    Chap 2 Pt 1: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/12385200/

You hear whispers all around you, the twins, Filigree, Fortran, and Chloe huddling close. Another set of lights flickered out.

As the lights went out you glanced an inky blackness slithering across the floor into the safety of the shadows. Without night vision and without lights, you'd be sitting ducks.

The twins look terrified and Fortran was barely able to support Chloe who looked about to pass out. Filigree was twitching and pacing nervously, taking two steps before turning back around.

Pyromancy would be really usefull right about now. But that is not going to happen, so lets see what we can do.

We're a biomancer, we can increase the sensitivity of our senses, in this case dark vision would be really usefull, and if i recall it is not a partcularly streneous use of biomancy so we should be able to do it with our almost tapped out ability.

Another possibility is that we get chloe to use the psychic power torch.
It is not associated with any discipline, it is a minor psycihc ability and a very low threshold one at that.
    If we combine this with us using the psychic ability Inspiring Aura, another low threshold minor psychic ability, then we should not only be able too see what we are doing, but we bolster everyones spirits. It also has a rather fun side effect. And I quote;
    >They may also feel compelled to say nice things about you. Which is nice.

A light on Fortran's shoulder flips up and Chloe takes a deep breath, murmuring a litany of strength.

You ask her to use torch. She complied instantly, raising her arms and calling forth light. The combination of psykic light and the flashlight were enough to touch the corners of the room. Covering the floor in several places was a swirling, writhing darkness. As the lights increased an angry chittering sound began filling the room, starting low and gradually rising in pitch.

Filigree squeaked softly, grabbing hold of your arm.

Fortran's light flickered and went out. Chloe's light began to fade. "Somethings draining my powers..."

Carol and Coral meep softly, moving behind the group and pushing you all forward. "No time to waste.""We must make a report.""The Exalted Marytr may know what's going on.""Either her or the Farseer."

Chloe concentrates harder, the light brightening a bit. "Not long..."

Fortran moved ahead, heading toward the next room. You were a ways from the stairs still and the next room seemed to have some light in it.

Filigree puffed out her cheeks and grabbed you, pulling you close. "I'm faster than you Quizzy. If there's trouble, I can pick you up and get out of there before the trouble knows what happened."

The twins followed directly behind, their phase swords glowing enough to provide some light.

Filigree pouts. "I'm not leaving you behind!" She began moving quickly, dragging you along, the others following suit. The others follow close behind, struggling to keep up.

A bit of the blackness dripped down onto your pauldron. Instantly, the metal hiss, angry smoke billowing form the contact point as the substance ate through your power armor.

You nearly made it to the door when you realized that the blackness had formed a wave behind you, the chittering hum from before rising to a wailing screech.

A loud crack echoed from somewhere off to the side, followed by a backlash of psykic energy that made the darkness shudder, the wave breaking early. It was the warp strider.

    "Do not tarry! Go!"

You make it through the doorway in time. Hissing and screeching can be heard behind you, the strider stumbling through, missing an arm and part of its face, burned away by the acidic blackness.

Your pauldron was almost gone now.

"Filigree! Can you grab the strider with the lash? If so, hurry!"

"Don't worry, I'd never allow you to die now." Focussing what little remains of our powers we boost our agility&strength to save somebody willing to give his life for us. We can't fail. Not now.
"Emperor, grant enough strenght to see this trough."
Begin reciting the litany of protection:
"Mighty Emperor, spread Your divine light to protect me from the darkness." Keep repeating that until we've carried the strider to safety.

Straight from lexicanum, so take it with a grain of salt:

Melta Weapons are heat-based weapons which work by sub-atomic agitation of the air. Targets on the receiving end are heated to the point of being vaporised. The effect on flesh is fearsome to say the least, while vehicles can be reduced to molten slag. Most melta weapons use highly pressurized pyrum-petrol gases with a two part injection system which forces the gases into a molecular state, which will vaporise just about anything. Unfortunately, due to the high power consumption and range dissipation, the weapon is only effective over very short distances, but anything caught in the blast is likely to be destroyed.

Although short-ranged and slow to fire, they are prized for their power against armoured vehicles. They are also considered a good alternative to plasma weapons, which are unreliable and capable of killing their user. Besides the roar of the explosive vaporising of the target's moisture, melta weapons themselves make little noise when firing. Given their fairly quiet and very effective nature, infiltrating parties make use of melta weapons to destroy enemy vehicles before they get a chance to fight on the battlefield.

