You ever get that feeling like you were supposed to do something today? I've been having that feeling ever since I was supposed to have started this quest tonight. My bad.

We have caused an explosion that tore the very continents from VoidGate's final stronghold world. It is gone forever. We suffered heavy losses, but we prevented the machines from sending a Kingston lookalike through what appeared to be an engineered rift in time. We can only imagine the havok that would have ensued, if Kingston had been replaced by a VoidGate-allied machine.

(Also, in response to a question: yes, I read the archive, and maybe. That would have made me do a lot of puzzling about quantum physics and story structure)

So, how bad is our position relative to the rest of the sector? Are the protoss still unified? Is Cerebrate Street still teaching children about protoss stellar-cartography?
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/15/11(Wed)22:37 No.15280931
News out of the Confederates is spotty and propaganda-filled as ever. For all the news reveals, they could have conquered a hundred worlds, or they could still be hunkered down on the big three.

Kerrigan tells us that the Protoss are mostly unified, and she has been blocked out of their leadership. Tassadar and his lieutenant, Fenix, have secured Aiur and begun a massive movement for reconstruction and rearming, but she confirms that less than ten Dark Templar yet live. She can't say for certain how many less.

We have heard nothing from Dyles or the UED.
    >> TUMCAMP 06/15/11(Wed)22:43 No.15280983
That doesn't answer the question of whether or not we're teaching terran children about the geography of the protoss empire, but I digress. Ask the SciCore if they can build a dingus to detect dark templar across systems. Also, let's have cyberbrate start picking through what we still have of voidgate's data. I think it's time we do something with the protoss.
    >> TUMCAMP 06/15/11(Wed)22:50 No.15281044
Come to think of it, ask Accountbrate about the long term economic impact of adding terminators into general use? I'd say they'd be better then infested terrans, but worse then thumblings.
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/15/11(Wed)22:50 No.15281045
Actually, Indiana Gorn is having wild success right now.

The Dark Templar are different from the regular Protoss. We might be able to modify the Zerg Compass to detect particularly strong Protoss, but we doubt the Dark Templar would even register as a blip.
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/15/11(Wed)22:55 No.15281089
Androids are not very cost-efficient. Internbrate believes that we could use the artificial skin production process to incubate humans faster than previously possible. Human cloning for independent production of infested Terrans may be feasible, now.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)22:58 No.15281110
Dark templar have severed their connection with the mindlink the rest of the protoss share
They attune their minds to the void rather than to the Kalah

Other than that, perhaps it's time we check out what's been happening with Kingston. Send some cloaked overlords to the Confederacy worlds, see what's up.

So far we know that our forces are depleted, but we've utterly destroyed one of our most implacable foes. To commemorate this, let us have Artisanlord work on an appropriate project related to this (a memorial or a play or whatever he can cook up).

Notify Kerrigan about VoidGate's destruction. Also, ask Kerrigan about the general status of her brood, and if she has any other plans in the works as of now. The Zerg Swarm may be heading toward inevitable war, now that the Protoss have caught on to her machinations.

Curses, I screwed it up, oh well.
Are you implying we could make a Kingston compass? Please say yes. How about we think back to the whore Fenschal and the ship she used to kill dad. Can we remember anything unique about it's energy signature?
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)23:09 No.15281188
I'm down with sending some feelers into Confederate space.
Cloaked Overlords or Protoss Observers (we don't want Kingston to figure out the Dropserver trick) to do long-range scans and pick up Confederate transmissions.
Also, I think using Terminators would be a good way to infiltrate Confederate space. The Confederacy is already on-guard for Zerg-infected infiltrators, but I don't know if they're able to pick out a T-800. Something that bears looking into.
    >> TUMCAMP 06/15/11(Wed)23:10 No.15281200

Maybe we should look into causing the Confederacy to fragment, the former Kel-Morian Combine seems like a good idea.

Thinking more on this idea, at the very least we could work out a deal to sell minerals at a discount to the fKMC, then allow kingston to discover that the mining company is really zerg. Might cause him to kill What's his/her face to install one of his lackeys.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)23:21 No.15281286

Not to mention that most of the VoidGate infiltrators probably shut down rather abruptly (and possibly violently) after VoidGate's main HQ planet asploded into itself.
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/15/11(Wed)23:23 No.15281296
    (I'm saying the opposite, actually...)

Feneschal's ship was confusing. It gave off very little energy at all, which is part of why we couldn't detect it sooner. It was psionic in nature, but it didn't register that way.

The first observer enters the space over Tarsonis. The space is cluttered with traffic. There are two makeshift shipyards, obviously working on battlecruisers. There is one on patrol.

Plenty of ships are coming and going, but all of the comm chatter is encrypted.

Let's send our infested Overlord around what used to be KMC worlds, as well as the core Confederacy worlds (the territory that was always in the Confederacy prior to the Zerg emerging). Maybe we (or Kerrigan) can see if there are any signs that the Confederacy is fracturing.
    >> TUMCAMP 06/15/11(Wed)23:26 No.15281322
Oh, if it's not fracturing we'll make it fracture. The fKMC could very well break away from the Confederacy for a large enough bribe.

