Alright, lets get the show on the road.

You are Hannah. Also known as H.A.N.A. <A13> or simply as Thirteen, you are the product of Terran Empire biotechnology and designed to act as a living ship controller interface and as a substitute to Artificial Intelligence. You witnessed the destruction of the first extraterrestrial race Humanity encountered among the stars and saw Humanity retreat into the Void as the results of its arrogance began to destroy it. You rebelled against the Fleet to side with your friend, Six, as she and five other H.A.N.A. mutinied aboard the “Prime”, a Fleet Dreadnought. And lastly, your wrecked ship crash-landed on a planet called Thanela Prime, where you remained frozen in Cryostasis for 2000 years until an alien xenoarchaeologist team woke you up. Upon awakening you decided to go with the Seekers that found you to see their civilization heads, and the heads of the Trispecies alliance that is currently in place.
    >> H.A.N.A. Quest Pt5 Supernova !FzAyW.Rdbg 01/14/10(Thu)17:14 No.7588285
You are currently in a small yet secure cabin onboard a Seeker spacecraft, about to reach the Thanela System Gate. Inside your head (specifically a portion of your implants allocated memory) is Cam, an AI created by the Seekers for translation purposes as well as for an attempt at understanding Humanity. In your quarters is a small personal terminal, a bed, a reinforced porthole, a closet with a self sealing space suit in it, several oxygen tanks, and a heavily reinforced door. The environmental suit you are wearing is capable of withstanding direct application to flames for ten minutes before overheating, is slightly resistant to electricity, and can serve to protect you in an absolute vacuum.

    You currently possess:
    1x Small Kinetic-Slug Pistol
1x Shoulder Holster (currently located under environmental suit)
1x Environmental Suit w/ collapsible Helmet
    1x Skintight Bodysuit

In your Environmental Suit there are:
    3x Auto-sealable Patches
    6 Hours of Oxygen
1x Carbon-fiber Combat Knife (belt sheath located on waist below lower back)
1x Pair of Magnetic Grip Soled Boots
    >> H.A.N.A. Quest Pt5 Supernova !FzAyW.Rdbg 01/14/10(Thu)17:15 No.7588298
The ship is currently approaching the Thanela System Gate - you may explore your terminal, move around the ship, or just sit tight before I move us through the Gate.

    > Explore terminal!
On the lit terminal appears a rather brief list of functions:
    -Floor Plan
    -Ship Areas
    -Destination

    > Destination. where the hell are we going?
The Destination tab notifies you that you are headed towards Assura System, with a short blurb informing you that this is the Capital System of the Seeker's Territory.

How to survive in the world of H.A.N.A. Quest: (borrowed from Deathquest since I loved it)
    Use Common Sense – Please.
Use Creativity/Cunning – Now that we are out of flashbacks, I’ll be doing my best to keep the quest railroad free, and if there are multiple ways to achieve a certain goal, then I’ll allow just about anything – even if it gets you killed.
The Devil is in the Details – Say you happen to be wielding a power cable that’s heavily insulated so you won’t get killed by touching it – GREAT! Now just make sure that when you throw it at the baddies that the metal deck you’re standing on is not connected to them, or you are wearing some super-insulated boots. Otherwise…
Use Planning – I encourage this wholeheartedly. Goes hand in hand with the first two points.
Awesome/Rule of Cool – If it’s crazy enough to work, and looks awesome – and has only a slight chance of frying you to a crisp or launching you into space without a tether, well… I just might let you live after you do whatever it is you’re doing.
Ask Questions: Straightforward, and useful in seeing Point 3. I encourage this, as it stretches me to visualize in my writing more.
Roleplay Conversations: Good RP is very, very good, and will be rewarded accordingly. I mean, you guys turned Six back from insanity. So use those silver tongues!

    >I realized that Floor Plans and Ship Areas were the same thing in my scheme.
The ship schematic flashes up on the terminal, highlighting where the main sections of the ship are in relation to your room. The ship consists of three tiers, or floors. On your floor there is actually nothing of much importance except for a single elevator at the far left of the hall that connects to your room, as well as an assortment of other secure cabins, mostly empty. On the floor above yours and to the far left (past the elevator) is the Bridge, and on the floor below yours (connected directly to the elevator) is Engineering. The Engines block is directly connected to Engineering and is located (in relation to your room) to the far right of the plans.

One more question that's been bugging me for awhile; why didn't humanity trust AIs? Were there ever any bad experiences with them, such as betrayal, or was it merely distrust and not wanting to find out?

a thought occurred to me since last thread
This ship was the only find on this planet, so what happened after we were shot down? if the battle continued then there would have been more signs of wreckage in system.

also we should ask if they keep studies on all things found in a comprehensible database, we would like to see if we can find something from our past. Alternately we should give them some rudimentary details on Prime and ask if they have encountered anything like it.

Also also, could our old ship be restored? We probably have some sentimental attachment to it

All very good points. You certainly could ask the xenoarchaeologists currently on board about the solar system with questions pertaining to possible wreckage and possible historical finds. As for your old ship, well, that will have to wait, but it depends on your choices when talking with certain figures.

