    Chapter 2 pt1: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/12385200/

You struggle to get free, your psykic powers making the webs pulse and grow. You struggle fiercely, unable to get free.

Alessa moves deeper into the tunnel, the crab scrambling to its feet, chasing her, its carapace far too wide to fit through the tunnel. It screeched, reaching into the tunnel, its claw screeching against the concrete floor.

Both twins screamed as the monster slammed its captor against the wall, the uninjured one going berserk, leaping on its back. The c'tan blade sheared through its armor, cracking and burning. The creature howled, releasing its captive and lashing out on the other twin, its claws grating against her power armor.

"Allessa! Stay in the tunnel, just keep firing at it and keep it's attention away from us!"
I desperately rip through the web with my claw, a prayer on my lips to calm me down.
"I am my Sister's keeper, I guard their lives with my own, as I defend the Imperium. I shall not fail, I shall not falter..."
I shout as I rip through the last of my restraints.
As the crab swings at one of the twins, it exposes its back to me.
"...For the Emperor!" I shout, as I launch myself forward, my sword punching deep into the soft flesh of the beast, my claw piercing the carapace for purchase.
I rip the blade through as much of the soft inner tissue as possible, with no internal skeleton to halt my blade.
As the beast at last falters and falls to the floor, I turn to aid Allessa.

"Damn it!" I cry, frustrated at my entangled state. I slash at the webbing with my sword and jump forward, aiming to plunge my blade into the weakest spot I could find of the monster besetting the twins.

Esme sighs. It never rains but it pours. She cuts the psykic string like material around her with her blade, pulling hereslf upwards. "Deamon!"
She hurls herself at the crab besetting the twins, hoping to remove it out of her misery.

The webbing does not break easily, but within seconds you found yourself free. Picking a target, you leap upon the back of the crab attacking the twins, driving both blade and claw home. You shout the litany of fury as you twist your bade, the powerful weapon boiling the creature from the inside out. It falls over, instantly dead.

Still enraged, the uninjured twin lept at the remaining daemon, her inferno pistol blistering the creature's exterior. As it pulled back to deal with the infuriated seraphim, a hot blast of plasma hit it in the side of the head, toppling it.

Writhing in pain it let out an ear shattering bellow, the sound echoing through the halls.

"Finish it! Now!" I shout, my actions mirroring my words.
I sprint forward, throwing a bolt of the Emperor's light into the things mouth.
Hopefully that shall prevent it from calling for help, I think.
I quickly set to butchering the beast before it can regain its feet, carving gaping wounds with my claw and sword.
It is the twin who has the final blow, as is appropriate. I will not deny her vengance.
As the crab curls in on itself like a dead spider, I rush to the fallen twin's side, checking her body for wounds that I can heal.
As the other Sisters gather around me, I quickly heal what damage is needed to get her on her feet, and I say, "We need to move. That fight took much too long, and I think it may have called for help. Let's get through that doorway, and get as far from here as possible."
I let the uninjured twin take the burden of her sister, as I'm sure she wants, and glance at the broken monitors.
"Do you see anything useful on those?" I ask the twins, hoping their technical expertise will glean some knowledge of where to go.

If not, then let's get through that doorway ASAP.

Your bolt silenced the beast, you and the seraphim falling upon it like birds of prey. The creature was dead before it could take another breath.

You both rushed to the side of the fallen twin, burning away the webbing and eggs as you do. You checking her for injuries. She's not hurt badly. Perhaps a mild concussion from hitting the wall at worst.

""It's alright Exalted Martyr... I'm fine..."" They were speaking in unison. ""I... Think this realm is amplifying our connection...""

    "What's... Going on?"

Alessa had moved up behind you and was staring at the twins. "How are they doing that?"

You glanced nervously at the duo who were too wrapped up in each other to notice. You slip the dataslates in the uninjured one's hand. "Go see what you can do about the monitors." They nod once, absently, meandering slowly over to the console.

I give Allessa a shrug, "Let's just say that they have a very intimate bond. They are both twins, and the danger they have been in recently has only deepened what they already had."
I hate to be obtuse with the newest addtion to our party, but I want her to trust us more before I drop the news of the true depth of the twin's bond.
"We can't worry about that now, though. I will kill the rest of these eggs, could you please keep an eye down that hallway?" I ask, setting to the grim task.

Don't want to shock the new girl too much, she just had her soul pulled back into her body, after all.

