Well, pretty much everything Jesus said about justice for the poor is great fodder for this. Luke 4:17-21 is thus:

Don't forget the entire book of Luke, which has been called the social justice Gospel, and has Jesus turning conventional concepts of poverty and race on their heads (The Good Samaritan? For cultural context, imagine that the Jew bleeding in the road was a white guy in 1820's South, the guys passing him were rich dudes and preachers, and the guy saving him was black). Paul's also got some great stuff on the rebellion against the sin nature of the world in Ephesians.

As a kid I was taken to church every Sunday and all that. After having a bit of a vocal secular rebellious phase in my teens, I've mellowed out and think about this kind of thing a fair bit. I hope that I can give a bit of an insight to some more abstract reasons for a religious rebellion and evangelical points. In a way I'm sort of struggling with the whole religion idea personally but that's beside the point...

Forgive the capitalisation here... it's kinda necessary to make implications or emphasis.

Reasons for Evangelical Preaching:
- God tells you to preach The Word. (there are heaps of passages that say this, try google?)
- "I am right" or "God is right" or "I am Right" or "God is Right". These are just an act of faith. I don't think there is much more to it than that.
- Love. Having Faith in God is comforting etc. You want to share His Love with others.
- Hate. (Luke 14:26 New International Version: If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.). What this /can/ mean to someone is that, by preaching the Word to them, the preacher has doomed them to live up to Christ's standards. If they had never heard of Our Baby Jesus then they would have to live up to the Bible's laws. Other versions of the Bible have slightly different wordings that change the meaning.

Personally I think that last one is a very interesting one. The person can be greatly conflicted by preaching, because living up to Christ's standards is only barely possible or impossible. It's not meant to be easy, everyone is meant to constantly have their faith tested.