    >>7588729
We have no knowledge of the Assura System. Upon asking Cam, he chuckles. "I certainly am not 2000 years old, and was mainly designed to mimic and assist in the study of humans and their many interesting habits and creations. The Assura System, however, is the Seeker homeworld system. To be exact, their homeworld is named Assura, and is the first planet from their star. It is located on the Sagittarius Arm of our Galaxy, if you wanted a needle-in-a-haystack location."

    >>7588792

Did Assura have a stargate in it? Did humanity leave ID markings or 'You are here' maps on their stargates to aid logistics?

"I think I'd enjoy seeing Assura myself when we get there. Shall we head to the bridge?" you ask Cam. "Why certainly, ma'am." He replies in a dignified tone.

You press a small button next to your cabin door, and it slides open with a slight hiss of pressurized air. The four guards outside are slightly startled at your appearance, but when you explain your intentions to them, they gladly assist you to the elevator and towards the Bridge.

A pair of doors as thickly armored as the one on your cabin slide open to reveal the nerve center of the Seeker ship, and your first thoughts are of how crowded it is. It's quite different from what you're used to seeing on Human craft, with almost three times the consoles and crew present; most likely to make up for the lack of a H.A.N.A.. A large viewscreen in the front shows a detailed look of the Thanela Gate, almost invisible against the black background of space and unblinking stars if it wasn't for the reflecting rays of the system's Star. Around the Gate there seems to be no wreckage at all, but there is what looks like a small station or outpost in orbit.

A tall Seeker approaches you respectfully and introduces himself. "My name is Thal'tek, and I am honored to be your Captain for this momentous event. Welcome to the Bridge of the "Light Bringer"." This close to him you can see that he has black leathery skin, but has three silver stripes actually embedded in the skin on top of his shoulders. He also seems to be wearing a gray space suit of sorts, but without a helmet.

"Hannah... It would be my pleasure to assist you. The archaeologists you desire to meet are in the middle of some sort of discussion in Engineering currently. They love to see your people's technology in action, you see. As for this ship, the "Light Bringer" is equipped with three Ion Pulse Turrets as a standard armament. We happened to be the closest ship to Thanela Prime when we were summoned to escort you, otherwise I'm sure a more heavily armed ship would have had the honor." The Captain also designates a set of two consoles in the front of the ship as Navigation consoles, three consoles set behind the Navigation as Weapons Control, and a total of four consoles (split into to pairs and flanking Weapons) as Communications. As the Seeker ship approaches the Gate, you can hear the slight whine from the Capacitors charging in what you assume to be the Engineering section of the ship. With a slight jolt, the ship activates its Jump Engines and leaps through space, the light around the ship beginning to stretch from mere points to longer lines. It all seems quite normal to you, except for the fact that you aren’t physically synced with the ship and that the Capacitors seem to be making a much higher pitched whine now. A Seeker seated at a side console waves the Captain over, and he excuses himself to assist his crew.

A Seeker Navigator yells that the ship has lost its Jump Inertia, but the rest of his cry is lost as the ship looses power with an explosion that vibrates roughly through the hole, tossing you from your feet and towards the viewscreen. Strangely enough, you continue floating towards the Bridge viewscreen without falling - the ship's artificial gravity must be out.

Ask our in-head AI if there's anything we would normally be able to interface with on a ship using this sort of technology. Presumably it knows our specs. No way should we be locked up in our cabin through this kind of crap.

We're not. We are on the bridge.

You take a look at the consoles while continuing to spin through the air, and do not see any cables of the sort. You'd probably have to attempt to fashion a cable yourself to connect to any of these consoles, or even rip open one and try to jury rig a cable or two.

    >>7590546
"I probably could walk you through splicing a cable together to connect to your implants, but it would take a bit of time to get it right."

You can see your four guards kicking off towards you, attempting to take you back down to the floor. A small damage control team arrives and reports to the Captain that the Jump Capacitors seem to have overloaded and actually fused together. The Power Generator seems to also have overloaded and burned out several safety fuses, and it will take some time to repair. You can see the Navigators and a couple other crew members turning a few cranks at the front of the bridge, and the viewscreen and metal plating behind it begin to descend, revealing a backdrop of stars and what looks like a large asteroid belt, the latter being very close to the ship.

Tell the captain that we wish to try and interface with the ship so that we can pin-point exactly where the problems are.

they probably know the ship better than we do

"I would love to see you do that, but I have a team down there checking it out, and there currently is no power running through this ship. Its my priority to keep you safe until we reach Assura, and until then..." the Captain's voice trails off and you can see his body stiffen with a reaction that can only be compared to alarm and fear.

"Get her down NOW and get the crew ARMED! SUIT UP!" he yells, waving his arms around with urgency.

-RL intervenes, be back in 10.

Crap. Pirates. Attempting a boarding action by the sound of it. Good thing we had that training. Well, I suppose it would be best to stay with the nice armored guards for now.

And good thing we secreted away a weapon of our own. They may not be inclined to provide one for us.

Get a weapon from whoever is issuing them. If they protest, tell them we won't do anything so rash as to charge to the heat of the action, but if it comes down to it best to have everyone able ready to repel the attackers.

Dammit, I hate being unable to even monitor the action... but I daresay that resisting the captain in a combat situation wouldn't turn out well for us. Go along with whoever chooses to escort us, and try to figure out a decent way to splice into their systems along the way. We need to put together an adapter or something.