"Well.." Esme turns to Alessa, not really sure how much she should tell her. "Err.. You see, everybody accompanying me in this realm has to be imbued with a tiny amount of the power the Emperor granted to me." She gestures towards the twins. "It hasn't had that effect on anybody else. I guess they're we're blessed by the Emperor to begin with." She shrugs her shoulders. "I know it takes some time getting used to, especially when you're standing between them." The Exalted Martyr takes a look around the room. "Alessa, please be so kind and watch the doorway, I'll have a look around this room. If you do have any other questions, please, don't hesitate to ask."

Alessa hesitates before moving to the doorway to keep an eye on it. You're not sure if she believes you or not.

You began killing the eggs with your sword, able to slice two or three apart with each swing. You were nearly done when the twins spoke up.

    ""Exalted Martyr?""

You turn to the twins. They had wired the blue one into the console and were staring at it. ""You're going to want to see this.""

You inspected the console more closely. It was used to view security cameras. ""I couldn't get it quite clear. Fortran probably could but..."" They looked down at the slate with concern, flipping through the different cameras.

You took a closer look at it. Despite the very fuzzy picture, you can see what looks like an enormous hive. Every camera the twins flip to is another section of it, every inch crawling with various daemons.

"They're twins... it's complicated. Suffice to say they have a bit of bond between them that's stronger then normal."
Esme looks around the room, examining it's contents, before turning back to Alessa. "No need to fear. We'll have you back in the materium with your fellow sisters soon."

I frown. "Do you see any exits or paths?" I ask, hoping for at least a little bit of good news.
I look through the images, seeking a path that we can take. "Is there a camera for what is beyond this door?"
As I am discussing the images with the twins, I lean in and whisper, "Also, try toning down the speaking at the same time. Allessa is starting to get skittish."
At their nod, I call to Allessa, and prepare to go through the next doorway.

"Great work. Don't worry. I wouldn't have been able to get this far without you two. I doubt Fortran would have fared as well as you did in this environment." She gives the two of them a pat on their backs. "And please try to tone the simultaneous speech thing down a bit - I think it's a bit too much for sister Alessa." After giving a quick wink to the pair, Esme beckons their new party member over to the console. "Please, take point at the door. I need to show this to sister Alessa." As she arrives, Esme quickly inspects her for any signs of stress, or other discomfort.
"Say, what do you make of this? Anything you know that might help us? By the way, how much do you know of what's currently going on? If you have any questions, this might be the right moment to ask them."

The twins glance at each other. ""Its not something I can control, but it doesn't usually last this long.""

You sigh and rub your aching temples, asking about the room beyond. ""Many of the displayed tunnels are very very deep in the ground. As long as we don't go any further down we shouldn't encounter many problems.""

Alessa opened the door, peeking through it. "I don't see anything... Its just another long corridor. There are a couple doors to either side but..."

"Those are just storage and maintenance rooms."They're of no use to us." The twins blinked before smiling at you. You didn't need your mantic sight to notice the psykic connection between them calming down.

"So what should we do?" Alessa glanced back out the door nervously.

(4am cant sleep. decided to post)

Other than a nasty bump on one of the twin's heads, no one seemed hurt

You quickly to moved on after reclaiming the dataslate. It had taken a bit of encouragement, but Alessa was finally talking with the twins.

You asked Alessa what she specializes in when there was a pause in the conversation.

"Oh... I'm a demolitions expert. Explosives, rockets, multimeltas... That sort of thing. I'm also fairly good with plasma based weaponry. Did you know it's possible to keep it from overheating by carrying and firing it at the correct angle? Of course this does nothing for someone trying to fire it rapidly..."

She began a somewhat lengthy explanation as to why the gun overheated and what could be done to prevent it. You could only guess she was trying to distract herself from the reality of what had happened to her. You weren't sure how long it had been before you came to a fork in the road. to the right was a ladder leading up. To the left was a staircase leading down.

The twins glanced at each other and then turned to you. ""Up."" They were clearly tired of this place.

Alessa snapped her plasma pistol back together. She had taken it apart to show the modifications she had made to the cooling system. "Oh, hmm? Yeah up seems like a good idea."

You quickly begin to climb the ladder, coming to a small hatch You try to force it open, but to no avail. You finally give up and use your power claw, shearing through the ice and metal easily.

You climb out slowly. The fog had past but a small snowstorm had picked up making visibility pretty bad. The windchill was nearly unbearable. You couldn't imagine what it would be like without your divine aura.

Alessa quickly climbs out of the hole, followed by the twins who unnecessarily jump pack the short distance over to you, grateful to be back out in the open.

    "Praise the emperor."Open air."

Alessa shivered. "Now I remember why I went down there!. It's not as cold!"

You looked around. There was a huge squat building nearby that wasn't too badly decayed. You started toward it when something caught your eye. It was half buried in the snow next to a rapidly fading set of footprints. You reach down and pick it up. Tessa's eyepatch...

