The sound of gold on stone as it rolls over and over, a summer, a winter, another summer. The crown that fell to the ground, a mockery of a boy’s life cut short. Like a feather to the surface the body of a child collapses. Another clang of steel, the blade falls to the ground bloody, a slayer of kings. Silence once more; eternity has returned to the room. Sobbing, crying. There is nothing but sorrow in this room. A bloodline has ended. A dynasty has ended, by someone trusted the most. Did he do it for love? Did he do it power? Why did he do it? But what he did, he did of his own will. You were there to push him. You were there to goad him and convince him. He could have killed you. He could have ignored you. Reap the rewards. A man can destroy a family and a town. But a nation is not for the likes of a man. Your frame swells and your bones lengthen. Where Freyr would look down upon you before, you stand his equal. Your bones harden, could they be called bone anymore? Swelling to embrace your frame is a surge of power, muscles that bulge with greater strength then any ordinary man. No ordinary man can be your equal. What mortal man should you fear now?

The crying stops, a man’s tear stained face turns to you. Horror is on his face. Your presence cannot be hidden to him now. You brim with the stuff of nightmares. Your eyes darken and the light red bleeds to vermillion, and they glow. They cut through the darkness even your own presence gives; the flames burn brightly on their surface. He stands to his feet and grasps his sword.

“You. You did this. How could I have…. You Monster! What did you do to me!?”

    Evil Power: Nigh Human Potential

Screaming at the top of his lungs in a battle frenzy Freyr charges across the room and swings his sword down on top of your head. With but a though he swings through nothing but black mist. The sword cleaves through it and strikes the floor cutting the stone, but not even harming the blade.

He only has a moment to be alarmed as he notices your shadow behind him. He turns to face you but with a right hook punch he is lifted off his feet and is sent into the air a foot off the ground and falls prone eight feet back. Wheezing hard he pulls himself to his feet. His breast plate on his chest is dented inwards significantly.

With another roar he charges with body kept low and ready to swing up.

Yikes, we have a magical demon-slaying blade and an experienced warrior. Dodge away towards the window, where the king's body is. Try to leave your head open so he will do another downward swing and then step to the other side of the room. He will cleave the king's body again. Emotionally traumatizing and makes it look like Freyr killed him in a rage.

Then the city would be run over by barbarians, and you know it. What would happen to the kingdom? Anarchy, panic, famine, and most of all, death.

With the sword swinging up you take a step back as it grazes off and lights sparks off the front of your own breast plate. Any deeper and it might have cleaved it in half, and it would have fallen off your chest in two pieces. You continue stepping back inviting Freyr further and further in as he swings wildly from the right, the left, a thrust. You reach near the window near the king's body. But Freyr is still on in a bestial like state. Annoying. At his next swing you foresee you hold out your left arm and catch him by the bicep. Reaching your right first over to your left shoulder you swing it across to back hand him with your fist. The blow sends him off his feet and makes a single rotation in the air landing a distance away and rolling on the ground some more with momentum. You reach down and pull the wet soggy blood soaked body of the king.

Freyr prepares to charge but once more you vanish from sight in a cloud of black mist. You appear behind him to face the pummel of a sword coming toward you. You take a hit dirrectly in the right temple and stagger backwards over a chair. You hear Freyr breathe heavily, pleased. You've had quite enough. Standing quickly to your feet you spot Freyr rushing toward you with sword held high. With longsword at your waist you draw it in one fluid motion. Falling through the air the sword is free, along with Freyr's right arm at the shoulder. But the cut was clean and despite the pain in his face he continues charging forward right into the grip of your waiting left hand. You let him get a good look into his eyes as he struggles with blood gushing from his wound. You walk over to a dresser and bring his head down on it with mighty force splintering the wood into an impact crater. Along the dresser top you slide his into china plates and miniature stone buffs. With a bloody pulpy face you toss the ugly face away into the air and landing on a wooden table, the legs break out from under it and it falls to the floor.

