RULES OF QUEST: Zeal and awesome affect your rolls. You're going to need a lot of both.

It is recommended the archive is read but it is not necessary.

    Chap 2 Pt 1: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/12385200/

You pull your hand back from Inquisitor Delessa Kravos, giving her a gentle nod. Her armor, what was left of it, had been bleached by your divine aura, the wraithbone changing to a mother-of-pearl white rather than the silver of conventional powerarmor.

You turned your gaze around the room. So many loyal faces, all willing to die for this cause. You turn your focus inward. Three at the most... The fewer you took with you the better you'd be able to protect them.

You risk a glance around. The sealing runes and litanies would only keep the darkness at bay for so long... It might be wise to leave a small piece of your power behind to buy everyone more time. Obviously, this would weaken you.
    >> Anonymous 12/17/10(Fri)19:14 No.13193771
Okay, of course we leave behind some of our power to help Delessa and the others protect themselves
So, do we have that list of people advantages and disadvantages?

huzzah a person. I am working on those lists. but for now, you have a force weapon but is there another one you want to take? Maybe a more powerful melee weapon for bigger enemies or some form of ranged weapon.

ok... Esme flies around with a force blade and glowing with white fire, right? She's like... Channeling the emperor's power or something, right?

Shouldn't she use a powerclaw? Like the emperor? If we're awesome enough we could probably just throw bolts of smiting or something.

Also, it's good to see this quest back.

Voting florencia for retinue, on the grounds that we should probably seperate her and delessa.
Even if they don't try and kill each other, florencia is unlikely to react well to delessa being the one in charge of the defense.

Another quick point that I forgot, I seem to recall that we wanted to try and get florencia away from the twins.
If we are still atempting operation waifupocalypse with delessa, this is likely to be one of the last opportunities we will get to do this.

Why not a lightning claw and a ranged weapon.
The force sword can be sheathed, after all.
    >> His Divine Wrath 12/17/10(Fri)23:09 No.13196373
you get to pick one more weapon. dont want to weigh her down too much. She can swing the sword in one hand and, while powerful, it doesn't have the punch of a claw.

you have no ranged weapon but those you pick for your party may have ranged weapons so you can take one or rely on your allies and while a ranged weapon (especially delessa's psybolts) would be devastating, its less reliable since the warp can get kinda fucky.

finishing up some prep for the quest and then i have to run several errands -_- but by god I will get this quest running again TONIGHT!

    Huzzah!
Hrmm, well I suppose it all comes down to what our allies are equipped with.
I think that, considering the fact that most of our people are Melee, we should go Ranged, if only to balance it out
For a ranged weapon, I'd recommend inferno pistol- you can't go wrong with melta weapons

    >you can't go wrong with melta weapons
    Depends on the foes.
If we find ourselves bogged down in a protracted ranged battle, a melta pistol, with it's short range, won't help us.
I say plasma pistol. Good range, good punch, and Tha Emprah don't allow no fuckin overheat bullshit.
    >> αlpharius 12/18/10(Sat)00:11 No.13197126
    >>13196758
    I disagree.
As OP pointed out, whilst powerfull, the force sword is not as powerfull as a lightning claw.
We are most deadly in close combat from what I understand, and ranged weapons will be temperamental in the warp.
As such, I think that we should stick with what we do best and take the lightning claw.
We ahve three slots available. We can afford to spend at least one of them on a ranged character.
    >> Anonymous 12/18/10(Sat)01:46 No.13198149
well, if we decide on a power claw, we can grab the one that Filligree's not using.
What else does Florentia have besides her hammer? we could always hand her an inferno pistol or something.
who else are we going to take?

We could potentially take galatea as well, as she is rather competent.
However, this would mean that delessa would be commanding the sisters without a cannonness to back up her authority.

Verity does not seem like a wise choice, as she is not very combat foccussed, and in an incursion into the warp, we can ill afford dead weight.
Tessa may be a good choice, I cannot remember off the top of my head what she specialises in however.
As for a third? I am really not sure.

Taking Florencia over Galatea would have several advantages:
    - Galatea remains on planet to support Delessa.
    - We remove the twins from her influence.
    - She might mellow a bit from being with Esme.
    - Her preferences in weaponry are very close to Galateas.
    >> αlpharius 12/18/10(Sat)02:07 No.13198405
    >>13198348
She also has the bonus of having a history with esme and being devoted to her.