You look down at the trail. It led in the general direction of the building before curving slowly... and then it was gone, the snow filling in the prints completely.

"Twins, I found one of Tessa's posessions," I say shakily, holding up the eye-patch.
I look to them pleadingly. "I hate to ask this of you, but you are both skilled at scouting. Please, could you look for her? The trail starts over there."
I gesture for Allessa to follow me to the squat building. "We won't survive this cold for long, and my aura can't completely protect you. Let's get to shelter while we wait for the Twins."
As I swiftly stride to the structure, I feel a strange mixture of hope and dread.

The twins grab your arm, holding you down. ""Exalted Martyr!"" They pull you gingerly to the ground. One of them slowly takes the eyepatch from you, the other crouching down and blowing hard on the snow, disrupting the new layer and examining one of the footprints.

"Judging by how frozen this is and the direction of the wind, it probably blew in from where Tessa had been walking before being caught in one of these footprints." The other twin clucked her tongue, shaking her head. "The snow has been partially melted in these prints and this is just the beginnings of the storm. These prints were made long before it blew in." She shivered as she stood. "It is unlikely Tessa took shelter in this building..."But we probably should. It's too cold to continue like this."

You risked a glance at the limited status display on the inside collar of your suit. It was rapidly approaching -40F and you doubt that included windchill. You probably could press on with liberal applications of your aura, but without that extra boost the joints on your powerarmor would quickly start freezing up.

"Tessa is a smart girl."She'd know to get out of this cold."That and she has a giant flaming chainsword."

Alessa trudged up next to you, visibly shivering. "W-who is Tessa?"

The twins cringe and pull her gently to the side, speaking in hushed voices. It looked like they were explaining much of what happened to her thus far.

You looked at the building again. It was your choice.

I weep in powerless frustration. There was nothing I could do.
I nod my head in agreement regretfully when the twins indicated moving into the building.
There is no other choice. I have to worry about the rest of my Sisters, not just her. Allessa won't last long in this cold.
With a heavy heart and shaking legs, I begin to walk towards the building.
I just pray that she may have stopped there as I clutch the eyepatch to my chest like a religious talisman.

"I hope you're right." Briefly pondering the possibility of continuing her journey despite the worsening storm, Esme considers her companions. "It's no use forcing you to march through the storm and I can see that sister Alessa isn't exactly in perfect shape yet." Her eyes soften as she sees the hurt expression on the sister's face. "Don't worry, it's okay to be a bit shaken when you've just returned from the dead. I can see you're alread freezing."

The Exalted Martyr lets out a sigh, and begins to trot towards the bulding. "I'd be very grateful if you'd keep the direction Tessa traveled in mind. Oh, and please keep the whole Exalted Martyr thing to a minimum. You're my sisters in arms and I trust you with my life as much as you entrust me with yours. Simply call me Esme."

As the group begins closing in on their shelter horrible thoughts begin creeping into their leader's mind. For some reason, she can't imagine what she would do if she were to discover that Tessa had succumbed to this place.

The thought of leaving the twins behind as some sort of eternal honour guard in that case seems tempting for a short moment, considering their influence on her decision. Esme however quickly shakes her head and banishes the thought to whatever depths it had come from. They'd first have to survive the storm themselves.

Still she cannot help but feel a deep seed of shame and regret burried deep within her chest, even as she clasps Tessa's eyepatch closely to it.
"Tessa... is a sister of battle." She says tersly, as Alessa and the twins trudge through the biting snow to the building.
"And she is one of my oldest friends. She is very dear to me."

I think we should allow Esme to take a brief break once she's found Tessa. She's been pressing forward since they entered the warp, a few hours of rest should help a lot.
But we'll just have to see how things develop, although I think there's probably something horrible in that building. Could be the thing that killed Alessa.

You arrived at the building quickly, ascending a small flight of stairs. You used your power to melt the ice from the door before yanking them open. A blast of warmer air greeted you as you stepped inside The place was enormous, with a decorative vaulted ceiling and various paintings on the walls as well as relics on pedestals encased in glass. Straight ahead were the old bones of some enormous carnivorous predator, bolted back together with steel plates. Near this huge skeleton, the very fabric of reality flickered and twisted. A crack.

You were in a museum of some kind.

Both the twins and Alessa stood awestruck as they entered. Places such as these were not common.

You moved cautiously deeper into the building, keeping alert for trouble. a faint light catches the corner of your eye. You turn your gaze to see... Tessa! She had ripped some wood from a display stand and was burning it, trying to warm up.

