    6 KB Dungeon Keeper Quest Part 3 Greed !!u95zbWX8j7r 11/27/09(Fri)22:21 No.6899791
    Last Thread:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/6893700/

This is a continuation of today's Dungeon Keeper Quest, which had strong influences from both Overlord and from Greed's previous Forgotten King quests.

After awaking in a underground tunnel, with a paladins blade through your heart, you push yourself up and convert the blade with the darkness within yourself to a blade of a shade, one which you can use. You proceed to a treasure room, and encounter a goblin named gorewarp. After a fight with Gorewarp he retreats, and you remark that he was a powerful fighter. You force one of the two goblins left to take you to their home, The goblin city of Grubshire. You take control over it by promising to slay Gorewarp, who is apparently an ancient ghost of a goblin forever haunting the goblin civilization here.
Soon after you take control a neighboring goblin city of Gravenhell, and gain some valuable goblins. To the north are the forces of the black scale kobolds, which you failed a diplomatic encounter with and initiated war.

    [Agriculture]
Green Mushrooms: Docile, Medium Grow Time, standard and useful food.
Blue Mushrooms: An aggressive species, which grows fast and has poison.
Moon Grass: Grass which grows underground and glows blue. Moon grass has medical properties.
Sun Grass: Grass which grows underground and glows orange. When moon grass and sun grass and allowed to grow together they make wonderful patterns, such as paintings, faces, and other such images, like they are being guided by an invisible hand.

    [Grubshire]
Grubshire holds 48 Goblins Total, 8 of which are stone workers, 24 of which are capable at combat, 6 of which are good at combat, and 10 of which are farmers.

It has a broken gate, 5 green mushroom farms, 2 blue mushroom farms, and 1 Moon grass and 1 Sun grass farm. It also holds one goblin which has Petrifying Touch (which he gained after he was petrified by a basilisk and survived), and one goblin who has some knowledge of magic and medicine (He was the shamans apprentice, but the shaman recently passed away).

    [Gravenhell]
Graven hell is a goblin village who swore loyalty to you when you saved them from an aggressive take over of the blue mushroom fungus. It has 52 Goblins, 2 of which are metalworkers, 10 of which are miners, 22 of which are capable of combat, 8 of which are farmers, and 10 of which are thieves. The thieves are the ones who accompanied you on your diplomatic mission to the Black Scale Kobolds.

Gravenhell contains a Forge, a Mine, and an Anvil. The mine contains Tin and Copper which is already being made into bronze, and a mysterious yellow crystal which has just been discovered and is being harvested.

The most recent turn of events states that the armies of the Black Scale Kobolds and their scouting parties are around your cities, somewhere, and that one of the local messengers has gone missing. A local goblin commander has a plan for action.

What do you wish to do?
    >> Greed !!u95zbWX8j7r 11/27/09(Fri)22:28 No.6899843
The goblin you last encountered had a plan. A battle plan. ((To be noted: There is a black scale kobold mage you encountered during your mission at their encampment, that is who he is referring to in this plan))

"Ready the military. If a runner has been taken, and scouts are in the vicinity, we must be prepared to make war.

Send armed parties to alert the other villages. Double the guards, then bring the remaining warriors to Gravenhell where you are. Ready all implements of war, and send out picketers to hide in tunnels and ambush scouts.

Once all of the preparations have been made, strike hard and fast against the BlackScales. Take prisoners, especially the mage if you can. Attempt to leave the city as intact as you can, using two volleys of poison bombs to clear the streets before the assault. Since the stonecrafters don't have time to build a battering ram, you're gonna have to break down the gate.

The stonegoblin should use his powers on the Kobolds in the ramparts, and cover the Gobbies as the scale the walls. Once the gobbies hold the wall the stonegoblin must scale it to overlook the battle and continue to support from there.

We can provide direction for our troops, and seek out the mage from there. Once the mage is discovered we will begin to lead from the front, overwhelm him and force a surrender. If the kobolds are unwilling to surrender at that point, it will be all too easy to slaughter the remaining resistance and enslave their women and children.