I agree with sending florencia, I was postulating on the merits of sending galattea as well.
To be homnest however, the visible benefits do not seem worthwhile given the trouble it would cause dellessa.

Untill we get a list of bonuses and drawbacks however, most of this is moot.

Remember though. These characters can also affect other things depending on how you use them. You are not required to take 3. The power you extend to them to protect them will be stronger with fewer but you want to get as many as possible to keep a variety of skills.

    Characters

Tessa: Fiercely loyal and unafraid of death, Tessa will do all she can to protect you. You find her presence inspiring. You'd be very worried if she was hurt, however, and your combat would suffer. Her evicerator chainsword is loud and can attract lots of attention.

Verity: She can deal with a couple small enemies at most but is of almost no help against larger ones. She only carries a stubber(i think) and her power armor is not as good as the other sisters. she can treat injuries, however, so you don't have to waste energy healing minor ones.

Anna: Not an option because she's a vegetable. :'(

Galatea: Punches bloodthirsters. She knows no fear. She has slowed a bit in her old age but her tactics are unsurpassed. She can spot an enemy's weak point fairly quickly. She's been your Canoness for as long as you can remember. You strive to better yourself in combat when she's around but this makes your failures all the more bitter. (changes where the degrees of success and failure are placed)

Florencia: Scarier than Galatea. Her fury distracts her from the world around her, letting her ignore some injuries, but also making her a bit reckless. She is quick to judge and even quicker to smite. With a huge amount of jump pack and zero-G experience, she is far more mobile than the others. She can upset the other party members however, especially Filigree and the Pain Strider.
    >> His Divine Wrath 12/18/10(Sat)14:10 No.13203849
    >>13203835

Sonja: Accuracy over brute force, Sonja and sniper rifles go hand in hand. A very calm and tactical thinker, she will be able to read the ebb and flow of the warp more easily than the others, protecting her shots from much of the warp fuckery. While she does inflict enormous damage, she is very vulnerable while shooting and has no crowd control abilities.

Elizabeth: Fire! Fire everywhere! this psychotic sister prefers her enemies blackened. Bombastic and obsessed, she will cover everything in promethium, including allies who get too close. Tactical placement can prevent this, but her twitchy personality can lead her to misinterpret a threat, or charge into a trap. Annihilates crowds completely and utterly.

Twins: both must be taken. The twins are efficient and deadly, they work off each other with skill, speed, and precision unmatched by any single entity and are quite skilled with their jump packs. The injury or death of one will most likely make the other useless.

Rodwen: As much as she hates humans, she hates chaos ten-fold. Her psykic support could turn the tide of battle in your favor. She holds no loyalty to you, but will save you if she must. This, however, does not extend to your allies.

Filigree: quick and cunning her speed will surpass a lot of what you fight. Her daemonic nature will give you an edge and may help with navigation. Her lack of armor may get her killed, and "Quizzy" would never forgive you for that. You must suppress your divine aura or risk burning her.

Pain Strider: Knows the warp better than Filigree. Her daemonic nature and knowledge is guaranteed to help with navigation. She is poor in combat and can't use weapons, however, it is very hard to kill her. You must suppress your divine aura or risk burning her.

    Did I forget anyone?

Chloe: You will need to provide her with an extra layer of your divine aura to keep the warp from her mind, but her skills of detection are unsurpassed, even by the farseer. She can spot danger or a trap a mile away. (the sisters would probably also be willing to give her some armor)

Fortran: While not much in combat, she was trained to deal with xeno and warp tech as well as ancient tech. She can easily hack or destroy any machines encountered provided you can keep her out of combat.

(there will be several places where you'll have the option to switch someone out if they are hurt or something. I can do this because the warp is fucky like that and because this chapter is really really hard)

Evangela: A living saint, you'd need to provide little divine protection to keep the warp away from her. Skilled and fairly quick, she has both a close combat weapon and a standard flamer. (the equivalent of) Enemies can spot her enormous shimmering wings from a mile away compromising most stealth tactics at your disposal.

