    >If the paladin won't turn, it's only fair that we give the elf a chance. Offer her the paladin's life in exchange for her unending service.
I like this plan. If she says yes, the paladin gets to go into despair as his lover turns to evil and we lock him in the basement. If she says no, we can default to whatever else we're planning, like infusing her with dark power until we get bored or something interesting happens.

Offer elf paladin's life for servitude. Wax philosophical about how love is about sacrifice. Use imply. Then leave paladin alive, knowing he lives (maimed though) because his lover gave her soul for him.

We can't forget about Kelgris either. He's been too useful and loyal to let die. Collect his skull and find a way to make him a golem-body or graft it onto someone else's.

I'm still of the opinion that we're wasting our time trying to coerce good aligned people.

Maim pally, do unspeakable things to elf as he must watch. Behead Pally, put Kelgris' head on body.

take elf sure, but don't let paladin live. Have catherine stab him in the face after we escort the elf out of here.

And reassure catherine that we're not replacing her. Unless we want to build an evil harem.

    >Then leave paladin alive, knowing he lives (maimed though) because his lover gave her soul for him.
Maimed? So... lock him in the basement after cutting his feet off, just in case someone comes to rescue him?

And then give the elf visitation rights, while making her do all kinds of horribly evil things on a constant basis. If all goes well, we can watch the paladin's horror with the shattered, desperate wreck of his former lover as she becomes ever more twisted by the demands of the powers she sold herself to for his sake.

Don't know. thing is we've had terrible luck trying to inflict despair or loyalty to anyone who is clearly a good person. At the least they need to be heavy handed like Freyr.

Looking at the track record we've got it looks pointless unless the circumstances are good. I don't think these circumstances are favorable enough. Maybe if we asked the Elf first but I don't think her love is enough to make her an idiot. Likely, she'll rather die with her lover than follow us because she believes we'll kill him anyway.

If we're exchanging his life for her servitude, we can't very well immediately kill him, or we'd obviously lose her service. That's why the bargain would work in the first place.

Besides, if she says no right off, we can start removing his limbs, just in case she finds that persuasive.

Heh, I like it. Particularly because it implies that the elf never felt ANYTHING for the paladin, which is sort of taunting her to prove that she does, in fact, feel for him (even if only as a friend) by saving his life... our way. Deliciously double-edged.

Your clan...silly creature, are you so arrogant that you could not grant this man whos life is but a mere wink compared to yours one modicum of happiness! You are the truly evil one here, unconciously toying him sinking your lovely hooks into his heart.
And now at the moment where he most needs your support YOU BETRAY HIM!!!!
I could not have destroyed a man so completely in a millenia than what you have done in your short time with him. Oh if I were you this would be the epitome of my existence.
Now Calrius, I am giving you a chance to show you how deep for her your love is, take your sword, slay her, put her out of her misery, for surely she cannot live now with her suffering look into her eyes you would be doing her a kindness? Then join me, we can purge this cruel world of evil whores such as her, those succubi who would corrupt a man so completely as yourself, surely that is a righteous task for what man should suffer as deeply as you have? Or would you prefer that you leave her alive, knowing full well that this cruel fate is sure to befall another man, and another for her actions here are surely a sign that it will happen again, her chiseled perfection calling out like a beacon, her hatred of man a terrible weapon to be set loose upon your world. What will you do?

"And you would believe that Paladin? You can find me, but cannot tell lies from truth? She is far from the homeland, far from the eyes of her father. She is not human. They do not feel and love as we men do." You beckon Catharine to your side. "You see? I did not know what you thought you could accomplish here, but you will leave with nothing. Or you will take what you want. But I tire of this. I expect you'll die from your wounds eventually. The elf will not be going anywhere, do what you will to her with what little time is left. I will seal the exit, and you'll spend your last breaths here, suffocating even if you do heal your wounds."

You then remove your boot and allow the paladin to breath as you take Catharine and leave the two to their fates.

Far across the bloodstained chamber you see the head of Kelgris. Plucking it from the ground you turn to look into it. The skull is still coloured red, but there is no flame of life burning in its eyes.

