Alright, /tg/, let's swap stories of horrible experiences.

Games that seemed okay but turned out horrible. I'll go first.

    >Kamen Rider based game
    >Expect justice and fun times
    >Suddenly yuri loli sex orgy party everywhere
    >What the fuck, I didn't sign up for this shit
    >Railroads everywhere, and not because of Den-O
    >Anybody not participating gets shafted. Hard.

Should've gotten the hint when the DM started introducing DMPCs, I really should have.

Not in the good way. As in, you roll a crit and nothing happens kinds of shafted.

No, it was done in a Mutants and Masterminds 2e game.

The bad thing was that the mechanics had been thought out and well planned... untill the entire thing was declared freeform because everybody that ended up being a horrible player couldn't be bothered to take a look in the rulebook.

Alright, I have one from a couple months back.

    >Playing with a newish group of people at my college.
    >Decide to make a DnD game and everything is going alright for 2 weeks.
    >A chick is suddenly introduced into the game by one of the players.
    >1st session with new player normal
    >2nd session, begin to notice that most quests/item finds are centered around chick's character.
    >3rd session, chicks character is magically the same level as us and has better gear.
    >4th session...wait there is no 4th session. One of the people from the group tells me the games canceled.

Find out that the chick was giving the DM blowjobs and apparently asking for things that she wanted her character to have. At least that is what was told to me. The guy that introduced the chick to the group ended up getting into fisticuffs with the DM, which is why their was no 4th session.

Well, as far as I can tell, it seemed that the chick pretty much offered a blowjob for some extra gear. I was mostly trying to stay out of it, because I really didn't care about any of the people playing too much. Except for my friend, I didn't know any of them I didn't really want to share this because I know that at least one of them goes to /tg/ but fuck it, I don't even see any of them anymore.

The last campaign I ran at uni ended up as one of these.

    >running 24 in steampunk Russia
    >multiple factions launch a coup
    >players trying to find out how killed the premier
    >alien artifacts
    >is totally awesome

Eventually it turned into a shitty game where nothing happened. I made the mistake of rewarding a player with the top political position at the end of the coup scenario. Everyone liked the game so much they wanted to continue, but the premier's player was kind of a douche. Beyond him bending (and eventually outright breaking) the rules to get more and disadvantages (and so more charisma points) the game got really fucking stale and shitty. It ended up pretty aimless. I wanted to do a Lovecraftian conspiracy but it never got going, and I kept trying to introduce NPCs to act as mentors or quest-givers but they usually ended up dead (the premier's player started to resent anyone with equal or greater authority to him - he eventually declared war on a posthuman intelligence). The premier's player starting killing or marginalizing the other PCs. I lost FOUR players before I realized how shit things had gotten. That's another story though.

So that's my failgame. Such is the fate of all first-time GMs.

Fuck you, there was level 36 Vampire Vincent Valentine. THAT IS WORSE.

Also, there was a city that had guards on the walls every 5 meters. One of our players calculated that a city of that size would have to mobilize every single male in the city to do that, but the GM ignored it. For some reason, he thought it more exciting for us to enter the city through a little locked wooden door built into the back end of the city walls.

Then there was the city elder who pretended to be a big slave trader but was actually an anti-slavery activist (in this setting, slavery was legal and was a protected right in this empire of city states). We were helping escaped slaves so we pretended they were ours and talked about how much we loved slavery ('cause we were having dinner with a big time slave owner!) and he fucking ATTACKS us at the dinner table because we're "slave holding villains".

So much stupid shit in that game.

It possesses the power to destroy games. It might raise your level, it might summon the personification of Death himself to kill you (now that I'm looking at the rules for the Deck, I can't find that card, but the GM insisted that was one of the cards).

In my case it destroyed all the magical items I was holding. Since I wasn't carrying any items (I was a junior copper dragon), my GM ruled that it destroyed ALL of my characters possessions in his stronghold. It also gave me the 'automatically raise your level if you beat the next encounter'. Since we were fighting an unkillable pheonix, we could not win so that card was wasted.