Many races make use of the same basic technology. In the Imperium they are called meltas, and often referred to as 'fusion guns', 'melters', 'cookers' and 'vape guns'. Equivalent weapons used by other races have similar effects, although sometimes completely different technology and methods of operation. Both the Tau and Eldar use melta weapons, primarily for tank hunting like the Imperium.

You get the pauldron off before the substance gets to your skin. You move quickly to help the warp strider but she waves you off with her good arm, wet tendrils of muscle, bone and sinew already starting to slither out from her ragged flesh.

"Save your energy. If a single piece of me survives an attack I shall be whole again in a matter of minutes."

She looked at the door. The darkness had not bothered to pass through. She let her eyes drift around the room. The others hesitated before doing the same. The room was full of scrolls and ink and quills. It was where purity seals were made, as well as where litanies were recorded to distribute. Everything was written, not on paper, but upon vellum or specially made cloth to increase the longevity of the item. Despite this, much of what was had turned to dust. many of the wooden shelves had been bleached and were peeling. The scrolls were dry and cracked, There was no ink left. Everything was caked in a layer of bone-white dust, silent as if undisturbed for hundreds of years.

The warp strider's voice made you jump. "I think... we should move on... I will tell you what I know when we get higher up..."

"Avoid everything if you can..." She looked down at the layer of dust on the floor, taking a coin and tossing it into the middle of the room with similar results. "This... may be a problem..."

OP says that the strider can't carry us across but she can stretch across herself. What if we ask her to stretch across and maybe hold the tops of each doorframe or something. we could use her as a bridge or something depending on how stable it is. It melts an item, but you could melt a hole through the ceiling.
I am just nervous about having the twins use their swords, as this would require them to hang in the air and cut through.
Jetpacks really aren't designed to hover and allow that kind of precision. If they fall or swerve and hit the dust, they are dead.

It looked a bit shaken by the experience, quickly turning and moving up the stairs.

You hear a shout and faint bickering echo down, followed by several gunshots and more bickering. After a few minutes the strider walks slowly down the stairs again, the blade of a huge chainsword protruding out of its chest, several sisters in tow. Upon seeing you, Tessa sheepishly pulled it out, the Strider not batting an eye. "See? I'm going back up now." It turned and ascended the stairs.

"But this feels like chaos! Only foreign..."

"It also feels like we're being assimilated into the warp and not merely swallowed. I was sent back here to withdraw as many troops as possible. I wasn't able to escape in time though. The warp around this planet is surging."

Chloe gave you an incredulous look, her face very pale. You couldn't imagine how she felt. The world around you was beginning to make you feel very nauseous even without your psykic abilities active.

Esme gestured for you to follow. "There's something you need to see." She started up the stairs, your little group following close behind. "For some time I've been hearing whispers in the wind. A name, I think, though I haven't been able to discern it yet."

She arrived at the third floor. The sisters were praying and didn't seem to notice your arrival. The eldar did, however, and watched you from one corner. The banshees were there. They must have managed to get to safety before the ice, dust, and shadows arrived.

There were litanies and wards scrawled upon the floor, walls, and ceiling, using blood and whatever else they could find when they ran out of ink.

You let your eyes drift over the countless holy saying and runes before settling your gaze upon something that shouldn't belong. A massive runic symbol had been burned black into the far wall, melting the massive gold Aquila and covering many of the protective runes. It yellowed the stone around it, glowing with power.

"Also known as "The Outcast God", "The Lost God" and "The Renegade God", Malal embodies the self-destructive aspect of Chaos turned upon itself. Even following Malal is an act of self-destruction, for the relationship between follower and patron is parasitical - servitude draining the very soul of the devotee until it withers away. No no, Chesed wouldn't be the eighth god, he's the sixth (his name is hebrew for Six)
    and he's not the Emprah
He just draws on the soulcrushing conformity and tyranny of the Imperium as his power source
He wouldn't have religion, he would have a bunch of dudes dictating his will and expecting you to follow it. They would be like propaganda officers and demagouges, spouting litanies of obedience rather than enlightenment. His would be an empire of iron, steel and concrete, built on the foundations of the back breaking labour of billions, with officers and soldiers and aristocrats enjoying huge boons for their service.

Chesed is unlike the other gods in that he wants to impose his will on the entire Warp. He wants to control it, so he can control every psychic being. When Cheseds forces obey orders and work in tandem, even Khorne's armies can't stand against them, but when disobedience is rife, Chesed is foiled.

