    >Lure him into an alley with the child's voice. Then eat him.
You climb up a building and bound between rooftops until you're ahead of him, then jump down and wait. As he passes, you ask him for help with the boy's voice. He heads into the alley a little hesitantly, just far enough that you can clamp a hand over his mouth and drag him in before stabbing him in the stomach several times. Drunk and surprised, he's no match for you. The taste is excellent; perhaps it was all the wine he drank?

You note that in addition to the nice clothing he was wearing there's a signet ring, and a fairly heavy coin pouch. He was carrying a rapier, but it's more stylish than functional.

Seem to have the consensus. First to three, as usual.

Something about his appearance is nagging you, but it's on the edge of your memory. The sign on the signet isn't wholly unknown either. You're hardly pulling any residual memories from this guy--he must have been a real scatterbrain.

Much of your knowledge of the city comes from the memories of a child, filled in with small amounts of memories from other humans you've eaten. Your own memories you can recall distinctly, but if the child didn't know it well it can prove difficult.

As you did your courier duties, much of the city was abuzz with the news that an aristocrat's son disappeared the night before, and that only his rapier and a pool of blood were found.

Notably, one of your courier clients told you conspiratorially that it was probably revenge from the shapeshifters--that the victim had ridden with the group that had left a werebear grievously wounded in the woods only the day before. Since it had somehow escaped, it must have sent its allies to attack those who had hunted it. With a couple deft questions, you find that the city is apparently having skirmishes with an effective alliance of were-creatures. And that there's already a possible war with a major kingdom to the north just waiting to get touched off.

    >Speaking of crossbow, let's pick up a few more bolts for it; we're running low.

It doesn't take long. That kind of scream attracts predators like moths to a flame. You hear a howl, which is soon returned by one from another location, and a possible third. The first one then gets closer.

What we want is a great axe, and the proficiency needed to be good with it, then we can lop limbs easy, or even go for a bisection to insure enough mass for trait acrual.

Kind of skeptical about this whole Werebear dealie, to be honest. Village propaganda out the ass, certainly, but the real extent of it is unknown.

Hunting wereWOLVES (which are always chaotic evil) and such seems reasonable, but I think this werebear is getting dicked over by this whole "IT IS A SHAPESHIFTER, KILL IT" idea.

Just made the hit, with a stab into the brainpan. The snake is dead.

CHOOSE--well, actually, you only don't have a choice. One thing is available and it's what you would want anyways. POISON, DELICIOUS POISON. Your upper teeth hollow out in a very short and painful process, and poison glands appear in your mouth. The glands currently refill their poison content enough to provide 3 uses/day. DC 14, Con damage, 1d6 primary and secondary. Unfortunately, the Con damage from the poison you took is still present until you heal it, BUT you won't be harmed by this species of snake again.

    >Did the second snake attack even hit? What the hell was our AC?
It did not. Your AC was 19. Your dagger attack hit, your bite attack did not.

The poison itself is no longer an issue, but the Con damage will naturally heal at a rate of 1 point per day (unless my memory is mistaken or too vodka-addled). You can also get it healed via a 2nd level spell, Lesser Restoration.

    >Will we recover ability score damage we we nom things, or just damage to HP?
As far as you know, only HP. You haven't tried to recover ability score damage before--you've never HAD ability score damage before.

To St Cuthbert's church, or to Pelor's? Either way you'll probably be waking someone up.

Fair enough. Being NOBLEBRIGHT just by virtue of being a bear does seem relatively silly, especially considering that actual (brown) bears are territorial dickbags.

I was also looking at some other silly things for powergaming purposes, the silliest of which (in addition to most completely unlikely to be allowed) would be having someone animate a 3-foot slab of hewn stone, thus making it a Small Animated Object (15 HP), then killing it and eating it, gaining the HP of a 3-foot block of hewn stone (540 HP).

Completely retarded, but it made me laugh to think about it.

I can give you basic healing now, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow before I can get something to remove the effects of that poison, it's not exactly something I need on call every day. You head back to Claire's place, still weak from the poison's affects on your body. Still, once you've recovered, the outing should prove to have been well worth it. In the meantime, you'll have to be careful.

Also, idea for next time: tell Claire about what we are, and offer to let her milk out extra venom to save on alchemical ingredient costs.

After all, we were probably created by one of the wizards of this town, and we have been seen in the company of one such wizard. If word gets out that connects us to what we've been doing, she would be a natural person to blame. Needless to say, neither one of us wants that to happen.

Yes, but if she turns us in after we confess, we'd just lay the blame on her for creating us, and she runs the risk of being nommed, and she'd know both of those.

Besides, Pelor emphasises the possibility of redemption and whatnot, so if we point that out, she might well decide that trying to redeem us is the moral (and smart) thing to do.

I apologize in advance for my excessively inebriated state, BUT yes, you can take the alternate form trait; because of the why you are it will give you an alternate form ability, and you can choose to have an alternate form and give future traits to one or both forms.
