( Here we go once more.)

The Dragon walks off back into his cave, and you walk back to the King. All your work has been done and all of your promises have been filled.

Anything you would like to do or say?

Let's gather everything that's ours. Copies of texts that we've made, our pilfered loot, our prize winnings, crafting materials, everything.

We need to get a move on. Once we say our goodbyes to the princess of course. There's no way we could marry her.

Mentioning going home sparks a conversation. The king is willing to give you noble status. This means a cut from the fight will be given to you to divide among the hunters, and the surviving hunters would actually be sworn to your service.

You do not have to live there, but you will have to vote in decisions. Humans have been nobles in this city before, due to contracts with ore and such. So it is not unheard of, but is still a big deal.

He also mentions now that he might live long enough, he may take another wife. On this he thanks you several more times, and goes on a small rant about how his real lover till then will be his Axe.

You joke about the mental image as the two of you land and he laughs along with you.

You agree to his offer and he seems glad as he hops down after you, he rants on about Trade Agreements with your town, and hoping you want to turn the profitable spot into a real money-maker.

He also tells you all reports from the area from trade's men say it is doing fine and the only thing of note is a massive, well built wall protecting the Town's land. A few farms have popped up on the outskirts as well.

You make sure to divide the cuts up even. Letting families of the Dead still get a fare share. Most Nobles don't divide it up equally, fewer pay out to the families, usually only winning gives a pay out at all.

You are well liked, but it leaves less for yourself. Still a few -true- Black Dragon Scales are in your ownership. Skeletons, plenty of flesh and acid-glands. The Dragon's horde was not massive in number, it seems she gave it away, or it was stolen under her nose before the last battle.

You have a feeling it has to do with a certain vampire Dick.

Saying Goodbye to the princess gives you a situation however. She wants to ask her father if she can go with you. Even if she is female, she was raised a warrior, and still feels you could learn a lot from her if you wish to build your city or continue to survive adventures.

You can tell her thinly veiled true motive however. To be away from here with you, allowed to do what she pleases.

There is no doubt in your mind even the most dense person would figure out what is going on if she asks her father.

No, if she goes with us, we need to be transparent with the king.

We should tell him, in private, very politely and friendly that his daughter is smitten with us, wonderful young lady that she is, and ask him what we should do.

The king is our bro, and we're pretty much the manliest, dwarfiest human in the history of everything ever. We'll surely receive his blessing.
    >> Anonymous 10/22/09(Thu)03:58 No.6381706
Okay dudes listen up. We go home and tell her to come later, if she can convince her father. If she shows up we'll know her father don't give a fuck, or made another heir.

Gives us time to make sure we didn't knock up the Bar maid too. And see how much wolfy missed us. Fuck we're a pimp. He's a little mary-sue I think.

Good point. What if we meet the barmaid and the princess is with us? And the barmaid is knocked up?

Admittedly, I doubt the dwarf would care too much. Even if we couldn't brush off the situation, it's not like that sort of stuff didn't happen a lot in medieval settings. Men fucked around a lot. It happened.
    >> Anonymous 10/22/09(Thu)04:02 No.6381730
    >>6381719

    That's a given.

It also helps that we're kind of a fucking noble now, and one of the most famous and respected individuals in the city, dwarf or not.
At this point I'm beginning to think that the king might not be so averse to the idea of a half-breed heir.

After all, if we represent what the dwarves have to gain from stronger relations with humans, they should be all over it.

You tell her to hold off, or think of a more concrete reason, and when the king has time meet with him once more.

You explain that you don't want to burden him with anything else or strain your friendship, but you feel that all the time spent with his daughter has grown into something more, perhaps for both of you.

You know the situation with Royal Bloodlines and a Dwarf leader being important, and in no way do you wish to tread on something like that, but as a friend you wish to know his advice.

He strokes his beard, and looks away. He then stares you down, but loses the anger quickly and once more fiddles with his beard.

He then lights his pipe and puffs on it, occasionally looking at you, but saying nothing. You can see a vein or two rising from his forehead, and his face turning a little red.

He then lets out a long breath and adjusts his seat, producing a flask, and drinking far too much of it in one swing. The axe leaning against his throne is glowing, but not exploding in fire and death...

Okay It's time to head out. Your caravans are loaded. Your gold is loaded, you have the men sword to your service ( 5 of them.) And a personal Elite guard to ensure the princess and the gold you've earned make it to your town's vaults. After that they will depart.

Three wagons filled with winnings, Ore, and information, as well as black dragon reagents from mundane to expensive, it is an amazing haul. The guards will stave off all but the most impending threats.

Wanting to have an election so the town chooses who to run things. Eventually things calm and your winnings are safe in the vault, the most important Items locked up in your shop, doing a good job to keep them hush hush and telling the hunters to keep an eye on it and take a load off.

You ask the Mayor's son if he knows where the "Wild Girl" as they call her is. Considering you've kept a secret she was a were-wolf, and the kids were all out cold through the whole thing, she has just been a vagrant who shows up in tatted clothes or none at all to the town.

He tells you he has not seen her in a few weeks. You decide the Large orc who's apparently been running the town guard a couple of weeks after you left might be a good person to talk to.
