I would play a game based on Megaman Legends so fucking hard.
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:23 No.5876952
It could work, but I can't think of a system that would give the same feel of gameplay.

I totally want to steal the "ancient dungeons fucking EVERYWHERE" aspect for a campaign sometime though

Dude, do you even need to ask? It has all the makings of an excellent setting.

    Air pirates? Check.
    Robots? Check.
    Adorable Mascots? Check.
    Underground dungeons? Check.
Clouded history in need of uncovering? Check.
    Tron Bonne's fantastic ass? Check.
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:24 No.5876967
Yes, this would actually make a very fantastic setting.

    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:33 No.5877063
My main gripe with a system like this is how would you run it? you never see any other diggers, is megamans blue suit really that popular? or is it unique to him? something about having everyone run around in ancient robot armor seems like it would harm the experience.
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:37 No.5877102
Simply put, yes. This would make a fucking excellent setting.
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:37 No.5877103
From what I understood from the games, diggers were pretty rare because of the dangerous nature of the job.
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:38 No.5877117
You ran into (and fought against) two other diggers in the second game. Both of them had robo-suits not entirely dissimilar to Megaman's. And at no point is it stated that the suit Megaman uses is unique, and since you buy upgrades for it throughout the game that definitely doesn't seem to be the case.
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:39 No.5877136

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember a fellow with a green suit.

It was a while ago so my memory is shoddy. But he had yellow hair and you fought him on a train as well...
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:39 No.5877141
If I understand the setting correctly, everyone is some sort of bio-android anyway, and the whole world is literally dripping with electronics and mechanics

I actually think the armor IS him.

It's mentioned that, by the time MMZX series started, humans are implementing Reploid aspects into themselves, and Reploids are given a 'life-span' like that of a human. It is then implied (if not outright stated) that the two have become so intertwined as to actually be able to breed amongst one another.

Legends is set roughly a thousand years after all of that. It isn't beyond the scope of understanding that, by that point, they've merged into one species. This would explain GIANT ROBO-BABY amongst the Bonne's, and would likely explain why Megaman never takes off his armor.
    >> Anonymous 09/15/09(Tue)22:42 No.5877177
The current "humans" were tube grown and used to re-seed Terra generations ago while all the true humans died out in Elysium. Trigger is different from the other carbons because he is a clone of the last true human.

Actually, in the opening scene in Legends 2, when he fixes Roll breakfast, he's out of his armor. One moment, I shall provide a pic.

The real question is, what would the PROTOMEN do to megaman legends.
    >> Anonymous 09/16/09(Wed)00:22 No.5878187
M&M turns into your own system half the time when you start creating restricting which powers are to be allowed or declaring that you have to take drawbacks for certain ones.
    >> Anonymous 09/16/09(Wed)00:32 No.5878329

Shit, the basic Buster, complete with mods, is so easily representable that there's actually only one thing that needs to be houseruled - and that's Energy's ability to cut down on Drain effects.
    >> Anonymous 09/16/09(Wed)00:52 No.5878560
    Let's see.

Basic Buster is just a typically ranged Blast 1 with a 1-point houseruled extra so upgrades can be slotted in. This is simple enough to follow - a 10 foot shot with a damage bonus of +1. Depending on whether you want armor to be basically innate(you never see it taken away in the games) or a Device, you'd add it to the armor or just take it under your list of powers.

The extra allows the upgrade equipment to be slotted in - eventually, like what happens in the games, you're going to be able to purchase another rank in it so you can slot in three pieces of equipment at a time.

The upgrades are pieces of equipment that are too inexpensive to justify being a Device. The basic ones should be about 5 EP(equivalent to a single Power Point) each - and obviously, they stack.

Power upgrade - +2 to Buster rank, Limited(Does not add extra range)

Energy upgrade - Point Buffer 4(Buster)

Range upgrade - Improved Range 1

    Rapid upgrade - Autofire 1
