I have completed the rules for the dragon game, which I have dubbed "FYIAD"

Thank you to Anon, who came up with the concept, and that Dark Eldar namefag, and also Ted.

Please help me edit and revise this; critique as needed.

    WHAT YOU NEED:
At least 2 Settlers of Catan boards (preferably more)
    4 differently colored d10s
    A couple d6s
A lot of loose change (At least 80 pennies and 30 nickels, or your nation's equivalent)
    2 to 4 players.
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)00:47 No.6782451
Set up the Catan tiles at random, but so that it forms a square (approximately).
Randomly place some of the towns down on the tiles: these will represent villages.
Then, place one city piece on the middle of the board: this is the Kingdom.
Take the resource cards and shuffle them: these will represent Loot cards.
Sheep is Livestock, Ore is Gold, Brick is Kobolds; you don't need the rest.
Take enough nickels and place them heads up on every non-Village or Kingdom tile.
Give each player 3 pennies: this is your starting Gold.
You then roll to determine turn order.
Then each player takes a d10 and places it in a corner, this is done by turn order.
Place the d10s with the “1” facing up; this represents your Dragon Points.
Designate a player to control the Adventurers.
    Then the game begins
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)00:47 No.6782454
Players may move one tile per turn equal to half the amount of Dragon Points they have, rounded up; you do not spend DP on movement, it merely represents it.
You may move farther than your DP, but you use up one Cow card per tile in order to do so.
Each time you land on a tile, you may choose to end your movement and take multiple actions.
If you land on a tile that is neither a Village, the Kingdom, nor a Mountain you may use one DP to explore it.
When you explore a tile, flip the nickel and draw a Loot card, though keep your cards secret:
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)00:51 No.6782487
Each turn you need to eat a Cow for every two DP you have.
If you don’t you lose 1 DP for the difference (for instance, if you have 7 DP, but only 2 Cows, you lose 3 DP).
Note that you can never go below 1 DP; you gain 1 DP per turn base, you also get one DP for the following: each village you control, every 4 gold, every 6 tiles you control, and if you defeated another player or the Adventurers last turn.
You gain 2 DP per turn if you control the Kingdom.
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)00:55 No.6782539
Kobolds are the most important thing in this game.
The uses for Kobolds are as follows:
Anytime another player rolls a dice, you may spend any amount of Kobolds to reduce or increase their roll by that much (your choice).
Anytime another player gains or spends DP, you may spend any amount of Kobolds to reduce or increase what they spend or receive (your choice).
You may spend Kobolds to steal other players or a Village’s Cows and Gold; flip a coin, heads, you get Gold, tails, you get Cows. Flip for every Kobold you spend.
You may spend Kobolds to negate the use of a Kobold card; alternatively, you may spend 1 DP and just eat the Kobolds (1 DP per Kobold), but you count as eating a Kobold.
You may spend a Kobold (only one per turn) to explore one adjacent tile for free.
You may eat a Kobold instead of a Cow, but the next time you spend a Kobold, you must use one more than you would normally need to.
If you are attacked by Adventurers, you may distract them with Kobolds; flip a coin, if heads, the Adventurers ignore you, if tails, the Kobolds failed. You may spend as many Kobolds as you please for this.
If Adventurers attack your Lair, you may spend Kobolds to defend it; spend one Kobold if the Adventurers moved 6 tiles to reach the Lair, you must spend 3 Kobolds to defeat them; 4 if they moved 5, 5 if they moved 4, etc.
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)01:02 No.6782610
A player must spend 1 DP to even enter the Kingdom where they can Barter for both Cows and Kobolds (same price as the Cows), or attempt to steal a Virgin.
A player may attack the Kingdom; and it is resolved as follows:
Roll a d3+1; this is how many duels the player must fight against the Kingdom, which counts as a Dragon with 10 DP points; you may use Kobolds.
If the player wins; they gain 10 Gold and 10 Cows and your Lair is moved to the Kingdom, but start the next turn with only half the allotted DP as you recuperate from the battle.
If you lose, you lose your Lair, Gold, Cows and all but one Kobold; you start your next turn in the corner.
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)01:04 No.6782624
    Finally, the players themselves.
When a Dragon lands on a tile occupied by another Dragon, they may challenge the other Dragon to a duel; the players must choose between Friendly, Fortune, and Fatal duels.
Friendly duels are as follows: each player rolls a d6 and adds their DP; whoever wins may request one Cow, Kobold, or Gold from the loser, who is not obligated to do so.
Fortune duels are as follows: each player agrees on how much Gold they stake on the duel and then duel as above; the loser MUST give up their gambled Gold.
Fatal duels are as follows: each player agrees on how many DP they stake on the duel and then duel as above; the winner gains all the DP that the other lost.
Kobolds may not be used in duels.
Alternatively, the players may simply attack each other; this is resolved as a duel, but the loser must forsake 2d6 Gold to the winner, lose all their DP (the winner does not gain this DP), and start the next turn in their Lair.
A player may attack another player’s Lair; this is resolved as an attack with the Lair counting as the player with half their DP, unless the player is in their Lair, wherein it is just an attack.
Dragons may never attack Adventurers; your hubris is far too great to assume they can do anything to hurt you.
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)01:06 No.6782638
The first time a Dragon does anything to a Village that is not Bartering, the Adventurers (represented by the Robber Catan piece) are placed on the board on the Kingdom tile.
Adventurers move randomly on each player’s turn for a random amount of tiles; roll a d6, this determines how many tiles they move, and then roll a d6 to determine where they move.
The exception to this rule is if a player has stolen a Virgin; then the Adventurers will move to that player’s Lair. If they reach the Lair roll 2d6; this is how much Gold that player loses. They also lose the “Virgin” and cease to be a target.
The other exception is if a player has captured a Village; the Adventurers will move to the Village and stop; the player will not gain any Gold, Cows, or DP on their next turn from the Village. On the next turn the Adventurers will move towards the controlling player’s Lair, see above.
Adventurers have a short attention span; if they are moving towards a Lair with a Virgin in it and another player steals a Virgin; on the next turn, the Adventurers will then move to that player’s Lair. The same applies for captured Villages.
    >> Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)01:06 No.6782645
    Win Conditions:
    Control all the Villages
Control the Kingdom and at least half of the Villages
    Gain 25 Gold
Defeat both or all your opponents in an attack in one turn (3-4 players only)
Own all the Kobolds (SUPER WIN)