Caramel: Those who are deceived by her name are in for a rude surprise. Fierce in combat, her power sword and sonic pistol can tear through enemies like tissue paper. Her jump pack is several times more powerful than the sisters, making her the ideal scout. She is stubborn and if a situation arises where one person may be killed, she will jump at the chance before anyone else has a chance to volunteer. The demon's seal inside her isn't perfect. extremely strong warp energies may awaken it, causing you further problems.

it depends on where you are in the warp. The realms of chaos are raw emotions but the rest of the warp is a sea of unstable, undulating energy. You know nothing about this chaos god. and he's far from the realms of chaos.

Also, the chaos god will not know about you specifically until it wakes up more. The more you disturb, the faster it will wake up. Some stealth is a good idea, at least at first.

    >>13204152

It would take awhile but she may become available later if you have the available psykers (rodwen, warlocks, chloe, delessa, filigree) work on her while you fight.

Cant maintain inquisitor stasis field if you do that though. and it may compromise defense of the building.

I guess Delessa could hold the inquisitor in a stasis field too.

"Sonja, Caramel, and the Pain Strider. Please step forward. My dear sisters and...ally, I must ask you to take a terrible risk. Will you join me in finding this foul beast in the warp?"
As the two sisters step forward, I gently touch their pauldrons and bestow my blessing. To the Pain Strider, I just give a nod.
I look longingly to Tessa, and say "I want nothing more than to take you with me, but I would not be able to focus on the mission, and I need you to bolster the faith of our remaining sisters. I will come back for you."
*I believe a small gesture of love is in order here for our poor waifu*
Finally, I turn to Delessa. "I have replenished your powers, though I am afraid that I must ask you to drain them once more. Please heal the inquisitor lord, he is a powerful ally, and may prove crucial in the coming darkness."

“Sisters! Today we try the impossible. It has never been attempted before to prevent the birth of a new god of chaos. For all I know, nobody even had the chance before! So rejoice in the knowledge that the Emperor has granted us the chance to prove our worth to the whole universe! Praise Him that He has judged us worthy to be given this chance! Praise Him for giving us the means to avert this disaster!”
“In but a few short moments we will prepare for the first step in preventing another age of strife. I know all of you are more than willing to see this mission through. In all your faces I can see the desire to lay down your lives to save this holy world in the name of the Emperor. But we still need to think tactically. We have little idea what awaits us in the warp during these perilous times. I can sadly take only three of you with me, so I will choose those most suited for scouting unknown and dangerous terrain.”

Move towards Sister Sonja. Lay our hands on both her pauldrons.
“Sister Sonja! You have gained renown for using the swift mind the Emperor bestowed upon you to analyse the flow of battle. Like the Emperor's fist you smash the enemy's weakest link to make the whole crumble. It would be an honour for me to have you to be part of our first sortie into the warp.”

Move on to Sister Caramel. Strip the heraldry of chaos from her armour. Carefully place our hands where those icons have been. (It would be very nice if we could bleach an Imperial eagle into her armour. If possible in those places where the signs of chaos have been.
“Caramel! You have proven beyond a doubt the faith of each sister of the Adeptus Sororitas. I am awed by your devotion to serve after everything that has happened to you. On holy Terra the Emperor has endured for ten millennia. Today, you have proven that His sacrifice has inspired you beyond the will of a mere subject of His. Like him, you endure for the survival of man. Cast off your doubts. See that the Emperor has blessed you, by granting you the willpower to resister where anybody else would have fallen. Do not squander the second chance bestowed upon you.
Caramel, I would be more than honoured to call you my Sister of Battle. Do you accept?”

Continue to our last companion. The pain strider. We should turn down our aura before getting close to her. (She should really get a name).
“I do not know your name. You do not serve the Emperor. Yet you wish to prevent what is to come as much as we do.
You haven't hurt any of sisters – that is why you still live.
You have saved innocents from being devoured by chaos – that is why you amongst us.
We need a guide to navigate through the warp and warn us of any possible treacheries and hidden dangers created by the sleeping god. Although your motivation isn't ours, we strive for the same goal. I won't call you my sister but I would be honoured to call you my comrade in arms.”