Ask Kerrigan if she's doing anything with them right now. If not, then approach her gently about possibly trading/exchanging/donating them for the ZergSciCorp. to experiment with. Between Internbrate, Nargil, and Labbrate, they could sure as hell would be able to use them to enhance Kerrigan's Brood and our Brood.

    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)23:32 No.15281358
If we can, forward the encrypted traffic to Internbrate for decryption.
As I recall, Cyberbrate is still working on repairing much of the computing and manufacturing infrastructure on Dagobah, Internbrate is working on turning the Alman Station into a StarForge, and Labbrate is working on other projects.

I want Cyberbrate to continue repairing its damaged systems.
Internbrate to continue working on the StarForge.
Labbrate to work on Axlotl Tanks (using the Terminator synthetic skin growth process to clone humans to create more Infested Terrans) and making a small Terminator factory.
Our strength has been in finding new uses for enemy technology; Terminators will be no different.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)23:33 No.15281361

I was thinking more along the lines of additional experimentation and such to see if we can yield any new mutations for the Swarm by getting our hands on more infested Protoss. Our units got an across-the-board psionic attack and enhanced stamina, but we might be able to "unlock" more evolutions and/or zerg species if we had more Protoss to experiment on; we can already construct carriers without any protoss aid (infested or not), if Kerrigan needs those protoss to construct her carriers, then maybe we can share construction information with her to alleviate that problem.

    Add a second ridge scratcher?
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/15/11(Wed)23:38 No.15281415
Actually, Internbrate has got the Aleman Station's systems mostly operational. We can try to use it for production of specialized machinery, or just use it to convert solar materials into usable capital for Accountantbrate (who votes quite loudly for this).

Labbrate begins working with the synthetic skin, which I won't call Axlotl tanks because the latter half of the Dune series made me very cross.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)23:38 No.15281417
I was thinking of infiltration units, for both infiltrating the Confederacy as well as on the battlefield sneaking in and commandeering enemy vehicles.
But also, 1 which is skinned to look like Kingston, who will wear a butler's uniform and be stationed in our lair.

Also, I believe we still have a few Infested Ghosts. Those should be the first strains to be cloned, to attempt to create more Zerg Ghosts.
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/15/11(Wed)23:39 No.15281424
We understand that she uses the Protoss to fly the carriers. She seems fond of them.
    >> Anonymous 06/15/11(Wed)23:41 No.15281436

If we have any info. on the T-1000 types of Terminators (the liquidy melty goopy ones), maybe we can look into that as a method of expediting construction of our Terran assets. Or maybe working it into a type of quick-repair system.

More ridge-scratchers are never a bad thing. However, they will need smaller pauldrons than our current one to signify their lesser status in the imaginary hierarchy we have set up for our ridge-scratchers.

I vote to have Aleman Station be used for the conversion of stellar material. Also, Internbrate is to attempt to build a Terminator factory there; use components and modules from VoidWorld if necessary.

Oh, and before anyone forgets, send a flight of dropservers, a cloaked battlecruiser, 2 squadrons of Wraiths, a flight of Cloaked Overlords filled with ground troops and drones enough to create an medium-size outpost to the Lutrious system, to wipe clean Dyles and to begin probing the UED.

Seconding. Never hurts to have a more efficient way of getting resources. Also never hurts to have a listening post of sorts in the border of UED/UEDyles space.

Also, what's up with that Ghost breeding program? Since we can essentially hatch/create new infested terrans, could this mean that we could possibly cycle through a hundred cycle of human evolutions to try to coax that stubborn psionic potential out from it?

    >Scouting in Terran Space

So they're obviously busy trying to recoup their drastic losses from the Battle of Tyrador. Like that one poster said before, forward the messages to Internbrate and see if he can decrypt them.

Dispatch a second observer/cloaked overlord to the KM-Combine space. Let's see if we can intercept any messages near there that'll give us a better idea of how the Confederacy is faring.

The cloaked overlord we send to Moria finds a similar situation to to Tarsonis, but the shipyards are working on wraiths and mining vehicles. The chatter is enrypted, but the not all of the encryptions are the same as on Tarsonis. In fact, a few minutes after we arrive, we notice a small armed convoy land, after which all of the ships that land using the Tarsonis encryption switch to a third, different encryption. Our observer over Tarsonis notices that the same third encryption is now in use there, as well.

Cyberbrate isn't quite sure what to make of it.

It could be something as simple as Kingston changing the encryption keys as a security measure.
Or, it could indicate that there's more distrust between the Combine and the Confederacy than was originally let on.

Let's have some Cloaked Overlords or Observers check out Protectorate space, and see what's going on there.
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/16/11(Thu)00:08 No.15281656
    (Your name is different)

It's a battlecruiser surrounded by wraiths. Aside from that, we're not detecting anything peculiar.

Our cloaked overlord arrives at the edge of the Umoja system, and discovers the third encryption dominating communications. The second one, previously only found over Moria, is here, as well, but it seems to be used by only a few ships and a few locations on the ground.

