The 8 people I hate are not the only people that are terrible on /tg/. They're simply the ones that are so bad that I have actually been able to "isolate" them.

A fair amount of my "detective" work bases its evidence off of what anyone has access to. For one, the logs on 1d4 (can't post the full url, since that gets you banned. I found out the hard way, hence the slow response) have all the ISPs and Usernames of people that have made edits to those pages. 4 of the people I hate use that site almost religiously, while all 8 have visited on more than one occasion.

One person usually posts anonymously, but has to use a username on 1d4 in order to upload pictures. 5 second google search brings up a DA page, without much art but plenty of comments.

It seems that there's a fair bit of "pockets" of the internet where people on /tg/ get together, and the majority of my findings were almost accidental. It's only certain things that stuck out that made me even consider that it could even be possible to figure out just how many people compose the major tumor that afflicts /tg/.

I don't really want to go out and call out the 8 people. These 8 will, I can say with absolute accuracy, throw a shitstorm. In fact, I doubt I even have to get close to naming them, and they'll already start flooding comments like "XXXXX is awesome! I, totally not him, think that he's great and that you're lame! But, I think I might as well point out one I really dislike. I hate the others well enough, but he's the one that pisses me off the most by his "style" of posting.

I call him "Derpderp" because he uses the word "derp" a fair amount. It may be his favorite word. He seems to very much into 40k, and I don't think he has ever said anything good about any other game. He might have, but it wouldn't match up to his 1d4 account at all, and those rare comments would slip through my net.

Major character issues? Thinks it's the coolest thing in the world to be "angry," and loudly supports the idea of rage and raging. While it's okay to be angry, he seems to get angry at anything that isn't 40k, and even then at anything that goes beyond his absolutely retarded ideas of "refluffing" 40k.

He's not very bright, doesn't bother to make himself anything other than hateable, and agrees with himself shamelessly.

One thing that could be considered "good" about him? He's probably the "manliest" of the 8, with 5 being overly effeminate, but he takes it to a level where it's too obvious he's overcompensating.

In the end, he's a douchebag.

I don't like the "puppet" roleplayers myself, but they don't post enough. Even though they post a fair bit collectively, it's simply not constant enough nor in enough of a volume. The self-assessed 30% error margin (which is absolutely enormous, but it's as far as I'm willing to claim) was only able to shrink down that far because of the sheer volume of posts/edits/comments/votes/etc. that the 8 have made.

The major issue I have with the 8 is that all but 2 have "pet" projects, which form a fair bit of the posts they make. They basically work to promote a single thing, to the point where it's come down to 95% of any threads related to that subject are made by them. That may seem like an exaggeration, but that's only 19/20 threads. The way they vote up the threads on suptg is also pretty shameless. Take some time to investigate it yourselves.

Here's a quick protip. Check to see how many votes a thread has gotten. If the thread has an abnormally high amount of votes, a fair amount can be attributed to one (or perhaps even 2) of the 8. Typically, fifteen votes and more should be warning signs.

I've had some similar ideas in the past, but I've never actually bothered to actually try and prove it.
Being an unemployed college graduate, I am on here far more than is healthy, and although I mostly just lurk, it's not all the much of a stretch to think that a small number of people with similar amounts of available time could really shit up the board if they put their minds to it.

Another method of pattern tracking on anon posters OP has not mentioned yet is simply image file names. Take the OP image for example, follow up posters who post the image with the file name of 1268224610.jpg are likely to not be the OP, while if it was to be posted again with the doushite-kou-natta-by-bottsu.jpg file name the odds of it being the OP are significantly higher. Though, now that I have said this, the inverse is now more likely true in this specific case. More interesting info can also be gleaned by file name, such as generation tracking, which thread anon got the image from can be followed and a geneology chart can be created by the subtle shifts in the number sequence. Any anon that changes the file name is even more easily tracked then ones who do not, but the pedigree of the file is no longer trackable

Well done, OP. I think I understand the true purpose of this thread. It was to draw out all the dumb members of the Hater Eight. By finding the weak links they can be killed and replaced by even more devious and clever trolls.

TL;DR - there is no Eight Hater and there never was. It was all a ploy to trim the fat from the /tg/ troll machine. And they got Anonymous to help them accomplish that goal.
