    Continuing these.

    Summary:
    - Is a renegade chapter (originally Blood Dragons)
    - Serves Slaanesh
    - Fell to Chaos due to fighting Heresy with Heresy (turned to Slaanesh to avoid falling to Khorne)
    - Progenitor is the Blood Angels
    - Is thoroughly devoted to Slaanesh
    - Believes corruption above all and is willing to work with mutants/abhumans
    - Marines have freakish skin (most have raw, open muscles or porous skin that can absorb blood)
    - Marines are obsessed with getting close to their foes
    - Marines are skilled with ranged weapons and pray to Slaanesh before battle
    - Figure of legend is a champion/battle-brother who committed great atrocities on the Eldar (turned soulstones into wine)
    - Homeworld is a liberated prison planet with ruined forests and a distant rule
    - Combat Doctrine is Rip and Tear (although they still make use of lots of ranged weaponry)
    - There are no Sorcerers but there are still some psykers
    - Special equipment is unique daemon engines (The Mother)
    - Chapter reveres Slaanesh above all others
    - Has extra astartes but not too many (1500)
    - Ally is a pirate faction (Slaaneshi Rogue Trader dynasty)
    - Enemy is Orks or specific Waaagh!/Warboss (attacked their pirate buddies, may be Chaos Orks)

Right now we're finding a way to merge the history of this chapter with that of the Brotherhood of the Gaunlet. So far we're thinking the Blood Dragons were on Andalus trying to relax themselves and deal with the Black Rage/Thirst. When they fell to Chaos, they began corrupting the populous and so the Grey Knights/Brotherhood were sent to deal with them.

I was going for a porcelain feel to the armour but then I thought making it like raw-ish skin was a better idea or something.. and of course this particular guy hasn't been fighting recently so there's no blood anywhere

I like it. And colour consistently shouldn't be too big of a deal. The Slaaneshi do tend to favour uniqueness.

Not sure how I feel about Space Marine holiday camps. Wouldn't it make more sense that the two chapters had some history of kicking arse together, but the Blood Dragons began to use chaos weapons. Then it became sort of like a story about a drug addict: The Blood Dragons began to use more and more chaos weapons, while the Brotherhood of the Gaunlet tried desperately to save them before the chapter OD.

The Brotherhood, realising that the Blood Dragons had all but damned themselves, reluctantly called for aid from the Inquistion/Grey Knights. The Blood Dragons blame the Brotherhood for their excommunication, while the Brotherhood believe that destroying their former allies was the only way to save their souls from chaos.

I was actually considering that maybe they were sent to the planet to deal with a Khornate insurrection. The influence of Khorne would affect them since they were heavily suffering from the Rage/Thirst, and give them reason to turn to Slaanesh

ALSO! We need a warcry. What do you guys think about "Your blood shall glisten upon our blades." (from the 1d4chan article talk)?

So, opening /tg/, the first four threads on the front page for me were:
The brotherhood of the gauntlet thread.
    Glistening Host thread.
    The Enshrouded thread.
    Hive Fleet Nidhoggr thread.

I'm not complaining, since the content they generate can be cool, but christ that's a lot of threads.

I like the idea that they had a history together. maybe they went on the same crusade together? And then the Blood Dragons got Andalus. And they the Slaanesh shit started and so the Gauntlet had to call in the Inquisition.

This works better if the gauntlet tried to deal with them using words, then tried to deal with them themselves and failed and THEN called the Inquisition as they have bad relations with them, this also gets the Brotherhood another reason why the Inquisition does not like them. They were bros with now-traitors.

This sort of conflicts with the brotherhood fluff, in their thread, they came to Andalus with the Blood Dragons as part of a crusade and they conquered the planet for the Imperium.

Of course, Andalus is supposed to be really religiously diverse (like the medieval Iberian Peninsula) so a Khornate presence isn't unimaginable.

    >Blood Dragons do the major lifting, get given world
    >Decide for MAXIMUM OPULENCE
    >Eventual corruption, leaks down to the nobles
    >Brotherhood tries to sort shit out
    >Fail
    >Brotherhood calls for Inquisitorial aid
    >Blood Dragons, now Glistening Host, get kicked out
    >Breotherhood gets given world
    >World is corrupt, Brotherhood mad at them (maybe blames themselves for letting them get corrupted)

Also it was said that the Chapter's hero Jibril might have banished the Glistening Host's daemon prince which later returned. Would they have had it so early on? Would it be more dramatic if Jibril died banishing it? Also of note is to match the daemon's angelic appearance Jibril is the name of the strongest angel in Islam.

