Paudronius the Unwieldy is an unusual Marine, in that he claims allegience to no currently existing chapter. It is believed he originally served the Nova Guard, until they were "condemned" due to petty Ecclesiarchal politics and sent into the Eye of Terror on a massive suicide mission. How he escaped this fate is not known for sure, but the most likely theory suggests that he was riding a savior pod, in stasis, for two hundred years after the ship he was on was destroyed by a Traitor fleet.
Possibly unbalanced by the experience, he commissioned the manufacture of an ornate suit of powered armor, something capable of warding off everything but the most deadly attacks. It is superior in its protective value even to Terminator armor. Unfortunately, the suit is so massive and bulky that it greatly restricts his range of movement. The upshot is that, as a result of a decade of actually using the suit in combat, his body has adapted to the strain, making him ridiculously tough and terrifyingly strong. One rumor credits him with destroying a Traitor lascannon at fifty paces by swinging a power-fist into the beam, punching it straight back into the gun emplacement.
