Right, last thread (which was also part 7, how odd) the Industrial convoy was only 1.5 weeks away. Is Roarke still thinking we are a traitor, or has he calmed down a bit? Shooting random people aside, that is.

Oh, and it is GREAT to see this again.

    Lets get some more Dynamite.

I believe we were saving RP for the Male Steam Tank, right? I don't want any more mercs, as they can't be trusted, but we can't get rifles from the Industrial Convoy, right? Lets get 40-60 more workers if we can.

Alright, so far the wishlist is yet more dynamite and more workers. Be careful captain, last game we approved immigration so the royal shipment will be full of whiney worky settlers, we dont want overpopulation. 1.3 weeks to convoy. you have 18 rp, and if Roarke lives for another 1.8 weeks you will get have 23...enough for a steamtank (male).

Extra ammo for the Gatlings and Maxims. On the off chance they can provide it, a scouting balloon.

How will immigration work? Will we be expected to build and provide housing? At the least, we should try to get the new arrivals within the radius of our patrols; we don't want then to come under attack from natives.

I believe we should get a start on scouting the second level. We have some time before the first is cleared, but this way there won't be any dead time.

I'm all for sending Riker on a mission of utmost, if suicidal, importance. We could use some solid numbers and disposition of the french and natives. Steam tank be damned if he dies, personally, but He might come back with an ace.

Lastly, I believe you changed the dimensions of our land to about 20 acres because some people called bull on all this stuff fitting in such a small area. OP, I'd like to join this quest, but you have to slow yourself down. Whenever you're going to post, wait a few more minutes to check for other players adding their own insight. I've watched these threads since they started, and that seems to be your biggest gaff, though you do seem to be getting better.

But honestly, be a bit more patient, and give some extra time between your posts. And check what other people have posted before you post. Refreshing won't remove what you've typed, it will still be there, and it will allow you to see posts that have been added since you started typing.

The French are Bad People. The Death Tribe was dealt a severe blow, but the survivors have hooked up with some French deserters and are now working together. The main French force has the strength of the French Foreign Legion with them (Like Royal Grenadiers for the French), and they seem to have a fair abundance of grenades. There has also been a small amount of contact with the Americans, but so far we are leaning towards not forming an alliance with them. There are also Snake Tribesmen in the Lost City.

I must protest, my good sir- is it so honorable that these savages fall upon us in the dark of the night, attacking our defenseless workers, and do not listen to so much as a sliver of our enlightened diplomacy? These are savages, my good sirs, simply savages- and who knows what lies those frogs have been telling them, allying them against us. We have been given no quarter- we must return none ourselves. By Divine Right and seal of the Royal Family, we are here to bring back bounties unknown to our good England! Shall we falter because we pity unknowable, godless creatures who would attack us in our sleep? I say, "Give no quarter to those who raise their hand to the Empire!" We are the HAND of the Empire, and I would see no hand raised against us! Who's with me?!

The British soldier is worth any three of the enemy. If cold steel and a stiff upper lip can't break an enemy, you should call in the cannons.

Otherwise, it's mostly logistical. We haven't the facilities to support it. Should one part in a million prove faulty, we'd be stuck waiting for a convoy or two before a replacement could be found. Unless we were to jury rig something and risk killing ourselves. It could certainly make for a strong point in an emplacement, but I wouldn't trust it to conquer the bloody continent on its own. Leave mobile warfare to flesh and horses, maybe steam horses, that's the way we made this empire, by jove.

Also, we get in Teslas good graces by protecting his assistant.

Send her a man, only different to you and me by his nation and lack of hygiene, with his flesh burned away and his lungs flooded with putrid ichor. Send her a man, guilty of only of his birth, with his eyes melted in their sockets and blood streaming from his orifices. Better still, send her the women and children killed by a fickle wind that brought the curse upon a village.

Good gentleman, I've heard such talk before, but the officers who tutored me in Officers Academy spoke highly of future technology through the progress of industrialization! A tank in particular is truly top-notch technology! We could have sir Roark's scribe or some of the workers look at it if it obtains damage- which seems doubtful, if I may be so bold!

The tank is a weapon and a symbol of the Empire's might, sir! It breaks the morale of the enemy who do not know what it is, and sends them running once they see what it can do! The Male tank can deliver emplacement-pulverizing rounds into the center of crowds, and if I properly recall my studies, the Mark IV had both a main gun that puts past cannons to shame, and four maxim guns! It is an armored behemoth that can bolster the resolve of its allies and lead them to victory through a hail of gunfire that would see a wave of men falter!

This is a crass statement sir in an honest debate- I humbly protest your outlook on such a thing. The wounds of the gases are indeed crippling, and there are in fact risks of gas being blown out, but careful deployment and proper planning will see this used best as possible! And I care not for the birth of a man, but whether or not he is currently attempting to kill one of the Queen's valued subjects! The Mother of our Empire should not be given to see the horrors of war, and I was taught in my household that she views the death of a Englishman as a worse affront than the death of a foreigner or savage trying to -kill!- one of her servants! For dignity's sake, I wouldn't think of showing her the effects of such a weapon! It is simply ungentlemanly!

I wish for a world where men such as Sire Hugh Gough were not risking their lives when they could be spared.

As for the "demonic" act- well, war -is- hell sir. Isn't it a demonic act to destroy another man's life in the first place? I was taught that if the death of one man, no matter how gruesome, would stop a hundred from fighting on, then we as Englishmen must steel ourselves to do whatever is necessary to preserve as much life as possible. Isn't it sensible that a hundred tribesmen die, their corpses are discovered, and none fight on? We have their best interests at heart!

You fool yourself then. Maybe the Academy men are farther past their time then I recall. Men like Hugh Gough were not forced to such feats, they sough them. Why I recall a battle back in the earlies, Hugh wore his fighting coat of purest white and let cry when the savages charged: "At last, we can be at them with bayonets!" He carried that day as he did every other, never losing for his credit.

Removing men from war, removes its only honor. Killing a man for being an enemy is a necessity, torturing him with gas is cowardly, just the same. Let them fear us for our stoutness in battle and strength in the fight, not in our machinations of nature.

Riker spits in your face in response, and says, you would be the one hanged for harboring an altered being. Your collaboration with this "thing" has shown me that you are truly in the pockets of the Americans.

The drone listens, nods, and then hands you a timesheet describing his schedule for tomorrow. He then walks over to a pile of wood and goes to sleep on it. ORDERS?

    GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

If he's alive in a tiger trap, he's still alive for sake of the rp, correct?

I say we keep him the hole for a while, see if the bastard can sweat. When we receive our rp for his continued existence, I say we give him a rifle and afresh reload of ammunition and point him toward the french. Offer him the right to die serving the Crown, rather than on the Crown's noose.

Of course, he might just be likely to turn it on us. We'd do bets to keep him bound and blinded until sufficiently far away from us.

"Riker. We are both men of the Crown. We both give our lives, each and every day, to ensure it’s everlasting glory. I believe you are a good man. But you are constantly at odds with others. Why? Because you see them as traitors. But think. Surely there could never be so many traitors in Her Imperial Majesties’ domain? Is it not possible that at times, you have in the past over reacted? Not in regards to treason, which must be rooted out wherever it is found, but in your judgment of others."

"The last thing I wish to see is some unholy abomination walking around our camp, but we need only use him until he has completed his task. Once done, he will be on his way, and we may gain access to some of Tesla’s technology. Not just for us, but for the entire British Empire! Then, with their own weapons can we eventually take the fight to them and liberate the so-called country of America. It is not that we have not set the man’s execution date; we’ve simply postponed it until a time most beneficial to Her Majesty."
