    Chapter 2: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Sororitas%20Quest

Anna grumbled but complied with your order, Tybalt limping quickly after her. Though she tried to get away quickly, she did seem comforted by the mechanical dog's presence.

The Farseer slowly stood, gesturing to where the communications array was. "Do you need any help Inquisitor?"

Filigree was standing there, completely rigid. Her eyes were tracking some imaginary creature, biting her lip so hard it bled.

(Rodwen only has a team of warlocks. No warp spiders)

The farseer sniffed. "I am using my mental abilities to strike down the enemy's renforcements. Several pods would have landed on the doorstep of this building had my warlocks and I not stopped them..."

Her eyes narrowed a fraction. "And please control your acolyte! She is an embarrassment to your team when she acts as such. I would never-" The Eldar stiffened, her eyes locking on the center of the roof where Filigree was staring.

Filigree had begun shifting restlessly, gibbering to herself, letting out a tiny laugh every few moments.

"Everyone head toward the door..." Rodwen's voice was cautious.

Anna glanced at you her trigger finger twitching. "We have to get that communication out..."

You all skirt to the door, an overwhelming force hitting you between the eyes. Something very powerful is about to warp out he-

You don't get to finish your thought as a massive gate is torn open, a daemon prince walking out. He is clad from head to toe in black armor, the marks of both nurgle and slaanesh on his armor. His body looked stripped of flesh and he left an acrid decaying smell in his wake.

He had two weapons. A lash of torment connected to one arm, and a massive chain-fist on the other.

    >Protip: you know what he's good at, look at his Marks.
Alright, this guy bears the marks of Slaanesh and Nurgle
Slaanesh shows aspects of pain, pleasure, and lust.
Nurgle takes aspect from disease, morbidity, and death
He has a lash of torment- a deamonic weapon that feeds off the pain of its victims
He has a chain fist.. not sure what that tells us

    >>12677082
    >>12677082
Now this guy has me confused-
from what I'm reading, the chainfist is a clumsy weapon. Most people who wield it should be expected to be hit first in a fight, and again, if they miss their target.
The whip, apparently, has a mind of it's own, and is lightning fast
Slaanesh is all agility and grace- nurgle is plodding and round
    >> Anonymous 11/04/10(Thu)12:36 No.12677279
    >>12677260

you forget he has a mass of uber fast tentacles on one arm. He probably doesn't meed to be super precise with that chainfist if he gets a hold of you.

Also, what if he has the positive aspects of nurgle and slaanesh and not the negatives? he's uber fast and uber tough?
    >> Anonymous 11/04/10(Thu)12:37 No.12677280
Alright, I think what this guy will do is, he himself will be slow and plodding, somewhat, or at least not terribly agile. His whip, on the other hand, will not be, and will probably try to ensnare one of the party long enough for the big guy to finish them off with the chainfist.
Because he's slaaneshi and nurgle, he's probably a damage soaking thickie too, to top it all off.
    >> Anonymous 11/04/10(Thu)12:39 No.12677299
    >>12677279
I think he should have both, though telling him "Nobody loves you because you're ugly!" probably won't work as well as on the minor deamons of Slaanesh and Nurgle.
Alright, irregardless, it's obvious that this guy is going to be a real pain in the ass. How do we deal with him?

Hopefully the stormbolter crew will start up their own version of bullet hell, while the eldar Warlocks would be boosting the attacks of the Farseer.

I am, well, overwhelmed might be a good word, for a moment. Really? Greater Daemon of chaos out of fraking nowhere? And he's a hybreed too, nice.
I shake off the worst of my disbelief, however, and with a curt wave, try to indicate to the rest of the squad that I'm handling things at the moment, but that they should be ready for when the shit hits the fan to- heck, I don't know, run, fight. The important thing is that they're anticpating something will happen.
I stride forward- trying my best to display confidence even as my bones quake. I address the abonimation. "Daemon, I challenge thee, as is my right. Speak, that I may know your name,"
He may try to squash me like a bug at this point, or he may be amused enough to indulge my speech for a few minutes, and THEN squash me like a bug- the important thing though is that he now has all his attention focused on me.

Ok what do you guys think about this? if you liek it i'll type it out

we have anna lay down a supressing fire. dont shoot *at* the prince but near him.

Have filigree harass in his face since she's clearly the fastest while the twins fly around and look for openings since... you know, they're seraphim.

meanwhile have the farseer buff the sisters and debuff the prince.

This will allow you to get to the communications array. You're the one who got the message anyway. You're probably the only one with the return frequency to communicate with them.

just do this long enough for you to get the message out and then ram him through the back with your force blade. Daemon Princes are bad news but if he's still relying on something like a chainfist and not a daemonic or natural weapon he's probably not *that* high ranking.

