Also, word of advice: Firestorm is Area 88 and Tomb of Horrors combined. Shit´s on fire, yo.

Aquila flight lost a Tiger II that fell into a flat spin and crashed, the pilot ejected but they did not hire CSAR.

Griffon... only suffered damages on one plane. Lucky fuckers.

Swart Katte lost a pilot with his Fishbed that failed the landing rolls AND the eject rolls, end result being the plane crashed and the pilot... also crashed, at the same speed while out of the plane.

Musketeers lost a Falcon to a lucky-ass Fishbed´s cannon, and a Tiger II to very bad landing rolls. The pilot of the Falcon is dead, the Tiger II´s is in a coma for the next three missions.


And all of those are the results of the first mission for each flight.

How does Combat Search and Rescue work in Firestorm? If someone get's shot down, is there a follow-up mission to rescue him or her? Would the helicopters have crews and people managing their finances?

All things considered, things went rather well for Griffin Flight's first mission.

Sure the pay wasn't as high as the other missions, and sure the profit was even lower after accounting for repairs, but we're all in one piece and managed to get a +1 to our reputation.

Also, Hojo is FINALLY gonna be able to join in. Now we just need to recruit our sixth member and decide on our next mission contract.

Note to all prospective joiners; FIRESTORM CORE is full up. We just can't fit in any more players; there are 18 active players in four flights, and about 8 more free agents all jockeying for slots. There is simply no more room.

That being said, there is always room for RP-centric characters - reporters, technicians, air traffic controllers, sleazy Sidewinder salesmen, etc.

There is an expansion to Firestorm in the works, at which point we can start to think about new players again, but that is still in the planning stages and some ways off.

Or, as before, if you're interested in making suggestions, watching, or heck, just talking about planes, you're welcome to come join too.

The purpose of the campaign is to aggressively playtest and eventually put together some sort of Planes & Mercs ruleset for public release. We could always use more GMs as well who are willing to try their hand at a play-by-post campaign.

One thing to note too is that most of the rules are focusing on modern jet combat. If there are any WWII or WWI early air combat buffs out there who'd like to contribute, we certainly could use the help in making the ruleset more versatile.

There have been a vicious number of munitions failures in Firestorm already. Really makes you regret not shelling out extra for that better Sidewinder...

Yeah, if you go AIM-9s at least try and dish out for the L or so. Skimping on ordnance just became a big no-no I think.

Better hit rates and probably saves money in the long run if you manage to stockpile some.

Also noticed Sabine is setup as a multi-roller who is also a bit of a scout but is shite at BVR missiles and likes Knife-Fights. I guess I need to make her sneaky as I can to close that distance.
