I know. So you know, bog Iron swords you can make are better then goblin swords though. Goblin swords are fine and dandy for the little fuckers, but they're not so great for people.

And I'm going to add iron spearheads to the crafting list too.

But we have more than enough iron short swords and steel spears to equip our force, correct? Therefore if we want money, we can just liquidate our goblin swords. Or, for that matter, melt them down for better uses.

we have no source of iron other than bog iron. good armour and weapons are generaly made from steel. if we want those and also want to have our smith to have tome to have other things we will likely have to hire anothe smith and import some steel. that or buy pre made arms and weapons

either one will be expensive, so why not make the money to pay for them now?

Or our waterwheel starts us on the path of smelting our own steel. I really don't see why you're opposed to gearing up our forces now and getting our smiths experience that will serve them when they start dealing in steel, just so we can crank out more crap weapons on the possibility that we can sell them for some sort of profit.

leather armor(the metal is the stuff you need training to use well) and spears are fairly simple to use, the armours light and provides some protection while the weapons are simmilar to many farming tools.

if we need them to fight now they are as good as dead, give them the weapons and armour and they are only mabey dead

    Also, you're right, it's 3am here. BEdtime.

Next thread will be after I figure out how the fuck to make this weapon stockpile and troop equipping system work. It's going to need some work to make the spreadsheet work it out for me, I don't want to have to bore oyu guys with making you work out who carries what (and I don't want the spreadsheet to get that detailed either, it's big enough as it is at 337x12, with most of that space used. I'm off to bed, someone archive this, and everyone else can feel free to argue efficiency in a system that's not only changing as I add things, but the workings of which are a complete mystery to you lot. :P
