Um, it sort of depends on whether or not you can take care of yourself and how much you plan on integrating into human society. I wouldn't really go for registering, myself, but I... can understand why some folks would. Can't really blame them for it, either.

But considering what I've seen of the SRA, I wouldn't trust them entirely. There are some aspects to the registration process that are a bit too fishy for my liking- that, and the hunter teams they have don't really sit well with me.

Unfortunately, it's the best peaceful option we non-humans can get in these weary times.

And if we prove we can peacefully integrate then there will be no bad blood for our children in the future.

I hate saying this too, as a friend of mine's sister was raped by some of those SRA goons. They got away with it because she was unregistered. If we resort to violence, however, we will never be able to coexist at all.

(But if push comes to shove I'm not saying don't defend yourself, that's just asinine.)

If you're not registered you're basically not a person. You don't get any benefits of a citizen, if you commit a crime you're killed, and anyone can do anything they want to you. You don't exist.
Registering is just granting you citizenship basically, as well as certain benefits. Like, say you're a vampire and a religious fanatic moves in next to you. The SRA will actually help you move. Or Imagine you're a dryad, if you don't register, your tree might get bulldozed.

As a registered ghoul, I have access to the SRA's registered synthetic human flesh catalog, so I'm not trawling allies like a filthy urchin looking for OD'd drug addicts that I can take home and let rot.

Contrary to popular belief, those weren't the Elemental communities fault. A single is Fire elemental is "dangerous" because fire can spread and conflagrate out of our control. (Even though we can't set something on fire if we don't want to.)

The other elementals don't have the power to cause massive disasters, not unless an entire group numbering in the hundreds worked together. And I doubt that happened. Though admittedly it only takes two or three Airies to make a tornado.

Friends, safety is never worth the loss of freedom. If our rights as sentient beings are being infringed upon for the safety of the "public," than the government doesn't deserve our cooperation. They don't deserve our submission, and they most certainly don't deserve our acceptance. No authority is better than total authority.

The way I see it, we've got a few classes of Supernaturals.

Class 1: The harmless ones. Like the fire elemental. Not out to hurt anyone. Try not to. Do as they're told.
Class 2: Register anyway, but are inclined to start things simply because they dislike authority.
Class 3: Batshit insane and loving it, like the mage that was mind-raped out of an SRA (or the foundation) box and is busy juicing gnomes.
Class 4: The actually dangerous ones, the ones out to cause a revolution, or a change, or whatever the SRA is afraid of, and have the ability to do so.
Class 5: Empowered hunters, usually working for the SRA.

The year was 1995. The doc had almost finished my education, but my brain was so developed he had to send me off to the University of Transylvania. Made good friends with a wolfman and a vampire babe.

So one night we hear there's a rally for supernatural rights. Now, I'm technically MADSCIENCE! but 6 of one, half dozen of the other, right? So we attend.

We're not there 5 minutes before I get my head cut off by a gun that shoots swords. Fucking crazy, these Transylvanians. I'm lucky that the other Flesh Golem in my Anatomy class was at the rally too; I don't think anyone else would've bothered to reattach my head.

Wolfman get 10 silver bullets to his belly. They all missed his spine, so he recovered from them in a few moons.

Vampire babe......we're not sure what got her, but I found her clothes and a pile of ashes at the riot site the next day.

I think I little piece of me died that day....and I'm not referring to that bit of spine the Doc had to replace.

Class 1 has the possiblity to become class 2, with enough time and outside influences. Class 2 is liable to reform if given more freedom. Class 3 has the potential to be insanely dangerous - but probably won't be, unless something crystalises for them, giving them a goal. Tend to be the most outright powerful fo the Supernaturals, though, but still less likely to cause problems. Class 4 are usually class 2, given enough problematic restrictions to evolve. Can become class 3, if subjected to enough trauma. I suppose we should add a class 6 for the unregistered out of a sense of fariness, and a class 7 for dragons. Who the fuck knows what dragons ever think?

I mean, I'm a Pennagalan (on my mother's side) so during the day I'm basically totally human, and he SRA supplies me with all the vinegar I need to shrink my organs every night, and artificial blood from donors, but it's totally fucking annoying when I'm out at night and my body is back and home.
I know it's a little creepy with me flying around with all my major organs trailing behind me but shit, I don't even need to hunt for food or anything with the blood I get from the SRA. Except I can't get into lines and late-night showings of shit just because of how I look.

They then pulverize it and something happens and when the separate the new core is an Earthie. Water elementals do something similar I think. I don't know what the Airies do.

It is impossible for any entity to truly be Supernatural. All that exists is natural. To call something Supernatural is to call it Impossible. That we exist is proof that we are possible, therefore it is incorrect to call us Supernatural.

A paradox is something that shouldn't be true by your reckoning, but is. Paradoxes only occur when one has an incomplete understanding of reality. 'Doing the impossible' likewise means you are simply discovering that something you thought could not be done is in fact doable.

I can't speak for other species of Alien, but the answer is "kind of." PSI aptitude is the norm for us, but aside from the occasional mutant we don't really have any 'supernatural' beings.

Our genome is actually pretty diverse, so members of my, well, let's say extended family, for lack of a better term, range from about 2-7 feet in height, and tend to have a bluish tint to our skin, though light and medium grey is also common.

