    Part IV: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/6198252/

Premise: You are the last incarnation of true evil on the planet. Centuries have passed since the last Great War between good and evil. Monsters and wicked creatures no longer walk the earth, and evil has been forgotten. You awoke with nothing but rags and your creator’s memories given to you are fragmented and incomplete. Your strength is a mere shadow of its potential, but will grow with the evil you commit and the very presence of it in the world. Your enemy thus far is Saint Valtir, the very paladin of legend whom smote the last King of Evil and ascended to God-hood taking form of a star in the night sky.

You have left the town of Hinterport behind a living but shattered monument to what destruction your will can unleash. From the control of the haughty and bumbling Lord Hornington you have seized control of a mighty state of the art warship. The world lies before you, how do you commence your reckoning? What does a world that has forgotten evil for almost one thousand years deserve?

Belongings: Ragged robes, Armour Medium, long sword, “Hollow Star” (Dagger), Armored Galleon
Known Dark Arts: Soul Obliteration (Cost High), Zone of Secularity (Cost Very High)
    Evil Power: Unremarkable
Minions of Note: Kelgris (???), Catharine (Ex Nun of Valtir), Hinterport dockworkers.

After the 3rd day of traveling south through the ice fields plaguing the northern seas the obstacles of the north have begun to dissipate. Only an occasional iceberg accompanies you on your southbound journey. The ship was originally christened the Deloxen, a mythical bull from the time of pagan worship thousands of years ago. Deloxen was a gift from the fertility goddess to the mortals. It was a giant bull that pushed the cold northern winds back to their place for spring and summer so that crops could grow. A fitting name, but perhaps you may wish to rename it?

On the 4th day you awaken from your slumber in the captian’s quarters. Still sleeping beside you is the girl Catharine. You had enjoyed her comforts in the artic sea air. Her nun’s clothing was not befitting of her natural beauty, surely a treasure money seldom can acquire. For starting a new evil dynasty however, the vile Valtir once again presents himself. Gleaning from Valtir holy texts in the previous captain’s possession you came across a disturbing passage.

“When holy Valtir struck down the King of Evil so too did he bless the world ever after. With chains that bound him to the earth coiled round his sword and with the holy radiance of every living the king did die, but Valtir did not die that day. High in the sky hangs his immortal soul, and along with it his curse to all with tainted soul. And so too did his voice ring throughout the world one last time, “All evil of this world I curse you that you may never spread over the surface, its seas, and within the caverns of the earth. May all your spawn never be, and may you spend your last era to repent your sins and save your souls least you fade away from the new era.”

    Now it’s personal.

They are not towns themselves but nation and states.

Albius was once a mighty empire in the ancient times, but a great cataclysm lost to time destroyed it. There they still worship their old gods along with Valtir.

Telreinz Caleinz and Lourenz used to be one great country, but centuries of cultural drift made them their own independent nations. Even with the mountains dividing them they still wage small wars over small pockets of land.

Midsland is the strongest of all nations. Under the wise king Aldrichson they have at peace for decades, but still have a proud military tradition.

Naheland is the opposite, against nomad tribesmen from the east they have been a buffer for the other nations. They are hardy warlike people but poor.

Novusguland are skilled traders bankers and a neutral country.

The republics and principalities are a mishmash of old and new revolutionary and ever changing political landscape. It is nearly always at war, mostly political.

The Apostle States are the seat of power for the Valtir religion.

Persium are of a different religion then the others and have a mighty spanning empire. They never did suffer from the northern evil invasions so long ago which is why they went along a different path.

Neheland sounds like your sort of people. Hardy, and bitter. But before that, the world always works on money. Its probably a good idea to procure some.

Sailing east near Novusguland you prowl for your target. It does not take as long as you imagined it would, you spy a peculiar vessel on the water, a galley. It is colored with white wood and sails although it doesn't seem tall enough for a number of rowers for its oars. A blue and green flag is raised in the distance. They have senses your approach and are raising flags trying to communicate. Too bad you are anyone else on the ship have no idea how to respond back.

    Course of engagement?

Well, we have a warship, but if we do ANYTHING, people are going to ask "wtf do you have a warship?"

That leaves us with a few options.

1.) Break down the ship, sell it piecemeal. Nets us monies to buy a fief to spread evil from, arm ourselves, arm our flunkies.
2.) Resort to piracy. We COULD do this, but we don't know the first thing about piracy and merchant vessels are probably going to be faster than a warship. Plus, we'd need to find a pirate harbor.

3.) Find another ship. Hold someone up, preferrably with a small ship, stick ours on an island and use a less-conspicuous vessel to get around. If/when we need the warship, we can come back for it.

Either way, this warship is going to be looked-for.

You wait a little longer until what next can be heard is a gangplank being set into position between the two ships. From what you can tell of the ship by spying through one of the open gun ports is that there is no open port windows on the side of the unknown galley. Just a space for the oar to stick out into the ocean. You can hear foot steps above.

"Sir, the flags say it must be a Midstland ship. But what would it be doing so far in the north?...Sir?"

You give a nod to your men who push out what cannons they can. With fuses cut short a moment later a thunderous roar from eight cannons tears into the white ship. Each cannon ball clears through the vessel and out into the sea on the other side. There is a moment of panic above and with Kelgris beside you you stride onto the deck to see four men collected. Men would be to put it lightly, their skin is pale and their ears elongated more then other men. They appear lightly armed. The eldest elf regains his senses and swallows hard, "It has begun all too early."

