    Chapter 2 pt1: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/12385200/

(Also I just realized that part 11 is labeled as part 12 and part 12 is labeled as part 11. fail XP)

The sister swallowed hard, nodding. "I understand inquisitor... Forgive me for questioning you... You're right, I can do more good if I live at this moment."

You jump as another crash comes from the nearby hallway, the sound of bolter fire coming closer. Filigree stops fidgeting and leaned forward, head tilted to the side as she listened. "This is getting interesting... Heh..."

Florencia and many of the other sisters glanced at Filigree, not sure what to make of it. The sisters aware of Filigree's true nature ignored her or looked away in disgust.

    Caramel glanced her direction. "Curiosity?"

    "Yep."

    "Lovely..."

The door burst open again and several sisters backed into the room, followed by what remained of the eldar forces, and then more sisters.

    "They've taken the second floor!"

"They'll be here at any minute!"

    "Emperor protect us all!"

    To the newly arrived forces:
    "Everybody through?"
If so, start barricading the door and create fortifications with whatever we have in order to stop the enemy from gaining a foothold on this floor.
This would be the time to check if there are any automated defense systems, gun-servitors or something, on the floor. And get the wounded into the chapel, it should be safer I guess. Could we get a layout for this floor?

Ah, okay. Just seemed like those had almost no effect with almost all our troops killed and still having to deal with a metric fuck-load of enemies.

What are we actually waiting for at the moment? Are there any additional forces on the way? Hoping that Esme will appear and ban the enemy? I'm a bit afraid because we have no plan other than holding our ground against an enemy whose supply lines are unlimited. Without any additional support of our own... what are our ships in orbit doing? Still fighting? Already destroyed? Waiting for coordinates to support us via orbital bombardment?

We are fighting untill we are relieved. We do not know when we will be relieved, we do not know if we ever will be relieved. This is a last stand under the pretense of a desperate last defence.
It is likely that the appearance of esme will turn the tide, however we do not know if and when she will appear. But I can't shake the feeling that the black harlot is waiting for her to appear.

Shit- I was hoping I might have more time. I finish applying the purity seals and wards to Sister Caramel - hopefully this should hold for now.
"Quickly, the stairs!" I shout, rushing to where the retreating sisters and eldar appear - "Is this everyone? Are there any others who could still be holding out?"
If there are other pockets of resistance within jumping distance, perhaps we can get the warp spiders to help ferry people and supplies about- I'll ask Farseer Rowden about their jumping capabilities later if I have the chance.
Quickly, I try to remember what the entrances and stairways to the third floor are like- if they're spiral staircases, I can probably mount a sortie and drive back the chaos forces, as their superior numbers will be neglated and they'll be forced to fight me one on one, or thereabouts.
I turn to the Farseer "Well- if you had one of those famous Eldar 'just as plans,' now would be the time to tell us about it,"

Sister Caramel's chaos armor looked very odd in all those purity seals. She moves to the door, sonic weapon in hand. She was tense. "Inquisitor. There isn't any place to go. Just the roof, and we'd be sitting ducks up there." Several sisters also moved to the entrance but they kept their distance from caramel.

You looked around the room you were in. It was large and rectangular. A huge entrance hall to where they kept the most sacred of artifacts and a chamber where the pious could pray and take communion. The area was very ornate but had very very little cover. The main supports for the roof were off to the sides and braced across the top of the ceiling. A vortex grenade could be used near the center area of the room with very little danger.

There were two entrances. The main stairwell heading up to the room you were located in and a long winding staircase to the roof. Off to the sides were a honeycomb of hallways where people could go to pray in silence and "privacy." Behind each room was a narrow passage designed to let priests listen to these prayers for the purposes of uncovering heretical acts.

Now that you think of it, this place must have all sorts of secret or hidden passageways...

"Evangela, do you or one of the sisters stationed here have any knowledge of secret passages or other such things? Any relics stored here that might help us?"
Talk to the canonesses, Evangela and the farseer.
"Give our current situation, I think this might be the best course of action: We barracide the the door and offer only token resistance to the forces of chaos. Our main objective would be to put up a fight that still seems credible while minimising our casulties. We'd retreat to the chambers off the sides and try to herd the enemy to the middle of the room. Our wounded should also be placed there. We should be able to use my remaining vortex grenades to clear out the centre of the room without endangering the integrety of the whole building. Any thoughts?"

And we should pray a bit more to the Emperor for a quick return of Esme or reinforcements.

You know what we need? A song, or a chant or something that everyone can join in on. Not just a song about holiness or how we’re hear to make good for our sins- we need something that reaches straight into your guts and picks you up by your balls. A song about defiance, about standing up against all odds because you know it’s the right thing to do, because of comrades fallen too soon, because you’re fighting for hearth and kin and faith and home, because fighting is what you were born to do and you’re damn good at it, and because fuck the other guys a whole heaping bagful. Something everyone can sing, even the Eldar- something so basic and primal that they pick up on its intentions even without any idea what the lyrics are.