The Celestian took a moment to notice you, a huge smile spreading across her face. She waved at you and gestured for you to join her, nearly knocking her eyepatch askew, quickly readjusting it

Everybody, I do believe we have met the daemon that killed Allessa.
    I recommend caution.

At first sight, I felt a jolt of joy at seeing Tessa safe, the feeling nearly overwhelming in its intensity.
This rush of pleasure was quickly killed when I saw that she wore an eyepatch, when I was holding her's in my hand.
With a sense of distrust growing, I recalled the daemon that had taken the shape of Allessa's squad mate.
I probe her mind as I walk towards her, appearing to be nothing but happy.
As I draw closer, though, I prepare to launch a bolt of the Emperor's light into the abombination and kill it before it escapes.

Tessa stands up quickly, all smiles. You activate your witch sight. You were right. That's not Tessa.

"Esme! I'm so happy to see-" You launch a bolt of energy at her, the shot tearing a hole clean through her stomach, her form wavering and beginning to dissolve. She looked genuinely shocked, slowly turning translucent. It was that water daemon.

"ESME!"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR-" The twins stopped mid sentence, staring at the creature.

You quickly lashed out with another wave of energy, this one to hold her. She fell to the ground, loosing all resemblance to Tessa, struggling against her energy bindings.

"How did you..." You held up the eyepatch. It made a sound you couldn't identify. "Heh... Its amazing how one little mistake can ruin an entire facade, isn't it?"

"Now, you knew my name, and you made an excellent copy of one of my party members. This gives rise to many questions. I would...appreciate it if you answered them," I say, my aura flaring.

It sat back a little, struggling once again against the energy, its form slipping into ambiguity. "It matters not what you do to me or my daemons intruder. I am on the cusp of glory and nothing you can do will stop me. The help of my cousins will not save you, nor will destroying this lowly avatar of mine."

The twins moved to your side, Alessa a little more slowly.

"I'm sorry to say but you're friend is probably dead by now intruder. If the daemons didn't tear her apart, the cold has surely worn her down by now. You have been a worthy adversary though, and I do respect that. I'll be sure to put your souls in the same cage."

    >I also know that you don't have complete knowledge or awareness over this world, she thinks to herself, allowing herself a small flicker of hope.

It straightens up. "Not a true chaos god. Not yet. I am but the dream of a slumbering one. Nothing yet is solidified. Even the daemons you see, from the serpentine devourerers to the flying behemoths; nothing is set in stone." It paused. "Well.. nothing but that tiny insignificant wretch of a beast your companion took with you. It is beyond my reach for the moment."

"Regardless," it continued. "You give yourselves too little credit. In this state you have proven to be a real thorn in my side. Though do not expect it to last. Your power, little psyker? It is pitiful! Mayhap you could heal minor wounds with your abilities, and move small stones. You do not truly comprehend what has happened to you, yes? I would be lying if I did not say that I am surprised. From the information I've gathered thus far, when a psyker taps into a pocket of unfettered energy the results are usually... Disastrous." It laughed. "Some insignificant warp god must favor you! To guide your feeble mortal mind to such energies! And then to maintain it!" It cackled madly.

Alessa covered her ears and turned from the creature, walking slowly away. She'd have no more of it. The twins looked as if they might be sick.

"Oh you are an AMUSING one little psyker. Perhaps when I am awakened I will give you better than a cage. Yes... You can be my jester... yes... you will dance for me and fall again and again upon the ice."

It flinched again as you tightened your grip on it.

I shrug and slay the daemon. The damn thing hadn't been useful at all, but at least I know that Tessa wasn't dead yet.
I turn around, and ask the Twins to scout the rooms we have been in for anything useful or interesting.
Who knows, it's a museum, we might find some ancient and powerful weapon.
I also put a comforting arm around Allessa, "I'm sorry I had to interigate it, I needed info about Tessa. I killed it though, so you are avenged."
I pull her into a comforting hug, and after a few moments I ask, "Will you be able to go on? I can send you back to Ophelia if you like."

As I do all of this, my mind churns. That much psychic potential...I might be able to kill this god after all.
I give a grim smile at the though. The nasty little beast had a use after all. The god itself had given me the dagger to thrust into its heart.

Alessa shook her head as you tried to comfort her. She pulled away, looking sick. "This is... Heresy... What are you... I-" The twins quickly move over to her, helping you explain everything that has happened up to this point. You even managed to shock the twins several times.

"It might be best to tell these things to Galatea."We heard Florencia say she's an expert in Forbidden Lore and Psykic phenomena."

You offer to take them back. The twins let themselves slump a little, their silver winged angel training having hid much of their exhaustion. Alessa looked confused, her exhaustion even more profound than the twin's.