This was my first encounter with a Deck. It was lying, pristine, in the ash ruins of a city Mage's Guild that had been attacked by the dark pheonix. Fuck the Deck.

He was named Vincent, and he was dressed exactly like Vincent Valentine. He liked to sit on rooftops and brood about how the world didn't understand him. The other sparklepires thought he was a renegade, but he actually had a heart of gold (or so we were told, actually he was a massive arsehole to everyone and did more damage to the PCs than the bad guys). In one quest we were looking for a monster that was attacking people, and he just jumped down onto the street and just stood there. Just stood there looking at us. OOCly confused at this, we tried to excuse ourselves and walk past, but he "threw us back" and knocked my character out in one hit (no dice were rolled for any of this). Then he tossed out some cocky line about how we "weren't strong enough", jumped over a house and left. It was almost too surreal to be rage worthy. Almost, but not quite. We yelled at him after the game and Vincent only appeared once after that (literally falling out of the sky to beat up an overlevelled monster for us).

I eventually stole the GM's group and we had an awesome Dark Heresy dungeon crawl through an abandoned hive city. I parodied the Chaos Space Marine bossfight with an invasion of Necron warriors who turned out to be primitive aliens who were just imitating the Necrons because they had also been tricked into uploading their minds into machines by a mysterious intelligence (hinted in game to be the Outsider, but never explained). It was a great game, so in the end I guess we all got something good out of our shitty GM's game.

Oh, and it got progressively worse.
At first, it was just a sideplot, we figured. So, well, a GM dragging his fetish into the game on the side shouldn't be too bad as long as he can differentiate it from the plot.

Then it started focusing on it. But, at least they kept it in seperate channels or blackscreen'd it, and we still had some cool plot.

And then they started bringing into the safe-for-work channels and the fun rating went down faster than the Twin Towers.

My experience with D&D in general has been pretty awful, but at least while I was gaming with VAMPIRE VINCENT VALENTINE one of our other players was a monk specializing in improvised weapons. Even though we were only level 2, it made it all worthwhile.

The other characters were a slutty gold digger elf (played for by a normally ultra-shy girl specifically to troll the GM and his obsession with moe) and a half-dragon whose eyes change colour with a +6 level adjustment. I'm not entirely sure HE was trolling the GM, but that's what he says he was doing now.

Term got kicked out because he was better at freeform than other players. This got them all up in a hissy-fit and they bitched at Nazca before he got kicked out. Him not giving in to Nazca attempting to bribe him with overpowered mid-season upgrades into following the railroad plot didn't work either.

Nazca brought his fetishes into the game, and rewarded players who did the same thing with story arcs and other rewards showcasing how super special snowflake their PCs were.

Untill now, I've pretty much been hanging in the background and showcasing my support for Term every once in a while. I did enjoy the reveal of me being... me, way too much, though.

Okay, in one of the campaigns I played in all the women in the group kept trying to make their characters into whores, and it made me feel really uncomfortable to be honest, I don't like getting together with 9 or so people to enact sexual perversions.

Mind you I never complained, but it really made me hate them, and the other guys seemed to enjoy it in their own way, even if they didn't have the balls to join in.

Honestly? I think that if this is happening in your party, it's not solely to DM's fault as the players are the ones playing into the situations, and if you're not playing you shouldn't really be there anyway, so it was probably for the best.

It seems pretty straight forward to me. You tech until you are more tech'd than every other country. Then you rape shit with that tech until everyone else's tech is a sharpened stick.

Then you replace that stick with a dildo and tell them to all slap each other with them while you keep teching to make sure the non-techs don't get out of line.

    >>13801881

Just finished a conversation with the OP. Ended pretty well, I think. D: But in any case, I'm fine with being outwitted. The fact was he was imposing his sense of superiority by roleplaying AGAINST other PCs that were supposed to be on his side. And they were expected to be a team. I've no problem about someone being better than me, but if he continuously uses his talent that it turns sour for everyone else but him, then there's a problem. One I've tried MANY times to fix by talking to him.

