonymous 09/11/09(Fri)15:54 No.5818953
    >>5818678

Reaction cap is 9. With move-by-wire 3, you get +6 to your reaction, so with basic reaction of 3, you get all the benefits. But that dodge skill bonus is fucking awesoem.

... and I am not sure if paing 5 essence for it is really worth it. I mean, even alphaversion cost 4 essence.

    >> Anonymous 09/11/09(Fri)15:59 No.5819031
    >>5818990
As a combat monster you NEED at least 2 passes to survive, but cyberware isn't strictly necessary to get it.

See: the aforementioned "shitload of Jazz inhalers"
    >> Anonymous 09/11/09(Fri)16:03 No.5819100
    >>5818025

That doesn't actually happen anymore - you don't twitch either, it's all micro-tremors. Besides only a pathetic DM would do that - it's not like optimization lets you do as much broken as in DnD.

    >>5818606

Interestingly Vampires and other Essence draining creatures are really useful - they don't take anything that a Mundane requires, but more than that, the best way to Awaken is to experience insanely potent trauma/emotion and that's essential to the Essence Drain (any emotion can be used).

So Vampires probably create a few Awakened now and then.

The fact that they lose a little Essence isn't that bad - because the best mages all have a degree of cyber/bioware anyway.

How does biocompatibility advantage from Agmentation work?

So let's say, that my character buys alphaware wired reflexes 2, do I calculate the cost like this 3*0,8*0,9, for total cost of 2,16 essence, or 3*0,7 for sligthly less 2,1 essence?

    >> Anonymous 09/11/09(Fri)18:07 No.5820779

50% from Delta-grade Bioware or Type O System quality (30BP to treat ALL bio as Delta)
    10% from Biocompatibility quality
50% from Bio total being less than Cyber

So that would be a rating 3 Synaptic Booster (normally 1.5) for 0.3375 Essence, or a rating 3 Adrenaline Pump for (normally 2.25) 0.50625.

How necessary is the Electronics Skill Group for an Infiltrator really? I keep seeing it mentioned in the books and FAQs, but shouldn't taking the Hardware skill alone and packing a Rating 3 Agent be enough?

Bioware tops out at 60%, with the Biocompatability(Bioware) Quality and Delta-grade Bio implants.

Cyberware tops out at 70%, with Biocompatability(Cyberware), the Enhanced Protein Exchange(Adapsin) genetweak, and Delta-grade Cyber implants.

It's in the Chemistry chapter of Arsenal, page 82 under Compounds. 10¥ a dose lets you add Contact as a vector to any toxin. The reason I was confused about people recommending it for the Narojet bullets is because shooting someone should definitely count as INJECTION, and if you miss them/ping their armor it wouldn't count as the skin contact necessary for Contact.

Knife throwing is harder to do, and it'll never be as effective as just shanking someone with your weapon focus, but it can be done. The Power Throw power from Street Magic, combined with Krav Maga's Ready Weapon as a Free Action are gonna be your bare essentials, adding levels of Improved Ability(Throwing) and Battle Sense as needed.

Honestly, how shit is this character? It's the first SR4 dude I've made in YEARS, and completely forgot how the system worked in the interim:

    http://docs.google.com/View?id=dhmn92vn_10cz8p7hd9

    Notes:
-Yes, I have fluff reasons for Wanted and Records on File.
-Predator/Fake Liscenses/Con/Actioneer Clothes: It's a high-class heist game, so I have to look somewhat presentable while not in full NINJA! mode. "Why yes, I am just xxxxx's perfectly normal bodyguard, do not mind me."
-Lack of programs: GM houserule that we get Common Use programs up to our comm's System rating, and our party Hacker is starting with a shitload of Ergonomic cracking programs, so I'm just counting on him to crack the copy protection in the first 5 minutes.
-Toxin costs not adding up: Another houserule, I get a 50% Narcojet/Neurostun bulk discount from my Street Doc contact due to buying it by the fucking truckload.
-Yes, I know I don't have any init enhancers besides the drugs. That's the first thing on my list in-game.

Also even if they are doing it for selfish reasons they are still doing good things. If I remember correctly Horizon employees get higher pay and time off as well as better chances for promotions if they do community service. To be fair, Catalyst said they had a good relationship with Redbrick so they won't be contradicting each other. And besides, the horrors haven't been explicitly mentioned since like 2nd Edition.

So far I've managed to hide the fact my character signed up to kill some fuckers that blew up his family in a botched job. He'll kill any party member that interferes with that, and its going to be either one or the other soon, GM knows, but no one is noticing the hints. This will be good.