"We would love to exalted martyr."But only if you no longer need us."A few drinks of water and a chance to warm up would be welcomed though."Be sure to call us back when this storm dies down."We can probably track Tessa for you."

Alessa wobbled on her feet. "I would... very much like to leave this place."

The twins nodded. ""Who would you like next?""

You thought back. Galatea was powerful in close quarters, but Filigree was much faster and could detain creatures with her lash. Elizabeth's flamer could easily come in handy in flushing out and destroying hidden creatures. Chloe's senses would help detect creatures early, and maybe locate an orb. Eden's durability and shapeshifting abilities would be good for negating damage and bypassing obstacles without making a lot of noise. Fortran could repair electronics and help you bypass some obstacles as well as repair some of the older more basic weapons you may find. You frown, glancing at the newest member of your team. But Alessa could probably repair any of the weapons found. She was an expert...

"Thanks for all you have done, Sisters," I say wearily, "Your help has been invaluable. Rest for a while, because I have the distinct feeling that I might be needing you soon."
As we walk towards the breach in the realm, I outline who I wish to be sent back.
"If you could send Galatea, I would be most thankful. She might be able to help me out with my powers. I would also like Eden, and I suppose that I could use either Fortran if she is ready or Filigree."
I look around the museum as we pass through the exhibits.
Fortran might be able to work with some of the archaic technology, and might prove useful.

"I think I would love if you could send Galatea, Eden and Fortran. If the techpriestess hasn't properly recovered yet, please send Chloe instead." As the Exalted Martyr prepares to send her companions back, she adds one more request. "And I'd also love if they would bring me something to eat. The gift the Emperor has granted me sustains, but I haven't had any food in months. I'm beginning to miss it."

(going with Filigree because she's less tired)

Alessa is guided, with some reluctance, to the crack in the god's realm. She and the twins step inside and quickly vanish, you stepping in after them. It takes longer than usual, almost 10 minutes, before you are shoved violently forward by Galatea's appearance, followed immedeately by Filigree and then a trembling Chloe.

You wrap your aura around them as quickly as possible, but to no avail. The psyker grasps the sides of her head, collapsing. It's another few minutes before she is able to shakily climb to her feet. "F-forgive me... Exalted... Martyr..."

Filigree was trying not to laugh at the poor girl's distress. "Oh wow... So sensitive... This is your first time isn't it?" You could sense that Delessa had unlocked her powers again.

Galatea rolled her eyes at the daemon, her powerfist tightening a fraction. She turned a little too quickly approaching you with a small bow. "It feels strange bowing to you, Esme. It seems like only yesterday that I picked you out of the Schola graduates for training. Perhaps I am merely getting old. I-"

Filigree cut her off, bounding to your side. "I have food! Look!" She held some communal wafers and a rations brick slightly too close to your face.

I give Filigree an appreciative pat on the head as I talk to Galatea,"Please don't bow to me, I still have much to learn. Your experience will be invaluable here."
I get the rather...interesting group up to speed on recent events between bites of the food.
The food feels practically sent from the Emperor, having been so long since I have last eaten, and I feel some strength flood into my limbs.
As I finish with the tale, I suggest exploring the immediate area for anything useful or interesting.
Before we head out though, I ask for Chloe to see if there were any presences near us.

By the way, should we ask Galatea for help with our powers immediately, or wait a bit?

"Thank you for the food - although you shouldn't belittle Chloe." To emphasise her point, Esme focusses her aura on the daemonette, just for a short moment and only in such a tiny amount to give her a slight shock.

"Don't worry, I'm sure even Filigree will behave from now on." Take your time to get aclimatized, I need a few minutes of rest myself. If you think you can't handle this realm, do not hesitate to tell me." Esme places her hand on the girls shoulder. " As long as we're close to this node, I can send you back in a matter of seconds."

As she begins to unwrap the food Esme gestures for the others to sit down. "There's no need to bow to me Canoness. I've been granted my powers from the Emperor, they aren't mine - and I'm still as bad a shot as I had been when I was novice." Esme smiles briefly upon the memory of her time in training. "Anyway, how are things on Ophelia VII? How are Anna and the Inquisitors doing?"

Filigree squeaks as you zap her, skittering off with surprising speed, hiding behind several stuffed creatures of old. Chloe was already leaning against a wall, rubbing her temples. She already seemed better though.

The Canoness cracked a grin. "Oh... Morale is low, several more dead sisters... Nothing has gotten in for long though... Oh! And Anna is awake. She's certainly not stable yet, but she is awake."

The food, as disgusting as it is, makes you feel a lot better, restoring some of your strength.