With dark clouds running up and down your arm, twisting over and under you approach the moaning man crying out in pain. You slam your left hand onto his forehead and raise him off his feet. The black nail forms and with a sickening sound of rending flesh the nail enters into his skull. You drop the figure on the ground as his legs crumple underneath. A few seconds pass, nothing. No blue shards. A moment later his head wretches back and he screams in howling horror and pain, his eyes pitch black. With his remaining arm he clutches his head as if trying to hold something back. He stumbles around the room, insane from pain before his stumbling takes him to the window. With reckless abandon his weight collides with the glass and it shatters under his weight as he drops to the stone courtyard below, his body crumpling as it hits the shingled roofs on the way down.

There is silence once more. But then a sudden howling wind. Screams in the air fill the air. Riding on the tip of the wind a pained face. Trying to get away, but drawn ever closer and closer. The Sword of Kings on the ground still clenched in a severed arm howls with an opposing wind, soothing, yet malicious. The howling face recoils in terror and writhes to get away, but it is caught and is slowly pulled in until the howling winds end. The silver blade tinted a sorrowful bluish grey. Ghost like spectres leap from the blade, sometimes forming a screaming ghostly face in anguish.

You can hear screams outside the window now, and the footsteps are getting closer. You could attempt to climb the castle walls, but you might be vulnerable out there. You decide to wait and you turn to the doors. Bursting through the doors in a full compliment of 10 mail armoured castle guards. They nearly empty their stomachs at the sight of the room covered in blood. Then they set eyes on you, and are terrified. But once one lays eyes on the dead king you can see the hatred in thier eyes.

You raise your sword up high, an ethereal afterimage following in its wake. With the guard still charging you drop the sword down. The guard was prepared but the strength of the blow was not to his expectations. As the sword swings through the air and the blue after image following there is a high pitched piercing howl not of this world, almost a banshee's wail. His metal round shield nearly bends the entire shield at a 45 degree angle. From the impact zone frost forms about 5 inches from the edge of the blade. The after image does not stop however, it continues on and passes through the body of the guard. His body seizes up at once. He starts to shake and convulse as if he were dying of cold whilst being violated etherally. The opponent stunned you push the blade forward through his chest. You can see as the frost forms around his chest, no blood runs but he falls over backwards, dead.

"D-Demon! Run! Run!" The other nine guards begin running away.

As the three of you walk through the empty corridors you notice they should not be so empty. It is at that moment you notice a whistling sound getting ever closer. The sound cumulates with a section of the stone wall of the citadel to your right facing the outside cave in. A cloud of grey dust and rock debris fills the corridor. After the ringing from shell shock dies down you can hear the sounds of battle outside. Gazing through the open hole in front of you is a panoramic view east of the castle. Spanning the horizon a host of troops with banners raised and clouds of smoke rising on the hill line. On the walls are the Naheland troops ralleying to the cannons on the walls and firing volleys back at the 'barbarian' battle lines. You watch as the iron balls soar into the distance colliding with the wall of men and iron balls soar in return crushing buildings and burrowing into the outer wall of the city.

You decide it would be best to move deeper into the castle. Rushing further inside you pause when troops run in your direction but after revealing Kelgris and putting your own cowl back on they rush right by in a panic. You finally come to the main exit, the room where the ball for the nobles was held not so long ago. The room is filled with soldiers tending to the wounded as other robed figures work magic binding wounds while surgeons amputate limbs and sow stitches.

Descending the stairs you put Catharine in the lead. A soldier jumps to attention.

"Halt! Where did you come from it isn't safe here!"

Catharine straightens up, "I have a wounded man here and we need passage through."

    "Well we are busy here.."

Catharine takes a step back and peals back a rag of Kelgris' robe revealing his arm missing a slab of flesh. The guard almost throws up. "Well?"

"Go on, go on through, oh by Valtir..."

The three of you pass through the crowd of the wounded moaning and wailing for help. You cant help but feel eyes watching you. From all around, even above and below. As you reach the doors out of the castle though they fade. You can smell the gunpowder in the air now, and the sun has begun to set. The armies surrounding the capital seem to have pulled back, and you can see camps forming beyond the range of the Arwenken's cannons.
