Does Weapon Proficency X weapon apply to all sizes of that weapon, or do I need to be size specific for non-normal sizes?

I have a level 8 character to make, my wizard died and prefers the afterlife. I have been meaning to try something from tome of battle. I have never read the book though only heard about it.

Why in the Nine Hells does everybody seem to be receiving free level adjustment?

    >>6164730

I want you to pick one of two options:

A.) A +7 bonus to natural armor, vulnerability 150% to fire damage, and immunity to poison, magic sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph, stunning, and mind-affecting spells and abilities (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects), and critical hits.
B.) +4 Dexterity, +6 Charisma, fast healing 2 in light, immunity to blindness, dazzling, dazing, and stunning, and any creature within 30 feet that looks upon you must make a Will save (DC is Charisma-based) or be dazzled by your myriad sparkles of colors and radiance.

Your choice will decide whether you shall be a phrenic, half-fey, woodling, magic-blooded lesser aasimar with a +12 racial bonus to Charisma and a host of immunities; or a phrenic, half-fey, radiant, magic-blooded lesser aasimar with a +18 racial bonus to Charisma and a much less impressive set of immunities.

    >>6164901

The former would be the case.
    >> Anonymous 10/06/09(Tue)23:24 No.6165048
    >>6165029
first one sounds lich based, and that fire vulnerability is starting me in the eye so number 2

I guess because my DM wants to try a higher combat campaign

Tome of Battle builds are not very difficult to construct. You should be perfectly fine as a Crusader 8, Swordsage 8, or Warblade 8.

    >>6165048

    >lich based
Plant-based, actually. Would that change your mind?

    >I guess because my DM wants to try a higher combat campaign
Well, with a +14 or +20 racial bonus to Charisma, you can more or less simply pick out save-or-die spells exclusively, such as Curse of the Putrid Husk and Baleful Polymorph, and watch as your adversaries crumble against your impossible save DCs.
    >> Anonymous 10/06/09(Tue)23:29 No.6165112
    >>6165084
Nah, Knowing my DM he would focus on that, And destroying all his monsters with Save-or-dies sounds fun

Gotta rely on my party to clear out the undead however

They're probably just looking for cool shit.

Speaking of which, as long as you're looking to continue this particular orgy of optimization, I have a query for you: What would be an optimal 'infiltrator' sort of character? Stealth, magic, and social-fu are all acceptable as means to this end.

As per your normal set of questions:
    >1.) Are 3.0 supplements such as Oriental Adventures allowed?
    No
    >2.) Is material from Dragon Magazine permitted?
    No
    >3.) Is online material from the WotC website legal for you to take?
    No
    >4.) Are options from campaign-specific sourcebooks valid for you?
    No
    >5.) Can you use the Tome of Battle?
    Yes
    >6.) Can you select flaws from Unearthed Arcana?
    Yes
    >7.) Can you devote yourself to an Elder Evil, as per the rules in the Elder Evils supplement, in order to receive bonus vile feats?
    No
    >8.) Are you using point-buy, and if so, how many feats do you have available to spend?
Yes on the point buy. The level is still up in the air, but is likely somewhere below 10.

anyway a phrenic, half-fey, radiant, magic-blooded lesser aasimar, Sounds great if you could just tell me where to plot the points with the templates that would be great,

Ill check back, tomorrow and i thank you for your help

Okay. You are a phrenic, radiant, half-fey, magic-blooded lesser aasimar. You have racial ability score modifiers of +6 Dexterity, -2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence, +4 Wisdom, and +18 Charisma (not +20, sorry). You have a fly (good) speed equal to twice your base land speed, immunity to blindness, dazing, dazzling, stunning, enchantment spells, and enchantment effects, spell/power resistance equal to 11 + character level, and an immense array of spell/psi-like abilities. The following would be your book sources:
Phrenic: Expanded Psionics Handbook, pages 205-206 (www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/phrenicCreature.htm)
Radiant: Dragon Magazine #321, pages 73-75
    Half-Fey: Fiend Folio, pages 89-90
    Half-Fey Update: Fiend Folio 3.5 Update, page 4 (www.wizards.com/dnd/files/DnD35_Fiend_Folio.zip)
    Magic-Blooded: Dragon Magazine #306, page 64
Aasimar: Monster Manual, page 209 (www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/planetouched.htm#aasimar)
Lesser Planetouched: Player's Guide to Faerun, page 191

You are a magical, psychic, angelic, fae creature from the Plane of Radiance almost literally composed of sunshine, rainbows, stars, and sparkles. Assuming you purchase 18 Charisma through point-buy, at 1st-level (ECL 8 normally, without your free +7 LA), your Charisma should be 36, and anyone within 30 feet looking at you must make a DC 23 Will save or be dazzled for 1d6 rounds. This is prime Mary Sue material.

    >They're probably just looking for cool shit.
This thread and the past have consisted more of picking out templates due to rampant amounts of free level adjustment than actually picking out classes, feats, magic items, and so on and so forth. I am ashamed.

    >What would be an optimal 'infiltrator' sort of character? Stealth, magic, and social-fu are all acceptable as means to this end.
I am exceedingly exhausted now, so all I can recommend to you is the changeling race from either the Eberron Campaign Setting or the Monster Manual III, the psion class from the Expanded Psionics Handbook (psionic powers need neither somatic components nor verbal components, and their visual manifestations can be suppressed, making them highly covert), the factotum class from Dungeonscape, the Chameleon prestige class from Races of Destiny, and the Cabinet Trickster prestige class from Races of Eberron. Look through those and mix and match as you wilt.

    Good night.

    ah, a convert.

Me, I prefer the Warblade or the Crusader. Either way you want to go heavy into Stone Dragon, iirc that's the one that lets you replace ANY save with a con check. Don't have the book with me though, so I can't look it up right now, and it's been over a year since I played 3.5. The look on your DM's face when your 8wis fighter beats his ridiculously high will wave is PRICELESS.