A few more minutes around here won't make or break our mission.
We should continue to walk around the crowd, and place our hands on their weapon (if they don't malfunction from it) and one of their pauldrons. Marking them as a sister who fought and survived at least the original invasion of Ophelia VII.
“Even if you don't accompany me into the warp, know that this place must be held. You must stay alive as your faith in Him is the only thing holding the darkness beneath us at bay. I will return as the situation permits to grant my companions rest and regain my strength.”

    When we reach Delessa:
“Inquisitor, I must once again ask you for a favour. Lord Inquisitor Alexander Littner won't survive the daemonic wound inflicted upon him much longer. It will force you to use almost all of your power but I think, no – I KNOW – that his survival is of essence to our own.”
Nod towards her and as she turns place a hand on her shoulder.
“And grant yourself some rest afterwards. You're no use to the Emperor if you are to tired to think.”
    Smile.
“Say, do you have Eldar soul stones on your person? There's some kind of psychic energy around you I can't put my finger on.”

Call the Farseer, the warlock council and Chloe to us.
“You know that sister Anna's mind has been mauled by the forces of chaos. A single psyker, except of such powers as our Immortal Emperor or, for you xenoi, your own ancient guide Eldrad Ulthran , is unable to heal her. Farseer, I would ask you to have your warlocks work together with Chloe on helping Anna. Although a potent psyker herself, she lacks the refinement only centuries of rigid training and discipline can bring forth. In addition to this I require you to watch over this last redoubt while the other psykers are either spent or distracted by their work.”
Take the Farseer aside as the others are moving to begin their duties.
“I know our people very often don't see eye to eye. I think it's an insult to most of our respective kind to even imply that such a thing might be possible.” Stop for a moment, show her that this is hard for you. “Just once, I'd like to thank you for the aide you rendered. So just this once, let the ignorant children thank you.” Nod towards Delessa. “I think she has something for you. It is not much but all we could do in this situation to show our gratitude.”

Now that almost everything we could do to prepare is done, we pick up the claw Filigree dropped.
We inspect it a bit. Considering the incredible actions this claw has witnessed within the last few days we check if any of Filigrees nature has begun to warp it. If so, we try to combine the effects of her mostly benign daemonic corruption with our holy aura, forging a kind of weapon never seen before. (Please?)

Checking our equipment we decide to pay respects to the only surviving member of the machine cult.
“Your name is Fortran, right? Remember, you are probably the only surviving member of the Adeptus Mechanicus on this planet. I know the Ecclisiarchy and the priesthood of Mars often have their difficulties but let me tell you, I am very glad you managed to survive.”
Place a hand on an armoured part of her. Yes, even the tech priest gets bleached.
“I know at least a Sollex blade and a cyber mastiff need emergency repairs. I'm sure there are other machine spirits in need around here as well. However, before you begin your work and I descend into the warp.... Fortran, would you be so kind and bless the weaponry and armour of my companions and myself together with me?”

Move towards where we want to open a portal into the warp. Bid the Canonesses over.
“Canoness Galatea, Canoness Florencia. The first part of the mission before me requires stealth and trickery. Your devotion to the Emperor is a flawless as anybody's in these halls, your righteous fury does however surpass that of almost every sister, only two others coming close to yours. Your faith would shine like a beacon in the immaterium, attracting the unconscious attention of the sleeping god, hastening his rise.”
Instead of touching their pauldrons we touch the armour over their hearts.
”Both of you are unyielding pillars of faith. You have guided your sisters through the darkness for decades – employing different methods but never faltering in your devotion to Him. Allow me and the other sisters to bask in the light of your faith one last time. Please, grant us what could be the last selfish indulgence in our lives before we rest in His arms.”
Take our hands off their armour and drop to our knee.
“Would you be willing to lead us in prayer before we depart?”

At your touch Sonja seems to glow faintly, the imperfections on her armor dissolving, the damage repairing itself. The paint on the pauldron you touched cracked and flaked off, leaving the fleur de lys bright against a silver backing. She sank to one knee, bowing her head, unable to meet your gaze. "The honor is mine... Exalted Martyr..."

Sister Caramel fell to her knees before you got to her, trembling. She flinched as you placed your hands on her, smoke rising from the simple contact. Her armor seemed to waver in reality as your presence combated its corrupt nature. "This is more than I could have ever asked for. I will not let us fail!"

