Last time you finally made it to Vimestead. After spending more then three excruciating hours at the Travel Bureau, you were able to get traveling papers for the members of your party who didn't have any. You got a few rooms at a local Inn called the Silver Dragon. You got a discount because the owners were a pair of Minotaur who's clan owed Ta'kal's clan. You finished the day with some light shopping and a show.

You've considered getting some maps, costumes, and finding the Wizard College Newt came here to join. You've also thought that maybe renting a house will be cheaper for the few months you'll be here rather then staying at an inn the whole time. Plus you need to pick that suit up from the costume shop and finding a tailor for the silk.
    >> Anonymous 07/24/10(Sat)03:04 No.11320292
Well, I suppose it's time to go shopping then. Get the group together and head out to the market square. The first stop being the cartographer's place of course.

You meet up with the Party over breakfast. No one has any concrete plans, so you tell then do stay close to the inn, but have fun. Keep an eye out on the street.
Well the costume shop is right around the corner, and you were told it would be done by morning, so that's as good a place as any. You step into the shop and a small bell rings over the door, Ruby tagging along because she doesn't have anything better to do. "Oh hello miss! I just finished it a little while ago, try it on!" The woman from the day before once again pulls you behind the screen and strips you down. "Ruby pokes her head around. "Should I be jealous?" The suit now fits you like a glove. It's strange wearing a collared shirt, but the bow tie isn't too tight. The long sleeves and pants feel a bit odd after so long in a skirt and short sleeves, but the cuff links and gloves give you a feeling of class. The frock coat is pretty sharp as well.

Of course Ruby should be jealous. It is only a natural response to a suit so sexy and awesome. To punctuate the remake you stick your tongue out at her. She responds by making a gesture with her own tongue that makes you glad that she is standing BEHIND the shop owner. Thanking her for her services, and promising future patronage, you leave the shop wearing your spiffy new suit and your Top Hat. Your outfit gets you a few glances, and a few children start following you to see what happens.
You head into a cartographer's shop, after getting some directions from a bookish lad at a cafe. Inside maps of all kinds and of all kinds of places stretch out on the shelves. Detailed maps of the country, better then yours, and maps of the city seem to be specialties, but you can find maps of just about anything in the human lands, and a few of the bigger dwarf trading posts. Though there doesn't seem to be any Elf maps out on the floor.

You select a detailed map of the city, and one of the human lands that puts your own maps to shame. Looking at some of the dwarf trading post maps, they all seem to be above ground ones that are hundreds of miles away. You casually head to the counter to pay for your maps. You mention that you met a dwarf of the Bjornson clan, and as if the proprietor has any maps of their... land? A wrinkled and balding man in tiny spectacles look sup at you from a ledger. "Maps of the Dwarf mines are pretty rare for humans to come in contact with. The Bjornsons have the most contact with humans, but they guard their mines carefully. I have a selection of their trading posts, however. They have one here in town, but it hardly needs a map. It's a big building downtown. The city map you've selected has it." You ask about the Elflands. "You and everyone else. With the roads opening soon, they've become a rare commodity. I have one, only one hundred years old, that I may be willing to part with... for a price."The way he says that makes you hesitant. You'll hold off for now, Faral may have a map herself after all.
You pay the two silver for the maps you have and leave the shop. Taking a look at the map... it has everything important. The Merchant Quarter, the College, the four bridges over the river, and notable shops. You seem to be near the mercantile district, where you should be able to find a tailor. You'll need to swing by the inn to get the bolt of silk though.

Let me give you a basic recap, seeing as you can only read from thread 11 on at Sup/tg/ (the link in OP)
We're a traveling Bard. We started off poorer then dirt. Int he first town we came to we met Tabby, a big muscle girl who can lift a cow over her head. She came with us.
We reached the town of Colinswealth, got attacked by bandits on the way. We took out the bandits and turned them in for a bounty. There we met Faral, the Elf bard come to the human lands to learn about humans before ancient trade roads were re-opened. We also met the dancer Zanne and her amazing goat Gregor, as well as the drunken half-elf Bard Tanot. He sold us passage to Vimestead, the second largest human city, where we are now.
On the road we met the stranded and bookish Wizard Newt. (Who had her cherry popped about a week later and is now a sex hound) Further down the road we came upon Grue, the Half Ogre and 'tollbooth'. He was being manipulated by a Dwarf into robbing people. We set him free and he cam with us. Coming along a small village, we put on a show and met Ruby, who is now our other half.
A few days later we spent a few days at an Inn, where we met Ta'kal, the Minotaur Paladin who fell in love with Tabby. She did not return his love. We did a lot of stuff at this inn but those threads are archived and easily read.
After leaving the Inn we met the Halfling Druid Kithri, she gave us drugs that we plan on selling through Tanot. She and her Wolf Sam are with us.