But sure, I'll just take the butthurt flag. It seems easier that way because I'm disappointed with myself about not having the experience to handle this better. If I did, the game roster would still be complete.

I gave it the ol' college try and doing the diplomatic stuff that I heard GMs have to learn in order to play a game, you know. Looking back at it, I took it really seriously, to the point that I had to walk myself to the ER next door because I was having palpitations at work. I also got reprimanded for doing this during a board meeting.

I admit I stink as a GM, so feel free to avoid any games I've advertised here like the plague. Seriously, you will not have a good time.

And damn, teching up now. Never steer me wrong, /tg/!

Solar Exalted game. Most of the group are newbies, lured in by the GM by promises of awesome story potential, power to influence the game world and whacky combat.

Grimderp on 40k level ensues. DICKWOLVES EVERYWHERE, every NPC is a GMNPC stolen from either a FF game or DMC that is always more powerful and more "ohsoawesome" than the PCs are allowed to be. Any attempt to be competent is met with cries of OMFG POWERGAMER MUNCHKIN HAX CANOTT DO by the GM.

And then I got to read some of the Exalted experiences other people had. Which made me /ragequit and look for a GM who wasn't an assburger.

On the weapons thing everyone went really paranoid last session because they're certain their next mission will involve them being demolished by Chaos Space Marines (there are no Chaos Space Marines, but they are going to wipe out a rebellion on a lost frontier world called the Knights of Horus). So the group spent a whole session making deals with some potentially heretek Mechanicum and kitting out the crew.

Okay, it was never explicitly stated, but I think was actually a clone of Peter. The Biblical Peter. He held the final BBEG down long enough for Longinus to destroy the Omega Regalia, remember?

It can mean, variously, either increasing the ability of either the speaker or the listener at a given task, e.g. "Man, you need to tech up your trolling skills," or alternatively, a simple substitution for "U Mad?". More meanings might emerge as the thread progresses. Furthermore, we've added Over Tech to the lexicon, which seems to be a more extreme form of Tech Up and used in a similar fashion.

Okay, a summary- From memory, my bad, I've forgotten a lot. If the guy is still in the thread, feel free to correct me.

The players are members of Project: BLACK MERCURY, a covert- And possibly Church-funded- organization that hunts vampires, known as 'Chiropterans' in this setting. Chiropterans are horrible, bestial creatures that can 'compress' to a human form to hide their identity, a lot like 555's kaijin. They reproduce almost by accident- Sometimes, when they drain a victim, the victim gets back up as a Chiropteran, and goes on a killing spree until sated. Others have very bizarre powers, like pyrokinesis, flight- But most have superhuman speed and strength.

To counteract this, BLACK MERCURY has commissioned a trio of Rider Regalia- The Dio, Kerebos (It's spelled with a 'K' in the logs) and the Longinus Regalia, which are all Rider belts. They can only be used by humans with a rather genetic identifier, and are like military equipment, in that you need a lot of practice and training to use it to full potential. Also, as a quirk, only humans can use the Regalia. Failsafes cause Chiropterans to combust, messily, as their tainted blood sets it off.

We are introduced to the three members- Dio is a first-generation clone (Possibly of Judas Iscariot?), with a jetpack- He fights with two electrified batons. Kerebos is a relatively new recruit, who was a police detective until he uncovered the conspiracy, and was 'brought in'. His armor has super-speed, and he fights with what are basically 40K lightning claws. Longinus is a career soldier, and a company black ops man. He has an articial arm that appears to be like Alex Jensen's, to replace the one he lost when fighting the Wyvern Chiropteran (It was melted off by it's acid.) He has a genocidal hate for their species, and fights with a flechette launcher/glaive called 'The Nail'.

Of course, each one has their own 'thing'. Dio usually undergoes a battery of tests, and has been mentally 'reset' each time he steps out of line- Or possibly replaced with another clone with the same template. He's also the subject of Project: Magadelene, which mass-produced clones of him to use the Helghast (Dio), Samson (Longinus) and Orpheus (Kerebos) Regalias- scaled-down versions of the original three prototypes.

