Excalibur, Durandal, Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, Lance of Longinus, Genghis Khan's Sword off the top of my head. There are a shit-ton.

Longinus, a.k.a. The Spear of Destiny, for starters, the spear/lance that pierced the side side of Christ during his crucifixion. It usually follows some plot that whoever wields it/their army will be unstoppable in battle. There's also myth, (fact?), that the Nazi party was searching for many Biblical artifacts, including Longinus, for this reason.

Masamune and Muramasa katanas.

The story behind muramasa katana's is particularly interesting.

Muramasa was just a swordmaker (and he lived in an entirely different time-period from masamune, so he wasn't his pupil or anything like many legends claim), but he made a lot of swords for a particular army... and it just so happens that whenever that army took to the field against another specific army, they butchered them completely.

It was said that his swords were the bane of that house, that he was either a demon who infused his swords with bloodlust and hatred directed at that house, or he had found a demonic benefactor who did the same thing.

On the subject of legendary artifacts, there were a lot of them owned by Alexander the Great that the Romans went all crazy to get. His cloak, his armor, etc.

They were so Alexander-crazy that they ended up actually destroying most artifacts related to him. It would be hilarious if it weren't so horrifying.

Last I checked, the Lance of Longinus (the one with the gold sheath) actually had a piece of foreign metal embedded in the very center underneath a bronze, silver, and gold sheath. Basically the spear itself is not the spear, but the piece of metal embedded in it is MUCH older, and may have been the spearhead or one of the nails.

There was a big x-ray study done on it a few years ago.
