Excuse me gentlemen, but do any of you fine men of mirth know the exact word limit for posts? I may have some Xomula writefaggotry for you tonight. I call it THE SHADOW OF PHAEDRA. Its title is in all caps, so you know it must be good.
    >> Anonymous 09/26/09(Sat)18:36 No.6022221
I don't, but I do show interest in this writefaggotry.
    >> Anonymous 09/26/09(Sat)18:42 No.6022308
    FULL CAPITALS YOU SAY?
    >> Anonymous 09/26/09(Sat)18:51 No.6022407
Should be able to fit about a paragraph each post or so.
    >> Anonymous 09/26/09(Sat)18:51 No.6022413
I am saddened and disappointed by the fact that no one has an answer to my question.

How large of a paragraph? The more exact of an answer you can give me the more effective I can writefag.
    >> Anonymous 09/26/09(Sat)18:54 No.6022451
Just post the damn story already.

Just copy pasted a paragraph from some other writefag, 13 lines in a size 12 font. Might do more, but that should be safe.

I'm pretty sure that it's a character limit. Make some test posts until you get a feel for it. Also, make sure to delete these posts so you don't get b& for spam.

I'm not happy with the ending, but it'll have to do for now. Probably okay writefaggotry incoming. And this is just the beginning of THE SHADOW OF PHAEDRA. Like, part one. It isn't done in any way what so ever.

    Xomula is a death world.

There was no other way to describe it. People died on Xomula as regularly as people on other planets breathed. The seas in Xomula, covering 97.6% of the entire planet, twisted and turned like it were alive, and in a sense, it was. They say that on clear days you can actually see its surface writhe with the life that lived and grew inside, although in Private Gild’s opinion if could see that clearly into the surface of the water you were probably too close to it to run away from it properly.

No one went near the shores if they could avoid it. No sane man would even leave the great walking hab-domes that patrolled the surface if he was intelligent, but then again, it could be argued that no sane man would ever let himself be born on Xomula.

It was interesting, actually. Never before had there been a planet with so much life, almost all of it lethal. The Imperium of Man had begun trying to colonize Xomula three hundred years ago, and it had been fighting them every inch of the way. When the Imperium first found it, Xomula was a simple swamp world. Mostly water, but with some soggy forests on what little ground the ocean hadn’t devoured. There was also a couple thousand islands sprinkled across it, but they had never really managed to get to them. Not after they began trying to colonize this hellhole. It was for the best, really- trying to launch sea expeditions cost too many ships, and whenever they managed to land a Valkyrie on one of them all they got was screaming. So much screaming…

Of course, it was when they first tried to colonize this place when the parasites started infecting the air. According to the Admech, it was because of some terraforming machine disrupting some underground volcano. But Gild had been around long enough to know what it really was. It was biological warfare. The planet knew what they were trying to do, and it didn’t like it. So now all of the air was infected with parasites, infecting the blood of whoever breathed it, distorting all the oxygen in their body and basically strangling them to death. The lucky got choked to death anyway. The unlucky ones just fell unconscious, and then all the other baddies in the ocean came out…

That was why they all had to live in the walking hab-domes. That was why they had to wear rebreathers whenever they wanted to go outside, and that was why everyone tried to stay away from the coast. The parasites only got worse the closer you came to the water. Not that the water wasn’t full of enough abominations anyway- if the parasites didn’t get you, the Denizens of the Deep probably would.

The gravity was just as bad. The planet itself was fuck huge- 200,000 Kilometers all around, with 110 hour days. An entire year was only 21 days long. If it weren’t for the slick anti-environmental suits the cog boys had crafted for them, no one would even be able to walk around on the surface without getting their asses thrusted up into their skulls.

But still, there were some good points about the place. It’s main export was alcohol, meaning there was always plenty to drink. And they could make a damn fine fungus brew here on Xomula. And that was pretty much it. The inquisition had seemed to have taken a liking to the place, to the point of having a public team of acolytes permanently chained to the planet, which was nice. Gild was always surprised to wake up and find out the place hadn’t been put up for exterminatus though.

In fact, now that he was thinking about it, he was wondering why he was here anyway, deep within one of the swamp forests of Xomula itself, just asking for some damn Slither Stab to roast his ass with one of their plasmid belches. So he decided to ask someone.
“What the fuck are we doing here?” he asked through the built in vox in his protective gas mask. It was shaped like an old plague doctor’s mask, like they used to wear way, way back, even before the golden age. For some reason Gild always thought felt this was strangely appropriate.

    >>6022890
“Investigating suspicious activity, private. Now shut up and keep the lines clear.” His squad’s sergeant replied over the vox, in a harsh but quiet tone of voice. Gild recognized it. This planet did things to people, psykers especially.