I will be frank- barring a miracle of some sort, the odds seem to say we’re all going to die here. The battle is over. Victory is impossible. Escape is impossible or futile. Surrender will not be accepted, and will lead to a fate worse than death. Reinforcements are not coming.
I must admit that this prospect isn’t terribly appealing to me, and it probably doesn’t sound all that better to you either, but what are you going to do? We’ve all got to die someday or another- present company from Biel-Tan excluded, of course- and if I’ve got to die, well right here, right now, couldn’t be any better place to do so. If we shall die today- it’ll be for the protection of perhaps the most important planet in the galaxy short of holy terra. It’ll be besides dear companions in arms. It will, most importantly, be in a fight that is certain to cost the forces of the ruinous powers dearly. Sisters of the Adepta Sorotias; Eldar of the Craftworld Biel-Tan. You have fought well. You have fought against overwhelming odds, against unspeakable horrors that honestly have no right in existing. You have fought against unthinkable odds, through the death of comrades, through peril to body mind and soul. You’ve fought and won against almost all odds, and have earned every right to serve besides the Emperor the table in the world that comes next. Before that though, there is only one thing to do: make them pay. In blood. Make them pay for every inch they take. For every drop of blood you shed — shed a gallon of theirs. No matter that they outnumber you so badly that you can kill a hundred of them and still be overwhelmed. Take many of the bastards with us as we can.
We can even hope that the casualties we inflict may aid others on our side when we are gone. Maybe. Even if no one will ever know.

But I'm not asking for you to fight for that today.
Even though we do not know what our chances of survival are, so we fight as if they were zero.Even though we do not know what we are facing, so we fight as if it was the dark gods themselves.
Even though no one will remember us now, well, all that means is that we must build our own memorial here. The Chapter might lose us and the Imperium might never know we existed, but the Enemy - the Enemy will know. The Enemy will remember. We will hurt it so badly that it will never forget us until the stars burn out and the Emperor vanquishes it at the end of time. When Chaos is dying, its last thought will be of us. That is our memorial -carved into the heart of Chaos. We cannot lose, men and women. We have already won.
    So fight!
    Fight to make them bleed!
Fight for the souls of the lost!
Fight in memory of those things you hold dear to them!
Fight to rage against the dieing of the light!
    FIGHT BECAUSE FUCK THOSE SONSOFBITICHES!
    FIGHT!
And together, ladies and gentlemen, Eldar and humans, we will FIGHT AS ONE!

Let us group together, regardless of home or hearth
Under the Emperors banner, and tomorrow

    Rise up, as one country,
Rise up for a fight to the death!
    With the dark deamonic force,
    With the damned horde.
Let noble fury Boil up like a wave

The sisters cheer as you finish your speech, Rodwen struggling to be heard over the shouting nuns. The twins are both up and about now, their armor repaired. You couldn't even tell which one had been the one with the initial injury. They were both cheering too.

Filigree stuck out her tongue, speaking softly. "YOU don't have to worry about dying Quizzy. We're bound so unless you make a real ass of yourself they'll keep your injuries non-fatal."

As the cheering died down you hear a slow clap echo through the chamber. There was a woman leaning up against the far wall. She was in a bright violet button down coat and slacks both trimmed in platinum and silver and were of sensuously high quality. Her boots were polished to perfection, her chestnut hair pulled back with a ribbon. her pendant bore the mark of chaos.

"Lovely speech Inqusitor. Lots of fire. I like that." She stepped forward, holding up both hands as every gun in the room was pointed at her. "Ap-bup-bup! Hold on... I told slaanesh this was pointless but I was sent here to discuss the terms for your surrender. Obviously this is a waste of my time, given that speech. It's unfortunate really. Such a waste..." She brushed something off her sleeve. "These chapels are so dusty... How can you stand it?"

The woman chuckled softly. "Ahhh... I would rather not stay and get caught up in a trap like a petty daemon." Filigree flinched. "I also have much to report back. Who knows inquisitor. If you survive maybe you'll change your mind and join us. Chaos truly is wonderful."

She flinched to the side a bit as a sister fired a shot at her, the bolter round hitting the wall behind her just shy of her hip.

She frowned walking forward. "You know... Its rude to-"

Another shot was fired, her upper shoulder and a bit of her chest and neck completely disappeared. The Inquisitor lord stood behind her, near a loose wall panel, surrounded by most of the bonesingers. He had a plasma pistol.

The messenger stumbled forward but did not fall, straightening up as best she could. her head turned around 180 degrees to look at the lord, her skin stretched into a skeletal grin. "As I was saying... Its very rude to shoot the messenger..."

