    'The Hero Has To Die'
    >> Anonymous 11/22/09(Sun)23:16 No.6825169
    >>6824961
it's been two months since the meteor hit the earth. It hit the icecaps. Millions died in the floods, maybe billions. It's hard to tell where the flood deaths end and the spore deaths begin.

Something came out of that meteorite. Something far smarter than a plant has any right to be. No one can tell you why but they took to humans with a hunger. The 90% of the population that didn't take to the plants as well as they did to them died almost instantly. Before getting back up that is...

Now, I don't like throwing around the word "zombie" so I'm not gonna. The body doesn't do anything more than hide them. The roots, the vines, they're always below the surface, dragging the body along with them like a hermit crab drags its shell.

But they're not a problem if you stick clear of them. What you have to worry about is the blue ones. And not because of what changed, but because of what didn't. The 10% of the human race that didn't die or get turned into a shambling pot for some alien plant is split down the middle. 5% took to the plants like they were going out of style. The plants didn't eat them up like the others, they flourished and bore leaves. The most unearthly blue leaves growing right out of human skin. And the changes they brought about... Ever seen a man lift a bus with his mind? How about draining all the liquid out of someone with his fingertips? Not a pretty sight.

But these superhumans are missing one key thing. Longevity. They last about 4 or 5 years before the plant acts up. It gets into their brain, makes them crazy
    >> Anonymous 11/22/09(Sun)23:17 No.6825176
    >>6825169

But that's where we come in. The 5% who didn't take to the plant at all weren't just incompatible with it. We can barely touch it without it withering and dying. But they figured that out pretty quickly. The blue ones, I mean. One of us can stave off the roots for a good long while. Now, this could be solved with an injection of our blood now and then, at least if the few remaining doctors are right. But that means finding a needle and a willing participant. And any way that you get a bit of us in your system will do the same thing. And that, my friend, is why you've been eying a hunk of wood rather than a shinbone since the start of this conversation. But don't worry. It ceased being a sore subject after I put a slug between her eyes... And there in lies the moral of this story. Whether or not you can throw fire from your hands. You best make good and sure someone is dead before trying to eat their leg like an order of baby back ribs...

In the upcoming Skillion Strumpdun, the most intense dancing competition known to the planes, you'll have to make the best costumes, have the best routines, and play dirty to knock down those who might stand in your way.

The final round is taking place in one of the main plazas, the stadium seating has been built from the bones of star-whales and the teeth of giants, spotlights made from the hearts of angels shine from all directions, as millions gather to watch the spectacle. Dear Sir, this letter is to clarify for you of the unfortunate misunderstanding upon your most recent visist. While the mountainhomes do indeed provide a stunning array of handcrafts and finished poducts from goods both raw and finished, "Beer pajamas" are in fact not a type of foodstuff but instead a rather unfortunate euphemism for our dwarves propensity to spend the entire night carousing amongst themselves only later to arrive at work having not slept and being coated in the remnants and collateral debris of the previous evening.

    I apologize for the mis-communications,

    Sincerely, Daggerballs FlounderRinglets,
