    Existence.
You exist. That is your only quality. Yet you did not possess it a mere moment ago. Why?

You extend your senses in search of an answer.
You become aware of the Place. You exist within the Place and the Place simply exist. There is nothing more to it.

You also become aware of another existence, beyond the Place. It has many other qualities, most of which you cannot comprehend yet. However, you determine that it is a "mind", one that currently "contemplates" the very concept of existence - your existence. You are quite certain that you can transmit the concept of either "existence" or "nonexistence" to this "mind".

    What do you do?
    >> Anonymous 10/05/09(Mon)16:22 No.6145688
    Transmit the concept of "existence".
Explore said concept, trying to experience as much of its meaning as possible.
Experience myself as an existence within but also distant from the Place.
    >> Reality 10/05/09(Mon)16:31 No.6145821
    >>6145688

You transmit the concept of "existence".
There is not much meaning in the concept, as you understand it. One can either exist or not.

Or maybe your understanding was imperfect. You feel your existence strengthen as the mind receives your message and becomes certain of your existence. It seems that your existence is somehow tied to what the mind... "Believes"?

You become acquainted with the concept of "faith". You feel that it is crucial to your nature.

Satisfied for a moment, you turn your attention to the Place. For now, the mind defines it vaguely, as "someplace where you exist". It is definitely separate from you, though it has no qualities of its own.

The mind begins contemplating your nature. You are flooded with new ideas. The most prominent of them is "deity/spirit" - a being existing beyond the world native to the mind, yet capable of influencing it.
How do you respond to this concept?

You don't have such capabilities yet. Be patient and gain a power base first.

    >>6147697
You reply to the human. You're not actually sure about the "influence the world" deal, though.
Nevertheless, the human's mind accepts your nature as a deity. His thoughts are now occupied with more detailed questions about your nature. It seems he expects you to be a deity "of something", whatever that means.
You manage to probe his mind in search for knowledge and become familiar with many basic concepts.
    >Civilization level: approximately bronze age
You feel that you should consider your next answer carefully - if the human's belief is what defines you, the choice before you is crucial.
What do you tell the human?

He lives in a small village, home to about thirty adults, not counting the guards. The village's main role is growing crops, most of which are taken away as tribute to whoever the guards serve.
The land is fertile and full of life, both plants and animals. There is a large river flowing nearby.
The village uses mostly stone tools, though the guards are in possession of weapons made of metal.
Most of the villagers aren't happy with the fact that most of their crops is taken away from them.

You finally manage to sense the minds of other villagers. While they haven't heard of you yet, you sense they won't be skeptical. The guards, however, are an entirely different matter. You can barely sense their thoughts - it seems they are dedicated to some cause beyond your understanding. You doubt they'd allow Plato to spread the word openly.

It seems Plato has some authority among his peers - he should be able to convince them to whatever innovations you tell him of.

Metal tools are a different matter altogether. You cannot find any useful ores in the area. It seems the metal weapons of the guards were forged in a distant place.

You devise a simple, yet effective weapon, which can be constructed using simply alcohol, a pot or vase and some cloth. You bestow the knowledge upon Plato. Judging by the attitude of the guards, weapons may be needed soon. Plato agrees with your divine will.

Argus : god of sight both phsical and divine, IE we talk to mortals with him as a medium

Eos/Khorn : god of chaos and war, ill tempered

Epona: goddess of the beast and the forest, favors horses and very primal, lesser god of life as well

Styxx; god of death, says little, really hates his job

Solus: god of the sun(by extension life), agriculture and light

Vulcan: god of craft and magma, lesser god of invention, really really ugly

    feel free to add more

The idea is we're supposed to know all since what we say comes true. We should never, ever, say that we don't know something. Instead, either lie or say something along the lines of "That information will come when you are more prepared."

For the question posed to us, have Andreus say something like "If you want to find out, why don't you ask him (us) yourself?"

Having a pantheon is a really bad idea. You'll have all sorts of infighting and squabbling among the followers of each god, and you'll have people trying to project human traits of jealousy, lust, anger, etc. onto them.

The focus should not be on the God, but on the gifts of wisdom one can attain through dedication and worship.

    bullshit

thats boring why worship one faceless dick, rather all other gods are subservient but equal to us

also god with personality are nice, they make themselves more relatable and adds peaple who would otherwise be turned off by their ambiguity to our ranks

    >thats boring why worship one faceless dick, rather all other gods are subservient but equal to us
Because we're not trying to make the worship itself "exciting", but the knowledge they gain by doing what we ask of them.

    >also god with personality are nice, they make themselves more relatable and adds peaple who would otherwise be turned off by their ambiguity to our ranks
We don't need to make up bullshit backstories to get worshipers, we can show them real RESULTS.

As far as I can tell, we are the only god that we can perceive. Whether or not that means other gods exist now, they are simply alien to us, or whether or not other gods will come into being as more people believe in things is unknown.

We should at least have a demon for the people to be fearful of, probably the Masters. We should probably tell everybody that they enslaved all the people and have been keeping knowledge from them. We should tell them we want the truth of what they've done to be known by all, and we want to empower them so they can decide what to do on their own.

At least we can get people who just don't like paying tribute to ally with us.