Galatea nodded in approval, the look on her face serious. "The twins told me what the avatar said... and I can scarcely believe it myself. I am not entirely sure what it meant but if I had to guess, you're going through perils of the warp Esme. Your faith in the emperor is what guided you to his power. If this is indeed true, the moment you let go of your abilities, or if the energy reserve you tapped runs out, you're going to lose all of your power. I doubt the emperor would forsake you and deprive you of the power you require to complete this task, but don't overexert yourself. Our lives are insignificant compared to the task at hand."

Watching bemusedly as the daemonette scampered off, I am surprised that I feel a little bit bad for zapping her.
Elizabeth was right, her cuteness was much more dangerous than her seductiveness.
I listen intently to the Cannoness' words, and smile in relief.
"Then I am not tainted by the warp?" I ask hopefully.
What Galatea said also worries me, though, and I ask,"Do you have any idea how large this resivoir is? I would like to have an idea of how much I should be using."
The news of my Sisters encourages me, and the pressing need for speed lightens a little.

Filigree cautiously creeps back over, her one lighting claw crackling softly.

Both Chloe and the daemonette seem to pause at your question. Filigree is first to answer. "Nah sugarbuns. Feels about as stand alone as any other of the gods' realms..."

The Canoness smiled, patting you on the pauldron gently. "Trust in the emperor Esme. He will make sure you are not wanting for power."

Filigree thought for a moment. "I honestly have no idea where the chaos god may lie. Its different for each of the four."

    Alright, I'll kick this off.
We are going to need to keep Filigree back from throwing herself into combat. She's impulsive, reckless, and we are screwed if she gets killed.
As for Chloe, we are just going to need to keep her behind a wall of armored bodies. Keep her in the center of the group, maybe have Filigree stick with her or something.
As for the power, we probably want to get rid of Chloe as quickly as possible. We are burning a lot of power to keep her shielded, so the more daemons the better.

Galatea trotted after you, half-dragging Chloe along. "LEAST creepy? That's... horrible. Where else have you been?"

You come quickly to a locked door, Filigree puffing out her cheeks. "Oh let me..." She began hunting around, picking up little scraps and splinters of metal. She was probably going to pick the lock. "You may want to heat the door a little Hotcakes. That way it wont be frozen shut."

As she finishes talking to her canoness, the Exalted Martyr carefully places one hand against the door's lock and concentrates on keeping it from freezing while expending as little of her power as possible.
"Oh, don't worry - I'm sure people will propose doing the same to your Inquisitor soon enough. So her displeasure would only be - temporary. Anyway, IF you could consider to stop calling any of us by such lovely names, I might consider intervening on your Quizzy's behalf. As an added bonus..."
Esme leans down and whispers "I might even stop to entertain my fantasy of you alone in a room" pausing shortly, and then getting ever so close to the daemonett's ear "with canoness Florencia and saint Evangela. I doubt even you could enjoy that?" while the daemonette's busy picking the lock.

"You're false emperor may rescue you quickly. Slaanesh is lazy and will procrastinate and leave me in torment for several hundred years. So i'll call you whatever I damn well please my Delicious Juice-Box."

    The lock clicked.

I give Chloe a reassuring half-hug, and make my may into the room.
Who knows what stupidity that daemonette was up to, keeping her alive was going to be a chore.
As I swiftly move after Filigree, I throw a quick comment over my shoulder to Chloe ,"Once we find that entity, I will send you back. Just hang in there."

Chloe shrunk back a little, shaking her head. "No... I can only sense others. This circuitry is specifically designed to block everything else."

You smiled at her, wrapping more of your aura around her. She took a deep breath, relaxing slowly. "Thanks..."

You heard a loud crash and a shout from the other room. You dart inside to check on Filigree. She had accidentally knocked over a large brass pot like thing. She was nudging it with her foot. "Oops..."

You weren't sure if the crash attracted any attention or not but nothing seemed to be attacking you yet.

Galatea sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of her nose.

Do you think you and Filigree could stick together. She can sense the warp better, and well, you can stop her from making a potentially lethal nuisance of herself."
She looks over the surrounding environs with her dataslate, moving forward, looking for some clue.
"Above everything else, don't get separated." She says. "Creatures here can mimic forms. And there are other things that move invisibly." She turns to Chloe. "Which way?"

Filigree pouted for a moment before moving to the back of the group. "This just means I get to oogle at your shapely rears as we make our way through this place." Her trademark grin seemed almost smug. "At least its some compensation for being denied an opportunity to use my stealth and speed."