Alright, possible scenario: Annas squad gives the deamon prince a new definition of bullet hell.
I, (inquistor Delessa Kravos), have used enhance sense, and am now making called shots to disarm the deamon of his whip (even if it means literally dis-arming him) I hope Anna will be doing this as well.
Our mutual Friend/not Enemey (Frenenmy?) Rowdan should now begin spamming psykic powers.
See if any of this gives him any pause- if the bullet spam does not have any affect, then we move on to Plan B. I, Carol, Coral, and Filigree begin moving in for CC, and distracting him long enough for the Actual Plan B to take place

I try my best to communicate my plan to my comrades in as few as words possible. Namely- keep the daemon prince busy. Anna, Keep concentrated fire on him from the storm bolters, and Carol, Coral, Filigree, will harass him from all sides in Close combat.
Farseer Rowdan, well, you know how to use your powers better than anyone else here, so I'll let you decide what you need to do.
I'd try and disable that tentacle whip of his from range before he has a chance to use it, if I were you
I'll send my remaining servo drones out into the fray to keep up the confusion from all sides, and run as quickly as possible to the comm array (probably by enhancing my body through the use of biomancy) call down the Titan, and then rejoin the fray.

The vortex grenade bounces once before going off under the feet of the daemon prince. Mild surprise crosses his face as he is pulled back to where he came from, the portal expanding, cracking the roof under your feet, sucking everything in.

Rodwen pulled two of her warlocks back, preventing them from following the daemon into the portal. One of Anna's sisters, however, was not so lucky, screaming as she was pulled into the unfettered warp.

"You... You stupid mon-keigh! How are you going to get to the array now? He will merely walk back out of the initial warp portal once your vortex dissipates!"

The farseer was correct. It would be impossible to edge around the vortex while it was active, leaving a huge hole in its wake as it slowly contracted.

Crossing the roof, you must now edge around a sheer drop off the side of a building, and a fifty foot drop from the vaulted ceiling onto the floor below.

The roof continues to crack under your feet. You don't have much time...

Srsly you guys though. know what weapon your using before using it. You're in a stone temple, likely thousands of years old. A vortex grenade makes a huge, spherical, very very unstable black hole to the warp. It could float there for hours, it can expand to take out miles and miles of terrain. it can fizzle and do nothing.

Use our psyker powers to send a message to Esme and ask for her to help the sisters pulled into the warp.
"We had a slight mishap here, there should be a sister close to this location in the warp, please, she's from Anna's squad, try to get her back as safely as possible."
    Facing the others:
"Get out of here, Carol, Coral, try to catch me if I should fall. I got us into this goddamn situation, I'll get us out of it."

(sorry but it DOES affect how the other characters react)

The sisters need no communication, Anna and her team stepping forward, pressing the daemon back and away from you. He growls and steps back, effortlessly batting the servo skulls away, shattering them.

It was, however enough of a distraction for the twins to get in close, the two seraphim taking occasional cheap shots with their inferno pistols.

The farseer, getting your message, began sapping the daemon's abilities, the warlocks doing the same.

Filigree rushed after you, not having the training to act on her own and not really wanting to attack a daemon prince.

Even slowed and hindered by the Farseer, the prince was still faster than the hovering twins, and without Filigree's speed to distract him, they were in huge danger. The writhing mass wrapping around one of their ankles, plucking her out of the air, screaming. She dropped her inferno pistol, striking with her phase sword as the hooked tendrils slipped into cracks in her power armor and dug into her flesh.

You reached the array with no trouble and uploaded the data with an override command confirming your identity as an inquisitor.

This means we'll have to go Melee with this guy, but I think that's a small price to pay to negate his ranged whip attacks and his weapons ability to ignore armor.
That should, at the very least, help the twin in trouble.

You manage to sever a few of the lashes but there are too many holding her.

Filigree jumps on his back, digging her lightning claws into him.

The other twin screamed in fury, divebombing him, ramming her blade down into the neck of his power armor.

Sister anna and her squad change targets, firing at the prince's legs.

The Daemon prince bellows in rage and agony, flinging the entangled sister to the side, into the array, the metal shrieking and bending upon impact. Luckly your message was already delivered.

The lash goes after Filigree next, backhanding the other twin off of him, the blade on the chainfist severing one of the wings off of her jump pack, shattering a pauldron, and grazing her face, blood slowly oozing down her cheek. Her sword is still in his neck.

Filigree gets entangled in the lash, the barbs piercing her skin, but she doesn't seem affected by it... or is getting off on it. Not that it mattered since she was still trying to claw his face off.

(keep your replies in first person plz. it really helps)

You began to mess with his tech, his suit and chainfist sparking and whirring, the joints locking.

You are overcome with vertigo as the high amount of warp activity floods your mind, making you nauseous but you stand your ground.

Filigree slashes his arm clean off, the lash falling away from her. She looks a bit disappointed and pokes at the severed arm gently with one lightning claw.

