    Ten thousand years I have been the conduit of my Gods. I have been the furious Khorne, the indulgent Slaneesh, the duplicitous Tzeentch, the indominable Nurgle. I have marched men upon thousands of worlds and broke all who stood before me. I have dined on the flesh of Governors and torn asunder children before their families.

    Their hate, their hunger, I am their unnamed servant. They have rewarded me for my service with power unimaginable. Command of the Warp's minion, a twisted body of unholy strength, and dominion over countless slaves and soldiers. But they have dragged me from my eternal war to the depths of space to make me anew.

    Not a Daemon Prince, no, something greater. Befitting my foul corruption. While false lords and fools wage pointless Black Crusades I have festered in the void. My men roam the stars, dragging back to me countless slaves to build me now my new cocoon, of flesh and bone and soul.

    And I, at the center, connected to the teeming, screaming, masses stolen from their homes, erode their very souls and swallow whole that which they would seek to keep from me. Whole worlds shuffled away into the cavernous keeps of warped ships, brought to my floating cocoon to fuel my metamorphosis.

    Let Abaddon have his fool adventures. Let the lords bicker over their meager power. I have the favor of the Dark Gods.

    ++++Imperial Scout Report++++
    +++++Planetoid KN-452++++++
    +++++++CLASSIFIED++++++++

    On orders from the Inquisition,
    From the lips of the Emperor to my ears,

    I have scanned the sector as requested and I believe I have determined the source of the Warp energies present. It is obfuscated from any normal means of detection, but I have followed the wake of a marauding band of heretics back to a planetoid that we have designated KN-452. There are an incredible number of traitor ships coming and going from the region, I am surprised we did not detect them sooner. I fear what foul magics have kept this from our sight.

    I was incapable of landing, as the planet itself was quite small and teeming with the forces of Chaos. From our observation point we could not determine any singular base of command. It is possible, though unlikely, that this is some sort of congregation point for numerous legions. However only one legion seemed present, and if it is being prepared as the starting point for a new crusade we may have time.

    A strange phenomenon was observed with the construction on the planetoid. Many buildings seemed half embedded within the surface, some even entirely suspended in the air. We could not determine if the planetoid lacked atmosphere, but its size would indicate it would. It may very well have no gravity of its own and what we percieved to be buildings may be star bases.

    We have marked the planetoid for future observation but would advise against regular visits or any force. The only other option is extreme force as there are numerous ships which call KN-452 home.

    As is, however, this is one hornets nest would should leave alone.

Most of the colonists are either soldiers or part-time soldiers, but training is shit because a) it's a small close-knit group so they don't worry about internal problems much b) they over-rely on their gear (even the militia receive carapace armor, a bolt-pistol, a digi-weapon or power weapon of their choice and Best-quality basic las or stub weapon of their choice).

    Probably this planet was meant to be developed into an outpost/armory against a threat that never materialized, so now they're lower priority and slow growing, but the Imperium hasn't got around to redistributing the ludicrous weapon supplies.

    Makes sense. I would suggest that the atmosphere contains a very heavy hallucinogenic gas that moves in the rest of the atmosphere with something like tidal waves.
    Ok, now I think of diffusion... IDEA! It is constantly degraded and build anew (by local flora or volcanoes or whatever) so it doesn't disperse a lot. No, that makes it unable to move across the planet... Ha! It is build by algae floating through the atmosphere, following the moons or the sun or something like that. This algae also produce oxygen, so you cannot get rid of them.