Galatea watched Filigree with distain, gently moving Chloe in front of her, away from the daemonette. "Actually, Esme, Galatea is my last name. As a full battle sister, we may choose which name to use... That and 'Canoness Mellitus' lacks the ring that 'Canoness Galatea' has." She chuckled weakly, proceeding with caution.

Chloe glanced around the room. "I don't sense anything else... We're alone. Though it... made it a little harder now that you've strengthened the aura around me."

Filigree crept silently over to another display, jewlery this time, pressing her nose against the glass. "Oohhh... Wow... I've got to remember this design..."

I walk over and grab her by her ear, a drag her along with us, saying, "Maybe if you do well and behave we can pick those pieces up on our way back. Deal?"
I try the name out,"Mellitus...it has a nice ring, but I think that Galatea suits you better."

Approaching Filigree, Esme carefully inspects the display case. If she's sure that there are not any functional alarms attached to it, she uses her power claw to carve a circle in the material above the piece of jewelry.
The Exalted Martyr brings the item close to her face, inspecting the beautiful piece of craftsmanship. "An incredible item, and think of it - if we manage to win, this whole realm will be destroyed, making it possibly the only one in the universe. Crafted with techniques forever lost - forged to symbolise something never to be know again. Just imagine what a skilled artisan could discover... but who would know to value such a thing?" As tries to appear in deep thought, she sincerely hopes that Filigree will take the bait.
"I think we can work out a deal..." this time it's Esme who allows herself to display a smug grin. " I'm Esme, that's Canoness Galatea" each time pointing at the respective person "and that's Chloe." finishing the sentence with her hand directed towards the psyker. "The better we work together, the faster we'll get this crap over with." The Exalted Martyr lets her shoulders slump slightly. "I've been her for what feels like an eternity. I think you might understand that I'm not in the best mood for your antics."
Just as Filigree turns to leave, Esme places a hand on her shoulder - careful not to burn the daemonette with her auro. "You know, I think you might be a bit stressed if you were to be in my position as well. I doubt -whatever- you usually do to relieve your frustration would work i... if there was a realistic chance that you would never see Delessa again, right?" Esme lets go of the daemon and starts moving towards the rest of the group again. "So bear with me, I hope you understand."

Filigree shook her head. "Nah... It's riddled with this chaos god's power. Caramel already has her dandelion with teeth. I'd rather not drag any more of its essence into the real world." She smirked up at Esme. "I mean, purifying them would be appreciated, but intend to copy it anyway. If you're trying to buy my obedience, it's... a step in the right direction. You'll need something a little more unique to really sway me."

Galatea helps you search the area. You find several ancient weapons and several more modern weapons including a multimelta, several plasma weapons, and a rocket launcher. They were all in relatively good condition, though, for safety reasons, their firing capabilities had been compromised when they were put on display. You had no idea how to fix them.

Filigree trotted over to you, forcing herself between you and Galatea, looking down at the half frozen instruments of war. "Oh! Is it fun time already?"

Looking over the admitedly impressive aresenal in front of me, I remembered Allessa's obsession with her plasma gun.
With that kind of ability, coupled with Fortran's technical knowledge, we could probably get these guns up and running.
I turn to Chloe, "Once we find this entity that you sence, we will send you back with these. I'm sure the Sister's back on Ophelia could use these, and we might be able to bring one on our missions."

Filigree laughed "Pfft... no. Do I look like a fething mechanic to you?"

Galatea picked up the multimelta, scraping some of the ice off. "They would be no use to the sisters back on Ophelia VII. I'm no gun expert but even I can tell this is probably a half hours work at least. And with the time lapse between the worlds, it would be most efficient to fix, load, and bless them here before taking them back. Alessa did. I think we have run into a situation where we have the wrong party.

She seems very passionate about guns. It might be best to, now that she's gotten a small taste, swap out Chloe for Alessa real quick so that she can fix the guns. Just tell her that there are big shiny things of mass destruction and I bet she'll rush back drooling.

I nod in agreement, and scoop the weapons into my arms.
"These are far too valuable to be destroyed. Let's bring these back to the breach in the god's realm, and we can bring Allessa and possibly Fortran back to fix them."

Filigree scampers off, checking random things. Her lash extended with a rather disturbing sound, picking up various object so she could examine them. She was completely ignoring you.

You bring the weapons back to the tear in reality, holding your hand out for Chloe, telling her to ground herself in the materium for a few minutes while Alessa fixed the guns.

Chloe nodded, looking a bit relieved for the momentary respite. The initial appearance in the realm had been an enormous shock on her senses.

You set down the weaponry and send her back with a message for Alessa, stepping into the crack, waiting. It takes an unusually long time for Alessa to appear, shoving you to the side. She still looked exhausted and a little annoyed.