The strider frowned. "No... No they didn't... I was just told to deliver a message of evacuation. I brought it to the daemon princes and greater daemons on the planet. I have to say, convincing a khorne daemon to leave isn't easy." She paused. "Striders may be a result of slaanesh's creations, but many of us prefer being undivided. The great serpent is lazy and we grow easily bored."

She looked back up at the rune. "This does smell of chaos though. However, Chaos Gods are not created overnight. Especially those powerful enough to resist being assimilated by the others."

Rodwen stepped forward, speaking after a long moment. "It is written that there were many signs of chaos before She Who Thirsts destroyed my people. They were subtle but... The energy doesn't fade. It merely grew until it passed a threshold."

There seems to be the indications that these are warp based phenomena, mostly centering so far on what appears to be corruption, decay, and age.
The events so far including the appearance of this symbol seem to be related to the warp, and may be analogous to the birth of a chaos god.

The strider was about to answer but Filigree cut her off. "I GET IT NOW!" She grabbed your shirt, shaking you in excitement. "Huge warp activity spawns sleeping gods that feed! When they are born the big ones absorb them! There were thousands upon thousands spawned form the horus heresy alone! Even more from the fall of the Eldar! There aren't many left but all this warp activity might be waking one up! One that feeds on... something... there is a lot of... and is now... absorbing... this chunk......... Shit, we're boned..."

The strider shrugged. "Pretty much. Though I would assume the area this god lives in is faaaar from the realms of chaos where the real beasts of the warp live. It's going to take a while for it to fully awaken."

Filigree had slipped behind you, resting her chin on the pauldron you still had. "So Quizzy... Ermmm... Since we're all going to be completely obliterated..."

Nah, it's only one negative vote.
The system works like this (suptg is really slow for me so it might not be the exact same wording):

5 votes, all positve ---> This thread has a rating of 5 after 5 votes
    6 votes, 5 positive 1 negative ---> This thread has a rating of 4 after 6 votes
    7 votes, 6 positive 1 negative ---> This thread has a rating of 5 after 7 votes.

At least that was the case for all the threads I voted on.
    >> Anonymous 12/13/10(Mon)19:25 No.13141285
    >>13141170
Suptg's rating system is rather simple:

    x:= number of postive votes
    y:= number of negative votes
z:= total rating of a thread

The equation to calculate the rating of any thread on suptg is:

    x-y=z

The Pain Strider clapped you on the shoulder. "This is all very admerable of you inquisitor but really... how do you propose we stop the birth of a CHAOS GOD? It is taking this area of space and using it as a foundation of its realm in the immaterium. Everything on this world and all the surrounding worlds will belong to this new entity. We'll be its BITCH! I have a hard enough getting out of the palace NOT covered from head to toe in purple lipstick."

"Either that or we'll be dead." Galatea had somehow managed to sneak up on you. "As sisters we will not tolerate such an existence. We serve only the emperor and the golden throne of terra. If given the choice we would gladly die rather than fall to taint." She glanced at Caramel who was sitting a bit off from the other sisters. She looked okay now. They must have convinced her to let Esme heal her.

The Exalted Martyr walked up to the mark, examining it. "There may be a way to pry off this god's grip on the physical world... I... really don't know how. This huge surge of warp energy woke it up... We might be able to put it back to sleep."

Esme turns toward you, biting her lip. "No Inquisitor... I do not have a plan... The only way I can think of to prevent such a happening would be to dive into the warp and sever the psykic link. I'm sure we're not the only system under threat by this new chaos god. On top of that such an invasive method risks drawing its full attention."

She took a deep breath. "I... Don't think I can do it alone either. I have slain demons and heretics in the past, but this is an adversary that, regardless of my power, I cannot face without allies... And its going to be difficult, do not be deceived. This is a suicide mission, but if it means saving the people here and if it means saving Ophelia VII then I shall depart with pride."

Florencia had made her way over to the little group during Esme's speech. She removed her thunderhammer and kneeled before the exalted martyr. "I would be honored to go." Galatea joined her, "As would I." And Evangela. "And I..." Gradually the eavesdropping sisters began to trickle over, praying and offering themselves.

Esme smiled, bowing her head. "I do not with to risk stretching my power too thin to protect so many through the warp. I will have to think on it but... Three. I believe I can take three." The sisters didn't move waiting for her next words, though they were not addressed at them.

You are unconcerned with striking the final blow, content with knowing that what you did helped. You throw yourself in danger to save your allies. Your valor shines with the fury of a star. I would have been proud to call you my battle sister, regardless of your recent actions." She walked up to you, laying one hand on your unbroken pauldron. Immediately the armor began to bleach. "Which is why I need you to lead the troops here. You are the only one I trust to do so. Regardless of your past decisions, I would trust the resolve of no other to stand against the onslaught of chaos here."