The farseer switches from debuffing to offense, every warlock in her retinue switching to warp lightning as the farseer began to float, crackling with energy.

Anna focused her shots, she and her team emptying hundreds and hundreds of bolter shells into his chest.

He howls again, lashing out with his mind, sending half of Anna's squad flying, several down the stairs, into the wall, or skidding across the roof. Several warlocks were caught in the blast as well, skipping and bouncing over the rough stone, their robes being torn to ribbons,

You leap easily onto his back, Filigree snapping out of her stupor and slashing at his face. He stumbles back, one of Anna's bolter rounds striking you in the shoulder before the hail of bullets stop.

The medical Servo Skull flies over to the twin in the shrapnel.

The Farseer continues to charge her massive attack, her warlocks turning their power to help her prepare. You better get the hell out of the way when she unleashes that blast...

You grab onto the C'tan blade, firing your psycannon bolts into his head. He swings back at you with his chainfist, but his bulky armor prevents him from getting to you from that angle. You send psykic energy thorough him, forcing him to the ground, the fractal blade shearing easily through his armor as you stumble back from him.

Though he has a rather large hole in his skull, he seems more pissed than injured.

He tries to launch a psykic assault against you, but Filigree gets in the way, still determined to claw him to bits. The force of the etherial blast sends her skidding, her claws making sparks against the stone as she tries to slow herself, tumbling off the side of the building. She manages to grab a protrusion from the shattered array however and the metal does not seem like it will give anytime soon.

I advance swiftly, take the fight to his knees- he's already been stunned several time, and has lost balance. Because of his ridiculous armor design (probably including huge pauldrons) he is top heavy, and should have a very low center of balance.

You manage to get away as Rodwen unleashes the most powerful Eldritch bolt you've ever seen. It hits the daemon prince square in the chest, knocking him back what must have been at least a mile, crashing through three buildings before coming to rest. It probably didn't kill him, but he was out of your hair for now at least.

Filigree had already managed to inch her way back over to the side of the building and climb back up, despite the lightning claws. "Honey! I'm home!"

The twin who had been knocked out slowly climbed to her feet, one hand on her head, she jerks up suddenly, rushing to her sister in the shrapnel.

The medical Servo Skull was sitting next to her, its eye flashing red and beeping quietly. The uninjured twin stood before her other, trembling, eyes huge as she stared at the huge shard of metal protruding from her sister's torso.

The bleeding twin was breathing very shallowly, struggling to stay conscious, blood trickling out of her mouth. She was completely silent save for her haggard panting, looking to be in a great deal of pain, several of the barbs from the lash still embedded in her skin.

Medical Servo skulls only flash like that when they cannot help the person...

Rodwen and her warlocks come over, all looking exhausted. "It appears the assault has slowed for now. Chaos must be regrouping..." She watched your attempts at healing her, sighing. "The barbs... The young mon-keigh is filled with the venom from the lash. Healing her psykicly may do more harm than good. Her wounds must be treated with a medical facility though I doubt she will survive regardless. She has lost too much blood."

The uninjured twin turned on the farseer, reaching for her weapons, faltering when she realized she dropped them. The farseer raised one eyebrow and was about to speak when the ebon chalice sister's fist connected with her face.

    "TAKE IT BACK!"

You have never seen a human being so enraged by a mere observation.

It takes three of Anna's team to hold her back, Sister Anna herself moving and using a power knife to cut the shrapnel behind impaled twin, ignoring her scream as she caught her, several other sisters supporting the dying girl. Her sibling, struggled against her captors, well beyond reasoning.

"We're going to take her inside. We've got to stop this bleeding." Sister Anna bit her lip. "I'm not as skilled as Verity but i'm going to try. Farseer. I'm going to need your help. Who is the most dexterous person-" Her eyes fell on Filigree who had removed the lash of torment from the dismembered arm. examining it thoroughly.

"...Filigree!" She dropped the lash in surprise. "I need your help. Get those lightning claws off and hurry up."

The daemonette trotted over to you, holding out her hands. She couldn't get them off on her own.

Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

Follow them inside. While walking after the others we should try to reach any hospitaller squad in the area. "Inquisitor Kravos here, we have one heavily wounded sister with us. I'm in need of an immediate medical evacuation. Also requesting the location of Sister Hospitaller Verity. Kravos out." We should also try to speak to the Farseer before she has to work on the twin. "Farseer Rodwen, would you be able to treat her on your craftworld if our efforts here should fail? I know it is highly unusual to allow any human on the Eldar's ancestral homes, yet she has proven her merit. If there are any problems transporting her there, would we be able to use the portal generator you so kindly gifted me to get her there? Modifying the phase of the wraithbone dish, or something like that? If not, could one of your warp spiders transport Sister Verity to our current location?"