It seemed to devour all hope.

Gild walked carefully through the soggy soil, not entirely trusting his spiked boots on the unstable ground. He kept a careful eye on the trees to. Slither Stabs, dreadful little snake like creatures the size of a man with scything talons, had a tendency to climb up trees to jump down on their victims. Usually after hitting them with a mouth full of their particularly effective stomach acids, which in all truth had more in common with weaponized plasma than anything else.

Gild could easily imagine why they were here to. Xomula did have a tourism industry, no matter how small. It was based around hunting. Every so often some big shot noble from some other planet would come by bragging about his new high powered rifle, and how he had run out of ‘challenging game’ on his own planet. So they tried out Xomula’s wild life. Very few of them ever come back, and it wasn’t completely uncommon for the noble’s family to raise a bit of a hissy fit and want them to find the thing that killed the poor sod. And they would be poor at this point, because the merchants on Xomula knew how rare repeat customers were and generally charged them every pennies worth.

He could just imagine it now- some up and up spiral lord, bawling his lungs out at some techpriest in charge demanding to know what happened to his son, and then the techpriest would say in that cocky little tone of theirs ‘well, let’s found out shall we?’ and then it was the Plague Milita that wound wind up doing all the dirty work and getting a stomach load’s of plasma to the chest. It’s a bloody travesty, that’s what it is. He would like to see the techpriests themselves come down here every once and a while, having to wear the horrible little one-size-fits-none boots and uncomfortable rebreather masks and-

There was a loud clang as Gild hit his foot on something metal.

    He looked down.

It was a rather large piece of metal, showing evident signs of age and was covered in some kind of fungus. But still, just under all the crud covering it, you could just make out the name PHAEDRA.

Then he heard the clicking, and saw the thing charging at him when he looked up. It wasn’t a Slither Stab. It was roughly insectoid, running upstraight on two inverted legs and had two large crushing pincers for hands. It was covered in multiple fungi and molds. Two antenna-like spines jutted out of its shoulders, for unknown reasons. And on its face was a permanent cheerful smile, as if it was engraved into the very exoskeleton of the beast.

Gild was impressed. It was running quite fast. In fact, he was right in the middle of mentally complimenting it on its ground speed when everything went red.

Traits: Natural Weapons (Crushing Pincers), Strange Physiology, Unnatural Agilityx2, Natural Armor 3 (All parts of body), Spore Impregnator*, Swift Attack, Ambidextrous, Las Weakness**, Uncanny Dodge

Weapons: Pincers (1d10+4 R; Primitive, Tearing)

*Spore Impregnator: Each of the Spore Poppers pincers have strange proboscis type organs inside them, which implant eggs into a victim’s body when they are struck by a Popper’s attack. While living, the common human body usually has no problem fighting off and destroying these eggs when implanted into their body. But when dead, the body rises again, as a Less Spore Zombie. A Lesser Spore Zombie has the following stats

    WS: 20 BS: 5 S: 20 T: 20 Ag: 15 Int: 5 Per: 15 WP: 15 Fel: 5 Wounds: 10

    Movement: 3/6/9/18

Traits: Natural Weapons (Claws, Teeth), Corrupted Flesh, Popper Embryo

When killed though, the Lesser Spore Zombie shows it’s nasty surprise- a new and completely adult Spore Popper rips from its corpse, ready to spread its seed to others. This is shown in the Lesser Spore Zombie trait Popper Embryo. The new Spore Popper has the same stats as a regular Spore Popper. A Popper Embryo can only be stopped by killing the Lesser Spore Zombie with incendiary weapons.

**Las Weakness: The natural armor of a common Spore Popper has shown a curious weakness to Las weapons. When struck by Las weapons, ignore all armor points for calculating damage.

    And now, POORLY WRITTEN FLUFF

    THE GREAT HAB-WALKER PHAEDRA

Phaedra was one of the original seven great walking Hab-Domes of Xomula. During the Planetary Tidal Wave of the 246th year of colonization of Xomula, Phaedra was tragically cut down as it failed to successfully maneuver itself out of the way, some say because of treachery. The legend goes that, when all other Hab-Domes were eagerly and quickly running the hell out of the way of the great abomination-laded tidal wave, the Phaedra was crippled, its great legs buckling and collapsing under themselves. Some say that an insidous chaos cult managed to infiltrate the Phaedra and cursed the great machine with insidious warp magic, causing its gears to rust and become clotted with rapidly growing mold and fungi. Other say that the machine spirit of the Phaedra had become enraged by some kind of misuse, and struck out at its tormentors in the only way it could. Never the less, the Phaedra was lost under the great tidal wave and never found.