The jaw of Kelgris does not move, but his voice comes from the skull, "Is that you my lord? I cannot feel... I cannot see... I have failed haven't I? I cannot ask for forgiveness."

Kelgris' skull turns to dust in your hand and sifts through your hands and falls to the ground. Elsewhere in the room there are faint moans from the wounded servants who after the fighting and noise has died down begin to rouse, those that can that is. Some of your core rogues have survived, you still have others that were not present. You do not know how many cultists died to these intruders, but you most likely have been dealt a serious blow. But for some time whomever knows that these people are here, will believe they are still alive. You have some time to move before anyone realizes what might have happened.

AS for the other mage, she is still there, but quite unconscious and barely hanging onto life from what you can see with a glance.

You currently have about eight rogues left. Cultists have dwindled to a few dozen. In all this incident has cost you just over half your forces in the city. What you've gained is the destruction a powerful group of individuals assigned to defeat you. It would hard to believe there may be any "Valtir favoured" individuals left in the city to oppose you. You have also gained a momentary reprieve.

As for the mage, after relocating to a temporarily place to rest you complete your experimentation. As you allow the dark energy to seep in until it will no longer do so you can image from the mage's body with your mind's eye strings. It was laborious and you feel exhausted of your dark energy but her form is now like that of a puppet, but when she wakes she does not scream, even if her eyes swell with tears.

    >> Anonymous 11/14/09(Sat)04:00 No.6698807
Right, give the mage rudimentary control over her body. If there's some way to limit her magical abilities, do that. Then, leave her in Catherine's care. She's going to much more persuasive and relatable than ourselves.

we need a captive audience to share our master plan's we, isn't that what this innocent mage girl is? so when she finally breaks free from her tormentor she can reveal them to the nearest holier than thou crusader, which is unfortunate because everythign we told her was a lie

Let it be known that we won this fight, no matter how many of you died you kept charging, You have made me a proud man today those of you who stand before me now will one day replace the nobles in this very city. Now then get to cleaning don't want to die of sickness after all that fighting, oh also those of you who dispose of the weaker or dying men will get to enjoy a night with the young mage girl you captured.

A word for the wise. Catharine probably wont tolerate fooling around if she has to see it. What she'll do, oh I don't know.

For what you can do to the mage. Spells are mental focus but you have no control over that, but what you can do is make her move and speak. You cannot access her memories or her abilities, but anything her body can do, you control. Spell casting does still require some movement though, its hardly likely she can do anything to save herself without outside help.

Damn, now I'm torn. If we leave the girl with Catharine there's no guarantee that she'll be seen again in one piece. And if we tell Cath she's not to be harmed, well... let's not think about that.

let Catherine do her thing to her then, but have her let us know when the Mage starts moving again.
our next session of dark energy therapy with the mage should be focused on her mind as opposed to body though.
    >>6698813
this works, but we should see to improving the martial skills of the survivors, we arent Stalin after all, and few people willingly join zerg rush type armies. let them have the elf not the mage though, as we want the mage as an ally, and the Paladin watching hes non-reciprocal beloved being violated over and over could be quite effective to further breaking him. "You could have prevented this" ect ect

thats the wrong way to break someone, forcing them to break like that can leave room for them to snap back at a catalyzer, we need her to join us of her own free will where she actually wants to join us...then her will is ours, in the first situation is just her actions

...Did any of them really do well enough to deserve that? I mean, even Kelgris, our very best soldier, did little more than suck and die. Rewarding incompetence so highly is a bad way to start off a fledgling evil empire. We need to train these oafs we've got into a reasonable fighting force.

I thought we left the Paladin and the Elf alone in our old main chamber so they could have some quality alone time. Soul crushing, will draining, heart breaking alone time.

Anyways, to reiterate. Give the mage negligible motor functions so we don't have to puppet her 24/7. Leave her in Catharine's care afterward. Then, let the cultists and rogues divvy up the loot of the adventurers.