The others with him noticing the change in their leader draw their swords. "It must be him! For the Brightlands!" Their brashness does not please Kelgris to much and when they charge they are cut down like wheat before a scythe. They were not the best of warriors, but now they are either headless, legless or armless. Blood pools on the ship's deck as you approach the elf with calm steps and dark arts pulsating over your arm.

You motion Kelgris to seize the elf which he happily obliges to do. But as Kelgris' armored hand reaches out for the Elf's frail neck his hand hits a translucent blue barrier and it repelled away. Still recoiling from the sudden push a blue bolt of light from the barrier knocks Kelgris back and upwards over the deck and landing him in a pile of barrels behind you.

The elf raises an eyebrow at your unflinching posture. Perhaps he expected more by sending your minion flying. You truly remember nothing at all?" He mutters aside but accidentally within your hearing, "Is the prophecy misstold?"

Producing Hollow Star from your sleeve and hidden in your hand you approach the elf. Ready for battle he raises his hands and moves them in quick motion along with lyrics unintelligible to your ears. With your arm still pulsating black you prepare your mind and body as well. A large spectacle like last time will not be necessary.

The elf suddenly becomes very still with but a single finger pointing in your direction. The winds called to his side blow violently around him and look as if they are flowing into him. From his out stretched finger electricity crackles and with a savage 'crack' leaps through the air toward you. With your right arm you palm in the air a large circle, the black mist forms an opaque mist that the lightning vanishes into.

The elf's blue glowing eyes fade to their natural gray, "What sorcerery is this?"

Rushing forward the black mist around your arm is not so strong but with dagger in hand it consolidates in the blade as you leap forward and drive it clean through the barrier, like glass it shatters as your blade sinks deep into to elf's left eye.

Pulling him from the edge of the ship you toss his listless body on the deck. Having pulled himself from the wreckage of smashed barrels Kelgris towers over the prone elf. Kelgris looks at you for a moment and you give him a second nod. Reaching down he lifts he elf into the air by shoulder and carries him away like a piece of trash one does not want to grip too tightly. Emerging from the deck below the rest of your crew, you order them to the other vessel, which you notice has lost its previous white gloss. From the vessel you loot several elven fineries foodstuffs and approximately 800 Telreinz minted silver coins. Against the now rough cold seas due to the wind summoned by the elf it appears his vessel which oddly had no further crew began to buckle. It seems some magical influence was keeping such a brittle vessel held together.

You'll have some alone time with the poor wretch. Meanwhile unless your mind has changed, Naheland is your destination. Don't forget the finer details on how to get knowledge from your captive, and what questions to ask.

The journey further south is uneventful, besides all the torture sessions at random intervals. Paying in silver for anything interesting the elf might say the crew each take a crack at it. They aren't the must skilled at it, but they keep him in a miserable state.

Using the elf for your own amusement you mock him relentlessly, he remains stoic and silent but you know if his eyes weren't ruined he'd probably be crying with them. Elves are just like that.

Where the results come from after long days of relentless beating is Catharine's consolation. The sudden change from brutality to kindness loosens up his heart. Your eavesdropping minions tell you he tries to implore her to rescue him and he will save her, but she refuses every time. Tricking interest later on in doing so she gleams more information from him. Regretfully he dies from infection in his eyes after a few days, but you did learn that his mission was sent from the elven lands fast in the west to warn the nations of mankind against your return. His face objective was diplomatic and trade negotiations but it seems he did not make it any further east then Midstland.

What you thought might have been books in his fineries before may be official elven political documents.

Finally land comes into view as you approach the northern shores of Naheland and a mid-sized port city at the end of the fjord.

As for "Morgan's" skull you notice turning it upside down and looking at scalp from underneath there has formed a detailed sea chart. It seems being at sea so long must have imprinted and engraved the knowledge into his brain, although now only literally. It will come in handy as it appears to shift and change with winds and currents. Better then any ordinary map.

As this is the end of the sea you cannot sail further south, but by avoiding the port you turn into a secluded carved cove. It is unavoible to avoid all detection as along the way small merchant ships have spotted you at a far distance, but they are too far and too fast to intercept.

Dropping anchor out of sight from ships exiting and entering the fjord. It won't be so easy to get on land from such a rugged place though, there are sheer cliffs on all sides that will take some time to scale and descend.

The people here are similar to the Midstlanders in appearance and custom, but because of the constant threat from eastern raiding and invasion they are a much hardier people. They are not steppe people themselves though, and do not form tribes. They are under a harsh and brutal serfdom and feudal system.

This close to the west they are more like Midstlanders though. The further east you go the more suspicious and untrustworthy the people become. You should reach the capital Arwenken by a southeast highway from this port town after a few days of travel.

Study any books around on the ship and try to remembers ways to hide our evil aura, so that paladins and elves etc can't smell us as soon as we walk into a city. Meditation etc.

Using your dark powers will leave a lingering aura for others who are capable of detecting it. It will remain on you and where you cast the spell. But along with hiding your eyes you should not be so easy to detect at your level.

Raising anchor and believing it to be safe you sail your ship to harbor and dock. There are many questions asked by the Naheland officials over what a warship heralding Midstland is doing in this port with an odd and not nearly full crew. You should put aside these questions carefully before proceeding with everything else.

You are actually looking to sell it at some point, but for now, your misstress needs it to get around and keeping her entertained is of high importance.

Your explanation appeases their curiosity for now. They clear through the paper work because there are so few ships at this time of year, but it will cost about 100 silver to keep the ship docked at port for a week.