Her skin was burned when you took your hand away, the palm of your glove burned into her armor on the opposite side. She didn't seem phased by it though, standing quickly and preping her weapons

The pain strider looked away from you, scowling a little. She relaxed a fraction when you turned down your aura. "Eden... My name is Eden." She sighed. "Fine... The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I will help you. You need me to breach into the warp in the first place anyway."

You nod to her and begin moving around the room, laying one hand on the right pauldron of each sister, the paint cracking and chipping off. You left their weapons glowing with power.

Even Evangela kneeled before you, her own divine aura growing in power at your touch.

Finally you arrived at Tessa who was doing her best not to look disappointed. She cut you off before you could speak, giving you a tight hug. "I swear... If you don't come back I'll..." You pull back and silence her with a smile, her pauldrons, the backs of her gauntlets and her shin guards bleached by your embrace. You channeled you power into her chain sword, the teeth heating until they glowed white-blue. "Stay safe." you kiss her on the forehead.

You look for Delessa but she is already working to heal Alexander, Filigree kneeling by her side, talking away, disrupting her concentration.

You walk up to Chloe and gently lead her over to the farseer, several of her anti-perils implants humming to life from the sudden power surge your touch created, though it was unnecessary. You gesture over to Anna, explaining the situation. Chloe runs over right away, still awed from your touch. The farseer seemed more hesitant, finally sighing and joining Chloe, the warlocks in tow.

You gaze around, walking up to the lightning claws dropped by filigree. You picked them up, examining them. The daemonette in question looked up, trotting over timidly. "Delessa gave me those." Your aura didn't seem to bother her too much. Probably because her daemonic nature was so well sealed. She pointed to the alter. "There's a few relic weapons behind there. I found them when I was looking for food."

You hand her her weapons back and climb the alter. Looking around, you find several weapons in disrepair, including a very unique looking power claw. You select this, attaching the components over your left gauntlet, the weapon bleaching itself, the mechanical components inside humming to life.

Fortran was almost instantly at your side, opening the weapon, pulling out a soldering iron. She got to work, barely flinching as your touch purified and cleaned her mechanical components. "I would be honored to work on such a rare and valuable weapon. Provided someone is willing to get the broken pieces out of the daemonette's hand." She shut your power claw, nodding in satisfaction before heading toward Filigree.

Both Canonesses fell to their knees as you approached. It felt a little backwards having the person who had been your mentor and parental figure for so long fall to worship at your presence. You kneel down in front of them, touching the armor over their hearts. The paint on both their pauldrons and down around their collar bone is removed, their armor repairing and shining like new.

At your request, both women glanced at each other, slowly rising to their feet. The spoke quietly for a few moments before deciding on simply reciting the Fede Imperialis. It took moments to gather all the sisters, the ancient words shaking the very foundations of the building. The darkness felt further when the prayer had finished, strengthening the resolve of those present, save Eden and Filigree of course.

Eden bows her head and wraps her arms around you, sonja, and Caramel, her joints popping as they stretched. "This will feel weird. I ask that you do not struggle."

You are overwhelmed with a sense of vertigo as you are pulled into the warp.

When your senses settled, you looked around. Yellow lightning arced across the sky, chunks of scorched and bleeding earth drifting through the endless void of lurching colors. There was the howling of wind all around you, though you felt no breeze. Beneath the sound of the maelstrom you could hear the sounds of spoken words. Chanting in the language of chaos.

The ground beneath your feet was shiny like obsidian, strange red plants sprouting from cracks. off in the distance you could see a looming black mass, neither fluid nor gaseous, slowly drifting toward you.

Sonja and Caramel climb to their feet next to you, glowing with your protective aura. The pain strider was already scouting out the area. "We need to drift from one mass of rock to the next and use them for cover. There are a lot of daemons scattered around. You should kill them now before they can cause trouble."

Ask Eden if she has any idea of what we might run into.
Ask Caramel if she can reach the closest rock mass. If she can, then have her check to see if it is secure while sonja covers her. If there are demons, then we can move in to support her.
If she cant then we go ourselves, while sonja covers us
we should kill any of the weaker demons we come across, but avoid engaging the larger ones unless we can kill it quickly.

First thing we have to do is making sure that everyone was able to make the jump into the warp without any complications.
“Sonja, Caramel. Are you feeling well?”