She ignores you, still focused on the inquisitor lord. Thin ropes of bloody flesh and sinew shot across the hole in her chest. With the squelch and grind of meat and bone, the ropes pulled her back to shape, reforming her attire as well as her skin. Her body turned around to follow her head and she slowly advanced on the Inquisitor lord, the older man shooting off a limb, which quickly reformed in the same manner.

Instantly, the nearby sisters staggered themselves, opening fire, the bolter shells ripping huge chunks off of her body.

Sister Caramel grabbed your shoulder. "That's a Pain Strider if I remember correctly. Its one of many abominations created through the union between daemon and human. They are used as messengers because of their ability to shift in and out of the warp at will and the fact they are nearly indestructible. They don't do well with armor and weapons though. They can't shape-shift but they can stretch and contort the shape they have in almost unlimited ways, as well as imitate clothing and the faces of those they've seen before."

From what we understand, shooting it won't work, hacking at it with the energy blade may work, however it is across a room, and it may get to the inquisitor lord before we get to it. Psychic powers seem like a good choice to me in this situation, ranged attack that is more likely to effect it. Especially incinerate, as it is more destructive than a meltagun.

The lord inquisitor is too close, if we flame it, we flame him. We can't wait for sisters to get flamers into a position where we won't hit the lord inquisitor. Constrict may work, it depends whether it can stretch whilst its muscles are taut. I say we go with blood boil or incinerate. With the latter, it will definatly notice. "No inquisitor. You asked me to stay, if you recall." It stretched its neck out and up, flipping it around to face you. Despite the twitching, the rest of its body followed and it slowly approached.

It stopped just short of you, the sisters no longer firing at it. "I wouldn't be so quick to point the gun, inquisitor..." she smelled pungently of brimstone. "I come to you, unarmed, with a message. What you have done is very very rude..."

A muscle under her eye twitched and she jumped down from her perch, a huge psychic wave moving across the room, jamming much of the weaponry.

Filigree's guise dissolved almost instantly. She cried out in pain, managing to just barely remove her armor from the knee down to accommodate her daemonic form.

If looks could kill, both you and Filigree would be on fire.

"You seem to misunderstand slaanesh's offer, inquisitor. A handful of chaos champions, myself included of course, as well as the daemon princes bow only to the master. She manages to parry your force blade, the faint smell of ozone filling the air as the conflicting energies met. The solex blade, however, moved swiftly and unhindered, slicing her bolt pistol in half, burning her sash, and hissing through one wrapped lock of hair.

Screaming in anger, she casts Filigree off, countering your swing with one of her own, her powersword crackling with energy.

I leap into the action, blades flying to my fingertips, air around my resonating with psykic energy. Everything I have goes into the next blows, my mind focused only the neturlization of what is perhaps the greatest threat I have ever faced. I bring the Sollex blade and my own force blade down on her weapon bearing arm- I attack again and again and again, trying my best not to hit Filigree, but keeping in mind only of how dangerous Mirial will be if she lives through this.
My hands transforming into living weapons themselves, flesh growing stronger then steel, more resilient then plascreete. While eh is stil distracted, I latch onto her pauldrons, bitting into them with my fingers, and head butt her repeatedly. That face ain't going to be pretty no more.

Dodge her attack. And then follow up with the blades, they appear to be able to hurt her. Well, hurt her hair at least.

How nearby are loyalists? If we managed to activate a vortex grenade, would it hit them?

If we are able, it may be worth using biomancy to speed ourselves up. It would be cellular control I believe.

Ah, misinterpreted what you meant. Something to consider is that we have filigree with us, becuase miriel is being flanked, she really can't focus entrirely on either one of us, we may be able to get away with sustaining the powers only briefly.

With this in mind, I say we boost our speed, and then strike repeatedly. If we keep our speed boosted for about 10 seconds, we should get a fair number of attacks in.

On a slightly cheesy note, you can use celular control to increase willpower, making it easier to sustain and use more powers.

Miriael screams in frustration, jumping high into the air. You reel back at the last minute, just barely managing to avid hitting Filigree with your swords.

She looks as if she's about to say something, but is cut off as the balck harlot unleashes a huge blast of psykic energy, sending your daemonette flying and you reeling back. You focus back against it with your own abilities but can only make your impact against the wall less severe. You're dazed for a moment but shake it off, trying to ignore the horrible headache forming, as well as the hot fluid running down the back of your scalp.

Filigree is on the floor, not moving, her black watery blood pooling under her head.

Miriael turns her attention from you, swooping down and attacking the sisters. She tore through several with frightening ease, their blood and entrails splattering across the floor before they knew what hit them.

You make your way over to filigree, using your powers to check her for damage and to heal her up. She's lost some blood, but is just unconcious. Her skull must be harder than yours.