One of the ideas that just was suggested in the Brotherhood thread was that since Andalus only became an Imperial world after the Blood Dragons conquered it there had to be a reason for the two chapters to go there.

Basically the Blood Dragons ignored orders to attack a military target and instead opted to save the population of Andalus, a non-imperial world that was being attacked by the forces of Chaos. The Brotherhood opted to join the Blood Dragons in their attack instead of helping the AdMech search for some techno relics on some backwater world.

That works. The Brotherhood was made for a crusade but we're not sure what the crusade was for. We were thinking of making it a reference to the Third Crusade, with the Imperium reclaiming some holy place from Christian-influenced-enemies.

Maybe the Blood Dragons fought with them in that? Not sure what enemy we can use with a Christian inspiration though.

It is time, Malachai thought to himself.

The Astartes could barley hold the joyous sense of rapture he was feeling. Soon, any second now, he would stuck in the gorgeous hell that is war. And against actual, mortal humans! Untwisted, devout guardsmen with the most tender flesh and frail bodies. Nothing at all like those ugly, thick-skinned Orks which he and his brothers had been forced to fight for so long.

Soon he would hear the horrifying cries of battle, and feel sweet, beautiful blood splash against his body. Malachai couldn’t help but lick his lips at the thought of blood gushing out of an unfortunate loyalist’s body.

Malachai’s armour bore the standard colour of the Glistening Host. Porcelain white ceramite with a golden trim. A majestic and divine suit of mark seven Aquilla armour. Many would not believe that such a horrible being could wear such a magnificent guise. In his hands he held a custom Boltgun, unholy symbols and characters scattered along it’s sides, carved in over the years by it’s master. A mechanical device lay underslung the weapon. A sharp hook was visible sticking out from a metal tube, serpentine chains wrapped around it and attached to a mechanism. Hookshots likes these were common amongst the Astartes of the Host, often used in conjunction with bolter and occasionally melee weapons. They would be fired at range, sinking deep into an enemy so that the marine may drag his foe towards him and enjoy a display of agony and pain as he did so.

    (Will continue this)

    Very much liking it.

Also at the Brotherhood thread we're thinking of doing a story for the hero, Jibril. It'll be about a raid on Andalus by the Daemon Prince, wrecking shit up with maybe a noble rebellion supporting him. Shit is getting wrecked, Jibril and the other marines drop down in their drop pods, battle commences and Jibril as leader of the first company finds himself facing the daemon prince. They fight, Jibril wins and banishes him demoralising the Host so they leave but at the cost of his mortal coil, he is then put into a venerable dreadnought where he becomes a fixated drugged up combat machine. More so than most. At the moment his gear is going to be an artefact silver powerfist and a chainsword, it'll be a vanguard veteran guard so he'll have a jump pack which will go nicely with the daemon prince's angelic theme. The daemon prince is a naked angel looking thing, isn't it? Any details you can give us, stuff about his portrayal? If you'd prefer this to be a small raiding party led by the daemon prince or a large scale one?
    >> Anonymous 05/29/11(Sun)19:43 No.15096074
    >>15095868
The ceramite plates which would have covered the marine’s midsection were removed. Malachai wanted to feel the tingle of blood against his raw, open muscles. He also did not wear a helmet, wishing to truly smell and see the luscious carnage. He wanted to taste war at it’s fullest extent.

The Astartes lifted his bolter up, nearly pressing the top of the gun against his skull. He prayed. “Prince of Excess, the Pleasure Lord Slaa-neth, may my senses be acute and may you unleash upon me wondrous feelings of bliss.”

A sharp sound rang throughout, echoing off the metal surrounding him. Malachai grinned and euphoria dominated him. He knew what was coming next.

Suddenly a downpour of blood and gore rained down upon the marine. Ecstasy stung Malachai’s entire body as the blood trickled down him, drips of red seeping in through his armour’s joints followed by a feeling of pure joy. Soon blood had drenched the whole suit of the Astartes, now a terrifying, soaked red devil. Malachai stood quivering, as the sensation was beyond wondrous. He had not had a bathing in over a week and the feeling was like nothing else.

    >>15096377

I like that. No demonic details though. Or perhaps something that is really, really minor. Almost unnoticable. I always liked the idea of a Slanneshi daemon being perfect in everyway. So perfect that you practically fall in love with it and want it to bum you to death. But there's always that feeling in the back of your mind as you state longingly into its eyes that its wrong. Just plain wrong; like the creature shouldn't exist. Infact, the sheer wrongness is painful, mindbreakingly so. Your mind breaks, unable to cope with the idea of you loving and hating something so much. Half of you wants to marry the thing, the other half wants to rip it to pieces.