You felt your headache dissolve, your psykic energy returning in a surge of power. The perils of the warp seemed distant. More distant than ever before. You fall to one knee.

"Thank you, inquisitor. May the blessings of the emperor shine like a beacon in your life and guide you to where you need to be."

Florencia and galatea were listed as waifus at one point. Though whther they count I am not sure.

Also, from a purely pragmatic point of view, if florencia goes with esme, not only do we get the twins away from her, but if delessa is the one who suggests it, florencia may end up liking us a bit more.

Anna, Varity, Tessa, Filigree, Pain Strider, Rowden, Banshee, Caramel, Galatea, Carol, Coral, Sonja, Elizabeth, Evangela, Fortran, Chloe, and Florencia.
Not sure if Galatea should be up there, she's more of a matronly figure then anything else, or if Florencia counts, possibly she's so TsunTsun for Delessa that she's looped round the side and come back as Dere?
All in all that's a grand total of 17 waifus
With Esme claiming 4: Tessa, Anna, Varity, and possibly Galatea
and Inquisitor Kravos claiming a grand total of fifteen, sharing Anna and Varity between the two

And then an "after" pic, which shows Florentia arguing with Rowdan and pointing accusingly at Filigree who is hiding behind Delessa and sticking her tongue out, while Carol and Coral are pushing away the advances of the painstrider, Chloe looking around for more clothing and covering herself as best as she can, and, well, basically, just a picture of how truly messed up Delessa's Harem is.

florencia is more tsun tsun for galatea really. Rodwen is very tsun tsun for delessa though.

Neither canoness is really a "waifu"

technically Evangela isn't either... yet... You'll really have to work for that one.

Don't worry though. this doesn't mean you dont have the potential to gain more waifus in the following chapters.

god... so many characters to develop... must... resist... cardboard... cutout... urge...

*note to self. Limit number of characters "on screen" at any given time*

also don't forget to have tybalt fixed

Just putting my votes up because I'm sure I'll miss the beginning of that thread.
    Tessa -> Waifu prime.
Florencia -> She needs to mellow. Best to get all that anger out of her system by smiting heretics.
Caramel -> I'm pretty sure she feels it's necessary for her to repent/redeem herself. What better chance than by saving Ophelia VII alongside the exalted martyr? Might as well get those silly thoughts of ending her life out of her mind.

We might bear in mind that anybody we send on this "three people to save the world" quest have a strong chance at not making it back.

I say this because >>13150488's argument for Carmel going makes too much sense.

Before we switch from Delessa to Esme, I have to know
"Esme, while you were in the warp, during the battle... this is rather silly, but, you didn't happen save any souls of sisters of battle bound to deamons, did you?"
Also, Anna, she still in a coma? Maybe Chloe can help her out

Writing this from memory, so things might be incorrect.

Sororitas Quest Chapter 1, Act 1:

The player character is Esme, young sister of battle on her first proper combat mission.
The mission is destined to fail from the beginning because chaos has managed to almost completely overrun the planet.
A Tzeentchian sorceror decides to unluck our hidden psychic potential for the lulz. We black out.
The remaining survivors managed to find us and brought us to their last redoubt. We meet the only other surviving sister of battle, Tessa. Unfortunately, she's been skull-fucked by Slaaneshi cultists and wants to end her life. We convince her otherwise.
Our only way to get off the planet alive is to send a message to the fleet in orbit. Of course, the only transmitter strong enough is located in an enemy fortress.
Tessa gets a cybernetical eye so she can help us fight, although she's still suicidal from all the things the cultists did to her.
We manage to survive all fighting to the fortress and sneak inside using our newly found psychic powers.
Tessa's cybernetic implant is starting to be rejected by her body and we manage to restore her biological eye through warp magic. Tessa is not happy about Esme being a witch but decides to do nothing for now.
Message is sent, everybody gets picked up by drop ships before the planet is exterminatus'd. We get a first glimpse of who we'll later know as Miriael Sabathiel.

    Chapter 1, Act 2:

After escaping the planet, we're back on the vessel of our order. We're being treated for our wounds by Sister Hospitaller (nurse) Verity. After a short chat, Canoness Galatea, leader of our order, wanders off to interrogate Tessa and check her for any signs of daemonic corruption.
Meanwhile we're off exploring the ship, looking if anybody needs our help.
Esme, Verity and the newly introduced Anna get locked in the engine section of the ship. After much silent hill-esque horror we discover that some kind of body snatching warp horror is using the communication devices built into various ear-pieces to take over portions of the crew.
We manage to survive and alert the crew. Tessa is found uncorrupted but the ship is damaged and we need to make repairs.