You touch up your own injuries as well, the pain dulling considerably.

You turn your attention to the fight. The floor of the battlefield is already slick with blood, bodies, and dismembered limbs. Your eyes find Miriael in time to see her ram her sword hilt deep into Elizabeth's torso, twisting it around before lifting the screaming girl up over her head and swinging it to the side. With a sound akin to dragging a wet cloth over gravel, the blade slips free of her flesh and armor as she is thrown across the room, smashing into a pillar before slumping to the ground, unmoving.

You focus your power on the fallen sister, rage like never before pounding in your head, tinging the corners of your vision red. The Harlot stops mid-strike, letting out a choking sound as you boil her blood, the sisters around her taking the opportunity to strike at her. You don't know how long you can keep this up.

I wrack her with the power of my mind, destroying neural pathways, creating new ones, sending spasms of electricity through her
I take a step forward, and concentrate on her blood, letting it seethe and scar the workings of her internal body as it boils and foams
I take another step forward and steel myself, altering my body on a cruder, less fundamental level- dropping my force blade, my left hand curls and flexes itself, loosing shape and definition as the muscle and bone beneath grows elastic. I lash out and entangle the limbs of the black harlot, sending jolts of bioeletric power through my shapeless arm. Funny, it almost looks like a tentacle, really, more then a- FILIGREE

The shockwave hit a large handful of sisters, Florencia and Anna included. The sisters screamed as their bodies were wracked with the warp's raw energies. The sisters on the fringes of the blast were merely knocked down, but the ones in the direct path suffered a much worse fate, their eyes boiling, molten flesh and fat dribbling off of bone. The elder canoness was knocked off her feet, sliding back several meters, but Anna was hit more directly, blasting back with an immense force. She bounced several times before coming to rest, eyes rolled back, blood and foam leaking from her mouth.

You heard a scream of rage, Sister Caramel attacking from the side, blasting the harlot with her sonic weaponry. The frequency scrambled your thoughts and made your teeth and bones ache, but it completely destroyed Miriael's psychic assault, blood running down her face as her eyes began to rupture.

To elaborate, if we are at the right distance throw our forceblade at the black harlot
Most likely she will parry or block this attack, however between that, our continuing psykic attack, and sister Caramel, that should be enough of a distraction for us to go in and REALLY mess her up with the sollex blade, perhaps even let us get close enough to lay on hands paralysis and insert void sphere

You strike with all the force you can muster, throwing your beloved force blade, following with a strike from your sollex blade. Miriael parries and dodges, jumping up and skewering Caramel, puncturing her jump pack. The motor whines loudly and misfires, sending her spiraling into a small group of corrupt sisters, the small explosion following sending everyone in the vicinity sprawling across the room, some lacking limbs. You didn't see what happened to Caramel.

You were about to shout for Verity when the harlot came down. You try to avoid her strike but the blade pierces your thigh. You scream as she rips it free, rolling to the side to avoid her second strike, already focusing on healing the wound. At this rate you and the sisters would be dead before you could radio for exterminatus!

You look to where your Force blade fell. You couldn't parry with the sollex blade. You needed... You felt a chill run down your spine, time seeming to slow down around you. The warp was undulating... rippling all around you. The corrupt sisters seemed to lose heart, the regular sisters quickly gaining an advantage.

A loud bang resonated through the chamber as the very stuff of reality cracked open in a burst of white hot energy.

There stood Esme, silver armor shining with the Emperor's divine power. In her hand she clutched her blazing force blade. She raised the burning weapon, pointing it at Miriael.

You have never seen any creature, daemon or human, as enraged as she.

You rush forward, firing your inferno pistol. The black harlot deflects the shot with her psykic powers, stumbling back.

Esme strikes fast with her blade, the Black Harlot parrying the strike. You grab your force blade as you charge, thrusting it forward. It pierces her stomach, blood running down the sides of her mouth.

She let out a loud cough, blood splattering forward. You grabbed a grenade off your belt, pulling the pin with your teeth. You yank your sword out and shove the grenade in with one swift motion.

Esme rushed forward, grabbing the harlot by the hair, breaking through the wooden bored covering the window, tossing the harlot outside. She screeched in rage, twisting mid air, her wings extending. She flapped once, hard, back toward the window, the grenade going off. She screamed loudly as the portal enveloped her body, tearing it to shreds as it was sucked back into the void.

Knowing how much slaanesh adored her, though, something as trivial as a Vortex grenade wouldn't keep her down very long.

Verity was already working on Anna. She was in hysterics. The servo skull was patching up the wounded sisters. Elizabeth was being tended by the twins. There were several sisters clustered around Caramel, her body badly burned but still breathing for now. The farseer was wandering around, doing what she could to heal the injured.

Neither Anna nor Caramel looked like they would last long.