    Responding to the Eden:
“Do you think killing them wouldn't hasten the sleeping gods awakening? I would prefer to avoid doing anything that could upset the warp's balance in this area. By the way, where should we go anyway?”

Considering the idea of having to drift from one rock to another:
“Caramel, could we hang on to you as you use your jetpack? I dislike the idea of slowly drifting from one of these platforms to another.”

Eden shook her head, gesturing to the plants. "Rule of thumb. If you don't know what it is, stay away from it, though I'd imagine that if they were the tentacles of a rock-dwelling monster that Esme's aura would have burnt it to a crisp by now."

She went prone, looking over the edge of the rock. "These daemons... I ran across a few when I tried to return to the palace. They're like hives. If they detect a threat they scream and swarms of... Something crawl out of that honeycombed skin of theirs. I'm fairly certain the stings are meant to kill but seeing as I'm rather durable and the fact that it didn't hurt nearly as bad as one of Slaanesh's games on a bad day I managed to get away pretty easily. They don't have eyes but rather detect vibratory patterns in the warp. Like speech and footsteps. We can get by them if we're real quiet but I wouldn't suggest trying. A gunshot most likely wont set them off provided your far enough away. There's a lot of thunder in this area..."

You glance around and spot one drifting lazily some distance away. It was very squat and fat with enormous, three fingered arms and stubby legs. On the end of each finger was a scythe like talon. It had no visible eyes or ears. Only a vertical slit mouth filled with rows and rows of jagged irregular teeth. Of course it was full of holes, small creatures drifting lazily around it. It hopped forward on its knuckles, doing a handstand and pushing off into space, landing on another chunk of land, hobbling and hopping around comically.

Caramel shook her head when you asked about her jetpack. "It would destabilize me far too much."

The pain strider glanced at you. "While the Realms of Chaos have set rules, and I use the term loosely, of gravity and inertia, the areas of the warp outside such realms are very different. Thought and action propel you..." She let her voice fade upon seeing Sonja and Caramel's lost expressions. "Kick off hard and focus your mind on where you want to go... Its body was egg shaped and it seemed to lack any form of arms, though it did have a pair of muscular legs. your blade bites into the creature's armored leg, but it doesn't turn its attention to you until you grab it with your powerclaw. The bone cracks in your grip and the creature screams again, rolling off Caramel. It hobbles back a bit, its body swelling as it spit a bowling-ball sized glob of sticky ooze at you. You avoid it with ease, the goop splattering on the ground behind you, hissing loudly. Within a minute of it landing the substance had eaten away a frightening amount of rock, boring a deep hole.

Caramel crept from her place, using several different angles to hit some hive daemons that were further away. She hadn't missed a shot so far, then again the warp was very calm here.

You rush to Caramel's side, but she snatches her hand back, standing quickly. Her forearm has a large irregular burn mark on it from the acid. "I am fine... Do not waste your energy. It is not a wound that will compromise my fighting ability." She paused. "I have had a lot worse." She tapped the mark of slaanesh on her belt buckle. "Really. Do not worry about it. It was more of a shocked reaction than one of pain."

Eden clears her throat loudly. "If your done we should probably get moving. we need to reach that cloud before it gets to this location or it will consume everything."

    As she's probably going to object again;
"I really dislike saying this, but are you forgetting who around here is the Emperor's will made manifest?"

We lay our hands on Caramel's wound, careful not to cause any further harm to her by our powers.
"See? Was it really that bad?"

"Don't try and act tough, I need you working at one hundred percent. This is a hostile environment, and I can't let you have a huge wound that could be used against you." I say firmly.
"I will wait until we get into that cloud to ask again, alright?" I ask a bit more gently.

Caramel hesitates before letting you heal her, her eyes cast downward. "Yes... I'm sorry exalted martyr..."

Caramel fired one final shot, reloading and holstering her Rifle. There were no more hive daemons in sight.

Eden walked over to you, gesturing to the cloud. "It is a manifestation of the god's raw power. It has not taken shape yet, but its heading toward the weakened barrier between this area and Ophelia 7. We have to divert it or stop it or it will absorb and assimilate the entire system. The planets will become a part of the god's realm." She looked at the cloud. "Once we pierce it, we'll be in the beginnings of its realm. There's no telling what to expect."