Longinus is actually a double-agent for a group known as the Bascilla- They provided him with the (painful) genetic treatments for him to be included in the Rider project. He still passes information to them, and has several features (Like a code key, and a tracker) in his artificial right arm. He's been provided with (placebo) pills to prevent degeneration.

Kerebos doesn't have the same baggage as the other two, but he's something of a lady's man. He eventually falls in love with a girl named Rui Lee, who's a second-generation Chiropteran; That is, she's a human/Chiropteran crossbreed. This is significant, because BLACK MERCURY has no idea that Chiropterans can 'breed true'- It's unknown how much of the population might be infected, and explains why there have been multiple outbreaks over the years. They actually stay 'dormant', until a sufficiently traumatic trigger event. This is a very bad thing.

The first significant mission involves the PCs intervening, to protect a courier carrying the fourth Regalia- The Orga Gear- from a Chiropteran attack. In it, Longinus shows that all you need is Mighty Strike and righteous fury, Kerebos that super-speed is still an awesome power, and Dio that Autofire on your main attack doesn't help if you can't roll high. The Orga Gear, however, is fatally flawed- It appears to be universal, but when activated, it functions normally for a number of round = the user's CON, before the user goes on an unstoppable killing spree. (It's also actually the *first* Regalia- The others are reverse-engineered for it.) Like a 555 Belt, it was explicitly meant for a Chiropteran user.

The PCs find this out the hard way, when the 'field test' of the Orga Gear goes terribly wrong, killing a beloved NPC, and forcing them to intervene. The Orga Gear is also a match for all three of them, and forcibly removing the Gear kills the human user.

Things come to a head when the BLACK MERCURY facility comes under assault by a literal horde of Chiropterans, with the help of sleeper agents in the facility's midst- Lead by a Category Alpha creature- The Wyvern Chiropteran and his 'brood', who lay waste to the overmatched defenders. Despite a valiant defense, the PCs are forced to flee on their SARG-1 Rider Support vehicles. The next few sessions have them on the run, guided by Longinus's contact, Iago- Who leads them to the Bascilla. It's revealed that the Bascilla specializes in a very specific field- Genocide.

The Bascilla is aware that Chiropterans can breed true, and have been systematically eliminating people, families, and whole villages which are suspected of Chiropteran taint. They're also implied to be funded by the same backers as BLACK MERCURY, due to their similar equipment and gear. Just to make things worse, now that the BM facility has been co-opted, a citywide quaratine is imposed- The players have to clean up the mess, or the nuclear failsafe will be deployed, when the situation becomes untenable, to purge the taint.

The next few missions have the PCs deployed first in desperate running battles, then in search-and-destroy sweeps of targets, clashing multiple times with the Chiropteran leader's hideously powerful enforcers- It's revealed that...All right, I'm not quite sure about this part. It's either:

    a) The Chiropterans have synthesized an infectious compound, allowing them to spread the love 'en masse'.
    b) The compound 'awakens' second-generation Chiropterans who are still dormant, and leaves the suspectible to mental influence.

Or both. The compound is being distributed as discreet innoculations, and a street drug. Mysterious murders (With the victims drained of blood) and frenzied, chaotic riots begin to break out in the city, as things begin to crumble. They're put down brutally, but the number of Chiropterans are on the rise. While destroying one of the drug stockpiles, Kerebos rescues a girl, Rui Lee- I'm pretty sure she was doing compensated dating, at the very least, or was drugged and dragged in as a snack for later. She actually kind of reminds me, looks-wise, of Lunamaria.

However, their hideout is eventually discovered, and the Riders come under attack in a three-pronged ambush from mass-produced variants of their own armor. The battle that follows is savage- Highlights include Dio going absolutely berserk at the thought of being 'copied' again, dispatching six of his lookalikes in four rounds, Longinus ending up in a chainsaw duel with the Samsons, and Kerebos finding out that while the Orpheus Riders have superspeed, they're still no match for a SARG's firepower. Backed into a corner, Rui Lee's Owl Chiropteran form manifests itself, and she makes a valiant effort at shredding several mooks before she's badly wounded.

