34 KB Heroes Unlimited Character New OP 03/27/11(Sun)06:29 No.14381022
Anyone up for rolling up another character for Heroes Unlimited? Using the revised 2nd edition.

If you're up to it, go ahead and let's roll some D6's for the base stats. 3d6 per stat. So go ahead and roll 9d6 for three stats at a time. If you get 16 - 18 in a stat, you roll another d6 and add it to the ability score.

    So let's roll.

    MA: 9
    PS: 14

Well I could go with this roll for the Alien's appearance if we wanted, but I figure I should go with rolls as they come for the categories. And as such, for his appearance, we've gotten:

    >>14381101
    >55
Humanoid Skeletal: Skeleton eyes and cheeks, very thin, long limbs, thin waist, and bony hands and body; skin may be soft and warm, or rough and hard, like bone. No body hair, although some may have hair on their heads.

Bonuses: +1 to PP, +1d6 to SPD, and has a horror factor of 9+1d6. The PB can not be higher than 8, so we'll bring that down. Well, we're Skeletor.

Horror factor, for those unfamiliar to Palladium's rules, comes into play when you see something, well, horrific. On a d20, you roll. If you roll over the horror factor, you're fine. Under, and you shit your pants.

I've rolled for the bonuses to our stats, so can we get another d100 for Physiological Modifications due to Unearthly Environments.

Aquatic World: The alien comes from a civilization that never left the ocean to walk on dry land, or has returned to the water where they have flourished. These aliens do not have to be fish like in appearance. They swim with 85% efficiency and a speed equal to 2d4x10.

Height: 6 feet plus 4d6 inches.
    Weight: 190 plus 4d6 pounds.
PS: +1 above water. +1d6 below water. This is a one time bonus that remains constant while below water.
SDC: +10 above water. +20 below.
Other: +2 to dodge underwater, can hold breath for 1d6x10 minutes (or might have gill, and can only breath above water for 1d6x10 minutes!), and has a depth tolerance of 2 miles.

Well let's save those bonus details for later and move on. Next is to determine super abilities for this alien. Let's roll 1d100 once more. Again, if it comes up on bionics, I'll skip on by.

Fuuuuuuu. That falls into being a psychic mutant. We could have 1d4 psionic powers from each of the categories, and 1 major super power. But man, psionic powers bore me, and going through the list of psionic powers and listing them for people to choose from will take forever. So you guys ok with rolling again and skipping psionics?

Alright, 4d100s. Let's do 1d100 per each post, please, so that one post doesn't decide it all.

Must be why he's a mutant, he DOESN'T have Psychic powers like the rest of his race.
Instead, new and strange powers not from the mind!
    >> New OP 03/27/11(Sun)07:49 No.14381454
    >>14381433
    First super power:
    Alter Physical Body.
The character can alter his body in small but significant ways. The change is instant and can be maintained indefinitely.
    Things that can be changed:
Finger prints. Copying someone elses' requires a good reference, and has low skill.
Can increase or decrease physical beauty 5% per level of experience.
    Change appearance of age.
    Change eye color.
    Change height.
    Change the spacing of teeth.
Lighten or darken hair (doesn't even have any, lol)
    Lighten or darken skin color.
    Add birthmarks.

Well, I don't think he could blend in with humans. But I'm sure it helped him escape his home world. Kind of wasted here on Earth, but who knows, if his species ever decides to examine or even invade Earth, being able to change his appearance could be a god send.
    >> New OP 03/27/11(Sun)07:50 No.14381456

    Second power.
    Heightened sense of hearing.
Well god damn, it seems we can't not make Abe here.

Instant changes.. this guy has animated character levels of facial expressions.
    >> New OP 03/27/11(Sun)07:57 No.14381503
And so we find our last two powers.

    >>14381462
    Energy Expulsion: Energy
The character can generate energy which can be released in directed pulses. The energy pulse or blast is fired from the finger tips, hands, or eyes (forms one beam/pulse). So he's got Cyclop's eye beams. Or fist beams? Finger beams? Whichever we wants.

    >>14381465
    Energy Resistance:
This power makes the character extremely resistant to all energy based attacks. No physical damage is sustained by the first 20 points of energy attacks in a melee round (a standard round of combat). Energy attacks beyond the 20 points do only half damage.

The character's resistance to energy includes fire, electricity, lasers, and most other forms of pure energy. The person is completely invulnerable to stun type energy weapons. Energy resistance is not effective against radiation damage, kinetic energy (punches, kicks, melee weapons etc), projectiles, explosive force, magic, or most forms of psionics.

And those are his powers. Now give me a moment to compile this totally not Abe alien.

Alright, details like his name and whatnot are for you to decide. I'm kind of tired, so I won't be doing anything after these next few posts, but if you guys want to do some write fagging to flesh out his back story (and a possible partnership with Finesse?), that would be cool.
    ____

This totally not Abe Sapien alien is from an aquatic world. His people look like *NOT ABE SAPIEN*, and have adapted to living undersea. This dude was just doing his thing, macking on the skeleton fish ladies, working as a race submarine driver or whatever, when he woke up one day and noticed his skin was scaly (as if it wasn't before), and his eyes were unusually round. Maybe he got bitten by a radioactive underwater spider or something.

These horrific changes made him an outcast on his home world. Luckily, he was able to change his appearance a bit, and this act of subterfuge allowed him to steal a ship and escape, his destination? Anywhere but there.

He found Earth, and on his way, studied the radio waves that were being sent off from the planet. By the time he crash landed (his ship being destroyed in the process), he'd learned a great deal about the planet.

Even his piloting skills couldn't save the ship, and so he was stuck there. Good thing he had some cash, and that this planet was fucking full of freaks for him to blend in with.

He could hear people coming for him(?) with his totally not lame super hearing, and fled out into the Canadian wilderness. He came face to face with a cyborg looking fucker who was scared of him as well, and tried to shock him. But hey, his electrical hands didn't do shit.

LOOK OUT! CANADIAN DUDES WITH GUNS SHOOTING AT THEM! Fish dude fires energy beams from his fists and blast those dudes away. Hopes he didn't hurt them. Cyborg dude tells Fish Man to follow him. I guess?
    >> New OP 03/27/11(Sun)08:05 No.14381567

I would have totally went for the Mental Blank backstory OP, all of his race are Psionic, but hes outcast because he is, 'weaker' than them, even though he can change his form any way he wants. just apply round eyes and scales to the skeletor race people.. I don't know, that's just me. It also would have given him a good way to sneak around- his brain waves aren't quite as... 'loud' I guess you could say, sense he cannot use psionics, so it would be like noticing a needle in a hay stack, when in a crowd of his kind.

I'd imagine the extra fishiness, even along with the minor appearance altering, probably ends up being just a bit 'off' to the rest of his find. He's like their Christopher Walken.
    Just.. unnerving.
