    Recollection:

    Your team needs to find the command center of the base and deactivate the Synomium device, because its AI got damaged and it treats you as hostile intruders and locked down the whole base. After fighting through a group of frenzied Tasoths you got up to the upper floor. There you have been ambushed by not one but two Bio-drones from the southern room, you decided to use up all your grenades to get rid of them blowing up both. 38 got hit by the upper left pincer but he should still be okay for the rest of the mission

    The elevator seems to be fine and is powered up, examining it further it leads only downwards back to the lower level where you started, however since you are in the opposite side of the base now it should be a different section of the site that was sealed of from the side where you started.

    The southern door is not locked, it is damaged and the locking mechanism surrendered itself to the erosion, you force it open and check inside. You notice that this is a ventilation room two large tubes are leading to the lower floors otherwise the room seems empty and undamaged. There is some machinery in the opposite end.

    You stash your finding and show 08 the panel, he says that with this and some repairs your team might be able to reactivate the ventilation system. The problem is that this a spare panel for the somewhere else, here the system seems intact and the panel is at their place. Once both panels are fixed on their place the system should be functional unless the long years of being offline damaged it too much. But from the looks of things it should be doable.

    After examining the room, your squad found no noticeable damage besides dust and a little corrosion. 08 said that there is nothing he can find to repair so you take the elevator down to the lower level again.

    You sneak towards the southern room, 68 stays close while 08 and 32 hugs the wall. Looking around the southern room you see that this is the lower part of the ventilation and the control machinery is straight on your left side in the corner.

    After the minor adjustments you successfully repaired the ventilation panel. 08 is really pleased and tells you that the last thing you have to do is that someone needs to go back up because the two panels must be activated together.

    68 is your bro so you take him 08 remains at the panel with 32 at the door.

    You arrive up and 08 gives you instructions via your comm, after a little tinkering with the switches and settings you both activate the ventilation.

    Suddenly the tubes around you start to emit a dim rumbling noise and shake a bit as the pressure suddenly moves inside them the noise stops rumbling and gets a bit sharper, you notice the dust and sand is suddenly sucked away from the floor and into small filtering holes in the room’s corners. You can also feel fresh water coming inside and filling the room giving you a refreshing feeling.

    08 reports the same things and tells you that you successfully turned on the ventilation and he thinksthe lights should come on anytime now. You wait a bit but the lights do not turn on, 08 says that something else must be damaged or something does not allow you to override the lockdown and send power to the lights.

    68 is on the ground and the floating monster’s incredible speed give no time for him to move out of the way, the tentacles of the monster wrap around 68’s arm and for a few seconds you can hear grunting noises from 68’s comm as his body shakes a for a moment but goes completely limp afterwards.

    You shoot but this horror is on high alert and lets go of 68 and darts away from your shot. 68 just lies there now completely paralyzed although not yet zombiefied as the Tentaculat did not have a chance to bite on 68.

    32 can fire once again as the monster take a moment to consider who to take down next

    Well after Lord Quest and Tau Quest I think everyone is used to have mass bad rolls and shit fucking blows up. Imagine what would happen if I had 2 or 3 of these nightmares coming at you.

    Sadly 32 missed his mark again, the Tentaculat considers him a higher threat and lunges at him, however. It made a mistake when choosing 32 as the next victim it now came into a crossfire between you and 08 who just arrived.

    Now 08 and you both have a chance to shoot it down.

    You shoot on the moving Tentaculat but it dodges again it seems impossible to kill this floating horror your squad’s morale is dropping sharply. It is just about to grab 32 but then…

    Suddenly its brain ‘assplodes’ when a sonic blast from 08 pierces through it sending it straight to the wall while leaving a trail of disgusting yellow liquid after itself like a cracked egg, it hits the wall with a splashing sound and falls down.

    08 emerges from the ventilation room victorious. He is truly the toughest and sharpest Lobsterman veteran you have met.

    You quickly go 68 and use your medi-kit to diagnose the situation. Plugging your interface into the machine it springs to life. You hold it to 68’s body and scan it. Your squad are all collectively relieved that it shows no lethal or permanent damage but still 68 is in a bad condition. The paralyzing touch of the Tentaculat rendered the majority of his body paralyzed save for his most basic life functions. Sadly 68 does not have any artificial organs which could possiblly take over some of the load right now.

    You plug the medi-kit to 68’s neck transfusion access and administer stimulants.

    08 and 32 stands guard after a little time your medi-kit signals that 68’s life functions are getting stronger. Soon he can communicate with you a bit through the common interface but he still paralyzed completely, he only says some words that he is okay and that he still cannot feel anything.

    You can attempt improve his condition 2 more times, roll again to attempt but just one roll per attempt.

    You inject another dose of stimulants but now into his waist transfusion access. 68 reacts surprisingly well on them and he can feel the life returning to his limbs. Soon he manages to sit up and move his arms and legs he says he still feels too weak to fight but much better.

    Lastly you inject the last dose of permitted stimulants, the medi-kit warns you that any more than this much could nerve damage. You wait and anticipate success and in a little more time 68 can stand and even lift his guns. He says that he feels confident that he can continue the mission with the squad.

    I apologize but I m afraid we will have to wrap up the session here, I honestly intended to have more things happen this session but I clearly underestimated the Tentaculat, this is a horrible horrible creature next time I’ll think twice before I throw another one at you.

    As the one who rolled so horribly for most of the combat and perfectly for the medical I thoroughly enjoyed this session.
    I know that Tentaculat should not have taken that long but I cannot complain as it became far more exciting for me as I was fearing I may cause the entire teams death with every roll. this made my elation even greater when I finally rolled well enough to defeat it.