    >Encryption wtf am i reading

Let's go to other systems and see if this phenomenon is repeating itself. This could be indicative of a conspiracy or paranoia over transmissions. Although it's very odd that they switched at the exact moment the convoy landed. Have our observer in Tarsonis scan the other ships' transmissions. Are ALL of the ships in Tarsonis now using the third encryption? Or just a select few?

This could mean that the Confederacy is becoming more unstable.

On the other hand, this could also mean that the formerly separate sovereign nations that now form the Confederacy are still sending internal communications that they don't want other formerly-opposed nations to see (not unusual at all).

Also, guys, we need more votes on what to do with the Aleman Station, and if we're going to set up a listening post near the UED.

    >send and Observer or three to random other systems in the Confederacy

A bit of clarification: As far as we know, there ARE no other systems in the Confederacy. We worked with VoidGate to destroy a huge chunk of it, and mass evacuations were underway. They could have expanded again, but we wouldn't know where.

Internbrate turns the Aleman Station over to Accountantbrate. Accountantbrate, after a little experimentation, releases a psionic cry of glee. For the first time in a long, long, time, it seems really happy. Several of the other cerebrates don't seem to understand the idea of Accountantbrate being happy.

Warbrate sends forces to Lutrious to establish a forward base. They will take a long time to arrive, as before.

Cyberbrate suggests that we pick an encryption method and focus on breaking that, rather than trying to break them all at once. Which one should we work on?
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/16/11(Thu)00:34 No.15281849
Internbrate thinks it could rig up an android to resemble Kingston, though it would obviously lack any scars, dyed hair, etc. Do we want it as a robot butler, or for propaganda purposes?

    From the last session:
Have Artisanlord do it as a "Breaking News Bulletin" to interrupt regular programming, and have a round-table conference call between Artisanlord, thumbling-proxy for Cyberbrate, thumbling-proxy for Labbrate, thumbling-proxy for Warbrate, and an uncomfortable looking Protoss Archon from that colony of archons as a 'special guest expert from the Protoss Empire'. Have the thumblings all wearing specially tailored suits and ties as they discuss the possibilities that the AI may have already replaced Kingston, possibly other high-ranking members of the Confederacy, and what this bodes for the safety of the Koprulu Sector for organic life.

The only problem is that the Confederacy will be on the lookout for Terminator infiltrators after that.

Once Internbrate is better at creating infiltration model Terminators, we may use a dozen or so Kingston-models for the PSA, but that depends on if our desire to troll Kingston outweighs our desire to infiltrate the Confederacy with Terminators.

I want a butler, and if we use a Kingston on Zerg TV make sure that it doesn't look/move right. If we do show off our robokingston lets make it seem crude and easy to spot.

Better yet: Infiltrate the Confederacy with a ton Kingston terminators. A, for the lulz, B, because it will freak them out, and C, so they won't be on the lookout for our other, non-Kingston termies.

I understand that if we do that, then it would lull the Confederacy into a false sense of security. But we would lose the trolling potential of forcing Kingston to submit to ever more invasive tests to prove that he's human.

Internbrate constructs it and skins it, while Cyberbrate programs it. After a bit of technological wrangling, Cyberbrate is able to rig up a relay system so the Kingstonator Butler can respond to its direct commands from Xenta.

It is slightly disconcerting to us that we must relay orders to the unit through another being.

A side-project for Internbrate: the creation of a small Zerg organism, like a leech or eel, which can be implanted in a Terminator, and hooked up with a cybernetic interface, to act as an intermediary between the Terminator's CPU and the Swarm.
Sure, it's not direct control of a Terminator, but it's a nice psionic backup communication network in case the normal radio communications are jammed.

    Things seem pretty quiet, here.

Do we want to break until next week?
    >> Anonymous 06/16/11(Thu)00:58 No.15281985
First let's see if Cyberbrate finished breaking that third encryption cipher.
    >> TUCAMP 06/16/11(Thu)01:01 No.15282003
I've been mildly distracted, but have we started to figure out the third encryption?
    >> Cerebrate Anon 06/16/11(Thu)01:09 No.15282056
(...how did that slip my mind? Clearly, I am going senile)

After a few minutes of devoting its considerable computing power to the task, Cyberbrate believes it has broken the third encryption system, though there is still a 13.25% loss rate.

That's close enough for now, really. After running a cross-section of the comm traffic through the decryption algorithm, we discover...regular comm traffic. Most of it is mundane, though there are hints that the Morians may be talking of secession, and Cyberbrate estimates that several of the conversations are indicative of limited Terran expansion away from the three major planets.

It appears that the Terrans are using the encryption to ensure that none of our ships can infiltrate their systems undetected. Clever.

Next week: Lutrious outpost go! Kingstonator butlering! Maybe we do something with the Protoss or whatever! Who knows? I sure don't!

    Damn. Forgot my image.

Could be sanity cancer. Can sanity get cancer?

So you enjoyed the idea of robot butlers did you? And is the Kinstron in a tux?

He wouldn't be much of a butler otherwise...