Malachai gasped in pleasure, the sense of bliss now lessen but the tone of it still there.

He needed more. It was a dominating sensation. He needed to spill blood, and feel it once again.

Some of the blood had dripped down the ceramite and began gathering beneath him. Smears and stains of gore remained on sections of the armour still. Malachai lowered himself, dipping his hand it in, then bringing his bloody gauntlet back up. As the red liquid ran along his fingers he rubbed them against his armour, sanguine lines moving along as he did. On the left side of his chest he formed a mark of the Prince out of blood. The remaining ichor on the gauntlet he smeared against his face. The senses of smell and feel itched with thrill.

Then a voice, static and fierce, sounded throughout. “It is time. For the glory of Chaos!”

Several joined lines of light suddenly appeared before Malachai, piercing the darkness. The light grew until it filled the Astartes’ entire view. He bolted into action, running towards the radiance. The battle had begun.

Hey OP, I don't have much to add, but I think I should mention this stuff looks awesome, and I love the BG on this chapter.

First: the shit about them being good at melee and ranged. Ignore the faggots saying that doesn't make sense. Fluff says that they drill all of their combat skills like there's no tomorrow, and their natural talent is immense, added onto their technological advantages and such.

Also, them falling to Slaanesh whilst fighting corn makes sense, don't listen to the guys saying it's derp, because half (not literally) the imperium falls against chaos that way and.

Oh yeah, the one thing I don't like is the warcry, it's kinda cheesy. Also, I'd go a bit further into the blood drinking/mutations thing. Maybe some more into the vampire thing? Slaanesh is vain and cultured, just like the blood angels, and vampires, I think you've got a perfect combo here, keep on trucking!

Ooh, that's good. That's very good. Uncanny valley perfect, long flowing dark hair. Perfect face, perfectly symmetrical. You ever see a symmetrical face? Shit always looks wrong when you really look at it. Androgynous, lithe but clearly toned and HUGE but still human proportioned.

And I have an idea, add a bit of subtle diachronicness. It looks like he's wearing the robe but when you really look it becomes more and more visible that there's no body the robe is flapping against - it is his body. And if you look at it, the mouths of the corpseless skins move in a scream. And when you're near it you can hear it, a small subtle scream and wail. Despite being a small sound you can still hear it over the gun fire of a battle.

    How's that sound?

As much as I love Baraka & his waifu, I don't think that really fits either. Its hands are line the fingers from that one Stephen King short story (I think it was called "The Finger). "Refining through flaying!"
"Let zeal burst through you/your ichor!"
    "Extract gleam from their veins!"
"Push the darkness away! Shine, dear entrails, SHINE!"

...ok, these look hilariously bad, but know the idea - we should aim for something insane: "Your blood shall glisten upon our blades" is something Khornate could say. Slaaneshi warriors shall be mad psychopats of the kind "we know what we are doing, but we are still predators whose only purpose is to create masterpiece mozaic from your scrotums on the walls of our basements."

though i will say some cultures has some fucked up vampire lore.

"The Hantu Langsuir, from Malaysian lore, is one of the most feared and deadliest of all banshees of Malaysia. It was believed that woman who died giving birth to their child, who also dies, will become a Hantu Langsuir after 40 days. She is described as being hideous with red piercing eyes, sharp claws, very long hair, a decayed face, and huge fangs. She is able to fly and is most often seen wearing a green or white robe. The hantu langsuir could also shape-shift into an owl. She is also vengeful and furious and will go after newborns and pregnant women, drinking their blood, milk, and organs from the inside out causing a very slow death. It was believed that the hantu langsuir has a hole on the back of her neck used to suck blood. Filling the hole with her hair or cutting her claws will make her human again. To prevent women from turning into a hantu langsuir many glass beads must be placed in the woman’s mouth. The still-born children of the hantu langsuir are called Pontianak."

    “Beautiful.”

There was no better word with which Malachai could think to describe what he felt as he stepped out into the battlefield.

It was a canvas of terrible beauty. Dirt brown coated the warzone, with specks blood red and steel throughout. Shells and explosives came flying down in splashes of black and orange. The symphony had been assembled; screams of horror and pain, the sound of gunshots, the grind of gears and the boom of detonations chimed as the musicians played their notes.