Fleeing to a backup safehouse, a furious argument breaks out between Kerebos and Longinus, with the latter pointing out that now she's reverted, it's only a matter of time before she becomes a complete monster like the others. Kerebos insists that she's innocent- That she was helping them- and that he's not going to stand aside and let him murder her. Dio takes no part in this argument, largely because he's recovering from a psychotic break- Realizing the artificial nature of his existence. He vows to kill every other copy of him, so that he can be truly unique.

In the calm before the storm: Longinus is furious that, all this time, Black Mercury had plans for artificial Riders- And that they, too, have been co-opted by Chiropterans. He realizes that they might be up against a literal army.

Kerebos keeps watch over a recovering Rui Lee- He feeds her his blood, in an uncomfortably arousing scene, made more so that she's wearing bandages and very little else; Teary-eyed, she confesses that she's terrified of becoming a monster, but she doesn't want to die- Not so soon after she's fallen in love. More than anything else, she wants more time with him- He reciprocates, and hugs her as the scene fades to black. (Fortunately, the 'infection' doesn't seem to be transmitted via the...usual vectors, of this would be very awkward.)

Longinus noticeably becomes very wary of Rui Lee after this. Eventually, after disrupting the supply of the drug, they discover that- Thanks to the partially echo-location derived senses of the Chiropterans- their nemesis plans to broadcast a signal, now critical mass has been reached, to forcibly 'awaken' all those already infected, and/or dormant, to spawn an entire army of monsters under his control, using the Black Mercury facility's communication's suite. To even the odds, the PCs plan to unleash a powerful EMP device, blacking out the city, before they mount a suicide assault on the heavily-guarded fortress, bristling with enemies of all kinds.

Their assault opens when the city is plunged into darkness- On their SARGs, the PCs use the transport network beneath the city to literally charge straight into the enemy stronghold, battling their way past swarms of Chiropterans, and hordes of second-generation Riders, dispatched directly from assault carriers and APCs. With his SARG destroyed, Dio switches to his jetpack instead, and ends up in a furious dogfight against the overwhelming numbers. Ultimately, they enter the facility by detonating the fusion core of their SARGs, to blast an entrance into the underground fortress.

Highlights: Longinus grappling an enemy off his cycle, and dragging the opponent along behind him, until the Rider disintegrated. Kerebos pushing himself to maximum speed, accelerating past a high-speed armored train, and destroying it by pulling a wheely off the cockpit. Dio using his SARG's 360-drive and thrusters to send his machine into a lethal spin, battering bodies aside from all directions.

Inside, the close-quarters battle becomes frantic and mad- To their horror, they find that some of their former allies have been converted to Chiropterans, too, which makes for uncomfortable confrontations. Longinus takes on his old instructor in a unpowered knife-fight, and ultimately winning by taking the knife in his shoulder, so he could stab the man in the throat.

Dio, meanwhile, finds the cloning vats within the fortress- And also the identity of his genetic 'donor'. He destroys the data without reading it, affirming that he is, now and forever, Kamen Rider Dio- The sole inheritor of the name and the legacy. He drains the vats, disintegrating the malformed copies of himself- Stating that he is not just *them*, but so much more.

Kerebos battles his personal enemy, the Lion Chiropteran- The two tear into each other like animals, in the reactor core of the base, leaping from girder to girder- Until in the final exchange, Kerebos Sunders the walkway they were fighting on, and bull-rushes the Chiropteran off, into the molten Core, to his doom.

Ultimately, they breach the final chamber, and encounter the Wyvern Chiropteran- Now armed with the Omega Regalia. With the might of Kamen Rider Orga boosting his powers, he's nearly invincible. The fight is merciless, but terribly uneven; He has Dio's firepower, Longinus's strength and resilience, and Kerebos's speed, combined with his Gigersque shapeshifting abilities- Like firing flechettes of bone, claws that bleed acid, *wings*, and breath that turns organic matter to ash.