Now a Mutant, as we call it, is someone with attributes that fall outside the norm for our species, and/or have powers that don't fit PSI theory.

But if you really want to be freaked out, there's always the stuff we run into in-between the stars. But I think it's better not to discuss it.

in New New South Wales they are still pretty hardcore about insisting roman catholicism was right all along and anyone claiming to be an angel is pretty much banished
here in Vic though it's pretty relaxed, though that may just be the huge influence of the 'cafe culture' - its pretty much accepted knowledge that angelics make the best espresso in the world

I'd watch yourselves around the SRA, guys. Don't get me wrong. They're trying to run a legit operation, but it's like how normal police officers work. Who watches the watchmen? You get good and bad ones, but the bad ones don't get called out because of the tendency to watch their own. Even if they had someone looking over their shoulder, who says those guys are the ones that you should trust?

I'd suggest registering for the protection and rights, but make sure you watch yourself till you know if the guys that operate in your area are trustworthy. If they end up being good, for god sakes don't move unless another apocalypse hits.

You could actually try to make friends with one in their off hours. Even the awful ones have the tendency to make exceptions in their power abuse for guys they're fond of.

Ever since that dragon attacked HQ, we've had protests, counter protests, even fucking bombing attempts up here, not to mention the fact that they're farming out their work to us while they try to track down the father, work on helping the mother, and get the exact species of each of the eggs identified (that draconic 1 generation speciation thing makes it hard as hell without cracking the shell) so that they can put together prime incubation conditions.

Looks like we've got rumors all over the place again. Look, first off, anyone who doesn't know a damn thing about us, maybe take a look at the website: http://monsterlicenses.com/ It might help a bit.

And secondly, to clear the air a bit: We aren't part of any government. We're associated with the UN, but have since separated in order to avoid political ties for our work.

The SRA is here to help you, peroid. We don't have much of a say in the laws of the land, but we have worked to secure rights for as many supernaturals as possible. I know the whole 'No citizenship without registration' thing is BS, but it's for your own good. Registration doesn't only provide you with basic person hood, it also identifies you in the eyes of the law, and ensures basic rights that are needed in your specific case. Registration resolves issues like undeath and inheritance rights, immortality and retirement ages, genus loci and property rights. It's not so much about citizenship as it is about the police needing to wait until the sun is down to break in and search and criminal vampires home, for example (no registration, no record of being one of us. which means the humans don't know that it'll kill you to do).

We do sponsor hunter squads. This is part of what allows us to guarentee the rights that we do - most police forces and military won't hire Supernaturals, so they can't handle those of us that go rogue and try to blow up buildings or something. So when an SN commits a crime, it's our squads (which, btw are almost always at least 50% supernatural (same with our offices - the SRA is the world's leader in employing supernaturals). If a bunch of humans claim to be SRA, don't fucking listen to them unless they can provide credentials.) that find them and take them in - and the hunter squads only ever target those who commit crimes. We don't drag random SNs off the street and force them to register.

Finally, we work for greater supernatural rights. The fact that you can walk around and get jobs and not be lynched is thanks to our efforts. If everything goes well, one day, we won't even be needed, but for now, we try to keep things as peaceful between humans and us as we can, and make certain that things don't go to pot.

Human Leviathan, Sseth of Lamia same thing. World devouring godlike creature, we've seen this before.

Nothing personal, but we got so many doomsayers and cults that you couldn't even have a cup o' joe without bumping into one.

Yes, well... You... You're named after a chinese noodle!

Where you managed to get all those resources in such short amount of time? Considering that you've been around roughly same time as UN, so most SNs that have been around longer than both actually, so why sudden interest?

Trust me, considering that there are people willing to exploit our capabilities and sudden friendly interest is nothing but suspicious.

Who is the founder of RSA? Human, SN?

That is because we inspiration of the noodle. Duh. SNs are motivation and inspiration for human mythology, agriculture and couple other things.

Yes, yes, and the Outer Gods and Great Old Ones created all of you. Like that one manling said, they baked the biscuit of the universe, ate most of it, and left the crumbs to the rats. You're the rats.

Sidenote, this is pretty dead. Let's leave it for the next topic, rather than have two temporary namefags dick around for another 20 posts, muddling this shit's glory in the archives, da?

Well, first off, most supernatruals aren't that old. A lot of the big names are, but most of us only live as long as a human - shorter, in some cases (like the brownies and other small fairies). And it's been more than half a century - 60ish years since the SRA was formed. That's a long time to get cash, especially when you have backers among the supernatural community.

And read your history books, man. The SRA grew out of the UN's SRB after WW2, when supernaturals began fleeing various countries in the wake of the war ad the rising of the Curtain.

I don't really recall who the CEO (or whatever we have - nonprofit and all) is, I'm sorry to say. Like the namefag says, I'm just a clerk. I file things. He's a bit too far up the foodchain for me to pay attention to, and there's rarely any news about specific people so much as the organization itself, so it's not like the name hits the press that often.

Good idea. The thread's in autosage anyways. Archive it and let'er die?

Indeed. Shedding my namefaggery. Looks like it's already archived though. It's not totally up to date; does it automatically update, or does it have to manually be re-archived?

It archives from the moment its approved, rarely updated. Automatic n' all.