Well, we do have that device that can tear open portals in the warp- perhaps we can use it to get her to an advance medicae facility on an Eldar Craftsworld or something.
Other then that, seal wounds, biomantic powers to help restore flesh or at the very least remove toxins
I don't know if there are any hospitaller squads to spare- but we should definately consider radioing in to tell the people that there's a heavily wounded Deamon prince running around in the city center- give his last known place based on his trajectory.

The uninjured, but now flightless twin slowly calmed down, her frantic cries dying down to an eerie silence. She slowly slid down to her knees, her shoulders slumped in defeat. The sisters who were still present tried to speak with her but it was as if she didn't hear them.

After several minutes the twin stood, walking over and picking up both phase swords, gripping them tightly, her teeth clenched.

A vortex grenade sucks things into the warp where they dissolve into the warp itslef... though i'm assuming it probably doesn't work that way on warp entities like daemons. He had an exit portal right next to the place where you threw the grenade. it would have been a revolving door.

I rolled for grenade malfunction and rolled one number off from it backfiring and killing you all.

the "you cant heal the twin thing via psykic powers" was actually a good thing seeing as psykic powers rolls increase in difficulty every time you use them especially with the warp so unstable right now. Let your powers cool off.

The twin dropped one of the blades, taking the medkit and dashed off inside the building, sheathing her blade.

You walked inside more slowly, standing back as you watch Anna remove the barbs from the armor-less twin with a pair of pliers. her torso was heavily bandaged, the servo skull nearby slowly pumping synthetic blood into her. Someone had found a medical servitor who was contributing to the synthetic blood drip.

Filigree walked over to you, wringing her hands. "Sister Anna had me remove the shrapnel... I hope I did alright... She really hates me..."

You shake it off, moving a little closer to the medical procedure. The distance and amount of caked blood made it impossible to tell which twin it was, even with her neck completely exposed.

The wound itself looked far worse than it had initially, bits of torn skin still visible due to a lack of bandages. They had to be a bit stingy with seeing as she was still bleeding through them.

Walking to the bedside of the injured sister, you lay your hand gently on her's. You lead the gathering of sisters there in several prayers, keeping your words casual but moving so they did not feel as if they needed to cease their tending of the wounded girl.

A sense of peace and strength filled the room and when you had finished, the injured girl was looking up at you, morale restored. She would fight for her life with every ounce of her willpower. Hopefully she'll last long enough for a hospitaller to see to her.

You heard another loud crash outside as the titans engaged in combat and another... and another! They sounded like they were getting closer. It occurred to you that you didn't even know WHAT kind of titans they were.

nothing we can really do at this point about it

(came back, sat down, was about to ask self why no one looked out the window until i saw this :P)

You walk out on to the balcony to see two titans, roughly 5, maybe 7 miles away locked in an epic battle. They were both Reaver class, and both had apocalypse missile launchers

The chaos titan was black with some sort of trim. It looked bronzeish but it was probably a decayed gold. It had a power claw and a laser blaster

The imperial titan was a bright scarlet with black highlights and brilliant gold trim. One arm was a massive melta cannon and the other was a powerfi- wait... You lean forward... Power-DRILL?

Regardless, they were heading this way, and the assault on the main building was bound to resume soon.

You order the emergency webway gate brought into the main hall, ordering the sisters in the area, via your com, to begin setting up both interior and exterior fortifications.

You had two choices. You could summon the eldar reinforcements now or later. Summoning them now would give you time to brief them on the situation, but calling them later would mean you could better taylor the units that you receive according to the enemy unit choices and the sisters who are still alive.

    >Power Drill
    >OURS IS THE DRILL THAT SHALL PIERCE THE WARP
Alright, I'm guessing we should deploy the Eldar Forces now
No telling if we'll get the oppertunity to do so latter
    >> Anonymous 11/07/10(Sun)19:18 No.12717074
"Well, Rowdan, you know the Eldar better then I- which do you think would be better in terms of defensive capabilities,

Rodwen frowns, thinking. "Its much more a matter of luck in this regard. Your sisters are generally skilled with a gun, correct? If you wish to call them now, I must suggest melee heavy."

"Yes, most of the Sisters here are skilled with heavy weapons- storm bolters mostly, along with Plasma canons and such like. I was thinking of setting up choke points in the main entry ways and funneling chaos forces into the designated kill fields. Would the Melee fighters be able to complement that plan? Perhaps holding the broad cathedral venues and stopping the Chaos forces from flanking our positions?"

"If it's luck, then we'll just have to pray whatever you believe in and hope that we have their favor.
I would rather we be prepared now, and call in reinforcments when we need them,"
    >> Anonymous 11/07/10(Sun)20:54 No.12718281
I vote we call the Eldar reinforcments in now
It's better that we have them and not need them then anything else
    Any objections?
