!!O+eQDn0BBx8 05/08/11(Sun)18:39 No.14859605Tissa has much more rapid success at the door than the magistrate, who takes being shoved aside as his cue to flee to the lower levels... only to be firmly rebuffed by the green-haired woman. A muffled “What do you want?” eventually sounds from the door at Tissa’s entreaties, Lann finally responding to the summons.
The following bargaining can best be described as tedious and uninteresting, and finally settles on Tissa, Magistrate Eman, and Inquisitor Maldive being allowed entry... on the condition that they bear no weapons and don’t touch anything. A quick word with the smiling man in brown as the Inquisitor removes myriad concealed and not-so-concealed weapons from his person, and they enter.
The door closes behind the newly entered trio and the wards seal themselves once more. Inside Lann and Liss sit on the bed next to each other, armed with drawn weapons and cooly appraising them. The three also find themselves surrounded by glittering runes on the floor and walls, not do mention several objects floating in slow semicircles around the door... marking off a perimeter.
“Stay where you are,” the girl says, “those things won’t do anything if you don’t try to move out of the circle there.”
Lann nods, “What do you want? We haven’t done anything or bothered anyone.”
“Actually, I’m afraid you have.” the inquisitor responds, eyes flicking across the myriad defenses and magical items throughout the room, “This has caused a great disturbance across the entire island and you have broken several laws. Magistrate?”
“Ah, yes. Disturbing the peace, magical use without registration, magical use without a permit, magical use above permitted scope, transport of E-class artifacts without a license, use of D-class or above artifacts without a license or permit...” he begins reading from the scroll, but the Inquisitor presses it down and silences him with a look. |