Malachai sniffed the air. It smelt of war’s most beautiful flowers; blood, sweat and smoke. The Astartes was beyond pleased as he took in the wonderful clash before him. He remembered, however, that he needed to contribute to glorious piece as well.

Like any good artist he analyzed the work before him then readied his tool. The marine lunged forward, his boltgun loaded and prepared to fire. As he advanced, the shady blobs of three guardsman came into view. Malachai held his easel at him and made three dabs with it, leaving behind a red stain with each movement.

I've gone from understanding their complaint, to being angry at the complaint, to not really giving a shit about it anymore.

I must get closer, Malachai thought to himself. He needed to see the results of his actions up close, to see the bloody destruction of a man’s body and smell the ichor as it spilled out.

The marine quickened his advance. He kept firing at guardsmen whenever the popped into his sights. One, two, three, four loyalist’s skull turned to splatter. Six, seven and eight were hit in the legs or had their arms ripped off by bolter rounds. Malachai didn’t wish to kill them all, enjoying their ravishing mortal screams as pain seized them and they realized their part was done. The marines of the Glistening Host were skilled marksman and so his shots were able to hit their marks with remarkable precision.

Malachai looked to his sides. His fellow angels were charging into the fray with him, their shining armour saturate in blood which gleamed in the sunlight. Every one of his brothers was smiling, just as glad to be adding their own red tints to the canvas. Far off he could see the most blessed and favoured skin-clad warriors of the Flayed Dancers.

These were Astartes afflicted with the Black Rage and Red Thirst. In other the chapters of other Blood Angels these warriors would be treated like savages, animals. Their minds twisted and driven by blind rage. But Slaanesh had smiled upon the Host’s marines and turned their curse into a blessing. The Flayed Dancers were the elite of the Host, ones who could feel the greatest ecstasies of battle, their battle rage transformed into lust. Malachai watched the chosen Astartes with envy as they charged towards the gunners of an unfortunate artillery piece, flailing their chains and blades wildly with joy.

I know this doesn't work very well with your simile, but a gun pressed up against someone's head ceases to be a ranged weapon.

This is a saiga 12 shotgun modified into a semiauto shotgun pistol that looks questionably like a boltgun. Yes its real. Yes its made by a crazy 3rd world country.

This Ranged weapon + Close combat. Get the drift.

A chapter with skilled shooters who have a mental flaw makes them want to get closer to their foes? How absurd!

What's next, a stealth chapter of marines that take pride in their colours and are asleep half the time?

Either way, they both have their reasons. The Emperor's Nightmare only have half of their companies use the PRIDE IN OUR COLOURS RAWGH armour, while the Glistening Host like to restrain themselves from entering close combat, so that when they finally can't control themselves anymore they get a bigger buzz from the whole experience.

    Bump.
    >> OP !vv/Nr3MYLo 05/30/11(Mon)21:55 No.15108093
The clip of Malachai’s weapon was dry. He reached to his palette to grab another, but as he did a guardsman came into a view, standing a few meters away. The mortal had been unaware of Malachai’s presence, and once he had descried the presence bloody demigod he was frozen in place, a look of horror upon his face as his eyes widen and his mouth gapped.

The Astartes comprehend the guardsman’s terror and grinned maliciously at him. Sweat drenched the poor loyalist as he stood paralyzed in awe. Malachai opened his mouth and a slick tongue slipped out.

    “Well don’t you look delicious…”

Malachai slammed a clip into his boltgun and took aim. The guardsman’s instincts kicked into and he bound into action, brining up his lasgun to bear. The Astartes fired off a single bolt which he aimed at the mortal’s weapon. The shot hit the front of the lasgun, exploding on impact. The gun’s barrel was destroyed and shards of metal flew out, slashing it’s bearer and mutilating his arm.

(And that's I've gotten done for now. Will finish tomorrow most likley.)

Guys, they're good at shooting shit, but they LIKE getting up close and stabbing the enemy. Why the fuck is that so hard to understand.

So bump with progress. I got the base stuff in and the spatter. I just gotta clean it up and detail it a bit. then base it. I'm no golden demon, and the fact that I hate white as a base dosen't help. But as far as table top quality goes I think its gonna turn out ok.

Looks jawsome. Only problem is the head (which doesn't really fit the chapter, I've gotta say), but it doesn't ruin the look of the model, so hey, jobz a guddun.

I am loving these new chapters sprouting like mushrooms, although most of them are generic, least this one is Chaos.

The guy I sent you last night, hes got Steam. I've posted his ID on your thread.

Its the only way to reach him atm.
