    Anybody up for questing?
You are the heir of a simple blacksmith, who inherited his anvil and tools along with his knowledge to you, his only child.
Who are you? (gender and name, also roll a 1d20! higher rolls are good, but wacky names may get filtered out)

BTW, for the summertime folks, here's how to roll dice: write 'dice+1d20' without the quotes in the e-mail field.

You are Quin Fuller Smithsson, son of Bjorn Smithsson. Even though you are a girl, you always have a deep passion for the sound of red-hot metal on the iron anvil, and your dad saw your passion. He taught you all you know about smithing; When he died and your brothers left for the adventuring life, you decide to continue the family job.
Even though your family lived in a village, your dad appears to have quite a reputation, for at times you see nobles and adventurers from far away visit him.

As you wait for your first customer, why don't you describe yourself? (1d20)

From what you heard from him, you go to the mine, and you can either buy the metal from the miners there, or go down there yourself and mine, after paying a toll to the miners. The first method is less dangerous than the second, but sometimes the metals you want aren't there.

Do we stay (wait for more customer/have a drink in the village bar), mine, or something else?

You pay the guard of the mine 5 copper for entry, and in return he lent you a mining helmet and a small magic crystal that shines light in front of it. It's inset on the mining helmet, though. You wonder if you can get magic crystals in this mine.
Going down the stairs, you arrive at level 3's stairs, a guard standing by.
"Excuse me, mister guard? I'm here to clear the monsters from level three?"
"Ah, well, another one, eh? Currently there's an adventuring party in level 3."

You decide to strike a conversation with the mineforged.
"Hey there, fine lass. What brings you in this mine?"
"Ah, I'm here to mine some ores and clear the level, mister mineforged."
"I see. Call me Jim! I'm the one who does plenty of mining below level 2, since the bugs don't care about me. Anyhow, you're far more polite than that group of adventurers, they just went straight east, and I think the rogue wanted to steal a few ores from me."
"So, what kinds of ore are usually found in level 3?"
"Eh, mostly hematite, but sometimes you get lucky and find some bauxite. You also get some chalcopyrite in level 3 and 4."
    "How about magic crystals?"
"They're an elusive bunch, sometimes you find them under level 5. They say the farther you go down, the more diverse and powerful the magic crystals are."
As you chat, you also dig at the walls. Roll 1d20 to see what we got, along with next decision.

After some time clanging your heirloom pickaxe against the mine wall, you got some nice lumps of chalcopyrite. About 5 of them are stuffed in your pockets. Bear in mind that your maximum ore capacity is about 20, else you'd have to stuff them in your cleavage and it would feel bad. Not to mention the awkwardness. You make a mental note to bring a bag down here next time.

So, what else do we do beside mine? Some skittering can be heard to the west branch.

Yes, you can use the nearby smelter, but you pay for it.

You decide that 5 chalcopyrites are enough from here, and decide to check the skittering to the west. After some time walking, you encounter what looks like a female elf magician, unconscious on the floor. Must be one of the adventurers, you think. But then, you see a bigger than usual mineroach. Yeah. On topic I'm finding this quest interesting. has a feel very similar to an GBA game I played a while ago. You played a blacksmith in it and you basicly had to go questing for all your parts whenever you wanted to make stuff. Had a cool battle system where you could beat the enemy through either smashing thier weapon or beating them down the normal way.

But I agree with one of the earlier posters, we should probebly get a weapon, as well as a bag for carrying stuff.
