You, Tracie, Scot, Tom and Jared were on your way to Weisshaus to liberate and sabotage Council fighters and bombers when you stumbled upon a Council patrol in the Taiga, led by a Light Walker. A short firefight ensued and now the Walker stands inert in the cold night air, and three Council Orderlies lie on their knees, their hands tied behind their backs.

"Well, whatcha wan' me ta do wit' 'em Boss?" Tracie asks, pulling his pistol out and clicking off the safety.

"You can't shoot them!" Tom protests. "We're supposed to be in the right here, not them. They would shoot captured prisoners, not us!" He says pointing.

The three orderlies are underclothed and shivering. One of them is sobbing quietly, the tears freezing solid to his face.

"We can't take them with us. Make up your mind quickly, the sun will be up in 75 minutes." Scot says, scanning the woods around him.

"Jus' say th' word Boss." Tracie says, leveling his pistol on the back of an Orderlies head.

Pistol whip them though to knock them out.

    1) swap clothing with the prisoners

    2) use radio/comms in walker to radio base. Call in a rebel attack and ask for reinforcements, make sure to state that they are running off into the woods

    3) get in walker, head to Weisshaus, infiltrate after a bunch of people leave to respond to the distress call

    4) profit

    "Knock them out" You order.

Tracie takes his time beating them into submission. The loud cracks resonate in the icy forest. You ignore it as you outline the plan to the rest of the team.

"Three people on the walker. Three uniforms. Jared, Tracie and I will be on the walker. Tom and Scot, you follow at a safe distance, but close enough that if things go south, you can come in to help quickly."

There are nods all around as Tracie steps up and drops a wadded pile of clothes in front of you.

"Poor bastards are probably gonna freeze" Scot says. Tom only looks away.

You quickly pull on the uniform and scramble to the top of the walker. Tracie is already mounted on the chaingun, and Jared joins you a moment later.

"Just let me hook up to the Walker controls and I should be able to move this thing.." Jared mutters while rapidly typing on his keypad. Seconds later, the walker rumbles to life.

    "There we go!" Jared eclaims.

"Is the radio working yet?" You ask Jared.

"It is now." He keys a switch. "Talk whenever you're ready."

"Come in Weisshaus Garrison." You say into the radio while Jared finishes the boot up sequence on the walker.

"This is Weisshaus Garrison. Provide designation number." The radio says back.

You falter, but Jared says "Designation xc-11D."

"Confirmed. What seems to be the problem? You're twenty minutes early reporting in."

"Rebel attack killed four of our men. We managed to chase them off, but only barely. We're requesting reinforcements ASAP." You say, thinking fast.

    "How many hostiles?"

"At least 40." You await the response.

"Confirmed" The radio finally replies. "We'll send two patrols out your way. Sit tight and report anymore suspicious activity."

You switch the radio off. Tracie is grinning at you.

"You're a damn fine liar Boss." He says.

"Let's get this thing moving." You order Jared.

The trip there is much faster on the Walker, with Tom and Scot shadowing you in the trees.

Weisshaus is a chaotic sprawl. Modern housing in roads stand side by side with wooden shacks and dirt roads. Towering over it all is the 30 foot tall magrail.

"The Garrison is on the other side of the town, by the river." Jared reports. "The fastest route is directly through town. However, we could also flank the Garrison from the woods to the west, at the cost of time."

"Hell, we can handle anything tha' comes our way, can' we?" Tracie says, patting the chaingun.

"Wait, hold on. Looks like the river is deep enough for the walker to wade in. We could walk right into the garrison. But Scot and Tom would have to find another way in." He wrinkles his brow. "It's your call, Mr. Renard."
    >> Anonymous 03/06/11(Sun)17:13 No.14151664
Weren't we going to dress the prisoners in our clothes? It sorta sucks to lose cold weather gear but it's better than letting the poor idiots freeze to death, and using their uniforms will let us get closer to the enemy base with less suspicion.
    >> Anonymous 03/06/11(Sun)17:15 No.14151679
    >>14151659

Could everyone physically fit on the walker? Scot and Tom could be tied up using trick knots. They'll look like prisoners but at the first sign of trouble can pull the knots loose and fight as well as anyone else.

    >>14151664
I assumed you put the uniforms on over your clothes, but dressing them in your other gear would be fine too. Your choice.

    Flank them.
    >> Robert Tscharch 03/06/11(Sun)17:17 No.14151699
    >>14151679
The platform only has room for three people, and even then it's cramped. Scot and Tom could hold onto the legs or the side, but it would be a bumpy ride for them, and if fighting broke out, they'd be easy targets.
    >> Ace !1MOzOjRAAg 03/06/11(Sun)17:19 No.14151717
    >>14151688
Wait, no. Can the enemy recognize Tom and Scot as enemy combatants if they go through the town?
    >> Robert Tscharch 03/06/11(Sun)17:21 No.14151740
    >>14151717
The town is pretty quiet right now, since it's so late. Tom and Scot could easily hide in alley-ways or doorways to avoid being spotted, but they do have their guns, which makes them very suspicious.
    >> Anonymous 03/06/11(Sun)17:22 No.14151747
    >>14151684

We're trying to be better than they are. Those three guys will wake up with their heads hurting and nothing falling off from frostbite. They'll know full well we could have just killed them, or left them to die from exposure.

They'll remember that, and they'll tell their families about it. We save three lives here and it translates to 15 or 30 people or even more thinking that the rebellion is run by reasonable fighters who are not the utter monsters the Council says they are.

So let's sacrifice the gear, and win some ground in the propaganda war.

Or they could be loyalist dicks saying how they managed to "steal" the stupid rebellions gear in the middle of the night, showing how pathetic we are, and how great they are.

    >>14151740
Let's flank them. A walker going through water would look suspicious. A walker going through town would cause a ruckus. Flanking would be best.

Questions. Do walkers go through town anytime they want? How well can the walker operate after going through below freezing water?
    >> Robert Tscharch 03/06/11(Sun)17:28 No.14151803
    >>14151783
Walkers are part of the patrols here, so it wouldn't be TOO suspicion to any civilians up this late.

As long as the engine of the walker isn't submerged in the water, then the walker can continue functioning.

    Everyone agree on flanking?
    >> Anonymous 03/06/11(Sun)17:29 No.14151814
    Ace, shut up.

OP, seeing as the reinforcements we called for have left the town by now, how many soldiers are we dealing with here?
    >> Anonymous 03/06/11(Sun)17:30 No.14151835
    >>14151803

The town option with two "prisoners" seems like the best compromise of attention and stealth. Flanking may take long enough that the base gets suspicious about its patrol going missing.

Maybe 20 or so left at the Garrison. The rest were either sent out after you radioed in, or were already on patrol.