Mortally wounded, Dio tackles Orga from behind- And with the last of his strength, pins him, just long enough for Longinus and Kerebos to destroy the Regalia with a combined, and old-fashioned, Rider Kick. Now reduced to his Chiropteran form, he's still deadly- But working in concert, the two Riders nickel-and-dime him to death. Longinus returns the favor by ripping off both of his wings, maiming him- Before the Chiropteran is killed, by being guillotined by a closing bulkhead.

However, immediately after the BBEG's defeat- Longinus turns on Kerebos, striking him from behind with the Nail. He states that Rui Lee has to die, to prevent a Chiropteran outbreak from occuring again- Kerebos, of course, has other ideas. On their last legs, the two men duel- With one fighting for love, the other for the survival of the species. Badly wounded by Kerebos, Longinus damages Kerebos's gear- Putting them both on equal footing, unable to transform.

Then it comes down to bare hands and the strength to strangle. Kerebos partially blinds Longinus, by gouging out his left eye with his fingers- Longinus used Improved Grab to Pin Kerebos, and throttles him to death with his mechanical right hand. The sole survivor, Longinus retrieves a pistol, and limps away from the burning ruins, as the overloaded reactor ignites the underground fortress.

Okay, I GM a game of Dark Heresy, and I'm trying to be a good GM. I feel like I've improved a lot since the first game I ran, but the players (three of them, in particular) are preventing me from running a campaign, and turning everything into a series of derpy one-shots... It's like they don't know how to role-play. The best role player in the group slept with the worst role-player's girlfriend (who is somewhere in the range of bad-but-getting-tech'd-up). I've known both the dudes for a long time, and I'd feel bad about dropping the bad role-player from the group, while keeping the magnificent bastard that is the best roleplayer, and maybe the girlfriend. But, I mean, I'd really like to run a good game. I can't do that with three of the players desecrating imperial property (techpriest, worst role-player), threatening to arrest said techpriest (arbite, derpy as FUCK), and looking for a job at the local tavern (moritat assassin, TP's girlfriend). While the decent role-player actually gets shit done, and is generally an awesome bro (I guess, witht he exception of shaving slept with the girlfriend once, and then not pursuing it any further).
I don't want my group to fall apart because of drama, but would like to show off the kind of campaign I am capable of running... but it's hard to do that without players who are equally invested in the game.
tl;dr, I think I'm the techest GM, but theres some drama and poor roleplayers keeping me form running a game the other players can enjoy, and it's always really awkward whenever we get together.
I want to tech up and roll out.

The poor-role-player and his girlfriend are steady, and the good role-player who may be getting tail left and right, but nobody really knows or cares, because it hasn't been with any of us, except the one time that is the source of the force preventing me form just not including the role-players that are dragging the game down.
If they were all filthy whores, this would all be much easier. Instead of DH, we'd just have giant orgies in the woods like normal people.

    >biggest achievement in an rpg is the time his half-elf space marine librarian used the Chaos Emeralds to achieve his super form and defeated SHODAN.

Been reading through this for the lulz, but... just, what the hell. I don't even know man. I just don't know...

    >Chaos Emeralds
Sounds like the fanfic one of my friends wrote where Vanilla got the Chaos Emeralds and got high off the energy

It was an insidious plan by Eggman/Robotnik (God knows which one it's going to be tomorrow!) to make a monster he could control. He left Vanilla exposed to Chaos Energy (through the Emerald, hidden in her cell) for hours and hours. Then, he just...let her go. No strings attached, or so it seemed. When she went into withdrawal and her daughter went off to get help, the first Chaos Emerald practically fell into her hands...

Then...she could feel the second one. So she went for it. Fuck I should just see if the fag will post it or if he even still has it.

It wasn't that bad; at the very least he tried to not be an immense faggot about pairings.

Fuck off already, you shitty emotion-using tripfag. Your butthurt over this thread laughing at your pathetic DMing skills and crippled sexuality is getting dull.