    Chapter 1, Act 3:
We decide to land on a planet to make the necessary repairs to our ship.
The locals are very friendly and set up a huge feast for the Emperor's warriors. The also stage a play/ritual where an innocent girl is offered to the daemons of the warp to save the world from future peril.
We intervene, saving the girl but causing a huge rip in the warp which begins spilling daemons into the materium.
We also get to have our first fight with Miriael Sabathiel.
Eventually, Esme follows the retreating Miriael into the warp to kick her ass properly, leaving the other sisters behind.

    Chapter 2, Act 1:

We've switched characters to inquisitor Delessa Kravos, sent on a mission to investigate the rumors about a so called Exalted Martyr. Supposedly a sister of battle granted miraculous powers by the Emperor himself.
We arrive to rendezvous with the ships of Esme's order and talk with Galatea, Tessa and Verity.
While Tessa and Verity are aboard our ship, an explosion occours and warp portals open all over the ship. Daemons almost immediately beginning to pour out. We manage to destroy the device generating the portals and capture a Daemonette, Filigree. We decide to bind her to us. I guess for the lulz.

    Chapter 2, Act 2:
After lots of chit-chatting we get a distress signal of a planet under attack from chaos. We fight lots of daemons and meet Carol&Coral (the twins), Elizabeth and Sophia and Canoness Florencia.
Esme returns and helps us fight the daemonic incursion. We manage to beat the daemons, destroy the device generating the warp portals and spend more time talking.
We also figure out what the forces are planning to do with those devices.

    Chapter 2, Act 4:
During transit to the Ophelia system we happen upon an Eldar craftworld under attack by energy leeching daemons. We manage to figure this out rather quickly and strike an alliance with the xenos. This is the first meeting with Farseer Rodwen.
Also: moar character building and talking.

    Chapter 2, Act 4:
The battle for Ophelia VII. I assume you've read that. Should be the last 4 or 5 threads. The new characters introduced in this act are Chloe the psyker, Fortran the ad-mech girl, Caramel and daemonically possesed sister of battle and the pain strider still lacking a name.
We also managed to acquire a banshee exarch waifu. Still without personality or name.

End of Chapter 2. <-------- Currently, we are here.

Fucking firefox just ate my reply detailling almost half the important characters in this quest. FUCK YOU FIREFOX!

    Esme:
Player character. Therefore she's whatever you decide her to be. So far she's been a devout and pious subject of the Emperor although she's extraordinarily understanding and reasonable for a potential imerial saint. Has incredibly psychic powers unlocked by Tzeentch for the lulz although this has pretty much back-fired on him. Incredibly protective of those she holds dear.

    Delessa:
Player character. Therefore she's whatever you decide her to be. Until now she's been unorthodox at least although always maintaining her faith in the emperor. Enjoys trolling Filigree.

    Tessa:
Sister of battle defiled by Slaaneshi cultists. Saved by Esme. Very strongly fixiated on Esme.

    Verity:
Sister hospitaller (nurse). Hasn't really been doing anything except keeping other people from dying. Likes both Esme (verified) and Delesse (speculation).

    Anna:
Sister of battle saved by Esme from warp horrors in Chapter 1, although Anna took some damage. Dislikes Delessa because of Filigree. Currently a vegetable because we barely managed the roll to have her survive the confrontation with Miriael.
    >> Anonymous 12/14/10(Tue)17:36 No.13152438
    >>13152434

    Carol&Coral:
The twins. Seraphim (Sister of battle with jetpacks). Share a secret psychic link allowing them to act as one. Like Delessa despite knowing Filigree's true nature.

    Elizabeth and Sophia:
Sisters of battle. Haven't received a lot of characterisation until now. Friendly towards Delessa despite knowing about Filigree.

    Filigree:
Daemonette of Slaanesh. Formed out of curiosity. Bound to us by some ritual. Likes us. A lot.

    Canoness Galatea:
Reasonable Canoness. Has some kind of history with Florencia.

    Canoness Florencia:
Burn&purge for the Emperor style canoness. Dislikes Delessa because of HERESY!

    Farseer Rodwen:
Eldar Farseer. Has a love-hate relationship with Delessa.

    Pain strider:
Unaligned chaos daemon. Of unknown disposition towards Delessa.