    Late night, OP?
Well, I think jumping back now, or possibly shortly after entering the realm and doing some recon, would be a good idea.
We could get Caramel a blade, hopefully the Sollex if it has been fixed.
Depending on the resistance we would face, we would also want to trade out Sonja for Florencia. Got to give Delessa a chance to work her waifu magic on the twins, after all.

I'd say this might be a good idea to try that idea of creating a weapon with our powers.
Caramel really needs a cc-weapon. If this doesn't work or might take too long, we might also consider dropping back into the materium and grabbing a weapon there. Maybe Fortran has already repaired the sollex blade.

I'll try to get our two replies in the form preferred by OP.

Finally able to scan our environment without any interference by daemonic forces we notice that Caramel will probably be severely hampered in her ability to fight without a close combat weapon. We know that, if we decide to return to the materium to get a new weapon, it will probably weaken the border between the realms even further.

Considering what Eden said about creating a weapon by pure will, we decide to give it a try. It should work the same way flying around here does and so we begin concentrating on what we consider an ideal weapon for Caramel. We focus on our desire to protect her from harm during this journey even if she thinks herself expendable. We beg the Emperor in prayer to give our selfish desires to protect a fellow warrior, who has sacrificed so incredibly much fighting for Him, form. Repeating every hymn, litany and prayer to the Emperor we continue begging him to show our sister in battle that the Emperor still considers her one of his daughters by granting our request.

We briefly think about returning to Ophelia VII but decide to keep pressing on, at least until we know what is inside that menacing cloud – that ominous shadow drifting so leisurely towards our position.
“Eden, should we take the direct route towards the realm of the new god? Or could there be another way in that might offer us any advantage?”
Offering our hands to Sonja and Caramel we prepare to depart towards the unknown.
“I think we'll be faster if you simply hang on to me. Don't worry, if we'll stay close to each other we'll manage to get through this.” Giving a playful smile to our daemonic ally we remark:” Eden, I guess you don't need training wheels while navigating around here?”

As your powers and the warp around you begins to stir you feel a tap on your pauldron. "What are you doing...? Sister... NO!" Eden grabbed your hand, disrupting your concentration. "I told you not to for a REASON." She was keeping her voice low, pulling everyone down into a prone position. "The amount of power it takes to create something in this realm is staggering. Using your own power will drain yo dry, and using the warp's power will turn you into a lighthouse, which is what just happened. There's no hiding from those hive daemons now, no matter how quiet we are..."

Sonja checked her pack. "I've got 4 clips left. 40 bullets."

Eden scoffed. "Right. Because there are less than 40 daemons who will be attacking us... Chaos if you wanted a weapon you could have just told me! I can teleport back in an instant!"

Feathered, furred, chitinous, and scaled, the descended like locusts. They would be here in less than a minute. They wern't especially huge or powerful. Only numerous.

Caramel slid up next to you. "These creatures... I do not think these are of this new chaos god. The hive daemons maybe but... These, to me, look like scavengers." She pulled out her sonic pistol. "Heh... For once, it pleases me to have this. Such a weapon will tear through these creatures like butter."

You gave a quick command to Caramel and she took off, her jump pack firing. She launched herself toward the acid daemon, kicking it hard before taking off into the air toward the others. She fired her sonic pistol several times, the smaller enemies exploding and bleeding from the intense noise and vibrations.

The acid daemon looked up, lobbing globs of acid at her. Several of the daemons seemed immune to it, but a great number of them fell.

Quite a few of them managed to land though, including several hive daemons. The scavengers snapped at each other as they advanced before being driven off by the the lumbering, bumpy monstrosities and their seemingly endless swarms of biting, stinging creatures.

With a loud crack, Eden appeared nearby, a grinning Elizabeth and heavy flamer wrappped in her arms.

She flicked the pilot light on with her thumb, Eden backing off quickly.

"It's time to KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!"

Like a fire hydrant being opened, the flames gushed forth from the oversized weapon obliterating the swarms with frightening ease.

"AHAHAHA!!! BURN!!! BURN YOU HERETICS!!! SUFFER NOT THE DAEMON TO LIVE!!!" You weren't sure if it was the fire or her mad cackling that gave the daemons pause.