I tried to go as simple as possible.
    >> Village and Mountain Rules Leman Russ 11/20/09(Fri)08:16 No.6786368
Cows can be used for bartering with villages, they are needed for eating, and they can also increase your movement.
If you draw a Gold card, you automatically gain 2 Gold.
Kobolds can be used to steal from other players, Villages, help you in battle, defend your Lair, fuck up other players, eaten, or used to explore.
At the beginning of the next turn, flip the nickel back; that tile can now be re-explored.
When you land on a Mountain, you MUST spend 5 Gold, 5 DP, or 5 Kobolds, or any combination to build a Lair.
If you land on a Village you may do a few things:
You may Barter; trading 1 Gold for 1 Cow, or vice versa.
You can Pillage; spend 2 DP and roll 1d3, or 4 DP and roll 1d6, then flip a coin: this determines how much of either Gold or Cows you get (heads is Gold, tails is Cows).
You may steal a Virgin; gamble up to 2-6 DP: if you roll equal to, or beat it, you get that much DP in your next turn, plus you get a Virgin. This makes you a target for Adventurers.
You may demand Worship; roll a d10: if you roll under or equal to your current DP, you control the Village.
Controlling a Village means you get 2 Cows and 2 Gold per turn, but it makes you an even bigger target to Adventurers.
    >> Anonymous 11/20/09(Fri)08:17 No.6786376
    >>6782610
Why do you lose your lair if you lose to the Kingdom?

    >>6782624
This seems abusable; no good player is going to voluntarily give up resources, and there's nothing to stop me only wagering one gold on the outcome of a duel. Why not have a single duel, where the attacker sets the number of resources wagered, and the loser suffers some kind of penalty to their DP?

Here's an idea. At the end of each turn you control a Virgin, she gains a counter and you are a target for Adventurers. At any time during your turn, you can ransom the Virgin back to a city/village, gaining gold or DP equal to the number of counters and ceasing to be a target.

It's definitely still a risk, so I probably should make a certain amount of Virgins a win condition. Perhaps if you control a certain amount at the beginning of your turn, or have stolen X many during a game.

It is meant to be a fast and loose game of dicking everyone over. Like Munchkin, but a board game, and you're playing the monsters.

Jesus shit this is going to take a while. I'll give you a tl;dr, I need to go to bed and I can't be fucked finishing organizing these rules.

    - Each player has Gold, Livestock, Kobolds and Dragon Points. Gold is points, Livestock is food, Kobolds are minions useful for a bunch of things, like altering opponent's dice rolls and stealing Livestock/Gold.

    - Dragon Points (DP) represent how badass you are. They determine how far you can move in a turn and how much food you need to eat. If you don't have enough Livestock to crunch, you lose DP.

    - The map is populated by villages, which you can rob and terrorize. This gains you resources but makes you a target for wandering Adventurers. These fuckers will attack you or your lair and steal your gold/DP.

    - There's a Kingdom in the centre of the board. You can buy Livestock or Kobolds there in exchange for Gold, try to conquer it, or steal Virgins. The last two make you a target for Adventurers.

    - The goal of the game is to own all the villages, have 25 gold, beat the shit out of the other players, or own the Kingdom/half the villages.