The only problem I can find is that they are both strongly good and strongly evil. Should they have paladins, which is unlikely, they must be dealt with swiftly. If they have some kind of evil spirit, like the guy we've been fighting periodically, we are likely to be routed unless we can break his influence."

Do you follow in this plan?

    >>6899817

Asking for consultation is probably a good idea, and won't take too long. Any other smart goblins should offer counsel too, especially if it's contradictory.
    >> Greed !!u95zbWX8j7r 11/27/09(Fri)22:30 No.6899862
    >>6899844

Your goblins gather, in the council there is

    -The goblin with stonetouch
    -The apprentice of the shaman
-The 7 Goblins skilled in war

One of the 7 goblins has already brought forward his plan (as seen in the post before this).
    >> Anonymous 11/27/09(Fri)22:31 No.6899874
    >>6899862

Does this idea jive with the other ones? Anything they can offer about countering possible magic influence, spirits, etc?
    >> Greed !!u95zbWX8j7r 11/27/09(Fri)22:33 No.6899888
    >>6899874

The one with petrification suggests using some of the poison you've extracted from a basilisk you've killed. It could prove useful. The other goblin generals completely support the plan of the first, while the apprentice of the shaman stays quiet.
    >> Anonymous 11/27/09(Fri)22:35 No.6899905
    >>6899888

Do I think he's staying quiet because he's low rank, or has a different opinion? Either way, I keep him around afterward to "consult with him on matters of magic" or some shit.
    >> Anonymous 11/27/09(Fri)22:36 No.6899918
Seems we've gotten on a good start, but I think we should keep to Defense more than Offense, after all our keeping our lives is more important than taking theirs.

What do you guys think of this?

You can't tell, but he seems nervous, that is for sure.

All of the goblin which cannot fight are retreating into their fortified homes for safety.

Oh yes... yes. Good plan, good plan indeed. But for now you are on the defense, if you leave now without making a counter attack to lead their forces away, Everything could end quiet terrible for your goblins.

What course of action do you take?
    >> Anonymous 11/27/09(Fri)22:44 No.6899995

Let's just move to gravenhell and initiate the plan. The goblin general has the right ideas.

You ready your forces and proceed to Gravenhell, and your forces take positions. The sneaks hide in ambush locations, and your forces go to the mines. You know battle is near, you can practically taste it. The rune of bloodlust glows on your blade.

Do you lead out an attack on the Black Scale Kobold city, or do you stay near your towns, knowing the mage is nearby, and will soon be captured.

You decide it would be best to find him youself.

"Goblins, Guards, do not let my cities falter." And head off into the caverns, and begin detecting around. Nothing... Nothing yet. 10 minutes pass.

And then, you hear something slither. Basilisks.

You crouch around, trying to avoid them. But they slither, they hide, They're more intelligent than average animals. One of them strikes, you swing your blade and it's head comes right off. Just a few more... Two more strike. One slash comes fast, and the second with a delay, the second one gets a bite on you. Shit. The poison.

Then a fourth... this one is giant, perhaps twice the size as the others, and you are suffering from the poison. Shit you can't defend yourself.

It strikes... and then falls dead. Something killed it.

    You hear laughter.

    Goblin laughter.

The poison, now paralyzing you, is hindering your movement. Regardless you get up.

"What is it you want spirit? Have you come to just laugh at me? to save me just to kill me afterwords!"

It laughs. It laughs hard. It can't be a "he" anymore, not this monster. It can only be an "It".

And then it laughs some more.

"Shade, I've come to collect my just due, you did after all, steal my gold from before..."

    and he approaches closer.

You focus your power, Your blade glows in energy. You can't let this little ant taunt you like this.

Dark purple energy excapes your fist, like lightning, and then you release it and a beam of power explodes from it in a straight line, Piercing right through Gorewarp.

There is now a corpse of a goblin on the floor, and the poison is steadily coursing through you.

Also you just wasted much of your stored energy.

I'll try harder tomorrow, but for now I'm calling it quits.
