It was only yesterday that I was a lowly shreep-tender.

That all changed when my master, the great ruler of the Tower of Adan, summoned me. I was sure it was to be the day of my anointment into the ranks of wizard-kind... even though I had yet to cast a spell successfully.

When I ascended the tower and entered Adan's workroom I found myself alone. Flush with excitement and buoyed by my own natural talents, I took it upon myself to attempt another spell - this time with an enchanted scroll I found close at hand.

Adan, furious at my work, warned me that I had brought the creature back to an unhappy half-life, and bade me to keep it near as a constant reminder of my shame.

In the course of his frothings I learned that he had called me to him not to ascend me to the ranks of wizard-kind but to banish me for my failures as his apprentice!

As he sent me from his sight he uttered one final sting: that I would never be a wizard.

Furious with Adan's cruel words I fled, to the dungeons of his tower where strange evils are kept like poison in bottles. There I made a bargain with one of the bottled nightmares for the power Adan had denied me. The creature was only too eager to help, and brought forth a book of blasphemies that filled my heart with a cold and cruel magic.

As I left the Tower of Adan I vowed that someday his tower, and his head, would be mine.

    Inventory:
    One shreep (female, tame, rideable)
    One skeleton helper (Bob)
    One pitchfork (muck-encrusted)
One book of blasphemies (bound in the skin of infants or something)
    One small pouch (empty)

    Spells:
Witchlight: Summon a glow to light your way in darkness

    Abilities:
Second Sight: See invisible entrances (and possibly other things, but so far you only know you can see the hidden entrance to the dungeons of the Tower)

Now a new day has dawned, and I find myself free of Adan's grip. The book I carried out of his tower lies safely hidden in my hovel, though I doubt he even knows I possess it.

From beyond the walls of the shreep pen, the shouts and calls of the market carry through the warm spring air, and I find myself adrift. From farther still I hear the ringing shouts of sailors at the dock. And farther still the mountains loom at the edge of Adan's domain.

    What will you do, Apprentice?

I think there's a little more than that. yeah we killed her, but our insult was probably the thing she'll remember the most. This wasn't some high school prank, this was directed at the town harlot. there must be some underlying trama uncovered in our insult to make her run out of that room with tears streaming down her face, I doubt this was a one time thing as well. she was our nemisis, and our abillity to do this to her on the fly makes me think we've been doing this often for a long time. we should skip town, odds are we're the prime suspect.
