It is cold, and dark; so you wrap your cloak, the good one, you notice, around your body. In the distance you can see the flicker of a fire, not small, though you doubt it was intended for more than five men. When you can see the campfire clearly, only one man is at the fire, though he looks to have camp for more than a few set. He is large, though not as big as Garagush, with wild red hair, and a well trimmed goatee "Ah, Justinian, welcome, have a seat and tell me what brings you here.

You drop down on one of the larger logs set about the fire before replying "I thought it would be best to speak with all of you while I had a chance, and you seemed, less than pleased with me when I last checked."

The fiery haired god laughs "Not angry, friend, simply curious, and concerned. It would seem that despite what resources you have available, you have yet to even the scales with this, Seventus character that so wronged your... lover now I suppose."

You sigh, before replying "As much as I love Sansa, and want that man punished for his crimes, I lack both the powerbase, and evidence to move against him without being slain for treason myself."

The god sighs, pulling a bottle from the pack beside his log, and drinking from it "Powerbases, rank, evidence... For a friend, a lover, none of this should matter. He wronged someone close to you, someone you would gladly die for, he deserves death or worse at your hands or hers, and the sooner the better. You have been lax in your duty as a friend." he is not so much admonishing you as philosophizing it would seem, though his words are harsh enough without a tone to match.

Woah. Careful. We don't want to get indebted to the gods.

Point out that Sansa would be sad if we/Justinian were to die, and that we've been pretty good to our lovers so far. Revenge will be taken when the time is right.

Resolve to pay more attention to our male retinue members / captains better as well.

You feel your face set, and as you reply it takes all of your effort to keep your features from dying "That bastard will reap his just deserts" you vow as calmly as you can, considering the topic "however, to directly confront the man, while simple, would end in my death, and leave Sansa in a position no better, if not worse, than her current one. And that failure is one I would never be able to atone for due to my, cadaverish state by the end of it."

The god finishes drinking, before replying "I understand, though I dislike the time it may take. The dish is well past cold, and may spoil before long. Aside from that discussion, was there anything else you wished to discuss with me?"
    >> Anonymous 03/20/11(Sun)22:35 No.14310288
We don't wish to avenge one friend simply to harm all the others who depend on us. We love Sansa dearly, but should we put retribution on behalf of her above the welfare of all the others who love and trust us? Above our men who will be slaughtered should they be reassigned to an old guard commander? We can't do that. We want /all/ of the people we care for to be hale and happy.

You shrug, before replying "Aside from whether or not I am in any danger from the other gods while in these realms, nothing, save for how your own re-entry into the realm of mortals is faring, I suppose."

The god of friendship and fire leans back, turning on his log to lay on it "Currently? nothing a particularly good healer couldn't handle over a few of your months, though in these realms the damage would be permanent. As to my return, it is progressing well enough, though I have yet to choose a first champion in this new age."

You nod "Thank you, and I wish you luck, however..."

Jogra chuckles again "For mortals time is an important currency I suppose." for a flash your mind feels engulfed in flames, then, normal again. " I will send you on your way to Neshai then, and I do hope you can find it in you to give even the less amiable of my estranged friends fair treatment should your plans grow to fruition. They were not always as they are now, and I sincerely hope that they will return to their right minds eventually."

Before you can reply you again feel the strange sensation of being moved to another dieties realm.

I think this and then there isn't really anything else to say. Based on what Jogra said about damage the gods can cause us, do you guys think we should avoid talking to Lamynus at this point? She's been angry at us for ages and hasn't had the chance to even attempt to vent her anger at us. Might be best to wait until she has had that chance unless we want to take a risk. Might not be a good idea in the middle of our campaign though.

Considering that it seems that on this plane, our soul and mind are open to direct attack, I think we should wait until we have enough favors built up with one god or another, who can act as a middle-man or mediator for us. "Of course not. However, our mutual interest in stopping this cult leaves you as one of the divine with whom my relationship is the healthiest and most professionally functional. Lamynus, however..."

"Since you asked about boundaries I may push, what of using ghosts, as you only punish them when they finally are sent to you, for flesh golems, or to power other arcana?"

