    Continued from >>9740662

You send your blood surging into 13's head through her eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and bullet wound. Garfield promptly melts the inside of her head, then begins charring her chest cavity as he sinks downward.
You feels 13's mind brush against you. Every window nearby shatters; a river is carved through a yard nearby, and trees begin growing alongside it. A fountain of oil begins at 13's feet, staining them black.

There is a blinding flash of light, and everything goes silent.
You are suddenly aware of yourself in a well-lit field. It seems to be a few hours earlier than it was just a second ago, still the early afternoon. The top half of several buildings that were also just in Miami a second ago are your only company in the field. 13 and 54 are both gone, though your blood remains.
You check to make sure you still have all your limbs. You do.
You check to see if your fedora is still there. It isn't.

The upper parts of these buildings are all filled with a lot of broken furniture and machines, cleaved perfectly apart.
There is a ROAD across this field. There is also a FARM nearby, a quaint little building.

Consult Garfield, check for non-amputational wounds since we know our limbs are still there, then attempt to get to the top of one of the buildings to get a better look at our surroundings.

Your veins swell and contract as your blood shifts about, testing the area. "I feel fine, so...un-fucked? I guess?"
You make your way over to the farm. As you draw nearer, you can see that the farmhouse itself is in a bit of disrepair, dead leaves from a nearby tree piled on the roof and in the gutters.

Moving further into the house, you locate a kitchen and living area, both dusty with disuse, and a staircase to the second story. There is a bulletin board in the kitchen covered with faded newspaper clippings from the Scott County Report. All the articles seem to be about the national attention being given to a young girl reportedly extremely gifted as a channel for seances.

Check for longarms. This is a farm, that means that there is at least a shotgun and a varmit-caliber scoped rifle.

Also likely explosives, farmers get a pass to buy dynamite for various applications like blowing up beaver dams that hinder irrigation and such.
    >> StonerDM !em3oEn8LAg 05/11/10(Tue)03:50 No.9747465
The upstairs has two bedrooms and a small bathroom; there is a full bathroom downstairs.
One room is obviously a little girl's bedroom. There is a layer of dust here, thicker than the rest of the house. It is enshrouded in dimness, as no window is nearby to cast light directly into it.
The master bedroom is host to another decaying body. This one is on the bed, rotted into the very mattress. In one hand there is a .45 calibur revolver. In the other is a letter.
There is also a bureau with several drawers of clothes and a jewelry box.

The letter is handwritten. the paper has yellowed somewhat.
"We're never going to see our baby girl again.
We had lost her long before they took her away.
They told us she would never wake up, and when she did it was the most wonderful miracle we had ever experienced.
Whatever came back, it wasn't her.
She would sit out in the front yard, endlessly inspecting each speck of grass. She stared at us for minutes if we so much as spoke a word to her. And her eyes. The look in those little brown eyes.
She would wake up screaming in the night about how "it got inside." By morning she wouldn't remember our names. Then one day she stopped waking up.
The government men took her away, and wrote us a letter saying that she'd fallen back into a coma, and that they wouldn't be able to bring her out of it.
We told them to shut her off.
We told them to kill our baby girl.
Bury us when you find us.

    Welp. Tragic.

Grab the revolver and search for other guns. Grab some canned foods and cook up something to eat, we are no doubt famished by now. Grab all the valuables and money too, check under matresses and for loose floorboards. Grab the keys to the family vehicle and see if it still runs, but don't take it. Instead, get some blankets and stuff and head out into the fields and camp out. If someone comes looking thanks to SUDDEN ANOMALY or something then we don't want to be found in the house.

You pick up the gun (only 4 cylinders are loaded).
There is a pantry with some canned goods, as well as a bin full of rotten corn. You whistle to yourself to offset the awful silence. Mrs. Westchester lies silently in the living room.
You do not know any binding rituals. You're lucky you were able to remember what an Elder Sign looks like.
You drag Mrs. Westchester out into the field outside, and Peter afterwards. Your own shovel is gone, so you use one from the barn, and dig shallow graves for each of them.

It depicts a crude rendition of the farmhouse. a small stick figure child is playing out near a few badly-drawn stalks of corn. Next to her is another stick figure, drawn in black. It has abnormally long and angular arms, and appears to be hugging or strangling the little girl.

Grab item, turn around, put our back to a wall. Edge along the wall back to the door outside.

Back to the wall, blood out, and guns up. Slowly work towards the exit with back firmly pressed against the wall the entire time.

You grab the strange metal statuette. It feels cold and heavy in your hands. Scrambling for the stairs to the surface, you trip, knocking the goggles off your face.
There is a span of several seconds where your fingertips dance across the dirt of the unpaved floor, before closing around the strap of the goggles.
You bolt for the door, in the darkness, like a desperate animal. You fling yourself out the door and into the afternoon sun, your heart punching the front of your chest as you suck air into your lungs, watching the darkness looming at the basement door.

Going to end it for tonight cause i am fucking TIRED. seven hours of off-the-cuff writefaggotry, and i need some fucking sleep.

    Archiving this thread now.
I'll try to start again tomorrow, between 9 and 10 like tonight.

Feedback time. How're we doing? Is everyone still having fun?

If there is a way to defeat/get through to/kill 13, some hints would be good. Maybe I'm just dense but I don't feel like we've learned anything of value.
    >> StonerDM !em3oEn8LAg 05/11/10(Tue)04:43 No.9748083
Quick Note: It's not as cliffhanger-ish as i just realized i may have wrote it.
The darkness isn't looming in that a monster is about to burst out or something. It's merely looming because of how palpably terrifying it is to you at the moment.
    >> Anonymous 05/11/10(Tue)04:44 No.9748089
You are doing good, though you do seem to be quick to start in on the next action. Then again, probably better than too long. It's a fine balancing act, and I'm fine with it the way it is.
    >> Anonymous 05/11/10(Tue)04:44 No.9748095
    I'm sure more clues'll appear.

"I'm sad because my daughter's dead. I blow my brains out, kthxbai.
    Peter Westchester
PS shoot my daughter three times in her glowing weak point :3

    I kid, I kid.
Unfortunate confession: As you may have guessed, all this shit is made up on the spot, especially when you guys do stuff like decide to go back to help the little girl. I'm doing my best to tie everything together, and right now I don't -think- there are any loose ends, but forgive me if we end up with 1 or 2 Lost-esque missing conclusions.
    >> Anonymous 05/11/10(Tue)04:49 No.9748137
lol. Yeah I'm not saying you need to paint a target on her, but so far I feel like we've only confirmed stuff we could've guessed before we got zapped into her brain or wherever we are now.

Then again, I don't really know much about Lovecraft or the elder gods mythos so I maybe be missing clues due to ignorance.
