You are a faiy princess. last time you selected your companions. A prismatic Psuedo-dragon steed and a useless bard who is shy around you. After finagling them into your party, you set off for HIGH ADVENTURE the next morning.

As you prepare to depart, geared in the most elaborate amazing princess adventuring gear you could not imagine, a whisper on the wind tells you that your mother, the queen, wishes to see you before you depart.

Upon visiting her, you spend a few minutes exchanging pleasentries, before she hugs you and asks you to look after yourself. She then gives you enough artifact level enchantements and items to make you mostly invulnerable at all times, and actually invunerable at most times., and only under a preset condition may you be hurt. Choose that condition

    1. you may only be hurt under the light of a false star.
    2. you may only be hurt by the one who loves you the most on the day they hate you the worst.
    3. You may only be hurt if ever you step outside this dimension.
    4. You may only be hurt by a god.
    >> Anonymous 02/14/10(Sun)10:24 No.8080739
    I choooose....

    2.

    what could possibly go wrong?
    >> Anonymous 02/14/10(Sun)10:25 No.8080742
The fourth option. We may have business outside of our dimension, no couple is perfect and if a false star appears, it most likely will be quite persistent. So just don't piss off any gods.
    >> Anonymous 02/14/10(Sun)10:27 No.8080759
Besides, most gods will have some means of bypassing your protection anyways.

well, not if her mother is a goddess?

I mean she is a fairy queen.

The only fucker I ever knew who could even hope to match that was Ganon. who had a fucking cheat force.

Even then, if a god wants something, he gets it, sooner or later. So there's no need to get protection from gods.
    >> Anonymous 02/14/10(Sun)10:42 No.8080892
1 means you can be hurt in certain circumstances, 2 in one unique circumstance by one unique person, 3 in a circumstance you have some control over, and 4 by specific beings.

2 seems the most specific (it sounds like that day can only happen once), so I vote it
    >> Anonymous 02/14/10(Sun)10:49 No.8080959
Uh, can we reconsider and take the Badass Leprechaun instead of the useless bard? Please?
    >> OP 02/14/10(Sun)10:51 No.8080981
Your mother shrouds you in powerful artifacts, charms, and spells to make you immune to all but the gods.

She smiles at you, and talks to you about a means to arm yourself. She wants you to take one of the ancient Fae artifacts with you, to help you on your journey. She states that she will not explain what each one does, but you will simply have to attempt to figure it out, here and now, and choose whatever you like the most. So place close attention to the description.

    1. The Crown and Star rod of Ybrik, the Devourer of stars. This crown is said to have belonged to the ancient Fae god on his journeys to satiate his infinite hunger. it is said that he possessed the ability to wear many hats to situate whatever his needs...
    2. The mask of the Deca hexed Fool. Said to be possessed by a minor goddess, It's face changes your appearance whenever and however you please, but in addition, allows you to see the world through a fool's eyes....
    3. the bracelet of charms. Said to belong to demi-god leprachaun, who after eons of being chased by the gods for this artifact, finally made a last stand and banished them to this realm. If he was not to enjoy them in peace, no one was.
    4. Mother's Sword and scabbard. You aren't sure where your mother got this sword, and she isn't quite sure either. All she knows is that one day, she is simply enjoying a bath in a pretty lake, when some idiot tossed a broken sword at her. plotting revenge, she enchants the sword and throws it back out. only to find that it's tossed back on to her head as she is finishing her bath a few years later.

You approach the bar where Ramo, the Leprachaun is usually set to reside and spend the morning through evening hours.

As you walk into the pub, the irish music plays softly. the barkeep is busy washing away the tables and cups, as you hear a clank from a dark corner with about 2 dozen mugs of ale lay strewn about.

You approach the old and grizzled leprachaun. his grizzled green jacket faded out and stained with undefinale liquids. greyed hair and with an eyepatch, he leeres out at you.

What can I help you with there' young lass.

he says in gravely and brooding, if not kind voice.

You reply that you want him on your adventuring crew.

he looks down at his beer.

"use to be an adventurer Meself back in the Realms... had me buddy Danny and I tankering about in fields of gray and ash. Days like those when a boy had to be a man and a man had to put food on his table without asking to many questions... Danny once asked me "Ramo, you think the good lord will see us in hell for this?" and I recall me laughing, laughing... and he ask me, "what are you finding so funny ya daft lunatic?" and I remember me laughing... Cause we were already there Lass.... We were already there....

    2. We'll probably plan on killing a god sooner or later, so although 4 seems good, it could get in our way. 2 can only happen once so it gets my vote.

    >item
    4. Changing shape with 2 seems cool, but Excalibur sounds like the most powerful. Plus, the bard and dragon might not be too good in combat, so we should be.

Sammy, the Bard says. "If you wish for treasure And Adventure to boot. Then i know of a place where we may go loot. To the lost city of Atlantis within the fabled 8th sea. if I wished for adventure, that is where I would be. dread robbers and Ghost Pirates and Treasure Maps as well. Fighting Krakens and Sea monsters will be ever so swell." Difficulty: ADVENTURE. Reward: ADVENTURE.

One third Bioshock, One Third Cthulhu, one third Undead Pirates.

Make sure there are plenty of mutated and/or mindless undead running around and a few isolated fortresses peopled by the descendants of the original inhabitants. Yes I do like Bioshock.

which basically sealed the city under a massive crystal dome and sunk it below the ocean, cutting them off from the surface but leaving them self-sufficient and safe from further pirate attacks, but there was some serious Cthulhu shit in the deep water under the city that the council didn't know about, the council built a magic-powered Bathysphere to escape but they were killed by undead/mutants before they could escape, he pirates used the Bathysphere to invade but were all killed by the Mutant Zombie Atlantiens and armed survivors, but the pirate leader was a powerful Necromancer, he saw what happened to Atlantis and turned his Pirates into an independent faction Pirates of the Caribbean style undead, everyone then spends the next few thousand years trying to take over Atlantis before it was rediscovered by adventurers, the lucky ones took refuge with the Atlantiens, the others were consumed by the Dark Powers and forced into the service of the Great WhateverCthlhu.