I think that brings you up to speed.

You head back to the Silver Dragon to pick up your silk. Unsurprisingly you find Newt in the stables. Luckily for everyone involved, she and the boy she's with are getting dressed. You needed her anyway.
It's time to head back to school. Picking up the silk and Newt you follow the map to the Wizards College. You didn't really need the map. The tallest building in the city is on the campus. The gates are wide open and people, both wizards and non-magic users, head din and out freely. A large domes building to one side has a large sign proclaiming it to be the largest library int he city, and free to the public between sunup and sundown.
You stop a porter by the gate, and ask him were the admissions office is. "Ma'am, I'm sorry but you can't just enroll in this school. You must have a letter of recommendation."

This little turd just strikes you as a jerk. Bringing yourself to your full height, a whopping 5'1", you poke the man right in the chest. It just so happens that our friend here HAS letters of recommendation! From her master, who tragically died fighting a power Lich, thank you very much! Ruby chuckles at the sight of you staring down someone taller then you.
Newt reaches into one of the pouches at her belt and takes out the envelopes with the seal of her master. The porter, trying to get away from you, looks at the seals, and his eyes widen. "My apologies! I didn't realize that... Right this way madams!" He scurries away with almost indecent haste. Reaching the large double doors that lead into the buildings proper, the porter stops. "I'm beg your forgiveness ma'am, but only students and staff are allowed inside the school. The Library is open to the public, but the rest of the school can be dangerous. I am not allowed to let you enter." He bows low and he bars Ruby and yourself from the doors.

For the record, from now on we should probably do the traditional bard thing and give ourselves a larger share of the proceeds. For instance: if there are 5 party members divide the earnings 7 ways, giving each of them 1 share and ourselves 3 shares. This is because we are expected to finance props, repairs, tolls, papers, negotiations with lords for passage, and all such things in addition to performing. It's just business.

Hurling once last insult at the porter you turn back to Newt. You tell her to meet Ruby and yourself int he Library when she's done. You'll be looking around. You give her a hug and a peck on the forehead, wishing her luck. She blushes her deep red blush and rushes into the building, the doors banging closed behind her and the porter.
You head across the campus to the Library. Statues of lions and strange apes flank the doors. They're pretty ugly apes too, pot bellies with flat faces. Stepping into the library, shelves expand in all directions. A desk sits in the middle of the Library, and all of the eight main walkways lead away from it. Eight people sit at this huge counter, checking books and pointing people in directions. A signpost int he middle of the area points to different sections of the building. This place is huge, the biggest building you can remember ever being in.

You walk up to the information counter. You cough politely and ring a small bell at the desk. A skinny wizard with a beaten up hat and patchy facial hair jumps and nearly screams. "Oh... h-hello. What can... what can I do for you today?" you ask about the music section. "Oh! Oh thank goodness! I work in the Dangerous Geography department! The music section is down that way." He points in one of the eight directions. "Oh no, you're a bard, aren't you? Can you do magic? If you can do real magic, then I need to tell you the Ninth Path is strictly forbidden to the public. Oh I do hope you can't see it! Most bards can't, but then one can and we get the Shamlegger incident all over again and I really, REALLY don't want to have to clean that kind of thing up again. The blood wouldn't come out for WEEKS!"
Cautiously, you also ask for the epic tales. You might get some inspiration for the Ballad of Grue there. "Oh, that's just down to the left, no danger there... but watch out for papercuts!" He points in another direction, still trembling.

As you head towards the Music Section, you think you see a faint outline between two shelves. it looks like a doorway out of the corner of your eye, but there isn't a physical way a doorway could be there. When you try to focus on it, your eye start to water and you feel a headache coming on.
The music section is huge... come to think of it, this Library seems to be BIGGER on the inside then outside. The music section is divided into music by species, you had no idea that Gnolls even had music!

You add a few minotaur poems, though you doubt you've the throat to pronounce the language, and well as one or two dwarf drinkign songs and a few Elf Ballads. The only Ogre music you can find seems to be entirely percussion. Ruby has fallen asleep in a chair nearby.