"Revolving door... Wonderful... I hope you have a really good... reason..." Her eyes widened to saucers as she saw the weaponry, her mouth opening and closing a few times. "Is that what I think it is?" She rushed over and picked up the rocket launcher, running one gauntlet over it. "Oh yes... The craftsmanship... Only made in the era... Hehehe..." She was nearly foaming at the mouth as she examined each gun in turn, ending with the multimelta. "Oh sweet emperor... this was made before the restrictors were mandatory... It's beautiful..."

You make a mental note to keep Alessa away from the armory if you get out of this alive.

(yes you can turn invisible. it'll be a little harder in the warp though)

Filigree put down the jewelry she had picked up. "A stroll? A stroll to where? I wanna see the animals! The ones they stuff and put on display! I like taxidermy. It's art!... With corpses!" She hopped a few times. "Corpses and warm fur pelts and cute animals with big teeth!"

She whirled to face you. "Or maybe we could see the paintings! I'm sure some survived! Oh... I could never paint! I'm no good at it! It's too messy and the smell of the paints makes me sneeze and..."

She continued to ramble, kicking a small chunk of rubble at her feet.

Alessa gave a shout of triumph. "HA I think I got it!" Before you could tell her to stop, she picked up the multimelta and fired.

The beam was a lot bigger than the multimeltas you had seen previously and pulsed slightly with instability. It punched a huge hole through the wall, setting several paintings alight, destroying several artifacts, and severely damaging the wall of the neighboring building.

"HA! I knew it! No flow restrictors! This will burn through ammo quickly but I DON'T CARE! It's too beautiful to NOT use!"

She was grinning from ear to ear as she set it aside, working on the lascannon next.

Galatea glanced in the direction you had referenced. "Alright. Once she finishes with the lascannon we can-"

"DONE!" Alessa held up the fearsome weapon, grinning from ear to ear. "Test shot!" She had aimed and fired out the hole in the wall before you could so much as voice your objections. The powerful blast lanced out, punching a hole clean through the neighboring building.

"Huh... Must have the alignment wrong. That was nowhere near powerful enough..."

The canoness gently takes the gun from her, much to Alessa's objections. "It's fine sister... Lets just... send it back... The other's could use it! Yeah..."

Alessa crossed her arms. "Fine... But I'm keeping the multimelta!"

Just as soon as I got the heavy weaponry out of Allessa's hands of course.

You very carefully take the weapon out of Alessa's hands, giving a rough overview of Delessa's hilariously heretical choice. Galatea chimes in when she needs to, the daemonette in question slinking over, eyes glued to the floor. She was walking along one of the ornate swirl patterns covering the floor, bumping into Galatea before skirting around her, continuing on her path.

You lay your hand on the multimelta and lascannon in turn. Instantly they sparked back to life, all signs if age evaporating from them.

Filigree sighed, slinking away from you, clearly still upset. She'd get over it the moment someone waved a ring of keys in front of her face...

Alessa glanced up from her work. She was already putting the enormous weapon back together. "Oh. I'm done. Rocket Launchers aren't as difficult as lasguns and meltaguns. Fewer parts inside them." She finished assembling it, carrying it over for purification like the others. Almost immediately she went for the multimelta, attaching the huge fuel tank to her powerpack and lifting the behemoth of a gun. "Ready."

The weapons vanish quickly and you head out, Filigree trotting to the front despite your previous instructions to stay back.

The next room is not as large as the first, and a small portion of the roof had been broken in, causing ice to cover a sall part of the room. The Daemonette hops lightly to the top of an exhibit, looking around. "Nothing yet... Though I do feel rather uneasy about this whole thing. Something is psykicly off about this place. I mean other than it being a realm of chaos and all. I don't like it. It makes me all tingly... in a bad way..."

You begin checking the display cases as Filigree bounds over to the door. The cases contain relics of the past. Carved statues of stone and metal and gilded decorative weaponry. One case in particular catches your interest. It contains a much older pattern of battle sister armor, as well as some of the older space marine designs and even a couple sets from the sisters of silence.

You leave it be for now, moving over and examining the ice. It must be 7 or 8 feet thick at the very least. If there was anything important behind it it would take some time to get through.

The vehicles didn't seem too damaged, but they were clearly nowhere near working order.

Filigree managed to sneak up on you again, putting her chin on your pauldron. "It's frozen shut. I can't tell if its locked.

Galatea and Alessa cautiously approached the vehicles, checking them one by one. They don't seem to find anything of importance, though Alessa attempts to loot a few mechanical components before Galatea makes her leave them.