The goddess laughs again, and the fear it stirs in you is even greater this time, matching the strength of the hags mirth "You already posess such an artifact, though some mage was kind enough to silence the blade at a later point. So long as the remains of no thinking creature is used for the golems, and the ghost is not used for a task it would enjoy, I have no qualms with such acts." you tilt your head, confused "A pacifist for a blade, a keeper of beasts for flesh golems, a warrior for some mundane item of utility. You shrug "Simply stopping through, perhaps making sure that my more... aggressive campaign did not anger you unduly."

The goddess sighs "It is, strange, to have a mortal acting so familiar with me, but... considering your intents I should not be surprised. As to how you carried yourself on that campaign, you showed no undue violence to noncombatants, and it is not lost on me how wars must be waged. Though, unless I am mistaken, you will be a very busy mortal fairly soon. And I have more suits of armor to forge, now that I have enough power to take the fallen heroes for myself, instead of needing to trade favors with Neshai for them." The goddess scratches her head, and you can feel her in your mind "Bold of you, and remember that I lover her as a sister." the goddess quips before sending you on your way.

You find yourself in a warm grove, lush with trees and flowers in their mid-spring glory, some of it visibly growing. The goddess rises from the small pond at the back of the grove, vines leap from the floor of the grove to her pink skin, covering her intimate parts, though nothing more, seconds after she is visible. Nyetini walks over to you, pushing her long auburn hair back behind her shoulders to rest at her waist "Justinian Trentz, how kind of you to finally come to visit me. Would you be so good as to tell me the occasion that finally brought you to my realm?" she asks in her light, songlike voice.

(no, not Justinian's cock, though that could be what is referenced at this point)

A mere peck on the cheek will do if I can say so myself, or perhaps the kiss of her hand. If she is willing, let her be the first to make a move.

As we speak I have a dear friend purchasing your lost temples from the previous age, and it is my desire to see them restored first, along with your sister Raynha's. Love and happiness are something that all should have, and I hope to see them flourish in this new age.

Perhaps, if I may be so bold, would you grant me a boon?"

Then move in for the kill! Err, kiss. I meant kiss. Use the line from before.

I plan to restore your lost temples from the First Age first, alongside your sister Raynhas... love and safety are things all deserve, after all." you pause, looking into the goddess' eyes. "And, you have my deepest gratitude." you add, sliding your arm around Nyetinis bare waist slowly and smoothly.

The goddess looks back at you, smiling, such a smile that the grove seems brighter, her eyes seemingly pulling yours into hers. Then, she plants a light kiss on hour cheek, and your whole face feels to be on fire "Oh dear, I seem to have stolen the words from your mouth... I'm so very sorry." she quips after you stand silently grinning for nearly a minute.

"No need to thank me. I look forward to the next time we can meet here." she smiles trailing her fingers along your back as she steps back from you.

You smile, and bow ever so slightly "As do I, and, perhaps, you will not so handily... steal my words, perhaps I will even manage a few of yours." you wink, and are surprised to find the gesture returned.

"It has been an enjoyable exchange, however, your love awaits you." she replies, putting a finger to your lips as you open them to ask which one, and as you fade away, so do her vines, though, once again, she keeps her secrets from you.

You awaken to the sound of Sansa polishing and honing her blades, reclined in your cot in naught bet her smallcloths. A few brilliant red lines show the recent work of life elementalists. "Daeseu is removing the corpses, two more blades came earlier tonight, the two of us handled them however." she takes a sip from your flask, wearing a predatory grin, for a brief second, all sweetness and love, save her eyes, still full of her subtle mischief as Rufus' eyes open.

The boy lights up red, his eyes screwing open as he fully returns to consciousness. "I- um, I" Sansa barely represses a laugh, and rolls out of your cot to don a robe.

"Work boy, and remember, your betrothed." she chides, patting him on the head as she kisses you, whispering into your ear "They came just after you started meditating, I saw you harden twice during the meditation... but dont worry, I'm here for you... after you've finished your work of course." and at that, she drops back into your cot, turns to face the other direction and goes back to her blades.

"Is it always like that, talking with her?" the boy asks after a brief silence.

We will need a time estimate for how quickly we can set up defenses at the iron mine.
Also, we need to see if Blackbird is back, so that he can be sent to confirm the enemy force size and target; this could be an attempt by the enemy to attempt to defend one site while they attack another.
